Location was nice and near most attractions. Staff was very nice and helpful. The office staff member changed our room when I notified him of my unhappiness and upgraded us to a two level suite. Great deal on aquarium tickets. They have a 2 day pass if you purchase at the office that is the same price as the aquarium ticket booth for 1 day. Breakfast was nice as it was included. Fresh fruit, baked goods, and even waffles.
First room was terrible. Torn curtains. Torn chair. Spotted lamp shades. Very disappointed. Pictures are deceiving. There is no view to speak of other than the street or the parking lot. The outside furniture does not look like the pictures. Outside fire area was never lit. Had the worst elevator. I thought that it would break every time we were in it. Had to use the stairs out of fear.
I liked everything. Very central location. Close to shopping/restaurants. Close the 17 mile drive. Cannery Row was less than 10 min away. Room was great, pool was great, staff was great.
The staff is amazing here. Danielle went out of her way to accommodate us and really made our stay perfect. The complimentary breakfast was also delightful. I would definitely stay here again.
The rooms are too close together. Felt less private
LOVE the fireplace in my room, it's real and makes just the right amount of white noise for a great sleep. Appreciate the microwave and minifridge, and the sitting room was nice. Outdoor firepits are a nice touch. A little too far from central Monterey for my liking, but I appreciate that it's so close to Del Monte Center with Whole Foods, movie theatre, restaurants.
Weekend rate is ridiculous, but this is the true across hotels. There were a few minor things that made the place feel low-rent that could easily be fixed (generic key cards, they make you put a parking permit on your dash, tiny lobby, elevator interiors are beat-up and outdated). The no late checkouts under any circumstance policy is dumb, but I kind of suspect the receptionist was just saying that because she didn't want to deal with arranging one for me.
I liked that the room we got was two stories and it was spacious. Nice clean room!
The smell downstairs and one of the handle was broken in the bathroom. No big deal for us, but the smell was a bit irritating
I loved the beautiful decoration in the room. Pretty pictures etc. I loved the two separate spaces, sitting with couch and tv or laying in bed w fireplace and tv. Great set up!!! 5 stars! Clean too
I'd give 5 stars except two things, we we're on the second floor and there was a floor above us which anytime somebody got up and walked around the floor squealed and creaked very very very loudly and it kept us awake from 6 AM till check out the second reason is because we couldn't get a later check out.
The room and bed we've very nice and comfortable.
The room I was given did was the only room on the floor without a balcony.
I'm rented what they called a two story townhouse for three nights, which the second story was more like a large loft. The accommodationso where really nice and clean. Plenty of space. The room was large enough to accommodate a family of four to five people or two couples. The only recommendation that i can make is they need to replace the king matress. I could feel the springs. Other than that it was a very nice stay. Quiet and we enjoyed the continental breakfast.
the desk staff where very nice and courteous. Room was clean and looked very inviting.
Room 101 is at the entrance of drive way and on busy street. the mirror over the sink is too short. window over the sink has no blinds and allows massive amounts of light into room day and night. house keeping woke us up every morning at 8:30AM. deliveries to the hotel are made by large trucks backing into the drive way (next to room 101). late at night loud cars would wake us up.
The location, the jacuzzi and deck area, the parking, the room, the decor
Very loud - sirens at night, loud cleaning ladies in the morning, right next to busy street, Brightness of room - sunlight came right through the sky light and woke me up
Our room was very elegant & clean. I loved the complimentary breakfast and the staff was very polite and helpful in everything.
I loved the size and layout of the room. When we entered out room to our left was an partial room with a beautiful tv and couch (the mini-fridge and microwave lived hidden under the nice tv stand) and a coffee/tea maker. The the bathroom, which had a neat light feature in the mirror and a full shower/tub. Lastly was the bedroom area with a very cozy bed (best hotel pillows I have had) and another tv and gas fire place! It was very nice. It felt clean and nice overall. The staff were friendly and helpful. The noise level was not too bad either. I would stay here again. --
I wish there was a coffee table in the first area of the hotel room so that if we are eating in the hotel room we do not have to use the small side tables on the couch. I understand why there is no table and chairs and that is perfectly fine, but a coffee table would be nice. There was small minor room condition issues: little areas of wallpaper pealing off, stains on the carpet (I think from previous quests entering in through the sliding glass door after staying in the pool, it looked like chlorine spots right in front of the sliding glass door. Maybe they could just put a runner over them. There breakfast was great and fun (make your own wafflers) but lacked in protein, it was mostly carbs only. Next time I would bring eggs or something I could make in the hotel room with the mini-fridge/microwave- not my fave but saves money, plus I hate eating out all day long. The breakfast room attendant was very friendly and very quick to replace things.
The fireplaces were really nice to have in January The staff was very helpful especially Tamara Convenient location to explore the whole Monterey area Clean motel. This the 4th time we stayed there. I am a regular exercise and really liked the free use of a very nice workout club close by in Pacific Grove. Had a nice visit and vacation
Room was filthy and run down, black mold in the bath tub and bathroom sink faucts, floor was gritty and not clean. Dead bugs on the floor and on the bathroom wall. Window blinds were broken and hanging down. Walls had black skuffs and shoe footprints on them like someone had kicked the walls. Outside, we heard what sounded like street racing into the early morning hours. When we advised staff about the condition of our room they did not seem concerned - said they had heard it before and that maintenance was not on top of things. Staff claimed hotel was completely booked so we could not be moved.
I loved the room and the folks who worked there. It was a great spot
I did not enjoy that the bathroom fan squealed and would not work and an only functioning TV some of the time
Cozy room with view of tress, separate pool behind the hotel, nice staff
Liked the fireplace. It was the only thing that we liked.
It appeared to be an old motel that had been somewhat updated, but still had a worn-out look. The bathroom had inadequate counter top, no room for toiletries, the shower had no place to put your soap or shampoo. The lighting was very poor in the room. Very inadequate storage for clothing. No desk for laptop. It was such a disappointment that we checked out after the 1st night of a 4-night stay, got a refund from hotels.com and booked another hotel that met all of our expectations for the remaining 3 nights.
