The hotel is nice and situated close to the little village Grignan, a very nice little place. Although the hotel restaurant was good, very nicely situated in the hotel garden, we certainly also enyoed dinner in a few other restaurants in Grignan.
Top hospitality; top atmosphere; top service; beautiful (non chloric) swimmingpool and terras; wonderful village!
Great ambiance, clean, young,, friendly enthusiastic staff. Loved the food: excellent continental breakfast and the dinners were great too. Very French ( this is a compliment).
Excellent very helpful staff with good/very good english, good food, great room. Lovely setting no lift in 3 storey annex
The hotel was chic in a French country house style and the staff were very helpful. The village has narrow streets and restaurants. No complaints
Very friendly staff. Lovely room. Breakfast plentiful and served in a lovely white linen breakfast room with silver pots for tea and coffee. Very close to the village centre which has many places to eat to cover all budgets.
Great atmosphere and fabulously decorated and peaceful rooms. Lovely garden to have breakfast. Short walk to a dozen restaurants.
The hotel is lovely and so is the village. The staff was kind and helpful. There is no elevator although the stairs are charming.
The pool was not built...
Very charming and authentic hotel. Very nicely decorated and furnished. Quiet. Great garden. In a agreable village
The location is magnificent. The restaurant is excellent. The room was comfortable and we would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was very basic for euro 12.50.
This was our second visit - charming atmosphere, excellent food, nice swimming pool, wonderful view from roof top where breakfast and dinner are served in summer. Interesting pretty mediaeval village to explore. Very enjoyable stay.
Beautiful location, lovely village, excellent terrace restaurant. Very pleasant, helpful staff. As there was no a/c, probably rarely needed anyway, a fan would have been good on very hot night - none available.
Great Hotel. Wished we could have stayed longer. Our room opened out onto a patio overlooking the pool. Be sure to have dinner. Food was excellent. And breakfast served on the rooftop terrace was very tasty.
Rooms individually furnished with antique French furniture. Superb meal in the restaurant and extensive wine list to suit all budgets. ( The sparkling wine was particularly good value )
The ambiance and location, we had a suite with a walk out garden, really good, access a little hard for less mobile people. Thought the breakfast was a little below standard.
The drive to the location and arrival at the location and the walkout suite to the grassed garden. Breakfast a bit meager for Canadians
We liked the quiet location and the ambience of the medieval village. It was relaxing to walk around the buildings and surrounding countryside as well as enjoy the fine dining at the restuarant in the evening. Only a small suggestion to improve the signage to the property as we found it difficult locating the place.
The setting was incredibly beautiful
The location of the hotel is very picturesque and the staff were flexible with breakfast requests. Reception staff were very helpful. The room was very cramped with an additional bed, which was not of adequate size for a person in excess of 5'. There was no airconditioning and when the windows were opened we were joined by 2 bats(chauve souris) causing much mirth and anguish at the same time!!
Spacious room with great airco (no noise at all, just fresh air). Breakfast is good (but expensive). Lots of parkingspace. Breakfast is expensive. The whole hotel is a bit dated. We had a view on the parkinglot and there is only a bath with no possibility to take a shower in it. It's a bit to expensive for a 3 star hotel.
I highly appreciated the friendlyness of the management run by the owners of the hotel themselves. They always were friendly, committed, uncomplicated and reliable.
Clean, easy to find, parking, helpfull staff. More like a motel.Functional but no character and quite expensive.Need car to get into village which is stunning.
The two brothers who run the hotel did not seem to like doing their job. They always seemed to be a "bad" mood. Maybe they did not like Americans. I stayed there three years ago and the front desk was run by college students who were always eager to help and enjoyed answering my questions. The rooms were clean and the property is very well maintained. The hotel is just outside Grignan (about a 10 minute walk). It is a good value and I would recommend it.
hotel is in a great location , excellent management and comfortable rooms. The gourmet restaurant is a bit of a joke , unless you like less than average cooking, many garnishes which looked like miniature trees, and a totally Basil Fawlty bar manager/ host.
A nice small hotel in a quiet isolated location but very close to Grignan and direct access on the main Montélimar - Valreas road. Excellent breakfast and friendly hotel staff. Be aware that the "woods looking" rooms are in fact looking the hotel parking lot. This is however not such a problem as there aren't so many rooms and car movement.
Location, pool, quietness The room was very clean indeed but smelt of tobacco...
Clean modern rooms, very close to interesting old village and castle, exceptional restaurant at a reasonable price. No
very quiet, romantic country side
This hotel is so quite. Even at the swimming pool people were wispering to respect the silence. Good meals. 35 degrees outside and no air conditioning : keep the windows closed during the day and open everything widely at night to get some fresh air.
Le Moulin is a beautiful, remote hotel surrounded by vineyards. Make sure to plan a dinner in the hotel restaurant, it's fabulous.
Beautiful, nice atmosphere, friendly personnel, nice pool, very French breakfast.
evening dinner is superb, top cuisine, unexpexted in such a county location. Bed linen very clean and beds good quality. Homely not grand but stay again The swimming pool would have needed cleaning out leaves etc so we could not have a swim
Extremely warm and flexible staff ready to help and be of assistance. Great location for wine lovers. Everything was perfect.
Dinner/breakfast on the terrace, friendly service and close enough to the Autoroute which makes it a great place to stop when heading down South. The room was very spacious, only the bathroom was rather small in comparison.
Excellent location. Food good. Room and bathroom a little small; would benefit being air conditioned.
The food was good
The swimming pool is very nice and the rooms are spacious but a bit average. The restaurant serves nice food. We did not like the motorway to be in sight. We think the word chateau is misleading as there is nothing like that around. Price/quality is not right. We have stayed in better hotels this holiday at a lower rate.
We got lost in Montelimar and were so glad to finally make it to Chateau Hotel Du Monard. The welcome was friendly and our room pleasant with a nice view. The "castle tower" is more of a decoration but is very cute and lends atmosphere. We did not play golf but the golf course looked gorgeous as we drove through it. We ate both on the terrace and in the dining room and found the food reasonable though not gourmet. The hotel gave easy access for exploring the Cotes du Rhone. We would recommend it to friends. The only things we did not like were the cost of playing nine holes of golf and my food (braised lamb shank) the first night we were there was undercooked, tough and not hot. All the other food was OK and they were very busy that night after a golf tournament. We felt we could have been supplied with more than one tiny piece of soap for a two day stay and the kleenexes could have been replaced.
Wonderful setting for dining - overlooking golf course. Good menus.
The staff and general comfort of the hotel Only the directions to it
Nice atmosphere No greenfee offers for guests
The location on a golf coiurse was very good, but not well signposted, unusual for France! The food let down the hotel, it was poorly cooked and did not come with any extra vegetables other than the one accompanying veg.
The location on a beautiful golf course and the view from our room. The food in the restaurant was disappointing. The mattress on the bed was also quite hard and uncomfortable.
This is a wonderful place for a weekend stay. We stayed for one night while travelling back from holiday in South East France. The setting is lovely, very relaxing sitting on the terrace watching the golfers trying to avoid the lake! Had a very good meal in the restaurant and there was an excellent choice in the breakfast buffet the following morning. Would definitely return if in the area again.
It is set amongst beautiful lavender fields and I felt I was staying in a provincial farmhouse. Good for exploring the area. The poor provisions for breakfast especially when taking into consideration the cost of this meal. We stayed in six different hotels in France and this was the poorest breakfast but the most expensive
The Price of the breakfast, Did not take breakfast due to Cost when compared to similar hotels we have stayed in
Beautiful place. Very quiet among trees. Impressive swimming pool. The Google place marker is not quite right. The cliffs at Chantermerle-les-Grignan (close to the hotel) are of geological importance, a key location for the lower Myocene.
Very good location and excellent food, nice people.
La tranquilidad. Un ruido de motor en una de las habitaciones durante toda la tarde y noche
Excellent experience, the chef & hostess were extremely friendly & helpful, food was delicious, my husband and I really had a great time!
We did not enjoy our stay at this hotel , it was not satisfying, interesting or special.. It was not a relaxed,, calm, tranquil or quality establishment. The bedroom was basic, hostel type, no curtains, no pictures, no flowers, no soft furnishings. The price was far in excess of value. It is a backpackers establishment charging luxury prices.
