10.0 Excellent
Pros: The authenticity and Gregory, the host's true passion for the history and ongoing restoration of the chateau, all of which he does himself. We stayed 2 nights on our way down to spain from the UK but wish we could have stayed longer! The breakfast is excellent with fresh pastries, local cheese, apple juice from the orchards and homemade jams and marmalades by the hosts mother. After hearing the history of the place your staying in, you can really get a feeling of what it would have been like 300 years ago.
Cons: The only negative is there are no restaurants within walking distance. This makes it tricky as a couple to both enjoy the local wine. Although in all honesty the remoteness is what appealed to us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambience feels so true, being here you have experienced the royalty of the Loire valley. The property is just beautifully kept, all refurbished areas are designed to perfection and attention to detail. Owner is such a charming and friendly person treating this place with lots of love. It was an amazing stay. Thank you so much for this experience.
Cons: Everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A hidden gem. Truly exceptional experience and an honour to stay in such a wonderful historic building
7.5 Good
Pros: orinality
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property was so beautiful with the natural moat around it. We loved hearing about the history of the Château too. Our rooms were huge and amazing view from every window!
Cons: The frogs were very noisy at night but it also kind of added to the charm!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Magnificent, a dream come true. If you ever fantasized about sleeping in a medieval castle, this is a perfect place!
Cons: There is nothing not to like!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A magical place. Breakfast with homemade jams, fresh croissant, eggs and homemade apple tart. Our host was charming and couldn’t have done more for us. It’s such a special place I hardly want to tell anyone. We’ll be back soon.
Cons: All was good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful breakfast! The rooms made us feel as though we were living in medieval times with modern amenities. The bathrooms were new and located in the turrets with the tub in one turret and toilet, sink in another. The smaller, private bedroom is in the 3rd turret and the circular stairs were in the 4th turret. The main bedroom is the large central space with fireplace, and sitting area. Meeting Gregoire and learning about the restoration work he has done to save this historic gem was a highlight of our trip to France. We were within about 30 minutes of several chateauxs and loved coming back to our own little Chatelet at the end of each day of exploring the area. The Grotto Restaurant in Azay le Rideau, recommended by Gregoire, was so good, we ate there twice!
Cons: There needs to be a rail or rope in the spiral stairs for safety.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best places we’ve stayed at. Swam in the moat!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Unique experience. Castle being restored to its original condition, with lots of love and energy. Very friendly owner.
Cons: Wifi. But then again, it there is any moment one should detach from wifi it would be in this place.

Pros: Beautiful rooms with lovely touches like tea & coffee making facilities.....and a little sunlit terrace to sit on and enjoy the view. Lovely breakfast with fresh yoghurt, homemade jams and croissants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere +++++
Cons: The bathroom was a tiny bit chilly.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We wanted to try a troglodyte stay … just to see what it was like. although it was mid-February, the large room was warm and welcoming … as was the greeting of the host ! The bed was very comfortable and, after a good nights sleep, the continental breakfast was made special by the homemade items … even Doughnut was worth seeing :).
Cons: Nothing … we were vey pleased to have stayed there!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room looks amazing. The breakfast was fantastic. The service was superb. A wonderful place to stay.
Cons: Nothing. We had a great time.

Pros: What a fun place to stay! The owner has done a wonderful job in decorating the charming cave rooms. Everything is spotless and shows attention to detail. Our hostess was very helpful and pleasant. The bed was very comfortable. We were served an ample, fresh breakfast in the morning. We are recommending this property to family members who will be in the area soon.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We received a warm welcome at Les Troglos de la Tufolière. Our room was incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, comfortable and everything we needed was provided. We enjoyed our overnight stay here and would love to return to explore the Loire valley, on the doorstep. . A delicious continental breakfast, including bread, croissants, yogurt, fruit and wonderful home made jams, was served in the breakfast room in the main house. Close to Vouvray, where we had dinner, and in a very quiet residential area, we are happy to highly recommend Les Troglos de la Tufolière
Cons: We liked this accommodation very much.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Quirky place with great owner. Great recommendation for dinner. Lovely breakfast.
Cons: Not much to dislike- maybe net curtains in the door/ window to obscure view into room when curtains open?
10.0 Excellent
Cons: No secure parking had to park outside of property otherwise all good
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous, incredibly atmospheric rooms in a literal cave. Valerie is a phenomenal host who's always there for you, the place feels like a homestay more than anything. The breakfast is excellent. The facilities are amazing, the rooms have everything: a fridge, a kettle, a fresh set of candles! Last but not least, the bed was perfectly soft and comfortable.
Cons: The area around the place is not very interesting, but if you're on a bike then Tours is just 15 minutes away.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Homey atmosphere Simple but very lovely breakfast Foosball in the common room Very quiet
Cons: Nothing :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I was met by Nathalie and the check-in process and welcome to the hotel is seamless. This is really a very nice boutique hotel. Nathalie has gone to a great deal of effort into making the place what it is. The attention to detail that she has put in is second to none! The room was perfect, the bed is comfortable and there is a flat screen TV. The ensuite bathroom/toilet was perfect. The décor throughout this hotel is idyllic. Everything feels clean and well maintained. The room was a little tight on space but actually sufficient for me. I was traveling alone. Maybe other rooms are slightly larger. Breakfast is entirely substantial. A very nice selection including orange juice, fresh fruits nuts and various breads and jams with endless coffee. All laid out with incredible detail in a really nice bright breakfast room. I like an egg for breakfast, maybe Nathalie might consider offering one for future guests. I think there is limited parking at the hotel, but there is also plenty of free parking on the adjacent street with not a long walk to the hotel. Location-wise, I walked into Tours. About a 30 minute fast paced walk for me but that helped with my step-count! Maybe a bit far for some with youngsters. There is a bus rout (number 10 I think) and a train station very nearby. Tours is beautiful and will be worth the visit no matter how long your stay will be. Advise you don't drive into Tours.
Cons: There is nothing I didn't like about this hotel.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome from Nathalie, who checked beforehand when we would arrive. Close to the railway station for an early start in the morning.
Cons: Nowhere to eat close by, but it was easy to get a bus or train into Tours where there was lots of choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were looking for a hotel close to the St. Pierre des Corps train station. We always like to stay in interesting places, as opposed to generic hotel--and this was entirely charming.
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location to visit Tours, Le Skippy restaurant located across road from B&B was perfect, nice food, very helpful staff. B&B interiors were 'Works of Art', host very welcoming.
Cons: Unfortunately, we felt the continental breakfast was a little limited, although presentation was amazing, warm toast/ Croissants as an option would have been a good choice, plus a selection of fruit not a chosen choice of one particular fruit. Plus, maybe an option of eggs on toast. But I guess this will all depend on demand! Just a thought! Still enjoyed our stay and would return regardless of breakfast option.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: what a fantastic place décor staff helpfulness top marks
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and big room. Nice owner. Breakfast id good. Close to TGV train station.

Pros: No milk for tea or coffee, breakfast was plonked on the table, only hard chibbatta nread that was too big for toaster.Orange juice never filled half the glass
Cons: Breakfast was cheap and little no continental cheese or ham

Pros: Very clean very friendly staff
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the staff and good parking.
Cons: I didn't like that check in was at 16.00and basically there is no one there before that time and check out is at 11.00. Internet connection speed slow and no air conditioning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, brilliant, a short walk over the bridge to centre of old town. Staff outstanding, so warm and friendly. Breakfast great. Rooms really nice and clean. Room prices exceptional compared to some places i have stayed.
Cons: There was not a thing wrong with this hotel.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were very attentive and very nice
5.5 Okay
Pros: The 2 young women who looked after us during our stay were friendly helpful and attentive Free parking
Cons: We were staying in a superior room which seemed an overstatement of the actual facilities we’re glad we weren’t in a standard room!!! Not really value for money compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in on this holiday that were in the same price range.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, secluded and quiet, only 10 minute walk away from the city centre to get to the bars and restaurants. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. Very good value for money!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were impressed by professional attitude of the host Pascal, who gave us useful information about Tours and surroundings. We had really appreciated the location (few minute walk to the city centre) and private parking place. Breakfast was generous and delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner and team at Castle Fleurie were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. They couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant one. The owner even chilled my water for me so I could have cool water for the onward journey. On arrival the owner made sure we were provided with a map and guidance over the city and the surrounding area - really helpful!
Cons: The only thing I would prefer is slightly larger bath towels - but, that said the towels we were provided were clean and fresh, so not a problem.

7.5 Good
Pros: French castle, outdoor restaurant facing a big grass land, interior design of the lobby, outdoor swimming pool facing the castle
Cons: Can only be reached by taxi or car
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, a warm reception, and pretty grounds. Easy access to Tours and the chateaux of the Loire. Good restaurant, nice food. Our room was not in the actual chateau, but was pretty with a small veranda.
Cons: WiFi was spotty and kept dropping out. Breakfast at 22 euro was the highest cost we encountered over two months in France, so we chose not to! Dinner was lovely, the wine and drinks list was pretty pricey also.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: First time I was here, it was a huge surprise what a place and what a location. The building is beatifull and the food dinner and breakfast great with a perfect view. You can stay in the main building or some of the smaller buildings, very very nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Hotel with amazing staff and food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked one of their largest rooms in the castle and it was totally worth it! We came here for a very intimate vow ceremony as we had already did the formal wedding back in the US. We wanted to find a space that was picturesque with all the amenities onsite. The castle itself was gorgeous, the landscape was magical, the food was delicious, and the service was pleasant! We enjoyed every bit of it. Incredible experience!
Cons: Nothing... ok, maybe expect the pollen from the trees. Everywhere was so scenic but every time the wind blew pollen would fly around. But to honest, that was the least of my worry!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property very well located with an amazing view of Loire Châteaus. Their restaurant is incredible and food delicious.
Cons: The only difficult part is to take the luggage to the upper rooms as the stairs are super tied and hard to climb.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Swimming pool , food, pillows lovely
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful chateau with far reaching views from the terrace, where meals are served. The staff are great, smiling, happy, helpful and very approachable. The breakfast is good, although at 20 euros a little pricey compared with other hotels we have stayed in. The evening meals can only be described as fine dining and for this the chef and his staff should be applauded. The dinner staff are welcoming, informative, engaging and are happy to explain everything. They also have a good knowledge of the wine list and can make great recommendations. There is a lovely clean, well maintained swimming pool with a phone so you can order drinks, a nice touch. The bedrooms are light and airy with good air conditioning. There is free wi-fi, although not a secure network. There are lots of grounds to walk around and quiet little places to sit and contemplate the views. There is a lovely walk down to the river. There is lots of room to park your car. We did have a lovely time here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were very pleased with our Charm Room! The employees were perfect!!! The dinner was extraordinary! We will return definitely!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a real gem. A family run country house hotel. Beautifully decorated and exceptional service. Highly recommend

In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. When it comes to Rochecorbon hotels, the Hotel les Hautes Roches is highly regarded for its excellent facilities.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The views, pool, cave rooms. We arrived in the hottest day in French history and the room was so cool and nice to be in, loved it.
Cons: The bathroom looked a bit old dated.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I needed a room to make a business call at check out time . The staff could not have been more accommodating and printed out material for me and found me a quiet room . Super. All in all though very good including dinner on terrace.
Cons: Having stayed in other Relais and chateaux hotels later (including the St James Bouilliac) the breakfast was extremely average and not up to their usual standards
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is unique in that several rooms were built into rock walls and were beyond compare. It was very beautiful and spacious.
Cons: Breakfast should be more than a continental breakfast in a Relais & Chateaux location or if that is what it is, it should be included in the room price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful hotel overlooking the magnificent Loire river. We had a very spacious room with a large comfortable bed. The hotel restaurant is a fantastic place to eat with incredible food and excellent service. The hotel staff could not have done more to make us feel welcome - they were exceptional. We only stayed for 2 nights but we will definitely stay again.
Cons: Nothing, everything was wonderful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is inside stone build structure over a cliff. Very cooling effect inside the room and this is a special feature of the hotel. Stayed for a night and we enjoy the beautiful view over the river, staff are very nice and we have a relax stay experience.
Cons: No elevator maybe due to the limitation of the stone house design.. staff helped us move up all the luggages up and down really appreciate their services!!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Living literally inside a cliff near a great river, but with the comfort of a luxury hotel rather than a cave -- it's a very special experience worth trying ;) And the restaurant is not cheap but worth all the money
7.5 Good
Pros: We liked the bedrooms being from a cave. We ate in the restaurant the food was delicious but the waiting staff ignored us
Cons: Service was very slow
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms situated in the caves. They were very spacious, bed was very comfortable and the view amazing
Cons: The breakfast was too poor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: food fantastic..dinner service slow..we waited 20 minutes before being given a menu...
Cons: see above
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location ….. and that was all
Cons: Room - 150 steps up and maybe for some romantically built into the cliff - however no thought of air circulation!!! The drains also stunk in the bathroom, Dinner -overpriced and mediocre to say the least I will certainly never be returning for either an overpriced room or a overpriced dinner!
Hôtel Colbert Tours - Tours - Outdoors view
7
9.1 Excellent (190 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hôtel Colbert Tours, you'll be centrally located in Tours, just a 4-minute walk from Tours Cathedral and 8 minutes by foot from Vinci International Convention Centre. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, plum in the middle of town in a pedestrian only street. Short term vehicular access for offloading no problem. All amenities and visitor attractions within easy walking distance. Rated 2-star but our room was more than adequate for a short stopover with interesting decor. No a/c but the room was cool enough even though hot outside. Breakfast pretty good for the price. The owner/manager very helpful. Parking in a nearby underground carpark (400m away) at a heavily subsidised price worked well.
Cons: Nothing really, however, on a practical note, probably not the most suitable for someone with a disability.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Basic but very comfortable and secure. Personable owner who spoke excellent English. Good location on pedestrian street with many shops and restaurants.
Cons: No parking onsite, and nearby area is quite congested. For older guests, and those with limited mobility, the lack of an elevator could be a problem.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I and my wife have been here during our Summer 2018 Normandy’s tour. The rate was fair considering the quality of the service. The location is really good in the real center of the town. When we get closer we have to drive through an almost pedestrian area (cars allowed at 20 maximum speed) The private parking is not available but this hotel has a agreement with a big parking lot nearby, thus no really problem for the car The room was really great: I loved it! Nice, big, clean and with a strong worthy. I would definitively suggest this place to any traveler going to Tours
Cons: One single problem: noise during the night. With closed windows no any problem (they can well isolate the room). But we have been here during August and the room was quite hot. During the night was needed to open the window (no air condition) unfortunately in this hotel is a very busy area with many bars, pubs, etc. It was so noisy with people talking, singing, and shouting till late night and also morning.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Colbert is a very nice hidden treasure as it is recently renovated. It had the perfect location, close to the popular bars and restaurants as well as shopping area. At a short distance of the Loire for a nice morning or evening walk. The owners were very friendly people and were flexible to keep our luggage until the afternoon in a separate storage room. Also the breakfast was good value for money. We'll come back!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness,breakfast,room and location
Cons: Not a big issue but underground parking is about 400m away but is free and easy to walk to hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful personnel. Clean and cosy room, larger than we expected. Breakfast good compared to french standard !
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very modern and beautifully decorated. We even had USB outlets in the room, a very nice touch. The manager was friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. Breakfast in the garden was a pleasant experience. This family run hotel really takes good care of their guests. I could not have been happier.
Cons: Access to the garden in the evening wasn't allowed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and pleasant accommodation. Really helpful owner. Great location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Olivier and his beautiful dogs made our stay more interesting and felt welcome. Totally different hotel experience, very loving and warm. Excellant breakfast and the best location.

Pros: Great location for a stop off while travelling from Caen to Toulouse, about 3 hours drive from Caen. Our room was very quiet, and felt refreshed the next morning.
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a great hotel and good value for money. The quirkiness of the vintage vehicles and accompanying memorabilia was fabulous! We mostly dealt with Patrice who spoke excellent English and was so friendly and helpful, but Edward was lovely too! The rooms was very clean, with usual toiletries, towels and coffee making facilities - it all seemed brand new. There was also free access to an espresso machine and more teas in a small dining room. Our rooms was very quiet and had mechanical shutters that kept the light and heat out if required, but there was also air conditioning which was wonderful after spending a week elsewhere without!. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.
Cons: Can't think of anything
7.5 Good
Cons: Very much family orientated. A bit tired. Staff very helpfully. Breakfast disappointing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good and rooms were comfortable and clean.
Cons: There wasn't a good restaurant within walking distance for an evening meal.
6.0 Good
Pros: Quite handy for an overnight stop with secure parking.
Cons: We felt the hotel felt tired and could do with a really good clean. However, the breakfast was excellent and hotel overall adequate for an overnight stay, given the location. Shortage of good local restaurants within walking distance.

Pros: Excellent loft type accommodation for 5 - comfy beds, air con and wifi. Ease of access from main roads as we were using this as a respite stop en route to the South of France. Beatrice was a lovely host and home made jams accompanied the breakfast.
10.0 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved the property especially the personally prepared continental breakfast, on our second morning the French Egg Toast was to die for. The room was very comfortable and the Wifi excellent, shower good with a great supply of hot water. We managed to communicate with Beatrice well with our school / college French. The location is great for visiting Tours and the Loire Valley. There is a great bistro restaurant about 2km away for dinner where we dined both evenings.
Cons: Whilst the room was comfortable the en-suite bathroom was down steep stairs so for a night time loo visit you had to be careful. Appreciate the weather had been hot but the garden looked as though it need a little TLC
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A nice house near Tours. THe place is good for Loire-valley adventures. The owners are nice. Has a small but cozy pool.
Cons: The house looks good on the photos, but your room will likely be in the back of the building, or on top of the garage -a bit disappointing. The WIFI in our room was unreliable, worked only in certain places in the house. The breakfast is typical French: bread, jam and orange juice. Good quality and fine, but not for the meat lovers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great rooms and breakfast and owner very friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sadly no croissant just bread brioche etc. Nice jam. Weather not good enough to swim so disappointing.
Cons: Croissant for breakfast and better coffee.beautiful house and surroundings and the owner and her daughter were very helpful.

7.5 Good
Pros: Clean room Connecting room for family of 4 good location friendly staff
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Central location for a short stay in tours
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location for central Tours
7.0 Good
Pros: location
Cons: given disabled room, not very clean
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very beautiful and it has a perfect location. The room is beautifully decorated, perfectly illuminated and very comfortable. Good pool and jakuzzi. We stayed in 7 hotels in France during our 12 days journey and this hotel was the best.
Cons: A little bit funny for me, when some guests are enthusiastic about the breakfast... Not only here, in any other French hotels. Probably they do not have any experience about a really good breakfast. Sorry, but I have to tell it honestly: the breakfast choice is usually not wide enough in EVERY French hotels, so here neither. There are never any kind of vegetables: no tomatoes, no peppers, no onions, no cucumbers, nothing! The most annoying thing what I can imagine is scrambled egg what made from powder... This is a fake scrambled egg, what is inedible! I have been 7 different hotels in France during our 12 days journey and everywhere was only this trashy powder scrambIed egg, never from real egg. I could recommend the French hotel managers to look around at some Italian, Spanish or even Polish, Hungarian or Czech hotels and they will see immediately what is a good breakfast like... Ok, the quality of croissant and cheese is good but it is not enough. While these breakfasts are very expensive... I didn't want to hurt anyone, but this is the truth. We weren't happy with the French breakfast either here or elsewhere, but because this is a very high quality hotel, I would have expected a better breakfast... I hope there is no anger :)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, wow factor on initial entry and attentive staff on reception.
Cons: Lack of facilities in room, no fridge and poor coffee machine. Pillows were more like small cushions, and very uncomfortable. Large bed was 2 singles pushed together. Room had a balcony, but this overlooked a grim square in the middle of the hotel, along with every other room. Overall, room was over priced. Marketed as an executive room, but much too basic to justify the high price.

Pros: Location- Central Tours
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredibly friendly multilingual staff. Beautiful rooms with high ceilings typical of the architecture of the building. Generous ("all you can eat!") continental breakfast and walking distance to everything. Wish we'd stayed longer.
Cons: My French could do with some improvement. ;)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely friendly and helpful
Cons: The street is very noisy
7.5 Good
Pros: Helpful staff, great location, fairly quiet street and inhabitants, bathroom was newly renovated and very clean (although only provided small bar of soap and small bottles of shampoo/shower gel - no conditioner or lotion or washcloths provided, which seems common across France).
Cons: The air conditioning promised for the room was a small, personal machine one might have at an office desk- it definitely could not compete with the heat. However, the room did not get too warm and the fan provided was quiet and sufficient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: staff were great. helpful and friendly. Location was ideal. town was beautiful. breakfast was fab and plentiful. our host was so friendly and accommodating. loved it!
Cons: it deserves more stars!!
8.0 Excellent

Pros: It is in a very good position near the railway station and the congress center.

Pros: Absolutely stunning house Amazing setting and views Lovely owner who gave us a warm welcome
Cons: NOTHING
6.8 Good
Pros: Beautiful place in lovely area of France.
Cons: When we arrived the hostess greeted us with oh you were lucky to get a room tonight as we have a wedding tomorrow! In other words we are too busy to be bothered with you! We didn't see anyone after initial meeting and did our own thing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful location, nice view, freindly staff.
Cons: The furniture is somewhat old and used, we would suggest a more thorough clean-up, and checking of accessories. For this price we expedted a bit more.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: All the rest. The room, the swimming pool, minimal bureaucracy, cleanliness, the setting
Cons: Breakfast was minimal.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful property. It is out in the country a bit, 5 minutes out of Vouvray, 15-20 minutes out of Amboise. The hostess was very nice and personable. She showed us to our room, which was spacious for Europe. Breakfast was OK but nothing to write home about. No eggs or quiche or anything hot, but standard fare of coffee, bread and croissants, butter and jam. The entry was a bit difficult to find. Don't trust Google maps. It will direct you to an unused service entry.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is delicious and the rooms a big and comfy, swimming pool is beautiful and great for a swim after exploring the region.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Swimming pool a good size. Bathroom and bedroom clean.
Cons: Breakfast very poor and lacking imagination: rationed out on a tray, no choice, ultra-ordinary orange juice, one under-ripe piece of fruit per person, some bread, packet butter, jam, mini pastries (which we didn't want but were served anyway). Staff seemed disinterested in us, at both arrival and departure they asked who we were and no one ever asked if things were ok. We stayed during heatwave but no bottled water provided in room or anywhere else. Aircon in room was turned off centrally at night when it was really needed! Noise from an electric drill being used by swimming pool in mid-afternoon when we had hoped to relax there. Grounds did not live up to online photos, rather shabby. Some of the furniture and furnishings in room also had seen better days. Location on quite a busy road not conducive to walking to nearby villages.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, beautiful building. Breakfast really good.
Cons: Some difficulty finding a restaurant in the area for an evening meal.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spacious rooms with gorgeous views.
Cons: Pool was not open
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the relaxed environment, countryside of the Loire, beautiful old chateau that's been renovated and modernized but kept old world charm. We liked that it had a heated pool and lounge area. Breakfast was great and the owners were very sweet. Susanne made breakfast early for us on our day of departure. Locywas perfect for touring the châteaux and wineries of the Loire Valley.
Cons: There had been a wedding on Saturday and some of the party stayed over so when we arrived Sunday afternoon we couldn't use the pool area or terrace. It lasted way into the night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Situation and character
Cons: Nothing

5.8 Okay
Pros: clean, suite itself was nicely appointed, spacious, clean, quiet, large. It was a bit like an oasis but not as much as I expected. Front desk service people were polite and nice. Parking was free and plentiful.
Cons: We were treated incredibly rudely by the restaurant lady. I was shocked. Only option is what is in reality a dinner but served at lunch. Can get sandwiches but only by room service. And boy was she rude about it, later flying all in our faces when we gently mentioned it at the front desk.Whew. we had the top suites in the hotel. In what they call the chateau. Nothing chateau like about it. Modern decor. Could have been any hotel anywhere in the world. The grounds were totally built up with ugly modern Motel 6 looking buildings so even the view such as it was from the balconies of the suites overlooking the restaurant umbrellas and garden such as it was were marred by these dormitory looking buildings everywhere Not close to anything...cafe nope, pharmacy nope, groceries nope, nothing. 10 minute to 10 minute drive which is ok except all the invonvenience of a chateau but few of the perks. The hotel service was nice. It was fine. It was not what we in the USA would consider 4 stars though. 3.5 maybe fairer. Not awful, they were trying and very nice. Just lacking polish a little bit. We wouldn't have cared but for the restaurant lady.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The food was good, both dinner and breakfast, as was the outside seating area. The room was clean / nice, but very run of the mill. If I stay in a French chateau I want quirky, interesting, amazing grounds. This had none of that.
Cons: I wanted something extra nice for my daughter and I so decided to splash out over and above what we had spent in lovely places nearby before. It was already comparatively expensive, but then they added on another 40 euros for our 2 spaniels the day after we had booked. It was attached to an old people's home, and the residents (who had equal access to the grounds) didn't like the dogs running around. The chateau itself was a small part of the hotel and we stayed in an annex that was like a modern hospital, dark dingy corridors and lifts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just perfect
Cons: Nothing to dislike. Just great place to stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous outside dining terrace with great food
Cons: Help with offloading baggage on arrival

9.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the 2 bedroom family suite in the "annex". My husband and I were with our daughter & 2 grand children (5&8 years old). They are still talking about the wonderful hotel in Tours! It was lovely in spite of the record breaking temps! Thank you!
Cons: It would have been nice to NOT allow smoking on the patio just outside the dining room doors. The smoke does come inside. I'm allergic to smoke (asthma) so sometimes that wasn't pleasant. Parking was also challenging at times.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Nice park
Cons: Everything is good
6.3 Good
Pros: Clean hotel comfortable room
Cons: Told dinner unavailable despite arriving at 8pm and clearly plenty of tables free No bar facilities open on return to hotel at 11pm after having been told to go into town as no dinner available in hotel Breakfast in the morning was pretty much run out 30 minutes before breakfast was meant to finish. Paid €19 per head for breakfast
5.5 Okay
Pros: Gardens
Cons: Staff very average . When booking in no one told us about the facilities until we asked. Thought our junior suite would be in the main chateau Very difficult to find the hotel....need to remove Clarion and just advertise as the chateau Belmont.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location, Services
Cons: Facility is a bit run down, old. Also I had lost my Burberry jacket, forgot it in the breakfast area, could not recover, stuff was not helpful and did not attempt to recover expensive garment

Pros: The grounds are amazing, you feel like you’re staying at a place out of time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is a charming little slice of the Loire Valley.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The overall atmosphere and service was excellent
Cons: Whilst the hotel was excellent a tiny exception was that in a room for two people only 1 shampoo and 1 shower wash were provided. Did it spoil anything - no but it attention to every detail which makes somewhere extra extra special
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Elegant hotel. The staff were super attentive and helpful. Very relaxing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property is full of old world French charm. Our room in the chateau was delightful and very spacious.! Our evening meal on the terrace was first class. Every member of staff we encountered were attentive, professional and friendly. It was a memorable stay in a glorious setting.
Cons: There is nothing to dislike!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property - chateau and grounds. The room is also beautifully renovated - beautiful and functional bathroom & beds also very comfortable. The room was well maintained and cleaned daily.
Cons: The reception staff and owners weren't offensive but they were also not welcoming. We felt like we were a burden to them sometimes. For example, we went out on our first night to have dinner in town returning before 10pm and the wifi wasn't working for us so we called to find out why. The gentleman (owner) was evasive and I asked questions about why we couldn't have it and it turns out they had not added us to the wifi on check-in. He was trying to put us off not wanting to bother until the next day. His wife however stepped up to the plate and added us onto the wifi 15 min later. I almost was made to feel like it was our fault that they forgot to do this and we were supposed to suffer the consequences for them. Also, they had a room for playing pool and an outdoor terrace that we were never offered to use. In fact, when we asked to use the terrace on the other side of the chateau at checkin for a cocktail, they said it was full but we found out there was nobody there. I wonder if part of the problem was lost in translation. There was another terrace area we were happy using and they did provide bar service for us so we were happy with that. However, again it didn't make us feel welcome. I don't think they meant to make us feel this way but you can see why we didn't feel comfortable there. It's really too bad because the property has so much potential for spending a very enjoyable time there. We had breakfast on the other terrace the next day and the lady in charge of breakfast was very kind and welcoming as were the waiters that served us cocktails before dinner - unfortunately, they seemed to be there for the specific service (breakfast and dinner).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Dinner on Terrace was first class. Our dog was able to join us. Staff very attentive and pleasant on what was a very busy evening for dinner. We asked for cheese board instead of dessert options and this was provided with excellent choice of cheeses. Breakfast following morning was very good with plenty of fresh fruit and breads.
Cons: We stayed in the Pavilion and whilst our room had a great aspect overlooking the gardens, the bedroom was' tired'. Mattress however was excellent. Bathroom has been upgraded but shower unit was not particularly well joined to tiled wall. - a minor gripe!
6.8 Good
Pros: Staff were friendly. The authenticity of the furnishings in the main areas were tasteful. The gardens and dining room were good.
Cons: We were expecting a view of the beautiful gardens but we had a room overlooking a pebbled roof and air conditioning units. Room furnishings were adequate. No curtain around shower. The tennis courts were unusable and unsightly.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Evening meal was excellent. Great location for local touring
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ideal location for our stop overnight and great location and amenities!
Cons: Nothing. It all met expectations.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: We were on a cycling holiday and were allowed to arrive a little earlier than normal. Also our hostess provided us with a simple evening meal at only a couple of hours notice as cycling into town after a day in the saddle wasn't appealing to us, especially as the property was up a hill.
Cons: The property is quite far from any restaurants which isn't great when on a bike. Also we hadn't appreciated it was uphill from the village.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Florence was friendly and went out of her way to make sure our stay was good. The evening meal was excellent and breakfast just as good. House was VERY French and we loved it, tucked away down the lane.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The delicious evening meal served in a quiet shady corner. Perfect start to our holiday. The breakfast also lovely particularly the fruit compote

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing. This establishment has no right to be a hotel and certainly should not be a recommended hotel on Booking.com which has always served me welll in the past
Cons: It was dirty and unwelcoming. It was in a state of disrepair. There was dirty laundry in reception. There were no facilities to obtain refreshments or meals. After a 500 mile drive the last thing I wanted to do was to go out in the car again to rehydrate myself in temperatures soaring above 30 degrees. We didn’t stay and I am really disappointed that she levied the charge even after polite feedback and full explanation of why we the property did not meet our expectations. I wish I had taken the time to read all of the reviews because Iwould have realised that other people had the same experience. So disappointed could have spoliled the end of our holiday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the property, particularly the authentic and tasteful interior furnishing and decoration.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very nice & helpful and full of tips on nice restaurants. She was flexible & allowed a late check out.
Cons: Our room was beautiful but the shower (head only not attached to the wall) fell below our expectations. We had booked the hotel on the understanding that they provided bikes but that wasn’t the case and so the location without a bike was too remote.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location to airport was good. Lovely old Chateau and nice and friendly hostess.
Cons: No tea/coffee making facility and no evening meal. Had to drive to Tours for dinner.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was served in a grand, sunlit salon with high ceilings, tall windows, and classical music playing in the background. The food included a generous selection of fresh fruits, breads, pastries and local cheeses. A perfect way to start the day.
Cons: There is no air conditioning so the rooms may become uncomfortable for some guests on hot summer days. Fortunately, it is comfortable for most of the tourist season. The house looks a little run down and it merits a deep restoration, but that being said it has a kind of romantic charm. The grounds are lovely and the pool is a plus in the summer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Personal touch!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely welcoming and friendly host that goes above and beyond to provide the best experience. Upon our arrival, given the availability she upgraded us to a more spacious room with view on the garden. When we asked if she had alternative milk she even made a trip to the grocery store nearby to get us some soy milk for breakfast. The chateau is part of collection chain of individually owned chateaux and restaurants. Definitely recommend it!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location and close enough to Tours to go in and eat there. Hostess very welcoming and provided an excellent map with restaurants marked - very helpful. Gorgeous pool in the grounds.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Location is just perfect! It is close to all main castles (Amboise, Chenonceau, Saumur, Chaumont, Blois, Villandry). I stayed 5 nights! Decoration of the breakfast saloon, bedrooms, facilities in general are amazingly beautiful! Breakfast is very good with different and good options! Bedroom was comfortable. Madame Violaine, owner of the chatêau, made our stay a very special one with her kindness and willingness to help! Visiting the Loire Valley is a must to stay in a Chatêau, and it will be part of an unforgettable trip! Why stay in a regular hotel if you have the chance to experience a different and special stay, and live the life of a royal from the 19th century? And this one is a very good option! I also enjoyed the interaction with nature! Returning to the Loire, I will stay in this Chatêau again!
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: The proprietor was very welcoming. And very helpful. Suggested somewhere good to eat. Booked it and gave us directions
Cons: Coffee/tea making facilities in bedroom
