Everything, and the food in their restaurant was magnificent Nothing
A great hotel in a good location
did not receive an air conditioned room as was expected and paid for.
Location The over priced menu
We had a warm and friendly welcome. The room was unique and very comfortable and, the hotel in a good location in order to explore the area.
Beautiful grounds and large comfortable room. Beautiful linen and furnishings. Great location and short walk into the center of the village and the chateau. Heard a dripping sound all night from the pipes or something in the walls?
The location is ideal, walking distance to the Chateau de Chenonceau. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was charming, comfortable, and very clean. Very relaxing stay. Perfect place to launch your visits to all the chateaux of the Loire.
Excellent accomodations, very clean and very attentive staff no
The location and the room The Internet didn't work in my room
The quiet + coziness.
The gardens were very beautiful, particularly liked to hear the running water at night. The position of the hotel could not be better for the chateau. Car parking facilities were fine. Very pleasant and relaxing dining room. Having to drag suit cases up to room - assistance would have been appreciated.
The staff were friendly and we were grateful to be given an evening meal option in spite of our late arrival. The location was ideal. No
Good value and helpful staff . Restaurant was overated
The location was ideal for visiting the chateau.
The hotel has a lovely looking garden where you could have meals or coffee.
The staff was very friendly and the on site restaurant had very good food.
The closeness to the Chenonceaux castle Small rooms, uncomfortable beds, old bathroom
Comfortable bed and good food in restaurant. Bidet in bathroom. Unfortunately the very noisy bin lorry arrived at 6am. (Not the hotel's fault) Bath very small but made up for by good shower. (But needed a shower curtain.)
trevligt bemötande, trevlig restaurang, god mat för få vägguttag (el), väl enkelt badrum
Friendly helpful staff. Nice quiet room. Good parking facilities. Excellent location just a few minutes' walk from the Chateau de Chenonceaux.
clean comfortable room, big bathroom, very good restaurant no air conditioning, the hostess is too conceited
The room was clean and comfortable and the evening meals were excellent Not told price of aperitif and got a shock when the bill arrived.
Beer on the terrace after arrival Pretentious dinner, oversalted, waited 1hr 20 mins for 1st course, food v. indifferent, kept in oven so overheated, staff in kitchen obviously could not cope, bread poorly cut, uneven size and not fresh, poor value for money.
Being so close to the beautiful town of Loches and the river.
the evening meal, and the aspect from the enclosed terraced restaurant I could not find any English language channel on the TV - and there was a presidential election on!
Nice location, helpful staff. That breakfast bar is not free, watch out!
Splendid location with closeby parking and bars/restaurants within easy walking.
The very original ancient stone spiral staircase, the views over the river and the accessibility of the town.
The building was charming and we liked the historical aspects of it. Great location. Having to carry bags up 2 flights of stairs! Ok for younger people, but narrow and uneven steps did not help. The shower in he bathtub could prove a problem for people with limited mobility. However, all can be understood when onen considers the age of the hotel. Rooms on street a bit noisy, ask for a river view room.
The location was ideal- right in the centre of Loches. Lovely to stroll from the hotel up the cobbled medieval streets (filled with boutique type shops) to the walled citadel.Lovely dining room with huge roaring fire. Delicious food including amuses- bouches. Very family atmosphere as they are obviously a family running this hotel. Full of charm if a little shabby chic.Excellent value for money at E46 per night (October). Heater didnt work in our room but when we approached the reception, they immediately came up to check it out, then moved us to another room. No hassle.Narrow stone staircase could be a problem for the elderly or those with large bags, but for us it added to the charm of the place. Its medieval!
Good central location. Great stairwell. Like everywhere, pillows were not very good.
Friendliness and helpfulness of owners, proximity to City
Excellent quality hotel, good service & value. n/a
Loches is a quaint medieval town; like a more northern sarlat; The motel units have good views of valley; there is excellent car parking outside the unit and location is quite convenient to the town and main roads out of town. Restaurant has good reputation but we could not get in: Motel units are cramped and can get hot:
Comfortable and and very good restaurant Being accommodated a walk from main building during inclement weather
Being able to park directly outside the room. Convenient location, both for the old town centre and the new commercial shopping centre. Room a little on the small size. No international TV channels other than BBC News.
friendly, helpful reception staff. Very nice dining room with real log fire. My husband liked the pool. Quiet situation. Super outlook. Long steep walk from Loches centre. The main course of the evening meal was disappointing every time. On our last night we paid a supplement and chose from a better menu. Would recommend this. Wine was good.
Restaurant very good. Reception staff spoke good English and helpful Bedrooms rather small. Beds cofortable. Bathroom OK
Convenience of location, superb hotel and friendly staff
nice location breakfast was a bit of a bun fight.
Everthing about the place we enjoyed We ate in the restaurant and strangely we were asked before we ordered if we would like dessert
Excellent Restaurant. Interesting town. Location map on website is incorrect. Hotel is shown as centre of town and was therefore difficult to find.
Smell, Small rooms, Internet connection only at the Rezeption, breakfast Starts only at 8.00 A.M.
nice room, nice place, grand hotel. Far from the town
Quiet and charming Nothing relevant
The rooms were large, clean and beautiful. We lived in a castle. Breakfast was ok. They didn't have lift, but we stay only for one night and it was ok. We have supper in a near village, because they didn't have restraunt in the hotel. Har to find on a road.
We liked the quietness of the place, the swimmingpool, the chateau itself, the proprietors and the type of other guests visiting. In my opinion, the mattresses were too soft or worn out.
The surroundings The price of the breakfast is really too expensive. It should not be higher than 10 euros.
Really a beautiful, serene location, absolutely gorgeous outdoor terrace, and great pool and tennis court. Beautiful grounds and a lovely small pub. We will be back many times!
Pool, tennis court, park, terrace The room and bathroom is very tatty and one was also infested with insects. Many other guests were surprised at the lack of restaurant caused partly by their Hotel Restaurant brochures!
Quiet and lovely location in coutryside. Close to major Chateaus in Loire and excellent restaurants. Hooting of the owls late at night followed by the screech of its prey. Otherwise excellent.
The wanderful place (the Garden, the pool). no restaurant
staff very helpfull shower had no curtain but otherwise excellent
dinner was very good While it was May, the first night was rather cold as there was not heat in our room (even though I tried to turn on the radiator).
clerk at front desk very nice; room O.K. no heat first night; only given hair dryer after asked if available; could hear man snoring in next room first night
Very close to the castle of Chenanceaux
restrant was good .room also was very clean. and staffs were very frendly
The hotel is convenient for Chenonceaux, being in the next village and it is easy to find. On checking in we were advised to make a reservation for dinner as the restaurant would be full. We were offered 8pm to 9pm and we said we would like 8.30. When we arrived for dinner (at 8.40, but well within the timeframe advised) we were told the service had finished at 8.30 and they would not provide us with a meal, meaning that we had to drive elsewhere to get a meal. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant so the line that we needed to book to get a table was not true.
the quality of the reception and welcome. maybe breakfast can be included in the room rent
Lovely situation, friendly efficient staff, restaurant served good value for money local food. Single beds were very narrow and so the overnight rest was not all it could have been.
The hotel was conveniently situated fro visiting the Chateau of Chenonceau and easy to find. The room was clean and comfortable and ecerything worked ok. At checkin there seemed to be some confusion about the allocation of our room. This was not explained to us. The restaurant was closed so we had to go into Chenonceaux to eat. At checkout the credit card machine did not have a connection and the reception staff could not make it work. Consequently we had to pay in cash which left us short of euros for the remainder of our journey home. The account showed my initial and address incorrectly. The receptionist was unable to change this in the computer and eventually had to erase it manually and write in the correct details. Again, there was no explanation or apology for any of this or any recognition of the problem.
good location, easy parking, surprisingly good restaurant,
It lies directly on the river Cher. The bedroom was fairly big and well-furnished with a flat-screen TV. Both the bedroom and the bathroom had big sliding windows. The corridors and stairs are dismal and have obviously not been refurbished for at least 30 - 40 years. The bath was grubby with grey stains and the bathroom in need of redecoration. The only 3-star thing about the hotel is the price.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great access to the village and beach opposite. Access into hotel - up steps and door opened outwards. Not a problem for someone who is fit but my husband has Parkinson's and carrying luggage in and out was difficult
Best hotel in the town, good location in the city centre, magnificnet panorama over river Cher from rooms and the restaurant; excellent gourmet restaurant; newly furnished rooms with comfortable beds; large bathroom 90% of staff not speaking English at all and menu in the restaurant only in French so we had a troubles when ordering meal.. Restaurant opening hours limited - we arrived at 14.00 and it was already closed..
Suite very confortable Staff a little bit "cold"
Nothing Outer door to room opened into the bathroom
The diner was superb. The noise from the street.
Nice view on the river, good food in the restaurant Service in the restaurant - we waited 25 min until somebody took the order for drinks
Nice view for the window Staff shuold speak English better
Beautiful setting in the Loire valley and with hotel units built in Bali style around a lovel lake. Staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant buffet was fantastic, the outdoor swimming pool lovely. Fabulous place and we would definitely stay again and for longer. Wi-Fi didn't work in our room.
Good size family accomodation with good ensuite bathroom facilities and quality furniture. Lovely swimming pool and the opening times worked well for us as a family especially when we had been out for the day, as there was still time for tea and a swim before bedtime. The towel rail worked well for getting everyone's swimming stuff dry overnight for swimming again the next day. Loved the pond setting with the turtles, fish and ducks. We stayed in lots of different accomodation in France, but yours was our favourite hotel. No kettle, tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. We stayed in lots of places, and yours was the only one that didn't have this. The coffee in the vending machine was horrible, and there was no tea or hot chocolate alternative. Kettles in the rooms would be a big improvement, with drinks made to our own taste - not worrying if we'd got change for the machine, and feeling more relaxed that can just make a drink when you want one without having to get dressed and leave your room. Breakfast costs for a family were very expensive, more than other places.
Lovely designs based in Bali with many woodcarvings and koi carp, large rooms and a warm swimming pool, the buffet dinner was plentiful and delicious.
It was empty, and, for France, relativly cheap. But I am sure that both of these are because of the season.
Helpful friendly staff. Clean room, excellent food
The sleeping facilities, the water around with all the ducks and frogs No eating "a la carte" after 21h15. After a long day work (we were there for business), we did not want to eat from the buffet and it was 21h17 and they made no exception :-(
The hotel was gorgeous. The landscaping really takes you away to another world. Very serene & relaxing. The pond and the waterfall give it a storybook feel. We got the family room which was great for 4 adults and one small child who shared king size bed with parents. FYI: Top bunk has a max weight of 50 kilos. Playground and pool a plus if you have children. Also, zoo borders property. Got the buffet dinner at restaurant. Appetizers salads & deserts where amazing. The cooked/hot food was a bit disapointing. Beef was chewy, chicken cold and dry. Website said room was for 3 adults and one child so I paid 20euros for an extra bed. When I got there and asked about extra bed they said they didn't have one. I explained I paid extra and they said that was for having an additional adult, not for extra bed. Felt a bit cheated. You're a captive audience since there is no village withing walking distance.
The warmth of the staff, a nice welcome, they remembered us from 2 years ago. Right in town with a car park, close to all the medieval buildings. Room a little rustic but still comfortable - quaint is a good descrition.
I liked the location , parking, lovely dining room, Grand facade. Our room was in converted sheds at read of the small hotel. There are outside stairs in very poor condition leading to the rooms at the rear. Our room was on two floors. A hall and bathroom (without wc), downstairs. Up a very narrow stairs leading o a small bedroom. there is a toilet enclosed in the corner of the room. This does not contain a sink. The ceiling of the wc slopes, and made it impossible to use while standing. There is ample space to have the toilet on the lower floor with the sink. Anyone carring luggage will find the two sets of stairs difficult.
We liked the City of Loches The Annexe rooms were a great disappointment compared with other Logis hotels we used this vacation
Dinner in the old courtyard was excellent. The breakfast served at the table in the charming dining room was also very pleasant.
The location is marvellous for exploring Loches - especially the citadel. It is very close to the centre, yet, because the rooms are mostly arranged round a courtyard, it's very quiet. The hotel has character and charm because of its age. The owner/manager was very helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel is used to English guests. The accommodation is awkward because of the building's age. Our room was split-level : bathroom and clothes-hanging (no wardrobe/closet) downstairs, bedroom and toilet (no basin) upstairs. The bedroom ceiling was very low, beamed and sloping, so there was danger of cracking your head every time you got into/out of bed. The service at dinner - served in a cool, quiet courtyard - was terribly slow. They forgot our dessert entirely, and, despite requests for it, it arrived nearly an hour after our main course. But they did apologise, and everyone else seemed to be served in a timely manner.
Excellent hotel, very well located. very friendly, welcoming staff. The food is excellent and the breakfast superb .The familly rooms are spacious, very clean, and the beds very confortable. Definitly good value for money, we will come back.
Very helpfull staff. Very good food and ample parking. Rooms were clean and tastfully decorated.
Extremely uncomfortable beds. All four of us had a bad night's sleep. Shabby room. No air conditioning so slept with the window open and it was very noisy in the morning due to hotel being on the main road. Urine smell in corridor from common toilets. Much better choice of hotels 5 min away in town of Chenonceau, and closer to the Chateau. Wish we had known that!
we stayed as it was near to the chateau Chissay where our niece was getting married and the price was reasonable. The hotel was a little shabby but our room looked as if it had been recently decorated. Hotel was clean but basic. staff pleasant and helpful.
the hotel staff
Friendly staff, good food, clean rooms Awkward staircases to rooms, no aircon or fans in rooms
