Stella & Luna - Calatabiano - Building

9.7 Excellent (70 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Calatabiano, Stella & Luna is within a 15-minute drive of Lido Mazzaro and Giardini Naxos Beach. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and an elevator (lift).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stella Luna was centrally located, within walking distance to restaurants and shops. The room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast----Awesome---- what can I say. Joseph made the best cappuccino of my trip. The breakfast included a variety of food from croissants and danishes to focaccia and mini quiches. He also provided fruit. Joseph was exceedingly helpful and cordial. I would highly recommend this B&B. A true gem.
Cons: I liked everything about this place and would return. If you are incapacitated, you may have difficulty with the stairs, but its no problem under normal circumstances.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast are wonderful, the "stuff" are amaising, like always. ;)

Pros: Giuseppe, the owner was so charming! And gives you a very warm welcome! Always smiling :) we also liked the fact that he will ask for the time to approximately arrive so that he can switch on the AC in advance so that you'll find the room cool as he did for us!
Cons: Everything was perfect!

Agriturismo San Cataldo Farm Home - Motta Camastra - Building

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place to relax in nature and lots of activities for kids. Food is exceptionally good and fresh. Hosts are very welcoming and go out of their way to make you enjoy your stay. Will definitely go again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The bed was extra comfy. The food was superb and fantastic value.
Cons: The weather was very cold, and although there was heating it turned off when we left our room to eat, making our return rather chilly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in different places around Sicily, and by far this is the closest to definition of “agriturismo”. The place is set on a top of the hill with breathtaking views of Etna. The chalets are very comfortable and clean, you don’t much see other people, it’s very quiet here (cicadas and goats only ). Hosts Filippo and Rita are very welcoming and kind people, Rita’s cooking (we only had breakfasts and few dinners) are perfect, products are local and super fresh, portions are big. Imagine dining at evening having typical antipasti, primi, secondi, dolci, wine and limoncello, and all the time see Etna slowly covered by night. We stayed only 4 nights here and didn’t have a chance to use all activities offered, but even seeing how pool is decorated was a real pleasure. Taormina is probably the place everyone here wants to see. It takes 40 minutes to drive there. Park your car at Porto Catania. This is a modern, supervised parking within 2 minutes walk from city gate. Remember the level you park and use elevator for level 7 to exit. There is also a cashier you can pay your ticket after (or machine). Explore the beautiful town, visit Teatro Greco, have granita in Bam Bar. If you walk through the town (20 minutes) to Porto Messina, take a cable car (3 euros round trip) down to see Isola Bella. We were not impressed with the beach (pebbles), but the water is super clean, do some snorkeling. Filippo suggested to go to another beach (he even gave us beach umbrella) - San Marco. I would highly recommend this one. It’s free, there is a 3 euros half day parking within 100 meters, very clean seashore and water. Have some beach shoes because there is mix of sand and pebbles, but you can manage even without them. We also decided to have some wine tasting in Gambino vini (we booked it online, pay when visit). I’ve read some negative reviews concerning 10-15 minutes drive uphill to the property, place being far from restaurants etc., and a dog being part of the restaurant.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: filippo was very nice and helpfull, his wife cooks very good and not to forget the beutifull views of etna..... value for money worth to try
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts go out of their way to enthuse their guests. The food, especially the breakfast and the four course lunch. The first course consisting of various Sicilian nibbles and pasta are a veritable melting pot of flavor. The area is simply majestic.
Cons: The road to go to the agriturismo is slightly difficult to navigate. Thus avoid visiting when its dark.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is amazing - 5.5 km up a mountain with no GSM coverage. Ample time to relax and unwind.
Cons: The place was full of Maltese people and since we are Maltese ourselves we hoped for non Maltese people around us. However it was not a deal breaker in any way or form.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good food, very friendly staff, clean and peaceful atmosphere. Just great!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved the owners - Filippo and Rita - they were warm and wonderful. Loved our cabin - it was spacious and had an amazing view of Mt Etna! Loved the food - dinners were delicious! They make their own fresh cheese every week. Fell in love with their massive dog Wilson and the resident peacock which was strutting about...
Cons: There was nothing to dislike!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, cleanliness and the area.
Cons: The dinner. It wasn't value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great! Pity we only stayed for a night. Will definitely re visit. Owner was extremely welcoming and food was great!

Pros: The property was wonderful ! The scenery and the location was amazing .
Cons: The staff was incredibly lovely and helpful . They went out of there way to make us happy which is something you hardly find today . We loved everything about this hotel and highly recommend it .
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting, very clean and modern hotel.
Cons: Little bit expensive when you’re there, and we had to look up a taxi number to take us into Linguaglossa ourselves as the hotel couldn’t provide one. Some staff extremely helpful but one or two not so much.
6.3 Good
Pros: The pool was really nice and the car service was free.
Cons: The service is not great. No one introduced us to the hotel and the facilities such as where to find the spa, bar or restaurant. The food is not fresh, avoid the burger that was industrial. Overall there’s no atmosphere in the hotel. No proper bar.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Exceptionally clean. Very comfortable rooms. Uncrowded pool area. Very nice staff. Fabulous view of Mt Etna.
Cons: Would have liked a heated pool. Lack of informal dining facilities in the evening.

Pros: True 5 star boutique hotel
Cons: There is nothing not too like here
5.8 Okay
Pros: View was great and bedroom and bathrooms great too
Cons: The spa was poor and the breakfast was sub standard for a 5 star hotel. Also we were left stranded by the taxi transfer rganised through the hotel at midnight with little/no remorse!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely helpful and co-operative. Also before and after the holiday. It left us feel comfortable and welcomed.
10.0 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very good .. good breakfast , wonderful view of the Mediterranean .. nice pool .. although it rained when I was there .. and close to many beautiful spots around Mt Etna
Cons: My room was in a seperate area from the main hotel , so you had to walk up a bit of a rough road to get to breakfast .. the rooms were pretty basic but very clean .. the walls were very thin in these particular rooms . You could hear everything from your neighbours on either side . They should address that ..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Views, food , friendly staff and the pool area
Cons: Limited WiFi due to a problem during our stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel exceeded our expectations in every aspect. We stayed 7 nights. We stayed in the separate building down by the cherry trees. Surrounded by olive, orange, lemon and grapefruit trees around the property, our room backed out onto a grass lawn with the most beautiful views of the snow peaked mount etna. The room is fantastic, with a mini bar, a sofa, kettle with tea and coffee and an extremely comfortable king size bed. Our bed was made daily, pillows were amazing and bedding all of very high quality, which seems to be an area many hotels seem to skimp on these days... so very pleasantly surprised! There is a Michelin Star restaurant up the road, in which we ate, and was nice, but I would better recommend Tale kitchen. That may sound an exaggeration, but the chef at Tale is fantastic and the food was superb. The menu changes according to season but would recommend especially the gnocchi (best we have ever tasted). During our stay we ate every item on the menu, and were never once disappointed. The staff are fantastic. We arrived extremely early in the morning and were given access to our room immediately, no questions asked. We were offered a free upgrade, though we still opted to stay in the room we booked, never the less the gesture was generous and greatly appreciated. On checkout, we were told to vacate the room whenever we were ready, absolutely no stress what so ever. Breakfast was a similar experience. Fantastic spread, and we always arrived late, later than breakfast was supposed to go on for, but never a problem. The hotel itself is a design hotel, with beautiful design everywhere you look. It is a pleasure to behold, and on more than one occasion we would just wander around and appreciate the details, design, architecture, view and terrain. This area of Sicily is gorgeous. The towns up further up the mountain are filled with great rustic restaurants, wine bars and vineyards, as well as traditional cheese and salami shops. Top marks in all areas.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated and landscaped hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, pool area was great and the food was delicious!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is so stylish!! And I love the nature all around it - lime and grapefruit trees and all the flowers! Food at the restaurant (although a little expensive) was so worth it - the dining experience was amazing, so I would recommend to eat there at least for one night!! Pool was gorgeous and huge and had amazing views of the coast/countryside/Etna. There are lots of wineries in the area and it is only a 45 minute drive to the Mount Etna northern carpark where you can get a jeep excursion up to the very top!
Cons: As it is a boutique hotel it only has 10 rooms so it did feel a little quiet. You definitely need a car and the local towns are 10/15 mins drive away - a few nice restaurants to choose from but no bars to have a drink in the evening.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The look of the hotel is great. The pool was beautiful and the staff around the pool area helpful and friendly.
Cons: There didn’t seem to be many staff in the main hotel area and was hard to find someone to speak to on a couple of occasions. The garden rooms in the separate building are down a hill so not suitable for people with mobility problems.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: With my wife 6-7 months pregnant we were a bit worried in the beginning as our room was in an annex some 300m away from the main building. But it didn't bothered us at the end. The walk after a very good dinner was enjoyable. A big thanks to the cuisine and the sommelier for their efforts. The food was really excellent.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A very stylish boutique hotel in a quiet location with lovely views and an attractive garden and pool area. Staff were helpful and friendly. We were upgraded on arrival, which was a very pleasant surprise, and the spacious, nicely designed bedroom was comfortable and clean. High quality food is served in the restaurant by really friendly staff. This is more a fine dining experience and, as another reviewer mentions, a little on the expensive side but nevertheless an enjoyable experience. Overall an excellent, relaxing experience. Would highly recommend.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The moment you drive through the gates you know you have arrived somewhere special. The interiors and exteriors are exquisite, the room spacious and comfortable, the pool area and view stunning and the tasting menu for dinner was sublime. Breakfast, plentiful and tasty.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Had an excellent stay. Everything was clean and new. I liked especially that the number of guests is limited so that it's never crowded at the breakfast or the pool. On top of that all personnel was very friendly.
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about it and we keep coming back here . The place is so peaceful and tranquil . The rooms are nice and clean . The staff are friendly and welcoming . The breakfast was very generous with selection of eggs , freshly baked cakes / fruits ect . It s basically feels like a friend s house rather than a hotel . 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lively staff and very smily. Great food, great service.
Cons: No WiFi in rooms
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It felt like paradise. Having breakfast al fresco. Enjoying the scenery that surrounded the buildings. Very nicely converted wine making building. Taninina the hostest was always there for anything we needed. The swimming pool area was very comfortable and quiet. Great food for dinner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fantastic. The bila is beyond expectations, the garden, view, pool! Everything was so incredible. We really enjoyed staying in that paradise in the middle of no where. Very good breakfast with a lot of options. Highly recommended!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, scenic area. Quiet, with a beautiful view of the hills. The pool is nice, although it was somewhat cold in May, but should be great during summer. The rooms are clean and idyllic, the breakfast is amazing!
Cons: The coffee served at breakfast and the food during dinner wasn't the best we had in Italy. The shower was a bit strange in temperature and strength. The rooms are a bit noisy.
6.8 Good
Pros: The garden and the beautiful lazy dog, Toto
Cons: The bed not comfortable and the bathroom needed more furnishings.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing room, very friendly staff. Good breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Relaxed AND highly sufficient staff (which is a rare combination). Friendly people (special thanks to Tanina). We were there to relax and this is exactly what we could do. Of all the restaurants we ate diner at, we liked the food at Edone the best. Honest and simple food. Breakfast was great too with good choices. Lunch was possible as well which is a bonus and their salads are really nice. Clean rooms (we had the luxury of the family suite which is amazing), fantastic site and they are working around the clock to keep it all nice and tidy. Checking in outside of regular hours was no problem at all. In summary, a fantastic experience and I would recommend everyone to spend their relaxing vacation days with Anna and her team.
Cons: The mosquito's in the evening outside (luckily not inside the rooms) - but not much one can do about that. That's nature.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and accommodating staff. Location had beautiful scenery and pool area.
Cons: Mattress and pillows on bed could have been more comfortable.
B&B Domus Candida - Calatabiano - Bedroom

Pros: Lovely quiet B&B. Excellent room with lovely garden view. Excellent host, Alessandro, who made superb coffee and provided wonderful breakfasts. A really good place to stay.
Cons: All great.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: AMAZING Sicilian breakfast and very nice and friendly host
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpfull staff, Alessandro is pleasant guy and make family feeling at this B&B
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I spend a wonderful time in Domus Candida. Alessandro was very hospitable and greeted us with tons of useful info about nearby attractions and restaurant recommendations. The breakfast were Sicilian style including home made sweets and fruits straight from the garden a truly superior experience.
Cons: All was perfect :)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very friendly and very helpful. He really made us to feel at home. Alex offered us fresh fruit on arrival, suggested places where we could eat and even forwarded a camera that we had left behind at no charge. The place was very clean and with adequate space. Bathrooms were modern and very clean and toiletries were provided
Cons: The beds: Not very comfortable, need upgrading to more modern mattresses. There was no off-street parking however the car could be parked on the street in front of the building.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Alessandro was an excellent host, with helpful information and vouchers for Mt Etna. He supplied breakfast of our choice, with some special homemade treats as well....eccellente!
Cons: The streets are a little tight in Calatabiano, so I didn't really enjoy driving to and from the accommodation....but that's probably because I'm used to a bit more road space back in Australia! Parking might be a problem in peak season, or if other B&B guests have vehicles. Might be worth checking on the parking situation first.
B&B Casa Mia - Gaggi - Building
8
9.3 Excellent (75 reviews)

Located in Gaggi, B&B Casa Mia is within a 10-minute drive of Gole Alcantara Botanical and Geological Park and Giardini Naxos Beach. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My sister and I stayed for 10 days and the location was excellent. We came to Gaggi for a family reunion. The triple room was perfect for us. Each morning the owners went above and beyond to make sure we had a great breakfast. They explained the different cakes and muffins which were home made. Valeria and her mother made us feel at home. They are beautiful people.
Cons: The only down fall was there was no elevator but they are working on adding one to the property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owners daugther speaks english really good (best that we've met so far) and is extremally helpful and volunteers to translate with other people or call restaurants. The restaurant that she recommended whas a bliss. The room was nice and clean (they clean every day). And the orange homemade cake that was on breakfast is to die for.
Cons: The main road is quite noisy especially in the morning, but i think that only one of the rooms is facing it.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect and Valeria and her mom are really the sweetest and kindest hosts you can imagine. Valeria even organized soy milk for breakfast and gave us so many helpful tips concerning local sites, restaurants, and activities around Gaggi and Taormina. The room was super comfy, very recently refurbished/renovated and very clean. We really felt more than welcome and at home during our stay - thank you so much! Check out the restaurant run by two lovely ladies right across the street of B&B Casa Mia - delicious sicily-typical food <3 !
Cons: It's really criticism on a very high level but we would have found it nice if during breakfast butter, marmelade, etc. would not have been offered in small, single packages but instead in bowls where you would be able to take only as much as you need with a spoon. Would be a big plus for the environment - #beatplasticpollution and save ressources :) !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming and friendly staff, tasty breakfast, spacious and modern room
10.0 Excellent

7.5 Good
Pros: + if you are interested the host organizes a tour to mount etna for a standard price + the car was parked on the property only accessible through a gate + there is a small bakery nearby where you can get authentic panini (they dont speak very good english) + the host who served fresh breakfast every morning was nice and uncomplicated and spoke very good english
Cons: - maybe sometimes a bit too secluded for we did not want to drive over an hour every time we wanted to visit a bigger town - for someone used to eating hearty in the morning after a week I despised eating a big sweet breakfast so the nearby bakery came in very convenient
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and comfortable, very nice room, marvellous view and a very helpful hostess. All information we needed. Nice breakfast. Will definitely recommend it to others.
Cons: Nothing is
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great rural location and facility. Room view was wonderful.

Pros: The place is lovely and the service is excellent
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very helpful host, clean room, the private beach is nice
Cons: Somewhat limited breakfast, but still good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, gated among a sprawling garden of lemons, oranges, fruit and nut trees. Walk to the river was nice too.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This place is lovely, nestled in an orchard with access to the beautiful river. There are walnut trees which we really enjoyed! The gorge is just up the road and the coast is a quick drive. It has wonderful potential. The staff was very nice.
Cons: The rooms are big and airy but a bit spartan as is the property. A few pots and plantings would go a long way and the place would be fabulous. It looks newly renovated. Also the breakfast was very very sweet which is hard for kids. They do not take cards but there is an ATM down the road in town.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: very clean and comfortable room. also, the location near the river was great. we hiked on the river bed from house to the Alcantara River Canyon park (where the lift is) and back. This was an interesting 3h.

Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant setting in rural setting, between orchards. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Excessive noise from highway, to extent that sleeping was hindered.
6.8 Good
Pros: Loved the gardens, outdoor terraces, and the room ambiance. Our host was very sweet and helpful and accommodating to our requests.
Cons: The property is located right between two of the largest and most noisy highways in the area. We thought we would be visiting a nice quiet farm in nature, and were shocked to discover the amount of traffic noise and light pollution. The restaurant at the hotel was closed the day we came, and we were hoping to eat in and enjoy the ambience of the farm and the scenery, but instead had to leave the hotel and eat out because there was no food available there. When we booked the hotel we were not notified that anything would be unavailable the date of our booking, and this would have been nice to know ahead of time
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Size of room
Cons: Noisy, Highway is nearby
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, food made in-house, clean
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast with fresh pastries, cakes, home-grown fruit and preserves and squeeze-your-own orange juice. Beautiful farmhouse building with gardens and incredibly helpful and friendly staff. The location is excellent - the only (minor) caveat being you can hear the road traffic as a consequence of being well connected. It is easy to get to anywhere and the nearest town and beach is only a few minutes drive away. Views of Etna and the sea from the amazing veranda. Highly recommended.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location. Beautiful grounds. Wonderful breakfast (you could eat things picked that morning - oranges, grapefruits, figs, pears etc.) The orange juice consisted of a bowl of freshly picked oranges and a juicer - so good!
Cons: The check in was a bit late and there was hardly ever a staff member to contact. We did not have our cell phones and calling someone was always required. I was lucky enough to have gotten the wifi password, so I could use Skype. But that was pretty inconvenient.
7.0 Good
Pros: Clean rooms and very good service. Nice old building with beautiful garden. Close to the pebble beach, Taormina and Etna Park.
Cons: Location is very "unfortunate" for holiday relaxation - between noisy motorway and railways...
7.0 Good
Pros: very service-minded staff Excellent breakfast closeness to beach
Cons: A communal room would have been nice
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Charming place to stay, in the middle of an orange and lemon orchard. Delicious breakfast, very carrying staff - we were able to cancel the reservation we made for dinner, our children being too tired.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic breakfast with locally made marmelades and self pressed orange juice. The surroundings of the location are stunning and the hosts are very helpful. Great location to see a lot in the area.
Cons: Unfortunately dinner at the Antico Borgo is only possible in the weekend.

Pros: Alcantara resort was excellent, we liked it a lot. The staff was very friendly, food was very good and especially it was very clean. Will come again for sure

Pros: Amazing place, amazing staff, very quiet and comfortable rooms. Pool was great, location just perfect (if you want to have a break from city life). Very good breakfast. We definitely want to go back there.
Cons: Wifi could works better, but there is good mobile LTE network connection.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, friendly, helpful, polite... Beautiful pool with surrounding gardens... Magnificent view from room 103 to Mt Etna....beautiful vomcano
Cons: Perhaps with service a bit slow with clearing the plates, cups etc on the tables otherwise everything else was splendid!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is amazing place. Everything that people do in this hotel they do with love. Amazing service, great breakfast, nice garden and you will feel like at home. You will be happy there - 100%.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts went out of their way to make sure our stay was relaxing. Nando was an exceptional host. My 18-month old kid felt at home with Nando and the other staff. The food was amazing. and the place was well kept, and well maintained.
Cons: I cannot think of anything I did not like.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Cared and clean garden and pool area. Free Tennis court. Good breakfast. Allesandro at the reception was extremely helpful in planning things
Cons: Gaggi itself is not a vivid place, means you need to drive anywhere
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good. Room with attached balcony in general was great except the smell we had constantly. Pool area very relaxing and quiet. For a day or two, it is a quick gateway from the urban life to the nature and quietness. Spacious free parking. Alessandro and Nicola were very kind and hospitable!
Cons: The room was smelling and it bothered us. Bed wasn't comfortable. On booking.com there are varieties of activities this resort serves, but once we reach there we find out that only tennis court was what they actually have from mentioned. Poor score for spa and massage section which is held by the swimming pool. Only one restaurant at the resort giving option for the set menu and a la carte.
7.0 Good
Pros: Intimate cottages surrounded by a beautifully maintained garden. Very nice staff. Delicious breakfasts
Cons: The standard in the rooms was not as high as the entire facility The room was only a small tv and fridge The facility did not provide water in bottles for guests No new plastic cups were delivered to the room Pool towels were not exchanged General for a high level of the facility, the rooms were quite simply furnished Every evening, the hotel arranged parties by the pool for guests from outside
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful garden with great views. Decent location (Etna, Taormina, Catania airport). Large room. Good parking. Delicious breakfast.
Cons: Staff. This place looks awesome and has very good facilities. However the staff made our stay uncomfortable. Although they were helpful and had a lot of fake smile it were the details that bothered us. Details like room cleaning at 9.30 am (too early!), having to pay for a small plastic bottle of water (at least one of these is free in every hotel so the guest can have it after late arrival...), getting cold "hot chocolate" (it was made hot when previous guests ordered it and we got what was left - it should be done again...). Not to mention weird rules displayed in a room (like absolutely no eating in there) which we obviously didn't comply to and ate our snickers bars ;-)

Pros: A gem of a hotel! Extremely friendful staff (family running hotel), wonderful restaurant, spacy room with a balcony, convenient location with a parking just a couple of steps away. Decent breakfast. Our room was heated before we arrived so it was very comfortable in the beginning of March. All in all, we received a very warm and pleasant welcome. Unforgettable place.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a rather remote hotel run by a family who also run the very good restaurant attached. Our room was large and comfortable. Food was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and welcoming staff
Cons: it wasn't easy to drive there. Even hotel texted the correct location, sat-nav puts us to an extremely narrow road.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location in fantastic small town. Not easiest to find and we got lost but the owner came out of the hotel to find us and help us park as near as possible.
Cons: The room was a good size but a bit cold. We were out of season and the room could have been heated before we arrived.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the beautiful town. Very friendly personnel. Good restaurant. Excellent price/quality relation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is in a beautiful, tranquil medieval village hugging the side of one of Etna's slopes. There is an old church and the remains of a medieval Castle just up the road. Parking is free and in the town square. The room was comfortable, clean and with a good ensuite. Breakfast was really nice with fresh fruit, bread, cheese, ham, cereals, eggs etc etc. The hosts and staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome from the start. The restaurant attached to the hotel is excellent and like the accommodation, it is excellent value. We stayed overnight on our way to climbing Etna and were thoroughly charmed by the whole place.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the town, location , staff, neighborhood and the hotel restaurant. The room was immaculately made up each day. We felt warmly welcome always.
Cons: This hotel is located at the top of an ancient hill town which is good news but for driving, bad news. Your satellite navigation will do a poor job of getting you to the plaza close to the hotel and the hotel is off a side alley from the plaza. Park in the plaza and look to the the right of the little cafe. Just persevere with signs and some directions from the hotel. You will make it!! IT IS TOTALLY WORTH THE TROUBLE. Just be patient, be prepared to back up and don’t get suckered into a street that looks too narrow.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was convenient to park the motorcycle in front of the hotel. Restaurant menu and service were rather good.
Cons: The visible floor of the room was clean. But I dropped something and looked under the bed and was not amused to find that the floor was not cleaned for ages.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived late and the staff were very helpful. Big room, good view

Pros: Breakfast is superb. Accommodation is very good as are the facilities and location. The environment is very welcoming as La Casa delle Monache is surrounded by pristine countryside.
Cons: Restaurant is expensive. Portions are very small and it has a very restricted menu. Food is not as inviting. That said there are a few good restaurants around and one can always eat dinner there.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is central and the staff couldn't be more helpful.
Cons: Shower cubicle too small.

Cons: If the break fast was a little bit more choices for example...fried eggs, sausage, backed beens ect...would be perfect for us but on the other hand we have enjoyed eating the beakfast what they have offered with their traditional food.

6.8 Good
Pros: La casa e carina. Posione per l etna e ideale
Cons: Breakfast nothing to write about. Butter was all expired. Cakes offered where dry. No fresh products like typical italian croissants. Almost all items offered for breakfast where prepacked food.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place to relax. Staff was very helpful especially Simona and Angela.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed five nights in Apartment L'Ulivo: Breakfasts... outside, serviced from 8am - 10am were really excellent. The two staff Angela & owner Antonina were warm and friendly but have little to no English (and we had little to no Italian!) but the reception staff at the hotel (owned by the same family just across the road - and where you check in on arrival, have good English). The pool was a delight, the views of Etna also, and the apartment itself was well equipped. The little kitchenette area was ok for limited use (two gas rings, no oven, very small fridge.) Apartment had lots of windows and was cool enough at night that we didn't need to use the aircon. (Weather was mixed during our stay June 2018) Although only 3km from nearest town Linguaglossa, not suitable (in our view) for walking to and from the apartment for an evening/meal out as roads narrow and Sicilian drivers can be somewhat uncautious. Enjoyed visit to Castiglione di Sicilia, a marvellous unspoilt hilltop town/village half and hour's drive away with views to die for, and virtually deserted the afternoon we went (good lunch there at La Dispensa dell'Etna.) Taormina well worth a visit for the wow views, the people watching (very crowded and touristy) and the marvellous Greek amphitheatre above the town. But we'd had more than enough crowds for a day so we were glad to spend our other days here exploring the foothills and small towns below Etna.
Cons: Little fridge could have been colder. Could have done with a visitors' book in the apartment to share useful info for other guests.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good wifi signal in room and TV channels. Room done daily. Breakfast has - scrambled eggs, fried bacon and fennel sausages, cheese and salami table, champagne and great selection of sweets
Cons: Nil
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location is good if you like to be in the countryside off the beaten track. Nothing much to like about the rooms themselves.
Cons: Upon arrival, we were greeted by a worker from the adjacent hotel. She showed us our room and also mentioned that the automatic gate does not work and that we needed to close it manually - it was raining that night so we had to get wet to open it and close it. Unfortunately this was not the only issue but a sign of things to come. She immediately left and we realized that one of the lights in the room was not working - bulb was out. Moreover the room did not match the images we saw when we booked. Floor tiles were antique, but completely worn out and not fit for purpose - they felt dirty and were uncomfortable to walk on barefoot. The bathroom sink and shower had very slow drains. The furniture was antique, but in need of maintenance - I almost cut my hand with the wardrobe handle. The double bed was two single beds placed together with a gap in between - no topper. Decor was shabby and included odd-looking photos on the walls. Breakfast was very scarce - some bread and 3 pieces of cold-cuts with some cake options - however very basic in comparison to other places we visited (which costed less). Worst of all however, was the fact that the room was an interconnecting room separated by a door. We didn't think much of this as it is normal to have such options. However we were up till about 1am hearing the conversation from the neighboring room - the door did not have any seals and you could even see the light through it. The next morning we were again woken up at 6:30am because of the neighbors alarm ringing - which we could hear so clearly that we thought it was ours. When we contacted the owner, an old lady who is there in the mornings, she was quite rude and said it is not her fault that we were too "sensitive" to these noises. After explaining all of the above to the owner- she still did not offer any form of compensation and didn't speak to us again. - Honestly - avoid this place. For the money you pay you can get so much better elsewhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All perfectly. A good place to explore the region of Etna. Great breakfast. There is a swing for children and a swimming pool.
Cons: There is no refrigerator in the room, there is only a common outside. But this is not a big problem.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view of Mount Etna from the property. Use of some of the superb facilities at the main hotel over the road. Lovely features in the old building which was our apartment.
Cons: As with other country properties we have stayed in on this trip, this one was very difficult to find using satnav. We had to phone twice to get directions as there were no signs to it from the main road from Taormina. Toilet was some way from the bedroom and up a few steps, which was awkward in the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is gorgeous with lovely views of Mt. Etna and the surrounding country side. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Pros: Amazing value for money and very good breakfast.

Pros: Everything. Spend extra and choose this place. You will love it. Breakfast is amazing and the staff is kind. Plenty of places to eat nearby and a beautifull town. Parking underground. A bit tiny but a good driver will manage I recommend Antonnio’s pizza 2min away
Cons: All was good
6.8 Good
Pros: Room was great with a nice view to the Etna. The receptionist was very friendly and gave us some good advice on an excellent restaurant. Parking was also available for our mini-van car. Good location for bikers who are interested to bike to Etna Nord and drive to Etna South with departing with the bike from Zafferana to Etna South.
Cons: Light was missing in the bathroom, the fan did not work properly and there was no possibility to lay down the towels. You had to put them over the shower doors. Breakfast could have been better, not a lot of choice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful room, Amazing staff. Nothing but high compliments for this location. Spa experience was great, Food was great. Not a single issues.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location the staff and the breakfast
6.8 Good
Pros: good room breakfast ok but a lot of industrial things
Cons: I'm disapointed about the fact that nobody informed us that spa was an extra charge : nor at check-in, nor at the moment at the reservation of the hammam, nor at the spa, nor in the room on the directory such a suprise to see the charge on the bill I would have been happier with the hotel without this

Pros: I liked very much the location. A very quite place with clean pool. The owner is a very friendly person always ready to help with a smile. The setting for an abundant breakfast in the garden is excellent. We always dined at the property and always had very good food. At times he even asked us what we would prefer for dinner.
Cons: Maybe the light in the room could be brighter and a handrail by the stairs leading ti certain rooms would help a lot.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: First of all, I was looking for a place close to the Gorge and this is phenomenal! A 10minute walk and that's it. No parking problems etc. Parking available at the property. Big enough for +10 cars. The host was the nicest person, doing his absolute best. Breakfast was nice with fresh coffee and an omelette made specially for me! Pool was nice, scenery was beautiful. You cannot expect conditions of a 5star hotel for this price, but for what i paid it was just great! 11/10!! Thank you so much!!!
Cons: I liked everything!

Pros: Family run, owners are dedicated to their guests. Big clean room
Cons: Extras are overpriced such as toddler bed (20€/night) and below average evening meals

Pros: The location is excellent. Also the environment is very peaceful and the scenery is very nice. The owner was very helpful and willing to help.
Cons: The only thing that can be improved are the mattresses and the pillows since sometimes they are not so comfortable. The rest there is nothing else to mention.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic pool in middle of the vineyard with great views to the Etna. Great setting. Restaurant very high level with panoramic views. Staff highly motivated. Wine tastings are well balanced and structured. You may experience scicilly wines of good quality. Dinner was excellent. All new and modern. Perfect stay to explore Etna and wineries. Nice modern gym. Very quiet and private.
Cons: If you come later than 9h for breakfast (goes till 10h)you will not find it refilled.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A gorgeous property in a superb location whatever your interests.
7.0 Good
Pros: The position and views are wonderful. The pool looked lovely but the weather was too poor to swim so unfortunately we could not use it. The wines we tried were excellent.
Cons: The restaurant is separate to the accommodation and in a huge brightly lit cavernous room more like a school hall than an atmospheric restaurant. The view however is excellent. We were unable to add the bill in the restaurant to the total bill for our stay which was inconvenient. There was considerable construction in progress on the road/walk-way to the restaurant which was noisy and spoiled the surrounding ambiance. Also, after dark the steps were poorly lit and therefore dangerous for the long walk back to our room. There is no bar or comfortable lounge area anywhere in hotel.... only the pool wine bar which is too far away from rooms & restaurant so there is nowhere to relax & enjoy a pre-dinner or post-dinner drink. The bedrooms are decorated with dark colours (black doors, dark wood furniture). ..... more like a motel chain than an up-market Italian hotel!....they could be anywhere... no feel of Italy at all in the rooms. We found the rooms to be not cosy or welcoming at all.... very dark & functional. They lack a 'woman's touch' in choice of decor. Please decorate in light colours!!!!!. The information in the bedroom about the estate and facilities was minimal. The electronic gates at the entrance to the estate don't work very well. The reception was often locked & not manned so we had to wait for staff. The staff generally had a poor command of English. There were no books to read or leaflets/information about the area. For a wine estate one would expect lots of books in a lounge area about the local area and wines etc etc. No such information was available. There is nowhere to have a coffee or tea mid-morning or afternoon and there was no coffee -making facilities in the bedroom. It's such a shame as the position is fabulous and the whole experience could have been infinitely better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely everything. This place is outstanding. Wine, food, pool, breakfast, staff! Cannot give a hotel anywhere in the world a higher rating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I would highly recommend this place to stay in the area, because it so beautiful with all the wine hills around it and the etna infront of you!!! We couldn't believe our eyes. The view from the pool is amazing. And the breakfast is really good. You should definitely book the wine tasting with dinner. It was sooo good!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a fabulous stay. The scenery, the accommodation, the swimming pool, the gym, the bar and his wines... and the smoking Etna... Spacious, clean, comfy rooms. Good breakfast and the possibility to have a great dinner as well.
Cons: For the money you pay, we believe an omelette can be included into the breakfast ;) Maybe a bit more private parking space?
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very quiete and stylish place. Lovely wine bar and swimming pool area overlooking the vineyards with enough daybeds and umbrellas. Good breakfast. Rooms are comfortable with good airco. Our first night, we were kept awake all night by an irritating sound somewhere on the ceiling of some insects that could not be seen. We received another room and appreciated this gesture. The on site restaurant is brand new and has a WOW panoramic outdoor terrace overlooking the vineyard valley, mountains and Etna. Food is outstanding and at affordable prices.
Cons: Service could be improved. Although, if you ask something, they’ll arrange it and staff is friendly. Swimming pool is of good size but rather cold (even in July) and of rather basic building quality. For such a lovely place, one could expect a more high end type of swimming pool.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The accomodation was magical with the view on the etna between the vineyards. The personnel was kind and spoke great English!
Cons: Nothing!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wine tasting in the restaurant was a fantastic experience! Also a walk around the vineyards was very relaxing and the scenery was amazing.
Cons: The restaurant was just recently opened so it seemed to be searching for some routines. The staff in the restaurant was very kind but maybe a bit inexperienced? Not that it bothered my holiday :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Setting
Cons: Hard to find - more signs would be helpful
