Good facilities-lovely view over the Shannon Breakfast was cold. View from bedroom window-not nice-air conditioners
the staf were very friendly nd it was very central maybe the rooms wer slightly to hot at nite!!
Location & service were excellent
Enjoyed our weeksend very much, romms overlooking river was great. No
I liked location of hotel it being central to town and on river side Staff friendly and efficient. Room very comfortable. Food excellent. Queyside bar very nice Leaking tap in bathroom needs attention. Not a complaint
comfortable nice staff great breakfast
Convenience Teh food wasn't great
The bed and the breakfast. The iron and miniature Iron board for left handed people!!! Why bother at all fitting something in every room which is cheap and not very practical. Its a joke and one reason I'll think before booking a Raddison again! To get frustrated asking reception for an Iron so as I can iron a shirt is not on in 2009. When will hotels learn we do not all have T. shirts!!
The rooms, decor and view were gorgeous. Staff also were extremely helpful and polite. The room service food was totaly acceptable, but a little plain. I stayed in the Athlone Sheraton the weekend previously and ordered a similar chicken breast dish on room service. It was much more appetising due to the extra ingredients of proscuitto ham and mozarella cheese. However they were also 35 quid more expensive for the room!
Bar staff were really nice & Bar food was excellent
This hotel is very convenient and central for visiting Athlone. Great range of Shops, Pubs and restaurants nearby. Staff very friendly and helpful There was a disco in the hotel on the night I stayed but I did not hear any noise and slept well.
Charming receptionist who made the world seem a happier place by her welcome, chat and friendship. Ireland at its best!
Convenient location, late breakfast and comfortable room
Very nice comfortable room Car park is a bit of a challenge to get into
excellent location and value for money, very comfortable
they staff were very friendly. I have travelled in audit teams for 4 years of non stop hotel accommodation and I found them extremely friendly and helpful Just one tiny a little thing - the front door of the hotel was filthy - I know that the weather outside was bad bit - it was so dirty I was not sure if it was the front door or not. As it is a complete glass door it showed up badly. however, one indside I was
no one at reception when I came down at half7 to direct me to where breakfast was being served.
Hotel had a great location, not just in athlone, but easy to and from Dublin airport as well. Best shower I've ever used in any country including luxury hotels in America. Three shower heads coming from different angles and strong water pressure. Nice and friendly staff. Pub had good food, some of the best soup I've tasted all over Ireland. Very flexible with early check-in once a room was clean and available. I don't have a bad word about this place. We would stay again for definite!
The hotel was perfect for our requirements and everything was organised correctly.
I was happy with my room and breakfast was good too. No complaints.
i thought the hotel was fantastic value for money.it was dead centre in the middle of town and alot cheaper than other hotels further out. nothing
it was very clean and peaceful and i would stay again but i think in this economy maybe €100 per night of double room would be a good offer. Instead of €123 plus many hotels have the movies on tv watch as many on ur stay for €7.50 all films where €10 or €12 each maybe you should lower this price . just the price of films on ur movie program €12 each was bvery pricey most hotels have that service for €7.50 per stay and watch as many as you like.
Central location, opened in April 2008, retro interior design and very comfortable. Only dissapointment was staff did not know any of the local amenities.
Situation in Athlone Centre shopping centre, as it was raining! Everything about the hotel was new and fresh. Conservation policy, feather pillows, the sheets, fabulous bathroom, leisure centre with water jets was especially enjoyable.Very friendly, courteous and efficient staff.Ability to rent DVD.etc. Lack of a restaurant that served less than 4-course meal at night. A "comfort" quality lacking in the Harvest Cafe.Lift from Leisure suite was slow to come. Steam room not working, regrettably
Very modern and clean. The facilities like the pool and gym were excellent. The breakfast was really good too. Little attention to detail like having the mini bar stocked, larger towels, even robes etc was not available.
Very good location, very clean and lovely staff
Its central location and facilities no
the staff were nice... food very bad, place was cold, for the price i would say very poor.
The rooms were a very high standard. leisure facilities top class. Room service awful. Menu choice in resturant not great (food was fantastic) too much food delivered on each order.
Excellent hotel ,could not find anything wrong.Great front bar entertainment....Would highly recommend
Rooms are very clean and comfortable ,bathrooms nice and modern. Thought the fruit selection for breakfast was not great, looked like tinned fruit.
The food was very good and most of the staff were very friendly and courteous One of the receptionists was what I considered very offhand to a customer while I was checking in with the other lady. My check-in was very pleasant. I also did not like my room. I would consider when booking a 4 star hotel that all the rooms would be fitted out to a similar high quality. The bathroom in my room was very old and needs a good re-vamp. The sealant around the bath was gone brown
Efficient, pleasnt, service. Excellent food and service in the restaurant
the staff were helpfull the food was good It felt as though the hotel had been overbooked and we were found a room buried at the back of the hotel at the last minute.
The swimming pool I was working in Athlone at the time of our stay and was horrified to find that we had no water supply in our room on the first morning. Staff were very apologetic and did eventually fix problem but too late for me to take a shower! I think a reduction in our final bill might have been a good gesture but none was given!
Lakeside location, comfortable beds, free wired internet in rooms, free WiFi in public areas. Good bar. Pool. Good food. Disorganized breakfast. Had to ask for coffee and toast 3 times. Noisy showers in our and neighbouring rooms. Sounded like fog horns in the morning.
I just loveed this hotel. rooms very nice and beds very comfortable. I think Carvery in the bar is very over priced
Wedding we atended well arranged and food served efficently. Good breakfasts served till late. Attentive staff. Helpful reception. Room a bit cool (but there was snow outside and we did not ask for it to be increased). Wifi and mobile phone reception did not stretch to room.
We stayed at this hotel overnight while attending a wedding there. The staff were excellent, they could not do enough for us. The room was spotless. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
it came across as a working hotel (corporate) and not as relaxing as I thought a hotel on the shores of a lake would be, which is why i chose the location.
Location, facilities Parking, carvery food availablilty and service
Lovely hotel easy to find off the motorway, great buffet lunch very reasonable, great breakfast fantastic shower
room service menu, leisure facilities
This is the best value stay I have ever had in a hotel! Superb hotel for next to nothing. I will be using again. We had a small problem with the water as there is construction work going on nearby and the builders broke the waterline.
The staff were excellent, well trained and very very helpfu; It is a little far from town
friendly staff good food comfortable room homely bar and great liesure pool and spa every area of hotel was clean location
able to visit the spa the lift was out of order was the only negative point
size of bedroom, furniture and cleanliness food in restaurant
Staff very friendly. Food excellent and rooms comfortable. The throw on my bed was stained. I removed it and placed it on a chair for cleaning staff who ignored it. Otherwise my room was spotless.
the lightning was lovely and relaxing ate in restaurt asked for no dressing on salad came to me with dressing in the mean time my partner has his dinner ate n i stil hadnt mind, den came back n stil wrong but just ate it. the friday nit was a 21st our room was above the function room i had to ring down twice to find out wen the music would stop as we were away for quiet weekend as was my fiance birthday
noisy corriders at night the noise came through the door
Very high standard of room
the bed was so nice. music outside room door in the hallway and the bath water was yellow.
Staff friendly and helpful with nice choice for breakfast. Quiet location away from any nosy traffic.
Very relaxing and laid back. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very friendly. Bed comfortable. Booked in for for 2 B&B and one Dinner. We booked table in the afternoon for the restaraunt that evening. When we were dressed and ready to go, we found the restaurant closed. We were offered the meal in the Bar, but wanted to be in the restaurant. The receptionist booked us into a restaurant in town. Meal and Taxis cost €100 we got €40 off bill.
Friendly Staff. Really nice decor. Showers rock! Good food. Door on the bathroom was broken.
handy to town
Generally everything None
Calm relaxed atmosphere Entrance is too low key not obvious. Lobby has cold atmosphere no feeling
Great rooms, clean and quiet, staff very friendly.....breakfast room could to with some updating... On the down side the rooms are extremely warm had to open a window to allow some air in...no way to regulate temp in the room...
Sevice provided was just waht was needed, clean room, bar facilitrues, , and good breakfast options - no adverse issues at all really. Lighting in bedroom quitedim - no lights available to really brigthen the room up if one wanted to do some work/reading etc.
The smoking area/patio was just outside my room and it was too noisy and too smokey to sit out and enjoy the sunset.
The hotel is set in a beautiful place. It's so quiet and tranquil. Everything is so tastefully done. I really enjoyed the stay. we were attending a wedding at the glasson golf hotel and there were no rooms available there. The wineport was the closest hotel. It is quite expensive. It cost 170 euro for the night. I also priced a weekend away there at reception for a friday and saturday night I was quoted 245 euro per person which is pretty expensive. I would recommend the hotel but would caution people to check prices as they may be somewhat off putting.
lodge style was very nice on a very tranquil lake setting The hotel was doing upgrade repairs at the time, so painting and hammering and drilling during breakfast. this could have been timed for 10.30 onwards afterbreakfast or when there was no guests in the area. It was a little off putting to enjoy a breakfast overlooking a tranquil lake while 4 workers were busy 4 ft from our table.
The views over the water from both the restaurant and the bedrooms are utterly glorious and we were sorry we only had the one night there. The shape of the restaurant is rather long and thin but that cannot be changed and I suppose at least that maintains the wonderful prospects.
The staff were absolutely excellent -- kind, courteous, discreet -- the front desk staff, the restaurant staff, the cleaning staff -- we encountered & were taken care of by all of them. We also had a half bottle of wine from the mini bar, and were impressed by the relatively reasonable price and absolutely lovely selection. In the latter respect, the place absolutely lives up to its name. I know it's a gourmet restaurant and all, but I wasn't terribly impressed with the entrees. Our experience in the restaurant the first night was ok -- our table seemed like the 'cheap seats' and was a bit cold. The prices didn't seem to account for the passing of the Celtic Tiger. I much more enjoyed sitting in the room the second night with a selection of the starters ordered from room service. The food was more interesting, the venue more enjoyable, and the prices a bit better!
It was our anniversary and the Wineport were so kind to upgrade us and make us feel very welcome. They even signed our dessert plates with happy anniversary, it was such a lovely touch. I will be returning! No
The quality of the bedroom and bathroom and products used. No charge for breakfast in room. Flexibility about breakfast time in restaurant. Open fire in lounge. Good food Difficult to know where the entrance was on arrival. I did not like the products stand at the entrance before you reach reception and i did not like the fact that you had to walk through the bar coming and going from your bedroom. Mostly i did not like the price for what was on offer.
It was one of the most relaxing breaks we have ever had The staff were on hand but not in your face and nothing was too much trouble for them.
LOcation is out of this world- spa is first class - food excellant and staff helpful and friendly Housekeeping not great - our beds were just pulled up on 2nd day - not shook out -sheets creased and tissue left under pillow need to be addressed as a priority
Very large and comfortable room with a nice view. Challenging golf course in good condition
The staff were friendly and helpful. We felt that they genuinely wanted to make us enjoy our stay. The beds were so comfortable that we slept until 10.10 a.m.. We had just been at an older hotel in the area where the showers were lukewarm. It was a joy to get into the shower at Glasson!
I'm not a golfer, this hotel was a stop over. It was a very comfortable stay, meal was delicious, staff couldnt have been more pleasant & helpful, spacious hotel, picture surroundings & quite night's sleep. It was a very relaxing & enjoyable stay
excellant location,excellant views of lough ree,friendly staff,lovely food,great golf,owners always helpful
helpful & friendly staff. room as asked for, non smoking, big bed, quiet etc and great value for money
Quiet, relaxing getaway with adequate water sports and golf. Beautiful views and ideallic countryside. Very helpful staff
Golf There was some mix up about the bookings, we had checked in but got calls on mobiles asking if we were checking in.
The room was very spacious and the bed was the best we slept in throughout our holiday in Ireland. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the golf course & view of the lake can be enjoyed even if not playing golf.
The food was very disappointing...eat in the local village!
Exceptionally gratious and helpful staff. Atmosphere in hotel and general ambience contributed to a relaxed stay. I enjoyed walks esp to water - Lough Ree. No.
Everything. Beautiful location, setting and hotel!
Fast and efficient service Not near any of the main shopping areas i.e none within walking distance
Very large spacious room. Lovely breakfast. Excellent value for money.
The Staff at Reception were very friendly and helpful, The Hotel Bar was really nice and big, The Rooms were big and comfortable and clean, Hotel all round was perfect and def recommond it and def stay there again. Car Park was free and safe. Hotel was a taxi from the main town Athlone, but it did'nt cost that much in a taxi so that did'nt ruin our stay, we enjoyed our Stay.
Cheap and cheerful. Good value short stay hotel
I thought the staff were very friendly, room was lovely, clean warm and cosy. And the breakfast was very tasty. Great value for money. I hardly got any sleep, all night there was people going in and out of their room and yelling across the corridor and chatting in the corridor, and u could hear everything in the room. I woke up every hour at least.
It was quiet. Too far from town
I was happy with this hotel and service It was about 3 miles out of town center
Hotel conveniently located. Room config good for a family. Food menu had a number of healthy options and friendly staff throughout. Breakfast was ok, but food selection was nothing brilliant, not as good as Premiere Inn for example which would be a fair comparison. Room was dirty though and should have been properly cleaned and it would put me off booking again. Bed linen was clean.
staff, rooms, location, price there were alot of children on our floor, making quiet alot of noise early the following morning
On top of an authentic Irish Pub, has five guestrooms, two rooms on 2nd floor three on the 3rd. We spent new years eve of 2015 here, there was no noise from the Pub at all. Actually not much noise even from the street below. Location is directly across the Guarda (Police) station. There are other restaurants nearby, but we only ate at the Pub below. Which is reasonably priced. The staff was nice and friendly. Our room had 3 single beds, the room was clean. Overall a nice experience. It wasn't a negative for us but the lack of elevator might be an issue for some. Hot water seemed to be an issue, and for a longer stay the bathroom is tight.
