B&B Casa Certosa - Ponte a Bozzone - Building
1
9.9 Excellent (58 reviews)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The house is really nicely situated, surrounded by vineyards and with a fantastic view of the landscape. We felt very welcome and enjoyed talking with Nada, who is a lovely host. The room was absolutely clean (better than most hotels we stayed in) and everything was in good shape. The village is a good starting point for visiting Siena or the Tuscany countryside. With a car, you have a very short drive into the city and can park your car at the train station where the costs for parking are ok.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast with fried eggs. Nada and Carlo are very, very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The price is somewhat in the high end, but the location is wonderful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely great location, view from the balcony is spectacular

Pros: Very, very nice and friendly owners! Beautiful view to Siena city from the window of the house!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful house with a perfectly clean and fancy decorated rooms, tasty and diverse breakfast and beautiful surroundings. Nada and Carlo are helpful, kind and cheerful people.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I could not possibly rate the kindness and hospitality of Nada and Carlo enough. They went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. We traveled throughout Europe for weeks, and because of Carlo and Nada, Siena was by FAR our favorite spot. Accidentally, I booked a train ticket to Florence instead of Siena-- which we only realized once Carlo was already at the Siena train station waiting for us. Nada patiently stayed on the phone with me while we sorted out the travel details, and was so kind about the mix up. She sent Carlo to go get us when we arrived WAY later than planned at the Siena train station, and had delicious fresh cheese and meat and bread ready for us on our arrival. We hadn't booked a car (I would DEFINITELY recommend getting one because we could have seen so much more of Siena), but Nada and Carlo were so helpful in accommodating us anyway, going so far as to drive us into Siena on multiple days and even show us around some of their favorite parts of the town. In short, in the few short days we were there, Nada and Carlo felt like family. Not to mention their gorgeous property and the incredible walks we were able to take at sunset around the neighborhood. Please stay at Casa Certosa. You will NOT regret it!
Cons: Honestly, nothing. This was just a lovely stop on our vacation. The only thing I would say is make sure you rent a car so you can see everything you want to see!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an incredible property! A lot of thought has been put into every detail for guests to feel welcome and at home. Nada and Carlo were very kind, helpful and made our days there even more special!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely stay! What a beautiful place with a nice view over the wineyards from our room. Nada is very good host! She makes a very nice breakfast. And she put out sunningchairs in the garden for us :) It's very nice spot to relax. There are 2 good restaurants on walking distance from the house: Certosa di Pontignano (old monastry) and restaurant la piccarda. Siena is very close by as well. We would definitely recommend this place!
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Location and charm of the Palazzo! We got the experience of a private house, the charm of traditional lifestyle of Tuscany. We felt at home by the staff. Very thoughtful and available to book us the best restaurants and advice on where to go next on our Tuscany trip. We got 2 rooms that were connected by the balcony and had a great view of Siena (as seen on palazzo pictures)
Cons: Everything great, even value for money spent. Only thing I would recommend is to not travel with a lot of suitcases, because the elevator is quite small. However the charm of the place is taking the stone stairs :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A beautifully grand apartment in a former palazzo newly renovated and made into a hotel with four rooms. Ours was the former master bedroom. Perfectly located in the centre of Old Siena. A substantial breakfast was available in a caffetteria on the ground floor, with the locals having their morning espresso. The former living room was available to the guests, and also a small rooftop balcony for a late drink. Well worth trying.

Cons: Everything was absolutely perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners Jacamo and Lorenzo were so welcoming and helpful. They made our touring of Tuscany a highlight of our month long trip.
Cons: I didn't like the right corner of the gate facing out toward traffic and because of its historical designation it can't be modified. It took out my right rear door panel and undercarriage. Be advised: Pullout into the left hand on coming traffic when clear to avoid this mishap. Do NOT cut sharply left or right when making a turn. Pull straight out till you are clear of the gate.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Boutique Hotel in a quiet location, including parking space
Cons: Everything was perfect

Pros: Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Villa and garden are really nice with view of Siena and Tuscan landscape. Walk to Center is about 20 minutes.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nothing better than this gorgeous location. The place is not in the town, but Middle of Val d'Orcia. We couldn’t believe that we were relaxing in salt water (no chlorine) swimming pool with 360 degrees panorama view of Val d'Orcia at the end of hot day. We reserved this place one night, but decided to stay one more night. We are totally amazed and attracted! This is the best place on our 2 weeks trip we stayed several places. Owner couple are SUPERR NICE!! They (and dogs and cats) are very friendly and welcome us always. Our morning start with their smile and great cappuccino and nice breakfast. (Frittatta was soooo good!) Room is very clean and has nice view. They come out and small chat every morning and when we come back from day trip. They have decent wine selection to buy and served with real good wine glasses. We were watching beautiful sunset at their elevated terrace with nice Brunello di Montalcino. My old sandal was going to falling apart, but it’s so comfortable and I wanted to keep wearing them while the trip. I asked if they had glue I could borrow. Instead, he repair it. He put the glue and pressed by clamp overnight for me, and brought next morning. Thank you, so much Luciano!! We experienced beautiful nature and beautiful people. They let us think what is blessed life. We definitely come back and stay longer next time.

Pros: The location was perfect for exploring little hill towns, castles and drinking wines. I also loved the tranquility of the property, so beautiful and peaceful.

Located in Castelnuovo Berardenga, Hotel Le Fontanelle is in the historical district and within the region of Piazza del Campo and Circolo Golf Ugolino. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, limo/town car service, and a computer station. Free valet parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fontanelle is an absolutely stunning hotel with views that are breathtaking. The hotel is a beautifully classic hotel with gorgeous bvlagari shower products in the room. If your looking for a trendy modern hotel this wouldn’t be your type of place. If you like beauty, stunning views and timeless elegance this is the hotel for you. You do need a car for this hotel - there are lots of stunning villages to see. The service here is excellent. This hotel was created by a lady who is now 88 and she was a designer - she still comes to the property most days ... what a lovely lady. They also have they’re own winery with a great selection.
Cons: There isn’t really anything I can fault about this hotel other than I do agree with another guests comments that given the price of the room per night - you should not have to pay extra for their eggs menu.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was fantastic and very courteous. Location and scenery was out of this world.
9.5 Excellent
Cons: Good breakfast but ... - you have to pay €6 extra for pancakes and €10 extra for poached eggs ! This is really stingy when I payed €440 per night for 5 nights !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was perfect from the moment we arrived. The staff, location, rooms and restaurant all exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for a Tuscan luxury escape, then look no further.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel. We had a suite which was perfect when travelling with a 19 year old. We all had space and two bathrooms. Very relaxed and incredibly maintained! Cycling in the area was excellent as well. Service, food and facilities truly 5 star.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff extremely friendly and helpful, views amazing, grounds immaculate
Cons: Bed sheets uncomfortable, two pools - both cold and not heated
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very warm and friendly. The property is exquisite. The accommodation and food was superb. The service was excellent. We were fortunate to meet the owner. She is absolutely lovely.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place, really great service.
Cons: Breakfast isn’t what you would expect in a place like this. The choice is limited and doesn’t change. It’s well below what you usually have in Italy. Disappointing considering the price.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Beautiful grounds, and staff was extremely helpful and tried very hard to make our stay as good as possible.
Cons: We booked this hotel for our first anniversary as a special hotel, and found it outdated with uncomfortable rooms and bathrooms. The breakfast in the morning was unappetizing-a standard hotel continental breakfast, which is fine but for the price of the stay we expected better. The beds and bedding were stiff and the bathrooms entirely outdated. There was little attention to detail.
Hotel Palazzetto Rosso - Siena - Building

9.6 Excellent (59 reviews)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcome Room Breakfast City center People
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible place with excellent staff
Cons: Nothing it was amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We upgraded to a suite which was AMAZING! It had to have one of the BEST views of Siena. The suite was spacious, chic, and comfortable. There are just 9 rooms in this former grand home so the staff is extremely attentive and friendly. Upon check in they provided a list of local restaurants and made a reservation for us immediately. The hotel, during renovation, maintained many of the original family’s homes historical features, but now includes modern decor. The breakfast was perfect as were the “welcome” drinks and snacks. Truly a GEM!!
Cons: We cannot think of anything we would change. Our only regret was not having more than one night here. It was the perfect end to our months stay in Italy!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and breakfast. Beautiful building.
Cons: Thin walls and could hear the music and conversation from the room next door. Hot water was not working so had a cold shower but could not face washing my hair!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location and the unusual room !
Cons: If we stayed again we would ask for a room at the back , as the front was a little noisy when we had the windows open !
5.8 Okay
Pros: Very well located
Cons: Cold room despite the effort of the reception lady to turn on the heat, it did not work. In the bathroom, the towel dryer did not work either and there was not any adapter for using the hair dryer. At last, despite what it says on the site, the bed was not a king size but 160cms (versus 200 for a king size).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a superb hotel, choc full of character, right in the heart of Siena. The building is spectacular and the owners have juxtaposed a modern, eclectic decor within 13th century walls. Some practicality has been sacrificed to design - filing cabinets don't really make the best wardrobes! - but overall the effect is fun, fresh and unique. Breakfast is a nice selection of fruits, cold meats, cheeses and pastries and the coffee is excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and I hope to return in the future.
Cons: Unfortunately the hotel had some issues with its hot water system when we were there, not unreasonable given that the building is 700 years old and trying to cope with 21st century needs, which is why I awarded four rather than five stars for facilities. The staff and management did everything they could to compensate for the inconvenience so full marks for customer service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, the staff was AMAZING, and the accommodations were outstanding! Totally LOVED Hot Palazzo Rosso.
Cons: We liked everything. The only down side was poor planning on our part. We arrived later than anticipated and the Palazzo Rosso was harder to find in the dark...given the confines of the city of Sienna. Luckily, a kind of angry (but cute!) local business owner saw us driving by more than once and came out to tell us we couldn't drive in Sienna...but then directed us to the Hotel P.R. only 50 meters away! where Marco and staff got us situated (and parked) for our 5 day stay. The location was perfect and central to the city. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding boutique hotel just off the main drag in Siena. We stayed on the top floor suite which has stunning views of the town. Great staff, breakfast spread. They were very helpful with a valet parking service which is very useful if you have a car.
Cons: The only thing I can think of is the lack of a fixture to hold the shower head. But with the amazing views from the bathtub we tended to have long baths instead!

Cons: Leaving.

Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size with a wonderful view of the countryside. Large beautiful outside area for breakfast and relaxing. The breakfast offerings were good and you could get a drink at just about any time day or night. The location was perfect - in the city but a bit off the beaten path with restaurants close by. A short walk to Piazza del Campo and Duomo. We’d stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was walking distance from the center, and offered both free and private parking (at a charge of 20 euro per day). The hotel is beautiful and historical and staff are super friendly and nice. The breakfast was good quality and fresh. I would definitely go back to this hotel!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This former palazzo is a secret gem in the heart of Siena's old city but on a very quiet street away from the busy shops and restaurants. There is a gorgeous garden with balcony overlooking the Tuscan valley below with chirping birds and bubbling fountain where an excellent breakfast buffet is served (heaven!), and lovely sitting rooms with antique furniture and hand-painted ceilings. Our room was large and spacious, and had a beautiful bathroom with fantastic shower. The front desk staff was very helpful and provided restaurant recommendations and umbrellas for rain. There is also a very convenient secure parking lot down the steps behind the property. This was one of our favorite stops on a two week trip thru Italy and Corsica. Too short, but we'll be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, with character - nice and quiet on the edge of the tourist centre, but less than 10 minutes walk to be right in the middle of town. View from the garden is fabulous, make sure you have sundown drinks!
Cons: Nothing to comment on.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice lady, excellent breakfast and coffee. The room was spacious and decent, also the bathroom was very functional. The B&B is very well located-if you have a car, so you park easily and free just outside and have immediate access to the ring road.
7.0 Good
Pros: Facilities pretty good
Cons: Location overlooking a busy roundabout was far from romantic
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Place was great location good Very clean
Cons: Road a bit awkward to cross but ok
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really clean and comfortable. Staff were really welcoming. The shutters and double glazing really keep the sound out. The breakfast was good and the staff really attentive.
Cons: At first glance the location on a Roundabout is a little worrying. Not a great view.
7.0 Good
Pros: The finishings were modern and the room was nice and large.
Cons: Our booking stated that breakfast was including - however when we got there we found out that it was 2 pieces of packet toast and some tea - we needed to pay an extra €5 per person to have a proper breakfast which I found was very cheeky when it stated breakfast was included.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice and clean room. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: No parking on premises, need to find a place on a street (parking is free there, though). Also, a bit noisy as it's located next to a roundabout. Breakfast is good but didn't include fresh vegetables and fruits.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything it was fantastic!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the Railway Station, nice Italian restaurant next door, good hostess. I am a man of 60 and walked from Siena Old Town Square back to the hotel on a hot afternoon. Difficult but manageable.
Cons: Not well sign posted. I drove there and had to park car and ask in nearby shop for exact location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: After receiving a ticket 8 months after visiting Parma, I prefer staying outside a "ZTL" zone so Domus ill Palio was a good choice for us. Less than a 15 minute walk to Piazza Del Campo. Very nice staff. Good breakfast. Overall, a 5 star experience for me. Free parking on the street just a short distance away.
Cons: I have no complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The reception, the accomodations, the breakfast, the care with the client.
Cons: The parking place is on the street. So, it's necessary lucky to park near the bed and breakfast.

Pros: Great experience !! Thank you Federico and Giuliana for these 2 weeks. Best choice around Sienna !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was clean, and the facilities were super! The view was amazing and all the great locations (Siena, Montalcino, Montepulciano) were within 30-40 min drive. The city of Monteroni has a well equipped Coop. Last but certainly not least, Federico was a super host. He was so helpful and smiling and we felt home here. The other guest were very friendly! We are certainly coming back!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hosts. Great location to explore famous Tuscany towns like Siena(20 min) , and other towns were within one hour drive. The apartment was tastefully decorated and spacious for 4 people. (looks exactly like on the picture). We should've stayed here when pool opens up! The view above from the pool area was really nice. Thank you Federico for your well hospitality !
Cons: Kitchen area could be better with some spring cleaning like wiping down inside the cabinet and re-caulking the sink area. Basic condiments like oil, sugar, vinegar was missing. I didn't care much about those so did not ask - the host came in later to check if there's anything we need so I if I did ask for them, I'm sure that could've been taken care of =)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was nice, view from the pool, clean and confortable appartments, short way to Monteroni village.
Cons: —-
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We found a very nice and optimally furnished apartment for a family of four. Everything is in good shape. The host was extremely nice and helpful. The apartment is located outside a little town with good services, very quiet. Very nice and well kept surroundings, good view of the tuscan hills. Good location to visit the villages and towns of Tuscany.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Federico was a very nice host and was always very mindful. The place looks exactly like in the pictures and the garden is really beautiful, luckily the pool was still open and we could enjoy it! Very quiet place with a lot of space (for children to play, to hang laundry, to grill, etc...).
Cons: The bedroom smelled a bit wet and the mattress was not the most comfortable one, but this was not a problem for us. During the days we stayed there were many mosquitoes!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool and it's setting was amazing. The host was very welcoming and the grounds beautiful. A great place for kids and good location for exploring central Tuscany.
Cons: Would have been good to have a few basics in ie. Washing up liquid, washing powder, dishwasher tablets etc. Towels for swimming pool would have been useful also.

Pros: The staff was really friendly, from check-in to answering any questions we had. When busy, parking can be a bit tight but staff were very helpful (it was free so no complaints). Breakfast had a wide variety of choices and was good. The location we thought was excellent as the hotel is within the city walls and very quiet at night but only a short walk to the town centre. Their outdoor terrance was excellent for dinner and or just sitting back for a drink later in the evening - beautiful views of the town and the Tuscan countryside. The hotel sent us driving instructions a couple of days prior to arrival which we found extremely helpful! Overall great place to stay in Siena.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all helpful pleasant and willing to assist and happy to please. We had a lovely time. Great bed. Fabulous breakfast. Close to lots of interesting places. We will recommend!
Cons: Wifi that didn’t drop out when you were having breakfast would be the only thing I can think of. Wifi worked well in the rooms. If the pool were open until ten for adults only perhaps. We didn’t get use of it because we were out everyday. There is a bit of sound travel between rooms but most evenings we were not bothered. Not a bad list of improvements.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Sangallo is a good choice, if you do not want to be in the centre of Siena. Clean, nice hotel with very helpfull staff.
7.0 Good
Pros: We were given a free upgrade. I forgot my pillows in the room and the staff put them away for me to collect.

Pros: The place is really amazing. Views, sunsets and a whole facility looks like you can forget which times you live. We had it like a place to sleep only, but for next time we definitely will use it as a place to rest and enjoy the whole facility during our stay. Olive trees and grape hills looks defilnitely amazing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place. If I could give it an 11 I would. Ageless beauty combines with modern luxury. Outstanding breakfast. Wonderful staff
9.5 Excellent
Pros: After two days in Siena it was just perfect place to chill out. Place “is in the middle of noware” but this is the beauty of this hotel. To get relaxed.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast is good with variety of choices. Location is really good as there are other wineyards, castles and restaurants very close to monastery via 5-15min drive. Interior, chapel and gardens are beautiful, if you like to stay in a historic place that is the right one. Rooms decoration is very old and takes you to ages ago.
Cons: There is no air conditioner in the rooms, during the summer it was really difficult to sleep in hot nights. (However rooms have several air ventilators but they are not any good when the temp is over 30C). There are a lot of mosquitoes, ants and small lizards all the time in the room. The wine shop closes around 23:00, if you want to stay late at the garden with some drink you have to buy before and help yourself. Room decorations was made long ago, can be retrofitted, especially the cupboards are really old and not smelling nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. Very unique and simply wonderful place.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place in the middle of the fiels. Very nice and fresh air. Beautiful historical place. Love to come back and relax more at this place.
Cons: The bathroom is quite old!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a marvelous experience!!! It was much better than expected and way better than the photos in the description. Everything's was sparkling clean, the service was top quality and the food in the restaurant delicious. We only had two nights at this place but we agreed that it deserves a holiday for itself. Next time we will probably take a week to enjoy the whole experience (the Italian gardens, the church, the vineyards and the olive orchards around the area..the architecture..and the peaceful atmosphere), with a good book and a local wine. This was without exageration one of the highlights of our tour in Italy.
Cons: There's absolutely nothing that I can think of. Everything was spectacular!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great view from the room, very tasty breakfast (you can even see Siena from the terrace), very helpful staff and amazing atmosphere of the monastery!
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is peaceful and very special. It's like being in an enchanted world. Spectacular views, manicured gardens, charming chapel, romantic nooks all around the grounds. Breakfast was delicious and abundant. The bar in the interior courtyard was perfect for after dinner drinks. The room was simple, but nice. Staff is extremely helpful and eager to please.
Cons: There are not many dining options near to the property, so be prepared to drive.

Pros: Clean, room with a traditional style. Fabulous little balcony with table & chairs, overlooking garden. Location perfect. Breakfast plentiful. Bright room included was aircon.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very clean and well located.
Cons: Old fashioned and very plain and dark.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness, balcony. Breakfast was just outside our room and it was a good typical Italian breakfast. Plenty for the two of us. Close enough to the train station, I’d say it was a 15-20m walk with our suit cases. Slight slope heading to the B&B and much easier walk back to the station. It’s just inside the wall, and very close to the main section of the old town shopping, restaurants and Campo. You can easily walk back for a rest and head back out again.
Cons: Not really. Internet didn’t work the second day after 12pm. Luciana helped but in the end I didn’t have internet that evening. It was ok for the 1 night without.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The friendliness and energy of the property manager. The location was excellent.
Cons: The cleanliness and state of disrepair of the facilities. The paint above the shower is pealing and the bathroom is generally damp. The curtains in the bedroom is extremely dusty, the white net curtain is actually grey. The air-conditioner is very noisy and the temperature cannot be set, neither can it be turned off. The filters on the air-conditioner are in serious need of cleaning. This can be an excellent facility if liitle bit of effort is spent on minor repairs and cleaning.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Easy walking distance to the centre, but not inside it. Excellent mini-breakfast just outside our door. Luciana is a wonderful hostess/owner.
Cons: WIFI and AC were not working.
7.5 Good
Pros: A nice quiet house just right before you enter a main pedestrian street. Room spacious and clean.
Cons: We would prefer if there was less plastic being used during a breakfast, the plates, spoons, forks were all plastic, not very eco-friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very handy to Siena centre, lovely big room. Very clean and tidy. Luciano was very helpful with restaurant suggestions which were fantastic.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building and very pleasant room, mostly quiet with garden view.

Stuff was really kind and helpful. Our apartment was large and the bed really comfy (not so frequent in old fashioned apartments). To the right you can see the hotel and 10 minutes walk from there to the left you enter the city center. The crew is friendly and helpful, the interiour is charming and kind of Retro, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is lovely and very generous. Everything is offered you can think of eating for breakfast. The hotel and especially the people are absolutly charming and we can definetely recommend the hotel to everyone.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Italia is really lovely. I had a small room on the 4th floor with some great views. The hotel is located at the top of all the escalators above the train station which is very accessible when you aren’t traveling by car. Many transportation options are available nearby. There is a laundromat across the street if you need it. The front desk is open 24/7. Everyone was very accommodating with me asking for ice all the time – I’m a West Coast Canadian and it was 34+. Air conditioning worked great. It’s a bit of a walk to the Cathedral and Campo but who cares! It’s Siena, the streets are amazing!
Cons: The breakfast was a little hit or miss. The fresh fruit salads weren't very fresh or the fruit wasn't ripe. Hot dogs for breakfast? I'm thinking they were supposed to be sausages but they looked and smelled like hot dogs to me. There were a lot of choices at the breakfast but much of it was very processed - except for the chocolate sauce, we always need more chocolate sauce at breakfast!
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was close to the train station and a nice walk to the plaza.
