Friendly staff, location of the hotel, stylish big room with bathroom and interesting forniture, windows view and suprisingly quiet place (the hotel was in the centre of Boticas) Limited knowledge of staff English
Town in a mountain location. Only common language was French from the Spanish owner to the English guest - so some fun. Gave free use of his internet. Encouraged us to use his personal garage & facilities to wash / store our soft top car as hotel uses public car parking. Disappointed to find restaurant at hotel promising local specialities was closed. Restaurant within walking distance made up for this with friendliness in hand signals and generosity in nightcaps.
worm host, worm place. The feeling was like a family..
Staff were like family and they treated us as such. The casa was restored to perfection. We originally thought of the Casa as just a place to sleep. But it turned out to be one of the highlights of our entire holiday.
Comfortable, clean and welcoming. Good buffet breakfast with homemade produce. Dinner not available but good-value restaurant nearby.
the room had no airconditioning. Since it was 34 degrees that was a big problem. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room faced a very noisy street. Dogs barking kept us awake. The reception tried to be helpful but no Engiish was spoken. Noise, uncomfortable bed.Problem of communication
The friendliness and the hospitaity of the owners it was a real pleasure to meet and have breakfast with Portugese people, always as ever very friendly. Very minor, off site car parking
A quiet hotel, friendly family owners. Excellent breakfast, easy internet log-on. Good views. Small village. We enjoyed it for our overnight stay.
This very small, family-owned and run hotel in the charming little town (pop. 1250) of Boticas is a real gem. Anyone who likes making new friends will absolutely love this place. The owners, José Moura and his wife Maria, are two of the most pleasant and likeable people I've ever met. They welcomed us into their home as if we were their best friends. They have lovingly enlarged and restored their 300-year-old family home to make it into a real gem of a hotel. The rooms are large and elegantly decorated. The town of Boticas is peaceful, quiet and totally relaxing. I hated having to leave.
The hotel staff was really nice, the room was big and the breakfast was wonderful. No parking
