Set back from the main road on, yes, a hillside. A few miles from restaurants, ski facilities and within a reasonable drive on Route 4 or 100 to Rutland, Ludlow, and Woodstock. Room had a separate sink and small frig, but no utensils or dishware. Room had unusual configuration. Bathroom area had no tub and shower was extremely small. Could not bend over. Toilet was in separate, basically, closet with no exhaust or fan. Breakfast was mini-muffins, mini-bagels, dry cereal, coffee, juice -- nothing special.
Nice cheap place to stay for Skiing.
Friendliness of the staff. Continental breakfast was disgusting, cereal was stale, cream cheese for bagels was outdated from may. Nothing was fresh or appetizing.
Nothing My flight on Feb 14, 2015 was cancelled due to a heavy snowstorm in the New England region. This hotel (Hillside Inn at Killington) is the only business that refused to refund five (prepaid) days of stay. They could have made me pay for one day, but they took all the money for the entire vacation I was planning to take with my son at Killington.
Stayed for New Year's Eve. Hotel room was huge with big, comfortable king size bed. Very clean room with refrigerator and nice shower. Walls were a little thin with guests making noise but it was New Year's Eve so it was to be expected. Perfect location close to everything.
The location was great. The staff was amazing. They were more than helpful and accommodating to all of our needs. They really went above and beyond even on simple requests for us. They were courteous and never once had a bad attitude no matter what time of day it was. Matthew and James were great in particular (be it checking us in at 3:30am or just making sure everything was going well as we were on our way out for the day). The hotel is also very open to suggestions and feedback to help improve the stay for everyone.
The staff was incredibly accomidating. The hotel.has a bike was station and allows guests to store their bikes to their rooms for safety purposes. The beds were very comfortable, breakfast was amazing, and the hot tub and common areas were great. For mountain bike guests the experience could be improved if there was a secure bike valet, that only staff had access. Guest would drop their bikes with a staff member and have their bikes retrieved by a staff member. This would keep the rooms cleaner and ensure the safety of riders bikes. This is done in other bike destinations like whistler.
Staff was excellent
Location and views Furnishings very scruffy. Car park rough. Reception barely polite. Bar staff poor. Overall disappointing stay.
We were wanting to visit Killington and arrived in mid-Septmber. The leaves had not changed yet but Fall was in the air and it was beautiful. The lodge was very nice with large rooms and spacious community areas. The hot tub was amazing holding over 20 guests with two fires nearby. There were not many guests so we had it to ourselves. They have a movie room and played recent releases each night at 8pm with popcorn. This must be an excellent place to stay during ski season.
We came to check the area out reay for ski season Breakfast, when we arrived down at 8.30am there was very little left to eat and no where to sit so we left with just a coffee
Awesome villa. Extremely clean. Maybe you should tell people the ski area is closed. People upstairs drunk and obnoxious. Too bad that we got up at 4 and did not worry about waking them....
Staff were friendly and cordial. The place was built for a ski resort but the resort closed so it is miles from area attractions. Bathroom was small. T.V. reception poor.
The kitchen area was clean and stocked with ample cookware. Went to open up couch for my kids to sleep in and pullout was covered in crumbs and whole crackers. Food in tavern was over priced, small portions and unpalatable. The 'breakfast buffet', which you have to pay for, was sparse And disappointing.
Excellent place to stay to visit Okemo and Killington General had no butter and only holiday spiced beer...during the three days I spent they did not replenish. The staff did not have or could not get permission to restock. Pass on apps at resteruant but do get main entrees ...bar was out of Jack Daniels??
Showed up at 4:15. Still had to wait another hour before I could enter my room. Check ins started at 3pm. Staffing in restaurant needed more employess took 2 hours total to dine.
Excellent room for price. WiFi works well in and out of the hotel. Bandwidth is good enough to video chat. Very scenic in the mountain get away. Good 8ft pool and running trail. No cell phone reception. Easy fix is to use WiFi to text using app.
Location was beautiful. Mountains right outside the windows. Would be great during winter as the ski slopes are right outside. Main building was under construction and closed. Was not aware of this before arrival. Restaurant and Arcade were in main building and therefore closed also. Had to travel off the mountain to town for any dining.
Super staff! Loved the room/suite and the wonderful area. Manager was extremely helpful with a room switch. Great experience that I will gladly repeat again in the future!

The location, the views and there was no cell service. They say the rooms have fireplaces, when in fact all they are is an electric insert into a converted gas fireplace. Hard to have a romantic get away with the wife with an electric fireplace.
The room attendant was geninuely kind and helpful during our stay. The checkout time was not clearly stated nor printed on premise. The day of our departure the front desk agent called the room regarding a billing issue, yet failed to realize that the error was caused on the hotels part. No apology was offered
The hotel was nice but too far from anything. Bedroom so small you have to go sideways to get to the other side. Lots of cold air coming threw windows. Pool was huge but so cold! Staff was very accommodating and everything was very clean. Breakfast for $7 was decent and offered a wide variety of foods. Didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked nice. Hopefully someone will be able to get the ski slopes up and running, that would be the key to a great resort.
Welcoming and comfortable.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was great for our needs. I felt like it was expensive for the time of year and accommodations. It was after the height of ski season and before summer rates.
I liked Steve, owner and his assistant. They were helpful at providing background information about the area, places to visit, very knowledgeable. The breakfast table and coffee were ideal. It is very close to Killington. Very quiet at night. Wifi was not the strongest but than we were not staying there to read our email or play games. There is plenty to do outside of the room and inn.
Staff was EXTREMELY pleasant and welcoming! VERY clean room and comfortable beds. It was very dated decor, bathrooms were small
The hotel staff was amazing the owners were extremely friendly helped with any questions I had about the area and provided one of best experiences iv had on vacation
Very homy. Staff very personable. Jacuzzi. Less than 10 minutes away from the mountain. My room REEKED of weed; fresh weed. Not that I hate weed or anything, just didn't want to experience it to that moment. I'm sure if I brought it to the staffs attention I would have gotten a different room though. Didn't want to cause any trouble.
It was a little small and only had a community refrigerator but still very nice place to stay
Parking and location Room didn't have air conditioning
Friendly staff, self-baked waffles included with breakfast. Easy to find, quiet. TV is up high facing the bed. Ideally lower and facing the table and chairs in the corner for those staying up late to watch.
The atmosphere was all about service and customer satisfaction. We were always greeted with kindness and concern that our needs were being met. Parking was perfect and the hotel layout was easy to navigate and was well marked. The food was excellent. It would have been nice to get a newly updated room, but our room was clean and pleasant just the same. I would have spent more time in the common room had the fire been burning more frequently.
My husband and I got married at Echo Lake Inn and we can't say enough wonderful things about it! As a courtesy the entire Inn was reserved for the weekend for us exclusively. The food, location, setting, service, and absolutely everything was beyond perfect! Our guests (and us too) were all treated like family, and we felt like celebrities! It was wonderful to have everyone together in once place. The front porch was the place to be- we spent more time there than anywhere else! Laurence, the Innkeeper, was so wonderful to us and helped me with absolutely everything, and Neil was the most attentive and wonderful man (always making sure I was happy and had whatever I needed or wanted). We were so in love with our Luxury King Suite that we booked an extra night! We will absolutely be going back to celebrate our anniversary, and I know my friends and family will be going back as they just fell in love with the Inn too.
The hotel staff were excellent as was the breakfast we were served. The room and bath were minimal, but overall adequate.
My husband and I were married at the Echo Lake Inn. From the first moment I started working with the Innkeeper Laurance and the wedding planner Ruxana I ran into NOT once single issue. Every request was met quickly and exceeded my expectation. The cost is very affordable, both the rooms and the wedding. The location, food, and staff are amazing and the environment is so welcoming you don't want to leave. My guests had nothing but wonderful complliments about the food, service and beauty of the wedding and staff. My wedding was completetly error free due to the attention to detail and professionalism at the Inn. Laurance made our day perfect and for that I will always be grateful. My husband and I have decided to return very frequently for dinners, weekend getaways and of course our anniversaries (and we live 20 minutes away)
Perfectly located less than one mile from Okemo and directly on the shuttle route. Michael, Irene, and Marlowe are very welcoming. My polite, quiet 8 year old son was very welcome and enjoyed himself. However, this is a quiet B&B and rambunctious children would be bored. Nothing. Liked it all.
Beautiful hotel with incredibly friendly staff willing to talk about great places to enjoy in the local area. Really authentic feel to the hotel. Community centered as microwave and refrigerator were in the main lobby. Beautiful woodwork and ATD :) Only downfall was the bed was a bit uncomfortable and lopsided.
The owners are clearly in love with the area and are very enthusiastic about sharing it. Very personable. Cute, cozy room.
Excellent facility....quite charming and luxurious!
Appearances can be deceiving. We booked their $* internet special. We saw the pictures of the mansion and thought that our accommodations would be similar in style. \n \nWhat we got was a 1/3 condo, 2 twin beds butted up to each other, 1/2 shower (large enough for a midget), maid service who only brought new towels, etc. You get the picture. \n \nWas up here for our anniversary, made dinner reservations only to be told busload of tourists were to be in at 6 pm and no one can be there at that time. We changed our plans and made dinner reservations at the Inn at Weathersfield. (BTW Great food, superb atmosphere) \n \nMeanwhile, the mansion's food was so-so. Not the best I had, nor the worst. \n \nBottle of champagne and chocolates was nice touch, but totally out of character for room quality. \n \nSo the question is would I stay back here in the condo...NO! \n \nThe mansion would be nice, except for the fact that there are nicer places to stay for the money. \n
We booked this hotel online 'special' and it was awful. The room was dirty, the common areas smelled terrible and the pools were small and crowded. To top it all off, the 'Pointe' where we stayed was really a motor lodge type motel - right on a main road. We did look at switching into a Castle room - they were somewhat better than the Pointe but still not what I expected from the website. We asked the front desk for information about nearby movies and they were NOT helpful - pointed us to a newspaper in the foyer that was from February .... shabby, depressing, not a good place for a romantic weekend.
I thought it was a delightful place. Good food, interesting accomodations in a lovely old home that has been well preserved. Care was given to maintaining the original architecture and charm. Food was good and staff was very attentive. Pricey, but that's the way it is with nice places. The absence of an elavator makes the need for a bellman important.

The hotel felt more like a New England inn, as opposed to a corporate American chain. That means everything. The 11:00 checkout as opposed to noon.

The hotel is conveniently located to Main Street offering many eating establishments within walking distance. The breakfast area has juice, coffee, cereal, pastry and waffles. The rooms are very outdated. Tube television, no desk and very dated décor.
Easy to find.Adorable VT town near the Weston Playhouse, Sam's Steakhouse, & our family in Cavendish & the Baptist Church Beds clean, comfy.Plenty pillows/big/fluffy The establishment did not charge us for the extra person. This was a lovely gesture. It was advertised in the playbill at the playhouse to have a continental breakfast....it does not. First thing we found was an empty Coke can between the beds (kinda makes you wonder how thorough housekeeping is)
The location is convenient. The free breakfast is a plus. It took a while for us to figure out the thermostat. In fact, we never really did figure it out but got heat to come on. Then it got pretty warm but I was afraid to turn the dial because I didn't want to turn off the heat.
Location, location, location! Very clean and comfortable, walking distance to several restaurants Exterior stairs to the room could be hazardous during snow or icy weather however hotel staff seems to do a very good job of keeping everything clear
the front desk person were very friendly and very helpful none
Location was great, easy walk to a couple of restaurants.
We were not expecting much given it was a motel not a hotel. However we were very pleasantly surprised. We had a decent room and the motel itself was off the main street so we didn't have street noise..
Nice clean room and fairly priced!
Location The hotel was not updated for the price paid. Bathroom needed paint job. Rooms looked the same as 5 years ago!!
Nice, clean, staff is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast here is something else, just simply amazing. And very close to Killington.
Connie at the front desk was a sweetheart. She couldn't do enough for us and was more than accommodating. The family room / game room was pretty cool and the huge open fireplace was quite nice. My friend Adam spent his day and night writing his book by it. I'd give them 10 out of 5 stars if I could
Friendly Staff, good location and great price. I really felt welcomed and that if I had any needs they would have been taken care of. Any dislikes I may write does not take away from the fact that this is a decent place to stay when you do not want to spend an arm and a leg for lodging. The motel had an old musty smell that I assumed came from years of moisture of guests returning from skiing. We had arrived in the summer, so I was sort of surprised at the odor. The elevator also sounds like it needs a tune up and my fiance and I decided the stairs were the best bet for our stay.
The hotel is a good deal for the price. We were up there for a 5K run and just needed a clean comfortable place to stay at a good rate and this place did just that. The best part were the managers. They were so nice and treated us like family.
nice facilities staff is not friendly
