The situation Late in the night (3, 4, 5 h) there was a lot of noise from other rooms. There is no isolation at all, and we can follow all the steps made by our neighbours. As the walls cannot be removed, perhaps recomend the guests to be quiet.
Very central in Ciudad Rodrigo, quiet, no criticisms
Excellent location in town centre; welcoming and friendly staff; quiet and comfortable room; secure parking at reasonable extra charge, and good breakfast (not usually included in Spanish hotels in this category).
Friendly and co-opperative staff though no. English spoken. Please write at least 15 words Strange absence of staff - we were only guests and alone in hotel
Convenient location near the historic attractions in Ciudad Rodrigo. Breakfast included was sparse (coffee orange juice and a bun or toast - no tomato for the toast or fruit etc) and they ran out of bread on the second day. Air conditioner dripped incessantly and we had to put a towel down.
The hotel is located in a wonderful renovated castle. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel room was were nicely decorated in a medievall style. Food at the restaurant waqs execellent. No swimming pool
A historic Parador. The usual good service at a Parador and a good location. In general Paradors need to update the room facilities a little. In our experience the beds are often hard. However, updating has to be balanced with the history of most Paradors.
Lovely staff in the restaurant for dinner We feel that a lot of the Paradors need better signposting
This hotel is in a wonderful location, it is a converted castle and decorated very tastefully. The town is very old and well worth a visit Nothing was wrong with this hotel
Lovely hotel in a great location. Set high above the river below. Must see the hidden garden here and walk around the ramparts to loom over the local countryside and see the stork nests! Charming parador and very comfortable. The evening meal was expensive and not particularly good, which is a shame as they were advertising a new menu with local food so we gave it a try. Go out for dinner.
Great converted castle with lovely garden terraces overlooking the river. Everywhere in town an easy walk. We were not warned when booking that main tower of castle was being restored and completely covered in blue sheeting and scaffolding. Disappointing for photos.
Ambience, history, and reception staff was excellent. It would be useful if they could send a cab to station for those arriving during siesta!!!!!
Only the location I would not stay at this hotel again. Garage facilites are extremely dificult.
Brilliant position,in the centre of the old town.
The Hotel was in a lovely position full of character and the rooms were comfortable. Sound transmission between adjacent rooms is poor you can clearly hear everything said in adjoining rooms
Beautifull building, bedroom and situation in Ciudad Rodrigo. friendly staff. It's in a old building and you can ear what's going on in other places, principally if you stay in the 1st floor.
Perfect for an overnight stopover on route to Portugal from France.
The restaurant is particularly good, why not try the fixed menu a real mouth watering bargain
Ciudad Rodrigo is a really remarkable small town. The hotel was very well located to explore the town and the nearby countryside. The value for mony of the hotel is unbeatable!
The hotel was above expectations for the money. Room and outlook very good, bathroom facilities excellent.
Quiet hotel. Wirelees Internet (free) at room. Unusable PC at room, for internet connection (too slow) Horrible cigarette smell at reception area, as receptionist smoke at office, near reception, even if not permitted . Hotel is apart from everything-you must rely on your car to do anything. Breakfast has no hot food (eggs, bacon,...). .Reserved a double room and was informed at reception that there was no double rooms vacant (twin only)
Beautiful location, helpful staff. clean and comfortable.
This is a good hotel in a lovely rural setting. Although we were happy there, it is fairly small, so its amenities may not match up to everyone's expectations for a four star hotel. We stayed at the hotel for two nights. On the first night (29th May) the food in the restaurant was good, but on the second night (30th May) the food in the restaurant was sub-standard and really was not good enough for a four star hotel (I suspect the chef was having a night off !!)
Friendly and helpfull personnel. Good attention for detail such as roofed parking area. I highly recommend this hotel.
Very tranquil and special atmosphere. The hotel was an extremely relaxing place to stay.
all the staff were very helpful . Food was good There should be at least one computer available to use for guests ..even at an extra charge . Most people these days have need for access to Internet while traveling .
Good hotel and facilities with fabulous location adjacent to L'Alberca and Sierra la Francie. Parking difficult in underground car park.
excellent breakfast, location and advice from staff on visiting and transportation front desk staff, when alone, are greatly overwhelmed by their workload and I had to wait 15 minutes to get business done and I was the first customer at the desk
the location and staff. i especially liked having a v good wine at fair price sitting by real fire. i believe the are is not suitable for mature couple who like good food wine and scenery i think the noise from other rooms and the corridor is a problem .if a person wanted to sleep onyou would have a problem
La Alberca Will not return to this hotel. Price dropped considerably in the days before my stay. Booking.com advised us to contact hotel re changing to a better value room. Hotel advised us to contact Booking.com - in other words "the runaround". Breakfast extra and expensive. Parking extra and very difficult to negotiate. Hotel room (+96€) lacked basics such as a mirror, extremely noisy building work metres from our window. Many quieter rooms appeared available but not offered. Receptionist polite but disinterested in looking after guests. Such a shame as La Alberca is a stunning pueblo. We will return but to a different hotel.
Everything here looked brand-new and modern, well thought out and arranged, so the room itself was fine, as was the entry area and breakfast room. Had an elevator for those needing to go to upper floors. Hotel is very close to the main plaza. The hotel is right next to a main gate on a road out of town, and the sound-proofing wasn't good at all, so when cars and motorcycles went by, there was a lot of noise in the room. Also were a fair number of loud talking pedestrians there.
The hotel was great, situated in a (too?) quiet village. Magnificent surroundings for the nature lovers and those who like to explore almost unspoilt villages.
Smart designer rooms in the unlikely and rather incongruous setting of a rustic village. Well located for walking and very quiet. Difficult to find!
Interesting memorabilia of bullfighting, including a bullring in the grounds. Sink leaked; shower didn't work too well. Room over kitchen ventilation. Car needed to reach nearest town, Ciudad Rodrigo. Catered more for large groups than couples.
it´s not a 4 star hotel!!!!
The food was very good and a reasonable priced. The air conditioing in the room was very poor. We would not return to the hotel because of it.
