Clean hotel & helpful staff - watch the parking tickets if you leave the car on the road! Bed hard and pillows uncomfortable
The staff was really friend. Best choice if you are looking for something new, clean and functional. Good internet connection. It´s not in the city center (20min walking distance) although it´s close to the University and there are some small shops close by.
They did not complete the clean of my room one day. It looked like they started part of the kitchette area and then did not complete it.
Functional. Fridge, microwave and kettle provide alternative food options. Simple no nonsense breakfast
It was right for 4 adults but generally acceptablr There are openings in the swinging doors to the shower area that created a problem with privacy. We had two teenage girls and two men.
it was very clean and had a lot of space and everything that you needed a small point wich may be a big point for someone else was that there was only a small amount of toilet paper and we ran out of....however we made use of the tissues that were there so it didnt impact on us particularly....us brits tend to make do i guess....overall it was very comfortable and in a nice location and that was the only thing and to be honest we felt it was a minor thing.....
Rooms were clean, bright and spacious.
The hotel is very good While we knew breakfast was extra - we decided to take, fot the kids it cost six euros but then there was no cereal specific for the kids - so we ended up paying just for a glass of milk, (as the cereal we had to buy ourselves)
Everything!! The breakfast
Comfortable and modern
Breakfast was rather poor. Except the bred and the coffee everything came in small plastic containers - looked very modern, but not exactly my taste. Would have preferred some real ham and cheese.
A magnificent beautiful and very romantic hotel in the heart of the centre, excellent location. Very friendly, helpful, good-looking and attentive multilangual personel. It was clean, big badroom with separated shower and bath, decent material. There was an apart room for the toilet, which is always a plus. An enormous and very comfort supersized bed: wish I had that one at home! The closet was big, spacious and full-mirored. A big indoor swimming pool located in the wellness and a giant hamam with music and a starsky. The breakfast was not a huge buffet, but you had everything you could wish for plus the quality of the food was superbe. Delicious! Spacy room but looked a bit 'empty', no little salon, nor those little extras like some chocolat, some fruit or fresh flowers to welcome you. But there was a bottle of water. No device to play music. A minus on the toilet for the ladies was the absence of a bin. We had a problem with gaining warm water the first night, but this was probably due erroneous use. The welness was very relaxing but unfortunately it was sometimes a bit noisious due playing children.
Service, food, and facility were all outstanding. Nothing
The location of the hotel suited our needs perfectly, as it was a stop over on our drive home from the south of France & it meant we didn't have a long journey to Calais the next day. The building itself was beautiful & it was nice to see a modern design/decor incorporated into a traditional building. The staff were friendly, efficient & very helpful & when we were unable to eat in their restaurant as it was full, they reccomended & booked a lovely alternative. That we weren't there for longer & that it was raining heavily so we were unable to explore the area!!
The location of the hotel, the interesting courtyard and the comfort of the bedroom There was notghing we didn't like
The cleanliness. The design of the hotel. Staff so helpful, spa facilities brilliant. Will def go back. NOTHING
It had the nicest room of any we stayed in in France. Parking lot didn't have enough spaces for all guests to park.
The best advantage of this hotel is the location. It is easy walking distance to all sights, shopping and restaurants.
This place is very quaint. It is in a great location next to the cathedral and is clean and comfortable despite being obviously very old (and by that I don't mean worn down - I mean that you can tell the building has been there forever but it is well taken care of). There is a nice court yard/patio with a very friendly cat and a nice breakfast. Would stay there again 100% The key system is a little old, other than that, everything is great!
Brilliant location just behind the cathedral, breakfast was excellent. Renovation work is currently being done on rooms.
Very central and had an old French charm Parking was difficult
Location and ambiance.. It is a typical French hotel and not like a chain hotel at all, individual but well decorated. Bed very comfortable and staff fine, even when we stayed beyond checkout time.
Personal touch, very friendly staff, beautiful location. Nothing, it was lovely, we would stay there again.
very central, nice spacious rooms parking and possibility to reach the hotel by car
proximity to city; quaintness of the surroundings
Location. Old French charm. Free use of internet. Breakfast better than expected. Shower facility and bathroom better than expected. No. For the price, in France, this was pretty good all round. If I tried I could probably find fault, as in any hotel anywhere!
Receptionists were friendly and welcoming. Hotel is full of character No Parking. Carpets on stairs is worn and corridors were needing decorating. Poor signage in hotel
The location in the centre with car parking.
Friendly reception even at 4:30 am!!! Poorly signposted, very difficult to find.
Clean, good, but unobtrusive service Was ok.
We stayed one night en route to Calais after travelling from South West France. Hotel difficult to find and we parked in public car park in the market which was only a short walk away. Very pleasant decor and nice comfortable room though a bit small and dark. Location is fantastic and for a one night stay, we were on the square close to all the restaurants and shops, was just perfect. We got a very good deal with trip advisor so thought hotel excellent value for money. Would recommend. Difficulty in finding hotel. Directions should be given with booking in view of location. Room rather small and dark.
The very pleasant hotel. The rooms is small but very comfortable. It`s not possible to reach the hotel by car. The very, very small lift.
All three of the women at the front desk were extremely helpful both with room and town questions. We had an early departure and were taken care of graciously.
Excelent location, good staff and facilites. On site parking is welcome and valued the decor and facilities in the bedrooms were poor and outdated, but generally clean and adequate
We liked our 6 day stay. The rooms were clean and quiet. This hotel is located where most tourists would like to be. The staff was extremely helpful and quite friendly. When there was a confusion about whether we wanted one big bed or two singles they easily fixed the problem to our satisfaction. The breakfast room was quite good.
The location The restaurant wasn't open, but it was a public holiday
The Location Access to the hotel by car not easy to find.
location, friendliness of staff, promptness of service the room was not made up early enough
Nothing special , type of hotel you will not remember except for the extraordinary attitude of 2 employees at the reception desk who were very helpful. The access by car is very complicated and parking very narrow.
Rooms are small but well furnished. The location is very convenient for tourism and the underground car park is very useful. The bed was too firm and the air conditioning was noisy and ineffective.
The friendly and helpful nature of the staff, a very good breakfast, and fine location for sightseeing
Excellent location, good facilities, very clean.
location uncomfortable bed, small room, expensive bar/mini bar
The location.. so close to the Cathetral, the Gros Horloge, shopping. The room was very small for 2.
Very pleasant and helpfull staff. Good local knowledge too. Rooms alittle on the small side.
Very nice location in central city. It may be difficult to find hotel by car. But i think it is usal in France due to many uni direction road.
The hotels location is superb for site seeing but very difficult to find, the availability of car parking is a joke. The hotel is fine just finding it and somewhere to park were the flies in the ointment.
location, fair breakfast, parking under the hotel the room is very small.the hotel can give a free parking to his guast
Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, restaurant and bar were excellant.
Excellent desk staff, good parking, quiet environment, easy walk to city would prefer duvets, bigger towels
Clean, helpful staff, closer to centre than expected with bonus of parking Lack of tea/coffee facilities in room
Convenient parking in the garage. La conception de douche est tout à fait innovante. The hotel's cruise ship theme. I kept wondering when Captain Merril Stubing would appear and ask, "Monsieur, may I heelp you pleeze..." L'Amour-Bateau s'amuse.
Perfectly comfotable and clean modern hotel, with a quirky design style in the corridors. Trying to find the place. My satnav didn't recognise the street name - no wonder its a shopping centre!. It was by shear chance that I found the car park - I didn't read anything i advance that suggested that the car park was under the hotel and a part of the shopping centre. At least the parking was free when we left on Sunday morning.
location and friendly staff
Cheap place to rest our heads after a long drive
Good location in the centre of the town. It's starting to look worn and is in need of a refit. Very small bathroom.
- next to shopping mall - tiny and dusty room - dirty carpet - smelly old pillows - room badly needs refurbishment and better maintenance!
Helpful staff, generally good facilities and evening meals were competitive. Thought the price was a bit excessive for the quality of the hotel.
Good car parking, helpful staff. Convenient for city centre.
Convenient location with free parking The room was rather spartan and the common areas were not clean
Friendly staff. Good location. Free parking. Only french TV channels.
The gentleman working the counter when I came to check-in was very nice. I was very happy to find out that they do have free wi-fi (unlike what is indicated on this site). Liked having a full bathtub with plenty of hot water, too! It's also very easy to get around town since the tramway stops just nearby, across the street (you can connect to metro/underground 1 stop away, too). The elevator is a bit old, feels creepy (another couple that rode with me had same sentiments, so it's not just me). The shower curtain needed replaced or bleached (bottom edge had rust stains, did not look too nice).
the staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble
We were well looked after by the excellent staff.
big room, friendly staff. the bathtub was not clean
Helpful staff, location, free parking, good room. No
The staff were very good and went out of their way to make things easy for us. It was difficult to spot the hotel when approaching in the dark. A larger more noticable sign would have been helpful
Close to the old historical pedestrian streets and close to the cathedral. Close to shopping and restaurants.
Location is good. Room was decent size. No blind. Hotel is pretty dark. Decor is terrible.
Very good central location with under cover secure overnight parking. Needs refurbishing, fixtures and fittings a little tired.
Good central location, within walking distance of the historical centre, bars, restaurants and tourist sites. Bathroom decor was very dark with a couple of tiles hanging off which exposed some mouldiness. Noisy throughout the night.
Good central location, Safe covered parking, Good value Breakfast.
Very central, easy to find, excellent underground secure parking, great for bikers. Friendly staff.
Very helpfull reception staff and very close to convenient parking. Offered smoking rooms. There was no shower curtain/barrier so the bathroom floor got very wet. Toilet seat was broken.
I enjoyed the staff - they were most accommodating to us and our needs. They certainly rate an A+ in my book and all can work at a 4 star hotel
Position of hotel was good for cathedral and shops Outdated decor of hotel, pipes leaking in foyer.hotel room nice size but tiles fallen of side of bath and toilet that stank like a portaloo I used at reading festival in 2009
the hotel dnner and service was excellent, breakfast staff not to be seen when found not so helpful more interested in clearing tables
easy and clean nothing
After initially being put in a room where the drain in the bath was blocked, when we complained, the staff on duty acted quickly to change us to a superior room. The room wasn't ready when we checked in after midday and the staff on duty at the time seemed totally disinterested. They weren't really geared up for tourists (unlike Novotel at Caen, where the staff were very friendly and helpful indeed). Also worth saying that the "hot" breakfast was warm and not very good; better to avoid paying for breakfast and eat fresh food in a local cafe.
Stayed here before, acceptable dining with polite service. Adjoining rooms for us and the children. Handy location, with better standard than other hotels we have tried nearby. Booking was confusing, with no apparent option for children's rates. They appeared on the form as adults! I had to print off seven pages, mostly in foreign languages, in order to retain the important booking details, which were in tiny print buried a long way down. Tried to charge for breakfast even though it was paid. Had to show the printout of the booking even though we had checked in with it, otherwise they wouldn't believe it was paid! Internet was free, but timed off every twenty minutes with a tedious logging on process required each time. Swimming pool bitterly cold.
Lots of outdoor space for our two young children. Children got a welcome gift and toys to entertain them at dinner. Room was very cramped, rather dark and in desperate need of a makeover. No-one explained how to get the sofa bed into two single beds. Pillows were lumpy, itchy blankets instead of duvets.
very clean and comfortable room. Quite and nice suroundings hard to find
Nothing, did not worth the price. There was a problem on the pipe of sink and toilet water come into my bath all over! It was extremely disgusting and smelling s..t all over!!! I just can't imagine how it would be if I would be inside the bath! arghhh.. It was late at night and they changed my room but there was no privilege given as apology for the disgusting experience, not even a cup of cofee next day!!! The hotel has no privileged location at all, it is actually besides all the budget hotels with actually almost the same room quality I would say. Charged wifi. Would never stay there again!
This is a very good functional hotel for a stop off. Nice room, pool, and good breakfast. It's a drive to get to centre of Rouen.
The kids liked the X box which was free in the foyer and the assess to a PC Evening menu
Very clean, comfortable, good food, staff excellent. Secure parking also a plus point Although food was good it was expensive ok for a few nights. Gps instructions were not correct if using a sat nav would recommend you use the hotels address.
luxurious room and nice surroundings
The tranquility, the swimming pool, There was a dog in the neighbouring garden which barked all afternoon when we first arrived. The breakfast was rather expensive
Extreme courtesy of all the staff. Willingness of staff to accommodate changes to arrangements. Location in very pleasant countryside.
Friendly staff, lovely village, fantastic restaurant only 200 meters away. Quiet place for a getaway. brand new furnishing.
The ambience was peaceful, rural, luxurious. We were to have stayed in the room called "Paris" but the aircon did not work, so we were upgraded to "New York." We did not ask for this, the concierge insisted. Both rooms were lovely, "New York" was especially luxurious. We enjoyed the terrace with its loungers and the jacuzzi and the decor. Although evening meal was not on offer, it was only a short and pleasant walk to a good restaurant, booked for us by the hotel. When paying the bill, we realised that it was a good idea to take a print-out of one's booking. We had a bargain! I was unjustifiably concerned that as the car park was not visible from the hotel, it was vulnerable. But the village of Jumieges is not like that, I am sure!
It was the best and available hotel Car parking is not convenient, maintenance glitches in the room, light bulb, bath tub not emptying, shower hanging loose, can't fix its position. At time of making reservation it is not clear that the rooms are in various houses on the premises. No restaurant.
I loved the room they all have a theme. The hotel is very pretty. Staff is friendly. Pity there is now restaurant. The breakfast is ok but expensive. If you ad the breakfast for two people and the room price it is a little over the top.
Peaceful and in the real french countryside.
The overall experience is outstanding
The setting is tranquil and the village is very picturesque. The hotel is rather expensive: it has no restaurant, a very limited bar facility, no safe parking. The room we were shown into on arrival had not been serviced. The young assistant was confused. We were upgraded. I am not sure how easily the situation would have been resolved had I not been fluent in french.
Easy to find, central location. Large underground car park
I normally stay at budget hotels, so I found this to be very luxurious. I had a huge double bed, a sofa, flat-screen TV, lovely toiletries in the bathroom, room service, AC, the works. The restaurant is very gourmet...and expensive, so check prices before you go. I didn't dislike anything about the hotel. If you don't have a car, then it's a 10-minute walk to find restaurants, shops, etc. That was the only downside for me.
Expensive food and drink on on-site restaurant
This is the third time we have stayed there. Very good for a city break and stop off on the way further south.
quiet room the internet connections at low bandwidth are terrible. it gives a very cheap impression of the hotel that they do not give customers paying 130E a night free internet.
Found the position of the Hotel is great and service staff is nice.
The hotel car park is extremely expensive. 14+ euros a day
Access to town easy with short 10 minute walk. Undercover car park on site. Staff pleasant.
convenience traffic noise
While, close to the Rouen Cathedral, this hotel is not really in a nice section of town.
Exploring Rouen Outside noise at night
Cleanliness of the room. The absence of elevator and heating.
In the city and close to all the tourist sights
We thought the staff gave good service and really tried to make our stay enjoyable, especially when the portable cot collapsed and our grandaughter was given a private room across the hall. good job. Location was excellent for walking or getting out of town to visit other sites. The outside noise from the bar, but that is something you cannot control.
The staff were very helpful and actively told us about events on in the city that evening and offered to book restaurants for us It was a little basic - for instance there was no air conditioning in the room
We particularly liked the location and the friendliness of the staff. Rooms were comfortable and the breakfast very nice. There is no lift in the hotel and carrying a baby up 3 flights of stairs was quite hard work. Parking is quite difficult.
proximity to old town and good restaurants + easy parking. Good rates and good continental breakfast.
It is very close to the cathedral and the historic city. The breakfast was good and they had the best coffee during our stay in France. It is very small one-way street which can be difficult to find and there was no lift and some interior construction while we stayed.
Convenience for other facilities
It was easy to find and although close to the road network there was no noise from outside. The patio and grassed area was pleasant in the evening sunshine. We had a good breakfast. No.
Quiet and comfortable good shower. Secure parking and hotel (entry by magic number keypad at night). Easy access to a13 and n154. Ok for one night. Restaurant not open for dinner (only breakfast at extra cost). Buffalo grill opposite only option without car journey. Lavatory seat mount broken (a general finding throughout France). Furnishings good but dated. No tea making facilities.
not much too much noise from the MacDonalds restaurant which is just behind the hotel.
Staff very helpful. English spoken. WiFi worked well. Room and shower very clean. Not advised that Restaurant for evening meal closed although several other restaurants available close by.
Convenient location and services. Good breakfast. Absence of restaurant during the weekend was not a problem as McDo and Buffalo Grill are both adjacent. Good value for money. Nothing.
Excellent location, wifi connection. Good food value and correct comfort in room and bathroom Old TV with a small screen
The staff were very helpfull. As the hotel restaurant was closed for the August break they were able to direct us to several eating places close by. Even though we only had a smattering of french between us
Location The bathroom smelt and did not seem clean
The hotel is coveniently close to main highways with a couple of fast food type oulets to eat at nearby. it is also close to the industrail areas without actually being sited on the park which some are, so, for business its in a good enough area. Breakfast was plentiful and of a good quality The rooms are basic, very basic. Beds are low, hard and very uncomfortable from what i am used to either at home or when i travel. (I travel a lot. 2-3 nights a week most weeks in hotels all over the world). I would not want to stay in this hotel again out of choice. Did not eat in the restaurant in the evning as it had been cosed for a month, presumably for a refurbishment,
the room was smelly, fag smoke, the air conditioning system had a musty smell
The staff were friendly and very helpful We were disappointed to discover that because the hotel was fully booked there was not even 1 spare pillow. One of our party needed to keep his upper body raised and to do this we had to fold up blankets and bed covers.
The staff were helpful in that we booked a room for 3 over the internet for our children and arrived having driven across france for 10 hours to be told they didnt have a room for 3 available, and that they often had problems with internet booking. They pulled a mattress into the room to accomodate. Dreadful internet booking service.
Good location for people with cars Too strong odor of some strong cleaning aid.
We were delayed by 6 hours due to a problem with Eurotunnel, I phoned them and they gave me the gate code and couln't be more helpful.
very quiet and close to vital amenities the three bedroom room was inadequately prepared for a third person no pillow or duvet . also had to set up the bed myself and the room was a standard size so third bed blocked access to teh fromt door or bathroom yes I booked this hotel via a representative who had asked the hotel or understood from teh hotel tha the rooms would be adjoining and next to each other. When I got there this was not so and the rooms were only on top of each other i.e you had to walk 100 metres to the stairs and walk back so as such were not next to each other
Very helpful and sympathetic receptionist. Very clean rooms. Free wifi.
Very clean and fresh. Good online price. Reception staff spoke very little English. Did not get what I was promised on the website, namely that I could have an extra bed in the room for free for my 9 yr old child. Hotel staff had no idea about this despite my request clearly shown on my booking invoice and the information that this was indeed the case.
Not a lot. Only one member of staff was friendly (morning member of staff), The room was dirty with cigarette end in bin. Single bed was broken, also the bedside table broken, We had a connecting door in our room which was not locked and asked a member of staff to check it but was not checked. Have stayed at Campanielle all over Europe and this was by far the worst. Will not be staying at these hotels again
friendly staff and good restaurant slightly difficult to find if used as we did, as a transit stop , quite difficult to get back on motorway, as turn offs are not well sign posted and at extremely busy junction in city centre not for feight hearted!
Nice room, clean the scent of previous smokers in the room
Quiet and comfortable with good food at reasonable prices. Easy access to city and close to facilities No
Gambas ordered at dinner not cooked properly. Staff apologised and adjusted the bill
Helpful staff, clean comfortable rooms. First class reasonable dinner. Excellent breakfast. Would definately use again if in area or travelling through,
Very friendly staff. Excellent comfort no computer for guests to use
Large bathroom Quiet hotel Matrasses; one had a pit in it. Extra bed (for kid) was very uncomfortable.
It was only 5mins away from the family we were visiting. Staff were very nice and helped where possible without crowding us in all areas of the hotel. Top marks here I feel!! Although aware that France 'shuts on a Sunday' For us it was still very strange to be at a hotel with no staff or services, especially as we appeared to be the only guests when we returned Sunday night.
well located and cheap price
Beds were very comfortable. Televisons very good. Breakfasts were better than in other places. There was no lift to make alot of noise. If you cannot use the stairs you need to specify a ground floor room. Despite the fact that the reception was supposed to shut at 21:30 the reception was locked up with no welcome at 21:00. The restaurant was shut for the annual staff holidays but there was no information on where to go for a meal - as the hotel was in the middle of a commercial area rather than in a town this was very unhelpful. So avoid from mid July to mid August.
Ticked all the boxes we had are 3 small dogs with us we had drove from the dordogne on route to calais and were very pleased when we saw the hotel the lady on reception was very helpfull the grounds around the hotel were lovely to walk with are dogs+dog bags of course able to make ourselves a cup of tea in the room great hotel and room spotless None
Lack of good places to eat in the area and hotel restaurant closed.
