The room was new and clean.
Very helpful staff Breakfast was not particularly good
Charming old town, with courteous staff in a well-located hotel. Excellent value for money and proximity to Pisa airport were determinants for our choice. Fully met expectations. In one night really nothing went wrong.
Nicely redone castello -very close to center- 5 minute walk. Lovely room, comfy and clean. Very helpful staff. Convenient parking. Went for truffle fair, but the truffles were all bought up. Come at the beginning of the festival, not the end.
Location close to business premises.
courteous and helpful staff at reception and free internet use the only thing that could be improved is the service and coffee at breakfast
A beautiful period Hotel, in a central Location in the town centre. Great Atmosphere and very relaxing accomodation - with luxurious and prnate decoration. Very comfortable with easy parking right outside the hotel ( chargeable - but very convenient)
it's a beautiful hotel, well located in the center of the city, near the Duomo, with a very large room and a very comfortable bathing room
Design and interior
Excellent position in downtown, good access and parking. Warm staff.
The quality of the rooms, the breakfast on offer was exellent and the position of the Hotel in Pontedera was great everything was walking distance, shops bars and station.
Room was clean and facilities quite good. Hotel is convenient for flights from Pisa airport.Staff were generally helpful, for instance getting the tv to work properly in our room. No English channels on satellite tv! Shower head needed looking at as sealing ring was hanging loose which made the spray uneven. The hotel can only be reached on one side of a dual carriageway which means you have to travel a mile or so down the road to the next exit and come back up the other way if you are travelling on the wriong side of the dual carriageway. A shorter but similar exercise has to be done to get on the right side of the road to get to Pisa airport in the morning. An alternative entrance to the hotel would be extremely useful! I booked this hotel specifically because it had a restaurant, which had been recommended on trip advisor. We were aghast to find that the restaurant was on summer shut down for three weeks starting the night before we arrived!(Breakfast was still available in the morning). There was no warning of this on the Active hotels website or the hotel's own information website. If I had known this I would have booked at another hotel. I asked for some kind of compensation on the room rate because of this, which the hotel management declined, saying that the website states that the resturant is closed every Sunday night(forget about the three weeks!); the website that I accessed from the uk doesn't say anything about this. By the time you discover this it is too late to cancel the room without a one night charge. We had to use a restaurant in the adjoining service station area (I didn't want to have to drive out anywhere) where my wife contracted food poisoning after eating some lasagne that had been standing around for a while. Great end to the hoilday! Don't think I'll use this hotel again but if you want to phone up and check that the restaurant is going to be open before you book if you want that facility!
E v e r y t h I n g !!!
Beautifully decorated hotel, very new and well-finished. The breakfast was good and we received a good welcome. The directions on the e-mail and on your website were very poor as lacking in detail. A map would of been of use as well. This created a somewhat stressful journey late at night to locate the hotel. The gentleman on reception was very helpful in giving directions but it's not ideal having to ring from a uk mobile as expensive and this could have been avoided by giving decent directions.
The staff was WONDERFUL. We were lost and they called us on our phone to give us directions at 2:00 AM. When we checked out, we left behind in our room, an envelope with 100 Euros, and they called us back to pick it up. Everything was clean and modern, a great discovery. The hotel is difficult to access if you are comming from the opposite direction on the autostrada. However, the staff is very helpful in giving directions.
excellent front desk service, very clean hotel and room and excellent restaurant good location when traveling on the highway none
The staff were excellent and very helpful particularly in calling me after I had inadvertently something behind. I hated the size of the rooms, it was like being in a rabbit hutch. No chair, only a kind of stool under the dressing table. The minibar hanging on the wall was somewhat incongruous and the tv package did not reflect the number of British travellers who must stay there. Access to the hotel coming from Florence was horrendous and after coming back from the Boccelli concert having to drive a long way towards Pisa in order to access the hotel was very unsatisfactory.
It was very good value for money, rooms good and a good central location, if you could find it easily, which was not easy The access off the duel carriageway was extremely difficult, I would not stay at the hotel again or recommend it, which is a shame as everything else is so good. I would suggest a series of signs from Ponderea would help
If you are looking for a relaxing place to escape for a few days this is the perfect place. Miravalle Palace Hotel is in a building which is over 1000 years old situated in the medieval hillside town of San Miniato. A fantastic base while exploring this town. The rooms are well decorated, facilities are excellent. The restaurant serves traditional Tuscany dishes and the staff were friendly and helpful. Not really a complaint as it did not affect us at all however it could be helpful for other customers if english translations were offered for menus and brochures. Also ra little difficult to find - our GPS insisted that it wanted us to drive up a set of stairs to get to the Hotel! Better signage would be a help.
The view from our room was like from a Tuscan storybook.
Out of the six hotels we staying in during our trip around northern Italy this was our favourite. A beautiful hotel located in one of the most original and genuine Tuscany hill villages. Only a handful of tourists, unlike San Giminano or Lucca. Has a real ambience. Very helpful and friendly staff.
The location for the town and the view.
The room was incredible - a fresco painted into sunken wall, with 6 foot high windows that opened to the amazing Tuscan countryside. Unbelievable. The staff treats you like gold. Truly cannot say enough for how comfortable and responsive the staff is - they went above and beyond many times in our short stay.
A very comfortable hotel with a very attentive staff in a superb location
Very nice place but for the price expected a bigger room and bathroom
Lovely building - great cakes! Young guy working afternoon/evening was not very good - had problems with air con and he left it not working after requesting help. Gentleman working late each night solved issue.
Obviously a new manager, who was very professional, pleasant and helpful when it was impossible to find a rental car; all hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant.
The place where the hotel is located and the hotel building itself
The hotel interior is really authentic Tuscan-Style. The house has many corners, stairs, little balconies, hidden seats, etc. It's perfetcly suited for a relaxing stay - with bad weather in the house or with good weather in the garden at the pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful, most speak english or other languages. The included restaurant serves a small but very good and house-made selection of Italian and Tuscan cuisine - either in the garden (at the pool, very romantic!) or in the lower parts of the house with a very nice vault setting. The location is perfectly suited for trips to Pisa, Florenz, or Lucca (45min.). The 4-lane state road is very close, but far enough away to be in an absolutely quiet surrounding. The only (small) issue is about the breakfast: For Italian standards it's quiet extensive for German standards its limited in case of fruits, cheese, meat and also variants of bread and pastries. However, cheese or similar can be ordered on request, the staff always tries to accomodate you.
It was clean, comfortable and good value for money!
Clean, convenient to Pisa airport though not a typical awful airport hotel.
When I made this reservation I though I was staying at La Pace in Pisa, next to the station and close to the airport
Comfortable and large room.
It was very quiet, the bathrooms are new and very clean. The bed are made for a perfect rest which I needed that day. Breakfast was typical italian breakfast which is alwys poor.
We had a wedding in the heart of Tuscany to attend. The hotel was ideal since we were not in the hotel much we just needed somewhere cheap. It was clean, comfortable and very handy for the train station to get to Pisa airport and Florence in the opposite direction although if travelling more into the country of Tuscany a hiring a car would be a good idea. Pontedera was a very pleasant town, a locals town not touristy. More advice for tourists e.g. leaflets, taxi's, transport, recommendations of good restaurents etc or staff with better English to explain these things.
