The location was very central , very convenient to the railway station , and the frequent tram service . great for a short city break Breakfast should be included in the price , dining room not very impressive
location, style, grandeur, service. lack of pool (not expected in a periodic building), noisy air conditioning, lack of tea and coffee making facilities in room.
The location The hotel's lack of help and flexibility when we wanted to change our booking to a different date. This was due to the uncertainty of our flight departures due to the French strikes. the hotel did not try to accommodate our request in any way. we were not trying to cancel, merely rebook for another date
Excellent location next to the main square, within easy walking distance from railway station and all sights. Comfortable bed and pillows. Double glazing blocks out the noise from the square. Clean. Spacious, uncluttered room. Pleasant staff. Interesting original decoration. Decent breakfast, although you could get something cheaper and less substantial from a nearby café. Slow to repair things like lightbulbs. Very little natural light in the public areas (but that's just a personal preference).
The location of this hotel, right on the Place Comedie, is great. For bars/culture/shopping to be right on your doorstep is just what you want in a city break. The car park is very close, under the Place, which was handy. The staff recommended an excellent local restaurant for our first night, Les Bains, two minutes walk from the hotel, and the restaurant next door to the hotel also seemed excellent, though we did not manage to eat there. There is no bar or restaurant at the hotel, and rooms are a little tired. Also, being close to the nightlife has the drawback of being noisy.
Good facilities and friendly staff excellent location
The hotel was centrally located in the town square and close to the tram and parking. Great location
Montpellier is a very fascinating city and Newhotel du Midi with his amazing location just on Place de la Comedie is the perfect place if you want to discover the city center. In the bathroom there weren't either windows or air condition.
It's well located The hotel is not family friendly. We were using a pram for our three month old baby and the stairs in front of the hotel make it difficult to circulate. The hotel is on pedestrian area, so we had to carry all our luggage and baby from the underground parking nearby (which also does not seem to have an elevator) to the hotel. The hotel staff did not offer to help, not even once, even though they were not busy at the time. The staff seemed quite inexperienced and was not very forthcoming in providing information about the location. If you have family, I do not recommend staying at this hotel. There are others nearby, as well-situated and cheaper.
Clean comfortable rooms. Excellent location, lovely views of the main square.
It was located in the old town and was close to everything. The room was extremely small. So small there was no room for our bags and they had to go on the floor at the foot of the bed with a small patch for walking past.
Very good location. Beautiful veranta for breakfast. The view of the gardens and old university is spectacular but from very few rooms only. Not accessible by car. No elevator. The staff was not very friendly and there was a mistake done by the hotel during checking in, that was only announced to us when checking out in a quite rude way by the girl in the reception.
I quite liked the hotel situation. My room was fine but some our group found the rooms on the small side. The staff were very good and helpful.
size and decor of rooms, hotel in a quiet location, but minutes walk from town centre.
Nice location in the historic center of Montpellier in quiet side street. The room was cozy but fairly small. Hence it is a bit difficult to move around in the room if you have a lot of luggage.
almost everything is good nothing
The personnel and the view from the window. The room decor was a strange yellow... not too pleasing on the eye
Great location in old town, surrounded by great restaurants.
Its old worldly charm plus its proximity to the old centre of town Slight worries about how to exit hotel in fire with excess smoke - otherwise fine.
great location in historic area
Partially English-speaking and very helpful, good air con & bathroom facilities. Room did not have a balcony as offered via online booking; might not be hotel's fault tho... Difficult to find if driving due to various one way systems and proximity to major traffic area.
The room was clean and nicely done up with high ceilings. It is close to the old city and we could easily walk over. No lift, but the room was only 1 floor up so it wasn't a problem
Old fashioned charm centrally located but difficult to find by car in the one way system. Faded, in need of redecoration.
The beautiful garden in front of the hotel, staff, calm neighbourhood, near the centre of the town
The building was old.
Nice old rustic hotel.Near to tram and old town.Breakfast in room if you fancy. Towels and bed cover a bit shabby.
They claimed not to receive reservation (which was done 24 hours in advance), very unpolite and unwilling to help
lovely, well furnished room overlooking exotic garden and tabled area of bamboo, vines and other well established greenery. an interesting building with charm and historic appeal. we arrived late, let the staff know we were delayed and were given entry code and a taxi number should we need it - as it happened we were by then quite close to the hotel - and the key left in our door when we finally arrived - for which we were very grateful to their consideration and support. would definitely book again.
Nice location close to Vieux Ville Poor breakfast
Friendly staff, nice simple room, good bathroom. The place looked a bit delapidated. High-carb breakfast (like in most places in France).
