Pros: Spacious, comfortable and well equipped room with great walks from the property. Particularly liked having a kitchenette in the room. Close to many interesting places.
Pros: We received a warm welcome from the hosts. They have created a relaxed atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble for them. The kitchen accommodation is very well equipped and the whole space is clean and well presented
Pros: We like the nature surroundings and ready to help personal and the breakfast.
Cons: We disliked the shabbiness of the room
Auberge la marchadaine is set in Montrollet. Offering free WiFi, the property also has a restaurant, a bar and a terrace. Hiking and cycling can be enjoyed nearby. Limoges is 42 km from the bed and breakfast. The nearest airport is Limoges International Airport, 35 km from Auberge la marchadaine.
Pros: Very friendly proprietors clean comfortable and warm.Situated by a small lake
Cons: Depending on what you require,it's very remote, which suited us ok because after a long drive we were not looking for anything in the evening
Pros: The Auberge is located near a beautiful small lake, with a nice trail to walk around it. The Auberge has a nice Restaurant. Breakfast was, in Continental terms, very good. The room was upstairs, with no elevator. Basic, quite spartan room, but it had all you need when on the road.
Cons: Nothing at all.
Pros: Set next to a lake in a quiet village this was the perfect rural retreat on our touring journey through France. Perfect for anybody travelling with a dog with areas to run and a lovely walk around the lake. Nice welcoming people. Good clean room. Good big bed with comfy topper mattress. Good shower. Good food. Good beer. Good value. Perfect way to end a long day in the car.
Cons: Nit picking - the towels were small and thin
Pros: ... Very good value for money. Pleasant hosts and surroundings. An ideal place for a stopover but not on a hot day, although the bar was cooled by a fan.
Cons: On the hottest day of the year (38°c) the bedroom lacked any form of cooling and ventilation, other than an open window. Very basic, but...
Pros: This was not an original stop in our touring schedule but we moved on early from Brittany and chose to return here having stayed two weeks before. This is a simple Auberge overlooking a lake, which offers great hospitality and relaxation. Cannot fault it - bed, shower, and even fluffy big towels. Was very glad we returned for a second stay.
Pros: A great little hotel in a quiet location. I will definitely return when next in the region.
Pros: Continental breakfast was very nice, host offered to top up the contents. The location was rural, quiet and very peaceful. The hosts were very nice, and despite the language barrier we managed to communicate with each other.
When you stay at Auberge la Source in Cieux, you'll be 8 minutes by car from Center of the Memory of Oradour sur Glane. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Friendly helpful staff & great food
Pros: Perfect for an overnight stop, nice welcoming staff.
Pros: You were made to feel extremely welcome, nothing was too much effort, the character of the hotel was excellent and the food was outstanding.
Cons: Bathroom a little small, no WiFi and no air con.
Pros: Breakfast lacked fresh fruit or cheese board. No tea/ coffee making facilities in room.
Cons: The Auberge is a 2* Logis but quite pricey - 92euros for one night plus 22euros for breakfast. Lovely location and old building. Friendly and efficient staff. Secure parking for car with 2 bikes. Comfortable bed but no tea/coffee making facilities.
Pros: Typical Logis - never disappoints - adequate sleeping facilities, superb restaurant and wonderful owners and staff to welcome and spoil the traveler. These owners certainly do that. If you want modern 5 star accommodation Logis are not for you, but for good cheapish, but comfortable accommodation, and good food., this is the place. Not far from some very interesting sights.
Cons: I am not going to nitpick.
Pros: We were met at the reception desk by the owner who could not have been more pleasant or helpful. The interior of the hotel is full of character and very clean. The bedroom was excellent and just the right size. Despite not very good weather the "resplendant patron" went beyond the call of duty to facilitate outside seating so that we could indulge in a couple of drinks and take in the very pleasant views of the gardens and surrounding area.
Cons: My wife had a tussle with the hamburger in the restaurant, but when we pointed out the shortcomings to the "patron", he was very appreciative and gave me a free "digestif" in gratitude.
Pros: Very welcoming owners. Excellent restaurant, both in terms of food and environment.
Cons: Bedroom/bathroom a bit cold and characterless
Pros: Warm welcome, assistance with parking, comfy room with far reaching views, great meal and wines in restaurant and delightful morning brrakfast.
Cons: happy with everything
With a stay at La Grange Ancienne in Montrollet, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Saint-Junien Collegiate Church and The Corot Site. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: everything was perfect
Pros: Our room was beautiful - roomy, clean and tastefully decorated The pool was exactly what you would want on a hot summer day, to compliment the very warm and hospitable welcome from Teresa and Andrew. Our evening meal, prepared by Teresa with able assistance from the Glamourous Andrew, was honestly magnificent. Breakfast was also great with a selection of cereals, breads, yoghurts croissants, pain au chocolate and fruit - with orange juice and our choice of Chocolate over tea and coffee.
Cons: There is nothing we didn't love about the hosts and their wonderful property
Pros: A great friendly welcome from the owners. A house that has to be seen to believed! Wonderful dinner with the owners and another couple. Being informed of Oradour sur Glane close by. Google it and prepare yourself for an emotional visit.
Pros: A lovely room in a beautiful setting. Excellent breakfast, Theresa is the perfect host!
Cons: We loved everything about the place.
Pros: Teresa & Andy are the perfect hosts. We had an evening meal which was excellent. Our room was very comfortable, and, after a long day’s drive, we had a good night sleep.
Pros: The most relaxing environment we have found for a long time, which made you just want to stay in, sit back and rest. Beautiful location with fantastic hoasts. This is a top marks location to stay. We very rarely go back to the same place twice as there are so many places to visit, but this is one of those rare places for us. You are well located here for visiting Oradour-Sur-Glan which is a worthy visit albeit very saddening. But then the local village which exhibits rural village life 100 years ago is a good balance. The walks and scenery are everywhere. Try and take longer than a short break here, you will only regret it is over too quickly if not.
Cons: We were not there for long enough.
Pros: Everything about this property and the people that run it was just so lovely. The people really made us feel at home and did everything they could to help us. Also they prepared an evening meal for us both which was of a very high standard, as was the breakfast too. We simply loved staying there and would certainly recommend it to anyone who was thinking of staying in this area as a lovely place to stay, with wonderful hosts also.
Cons: Nothing could have been better - only for us to have stayed much longer!
Pros: This a great property to stay at. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly. The food is really good too. The accommodation is top notch and the grounds are so lovely.
Pros: An amazing experience with delightful hosts, who attendees to every need ! We elected for the meal and it was ... incredible ! Would highly recommend this property :)
