Facilities were great and breakfast was very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We paid for a basic room, but we were upgraded, which was very kind. Nearby Salerno (15mins away) is a good place for eating out and it is generally very nice typical Italian city. Good value for money. Location is poor, but I think you won't be able to find any hotel of this standard on the Amalfi Coast or Salerno. Luckily we had a car, so it was a lot easier. I don't recommend it if you do not have a car. There are no interesting restaurants nearby hence we drove to Salerno each evening. Beach is quite dirty, but we haven't seen private hotel beach (we were not that bothered as weather wasn't good so we only went for a short walk).
Front desk was great, got all the info got upgrade and always with a smile
The actual hotel surrounds are good and the facilities were fine. New plants were being planted when we stayed. Clean rooms, internet facilities, a nice pool (but unfortunately we did not get to use it as it shuts at 7pm). This hotel is completely out of the way if you do not have a car. You then need to solely rely on the public transport. Buses are infrequent (and unreliable - we were left waiting a good hour before a bus came along spoiling our days plans). Allow 20 minutes to reach the train station. We stayed here first week of June, but no restaurants were open on the street, so we were forced to utilise the hotel restaurant on the first night which was overpriced (but the service was good). The location of the hotel is a bit ho-hum: along a strip of high-way that has derelict housing (but not uncommon for south of Italy), overgrown fields, dilapidated shops, and just a feeling of neglect. I would only recommend the hotel if you have your own transport (relying on buses was a nuisance ie, you could not miss the 8:10pm bus from Concordia Place otherwise you were stuck in Salerno itself). We did not realise at the time of booking, and it was not until we sussed out the bus schedule (that we would have to wait for an hour or so before the next bus when we arrived in Salerno), but they can pick you up from the train station if you organise it prior to your arrival.
interier, brekfast, beach, garden
I liked about everything. It is a nice hotel. Enviromentally orienteted, clean and neat. no
Very clean and well equiped rooms. All hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Only one resturant within walking distance (elderly parent with us) and the hotel resturant was closed, but we were staying out of season.
Fantastic customer service
the room and pool were very nice. clean, comfy, new, great sun loungers. if you want a lazy few days, we stayed for 4 nights its a good place, any longer we would of been really bored. they were helpful with bus timetable... although the local buses didnt run on time they still did run. the hotel was in a poor location, however we were aware of this - thanks to the reviews on the site.; nothing local to do or see, no where to go for a walk. hard to enjoy any food, i though the evening restaurant opening times of 8pm to 9pm were not adequate, and the food was overprices and not to a high standard, also breakfast was a dissapointment as the cake was stale , and we kept seeing it put on the buffet day after day.
staff is very nice, food is good, room very nice and clean, pool clean, beach nice and clean. very good looking gardens. 10 Euros to used laundry room and Iron. the bad directions from booking web page to find the hotel, address was wrong. check the correct address in:www.hotelolimpico.it
friendly atmosphere Drinks a bit expensive
Nice villa, nice staff, nice owner
We absolutely loved the hotel, the staff and the family (including the animals). The only thing that could improve the rooms would be a kettle and tray of coffee/tea facilities.
What I liked about the Hotel was the location and the scenery, very relaxing. The rooms are comfortable and pleasant.
The friendliness of the staff and the location of the hotel. Of course the restaurant is an excellent one. I highly recommend it. It is not suitable for winter stay. The room was heated by air condition which was insufficient.
Visiting Vesuvious and exploring the local area by bike. There was a fantastic, fun and cheap family restaraunt close by called Masseria Della Fontana Vecchia Di Mazza near San Cipriano Picentino. There is no indoor pool, the spa cost €60 per day extra and it was really difficult to find the hotel.
Nice and quiet environment. Good service, ample rooms and nice decor outside the city.
Villa Rizzo was perfect - friendly staff, beautiful location, and great accommodations. Drinking a bottle of wine (from the estate!) on a terrace by the pool, overlooking the valley, was one of the highlights of our 2 week trip. Nothing!
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The bus stop was just outside the hotel. The room and bathroom were very clean. Breakfast was varied. Very good value for money. Would stay at Hotel Carosello again. Excellent!
After a long journey, the receptionist was very helpfull, his english was good enough to be able to communicate with
the best fish ever eaten!
great room, very pleasant, friendly, helpful staff. Location easy to find from A3. restaurant menu poor choice, poor quality.
The staff was very kind
Being honest it was 4 star hotel, but in mid 70s. It should be classified as 2,5 star. The breakfast is only sweet donuts and jam - really poor. The neighborhood is dirty and not very attractive.
price-quality was excellent the pool was not open and the access to the beach was hard to find. What a pity there is an ugly wall between the sea and the hotel. The hotels should work together in cleaning the area.
The cleanliness of the room and the location to visit Amalfi, Pompei and Naples. The breakfast is poor.
Hotel staff was very professional and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Installations very clean and confortabñe. Excellent quality/price relationship. I recommend this hotel to go with the family
Easy access from highway, free wifi
That hotel is near to the motorway - it is a good place to sleep when You drive on that motorway (I did so). The rooms were clean. The room was small (I took quadruple room and it was in fact a twin room with two added beds). The breakfast was very poor - one of the poorest that I ate in Italy.
Access to the station and bus stops. On site parking. General location shower cubical was a touch to small and the sliding doors were coming apart. Draws were lacking and the side cabinets were usefill for nothing. The light switches were too low, about 1200mm above the ground.
Staff was nice and helpful. Bathroom was dirty.
The town itself did not have any restaurants other than the odd pizza takeaway.
The ambiance, the city, the people
Friendly staff and very big room.
Great room and very nice surroundings--good pool and good breakfast. The front desk staff were average at best--not very welcoming or nice.
I have stayed at the Hotel San Luca for buisness in the past. This time I was on vacation with my family. I found the staff to be as friendly and helpful as I could wish them to be. Great value, thank you!
We loved the proprietors. They are so welcoming and helpful, They make every effort to make you feel at home and make certain your needs are met. They really extend themselves, the hotel property is beautiful. The only drawback is that the spiral staircase to the bedroom is narrow and fairly steep, it was fine for us, but if there are mobility issues it would not be the best choice.
