Given the proximity of the airport the hotel was remarkably quiet. The overall atmosphere was one of calmness and relaxation. The staff polite and helpful. The main attraction as far as my children were concerned were Vanilla and Tiger. All in all a really welcoming Hotel
The outside pool is a great asset. breakfast was adequate (not the best we had, but the food was wonderful in the evenings, especially the fish and the 'fig tart'. The owners were very helpful and even gave us a lift to the airport. Although some aspects of the room need updating, such as the bathroom, it was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable,
Calm, relaxing atmosphere; very charming rustic building but quite sophisticated decor/ambience. Was worried about being so near an airport but only saw one plane and it wasn't very loud. Although only a stopover we all wanted to return for a holiday! although food was overall good, with a very nice breakfast, some disappointments at dinner (poor quality steak; over-peppered duck)
We stayed one night between destinations. We enjoyed the pool and the restaurant. There is nothing special about the location.
friendly & helpful reception staff. beautiful pool restaurant not open
Very friendly staff and excellent evening meal. Very convenient for Nimes airport.
The staff were very freindly and helpful, the food was very very nice and not expensive, the pool area was great . The hotel does have traffic noise .
The loungers around the pool were amazing....bean bags and hammocks!. And I loved being waited on around the pool. The food at the restaurant was very tastey. A 3 course meal with some unusual choices but delicious all the same. Catered well for kids with less discerning palates. Little english spoken but just about enough to get by. The rooms were large and airey with air conditioning and wonderfully large showers. Quiet area but still close enough to Nimes airport which is a fabulous location for early morning flights. An excellent find which I would definitely recommend. no
It was a beautiful and charming place to stay. The pool was large, lovely and clean. The pool area was well equipped with hammocks, chaise lounges and the staff provided pool towels. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room and bed were comfortable and clean.
Good food, nice pool and attractive outside eating area. Room decor getting a little shabby,in need of redecoration.
Food is excellent, and the hotel is very nicely decorated.
The location and environment great, warm welcome and very commited couple who leads the hotel. The choice of the three course menu in the evening is very limited if the stay at the hotel is longer then 3 days
The hotel location, the silence, the cleanliness, the excellent dinner and breakfast. I was appalled by the reaction of the manager/owner when I said that our 7-year old son needed to stay in our room - no separate room for a 7-year old kid !! The manger threatened to get us pay the full amount and to throw us out. I come to france for more than 30 years but I never was "welcomed" in such a way. This hotel is hostile towards kids and families.
the gardens and the pool area, the attention of the owners Our room was too small
La Bastide is close to Avignon and the Rhone in a pretty Provencal village and is set in beautiful grounds with a welcoming, refreshing swimming pool. The rooms are attractive with contemporary decor and dinner outside on the terrace was memorable (for all the right reasons!)
The setting was beautiful, the accommodation was excellent and the ambience was very peaceful and relaxing. While the food, drinks and other services are of good quality, they are also significantly over-priced and not value for money.
The hotel was pretty, modern and clean. We had a meal there on one evening and that was very nice also. One of the two managers spoke English and both were friendly and efficient. We stayed in four different 3* hotels in Southern France during our recent holiday, and this was the most expensive and had the smallest room. The pool was nice, but was not especially large and was shaded for much of the day. Boulbon is a 'typical' French village but the general vicinity is a little 'industrial' and there isn't much to do nearby, so you really need to drive to Avignon or St Remy (about 20mins away) for alternative meal destinations.
This was a most attractive building and hotel in a tiny village. The decor was wonderful and gardens peaceful We were a group of eight with separate bookings but there was confusion in the assignment of rooms for the appropriate rates
Staff was very friendly, dinner and breakfast were excellent - the French kitchen lived up to its reputation, it is a place of rest and peace No dinner on Sundays
this was a wonderful place to stay--service was great--lovely dining facilities (small) and delicious food. I would highly recommend this to couples of all ages.
There's a great chef, who performs wonders with dinner, although he clearly doesn't have much say in the breakfast, which was mediocre at best! The waiting staff were very nice. We enjoyed our stay here 5 years ago while on honeymoon, when we had a very nice room with a balcony - and wanted to come back. Sadly, things have changed dramatically, with Laurent & Cristia, the managing couple back in 2005, now long gone. Lots of faults: the room my wife and I had was miniscule (suited to a single person of slight stature with no luggage), but actually bigger than the cubicle we got before we complained! The place had a shabby appearance, and the carpet certainly wouldn't encourage barefoot walking. The cramped toilet was usable only if you practice yoga! The reception staff were mostly courteous, but were not overly friendly and gave the impression of being poorly-treated and thus indifferent. Definitely not worth the 97-euro nightly rate. The unattractive suburban location wasn't a factor for us, as we drove to the nice places in Provence, but would be for many.
Good hotel,if you come by car and need place to sleep ,not to stay in room.A lot of interesting places to see around.Small rooms, but clean.Good food need renovation.
Good hotel, close to the city and with a good, smaller swimming pool. Very nice and professional staff during our stay. The parking spaces could be better.
very friendly and attentive staff furnishings in bedroom were a bit tired.
The friendliness of the staff and the relaxed atmosphere. N/A
Hotel staff helpful and very friendly.Excellent breakfast-buffet.Internet availability. Air condition not in function. Too warm.Leaking of sink in bathroom. Poor water-pressure. Toilet not fastened properly. Dinner not worthy compared to price.
very nice place, with comfortable rooms, lovely staff, and a fabulous pool
Not too far away from local attractions as a base but you needed a car. Carpark free and safe, lovely pool open all the time and clean. Very basic room, basic bathroom tiny bath, lift not working, staff didn't speak hardly any english (hard when trying to order food - not meaning to sound fussy but 7months pregnant and needed to be very careful about what I ate) - some staff did try. Facing quite a busy road therefore noisy.
The hotel was a small, charming Provencal hotel. Our room was a nice size and comfortable just off a cozy sitting area at the end of the stairs. The owners were friendly and very helpful. They recommended an excellent restaurant that served the local cuisine at a very reasonable price.
The rooms and the sitting area were beautiful and very spacious. We were surprised at what the town offered with a great castle and view of another city, but also surprised at the overall feeling of the city (not as nice as you would expect for the niceness of the hotel). Our room was skipped in cleaning and the hostess seemed very stressed out in her interactions with us. Although we had a balcony (which we paid for) you weren't allowed to bring food or drinks out there to enjoy it.
This quaint hotel was delightful. While not having all of the luxuries of higher priced accommodations, the staff was great, the setting was lovely, the room was adequate for our needs. The beds are older and the room decor is out of date. Keep in mind this place must be 100 years old or more.
The host and hostess are very friendly the shower room is unexceptional small and old.
Well situated for visiting the pretty town (apart from close to railway with infrequent trains). Friendly, helpful staff. Very hot room during summer (no aircon, attic). In need of a little maintenance (paint peeling in shower...)
good price, clean room showers was 2 stege below the room
the location is not good. It's not so convenient to get there..there is not many places for sightseeing nearby or even a restaurant...the worst thing is that on the day I arrived I already told the staff that I would check out the next morning, they still charge me for the second night from my credit card...do I have to live there for two nights even if I don't like there? do I have to pay for the second night that I didn't even live?
extremly plesant hotel, nice, very clean, romantic, lovely place to stay. I recommend it. nothing
The town, where the hotel is situated, is nice and quiet. The staff was very helpful and hospitable. We arrived later than official checking in hours, but nevertheless we successfully checked in. There is a terrace with tables near the hotel. There is free parking places, which were seen through the windows of the room. The breakfast is served in the rooms. The town is rather close to The Pont du Gard. There was no air conditioning in the room, only fan. The bathroom was rather small.
Friendly, good service. Rooms clean, Bed very comfortable Shower old and difficult to slide screens shut. Kept coming off from runners.
The couple running the hotel are really friendly and helpful. The terrace is quite nice. The price is hard to beat considering hotels in the area are expensive. The reception closes a little bit early at 8pm. We had to rush to get there on time. The room is hot in the summer.
It has a very good restaurant. The staff done all they could to make our stay pleasent. No bad points.
In the centre of town, near bus stop for Nimes, Pont du Gard & Avignon. Hotel was nice, typical french style with lots of character. No canoe hire available as suggested on your web-site.
I found the staff very helpful as I could not speak much french There does not appear to be facilities for young children I had lot of difficulty finding milk for my granddaughter 2yrs old
Nice room, but was accessed along a smelly street. Breakfast room was shabby. We would not come again.
We used the family room (really 2 rooms) with an extra bed added for the 3rd child. It was very clean, not far from the Pont du Gard, and had a lot of local charm. The people who run it were very relaxed, charming and helpful, and it made for a particularly enjoyable 2-night stay. We ate in the restaurant one evening and thought the food very good. Its small so doesn't feel like an 'industrial' hotel, and we thought it excellent value The family room is overlooking the road and, even with the double-glazed windows and shutters shut, there is some road noise - especially when lorries go by. It didn't bother us much, and certainly didn't spoil our stay, but its probably better to know about it in advance
Good budget hotel for short staying...we had a quadruple room and it was really comfortable, nice place...it's 20 minutes from Avignone
The room was recently updated. The parking garage was too small to properly fit any mid-sized car and involved moving cars to let those parked behind out. The tiny shower!
good restaurant - excellent food
cleanliness of room and bathroom, room decoration, AC; very good position in center village small triple room
