Pros: Mary is a wonderful host. We indicated we would arrive between 4-5pm but rang Mary at 7.30pm to say we had been held up. She had waited for us and was relieved that we were ok and then ensured there would be a family member available to meet and greet us as she had to go out. We enjoyed the full Irish breakfast provided as well as cereal and toast. Mary gave us local knowledge which was an added bonus. We would definitely stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mary gave us tea, coffee and cake when we arrived after a long drive. She suggested places to see and where to find the music scene where my husband could play his accordion. The Irish breakfast was so enormous that we didn’t need lunch. We had the family room which was large and very comfortable with a tv, arm chairs, table, kettle and tea and coffee. The house is on a quiet road out of Cong, surrounded by fields but within easy walking distance of the Quiet Man tourist spots.
Cons: Everything was good.

Pros: Well situated for walking and quiet. Just around the corner from a lovely gallery owned by Susan and Robert Devereux, the Hungry Monk. A few of Robert’s pen and inks hang in the breakfast room at Ryan’s. Daughter-in-law (?) of owner, Martha, couldn’t have been more helpful.

We like fresh scones and fruit omelette so much. It’s easy access to Galway city center by 10 minutes drive. We’re so happy there.

Our bed was quite comfortable and the shower temperature and water pressure were fantastic. Our rooms were cleaned every day and very relaxing to come back to after a long day of traveling and exploring. The breakfast is above and beyond and absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough. We can't wait to come back!!
Cons: It is all hardwood floors so you can hear the other guests walking around in the AM which can be a bit noisy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed. Wonderful host
Cons: Nothing. Brilliant value
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Off all the places we stayed at during our 16 day Irish trip, this was our favorite bed and breakfast. Here we ate the best breakfast of any of the places we stayed. The scones are easily six stars. Ann and Michael were our favorite hosts. The location was easy to navigate to, the property was lovely, both inside and outside. The room was well appointed, with items that none of the other bed and breakfast we stayed in provided. The WiFi was excellent. Everything was clean. Ann and Michael were lovely hosts, answering all the questions tourists have. Michael even provided tech support.
Cons: The only way to improve our stay would have been if we had taken even more scones with us when we left. Unfortunately the most of the scones didn’t survive the breakfast table.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was great with a variety of choices. We are very satisfied.

Pros: The host is simply awesome. She warmly welcomed us with tea and coffee and she gave us a choice between continental and full Irish breakfast. We chose the latter and it was really big and delicious. The room with a view of the sea had every possible comfort and the en-suite bathroom was perfect. The host also recommended us a very nice restaurant which was just 10 minutes walk from there.
Cons: It is quite far from Galway city centre (you need to go there by car) and it is not cheap, but the fact is that accommodations in Galway are all very expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was delightful and very accommodating
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bedding and linens were the best of all the b & b’s we stayed at while in Ireland. No other b & b had quality terry robes as did the Claremount. We stayed at 3 others before the Claremount. The room was very clean and it was quiet at night. Our host, Anna, was so welcoming, kind, attentive to our needs. This b & b deserves a 5 star rating.
Cons: We liked everything. There are no negatives to this b & b.
7.1 Good
Pros: Friendly people
Cons: Very small bathroom. No change of bed sheets for three nights.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very warm welcome and attentive host. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast (made to order) was delicious - fresh homemade bread, pancakes and scones!
Cons: The B&B is close to a very busy road - our rooms were on the garden side so fortunately not too noisy. Breakfast is served very early: from 7.30 to 9am contrary to what is indicated on the site. We arrived late and were informed that the 9am slot had been taken but our host kindly made an exception for our party.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess Anna and hubby Steven are very warm and inviting. We asked about local restaurants and we took Anna up on her suggestions- one night seafood another night pizza and a delicious salad.

Pros: The whole stay was excellent from start to finish
Cons: The fact that you could not go into the hotel for a drink or look around or to book something. You had to book something that you had not seen or could rate prior to being allowed into the hotel. Felt like a second class citizen at the door when I was refused entry to even look around !!!
6.3 Good
Pros: The location
Cons: Unfortunately we arrived at 4pm and had to put up with drilling until 6pm. We had a long journey and really need rest. We used the bicycles available one was ok but the other had no rear brakes and gears were not working. The main reason for our stay was to take the boat ride which when we got to Ferry we were told it was broken. The shower in the bathroom looks like it hasn’t been cleaned or descaled in months. I was rather disappointed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The irish hospitality was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble . The locatation at Ashford lodge was wonderful. Would like to say that the breakfast buffet was excellent and catered for everyones needs.
Cons: We found that the menu was a bit lacking In variation of choice of meals. Lack of garnish and side salads with things like burger to make the plate look more colourful and appetising. Also not a lot of vegetarian choice such as vegetable chilli and rice or lasagna with salad and garlic bread. Jacket potatoes with various fillings. All quick and easy meals to prepare. But sadly lacking on your menu. Fair to say that the meals we had were nicely cooked .And staff were very helpful and curtious.

Pros: Service was outstanding. Very clean. Comfortable.
Cons: No dislikes
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very kind and helpful. They assisted with information and maps, and the car park staff were courteous and helpful. Being steps from Eyre Square, the hotel was close enough for access to things but distant enough to be quiet and comfortable. There is a wealth of incredible antiques in this hotel, but they are curiously and sometimes a bit haphazardly located, as if a relative down-sized and someone needed to find a place for them! But they are lovely, and might provide you with a bit of a treasure-hunt to find them!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Courteous staff. Comfortable room and beds.
Cons: Bar staff were not attentive

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Although the street it is on is not particularly salubrious, the hotel itself is old-world luxury, Our room was wonderful - spacious and clean, with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent, and all the staff really friendly and helpful. It is only a short walk to the top of the main street.
Cons: The car park is hard to find - and VERY tight to get into, although they have a dedicated porter on hand to help with this. Although its location was mentioned on my acknowledgement email, this information could have been repeated, (preferably in bold and red!) on the one closer to our actual stay. Value for money was not great, compared to our similar hotel in Cork, but this might be to do with Galway prices.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ambiance of main floor. Excellent bell, restaurant and bar staff.
Cons: Only real issue was finding parking despite information provided.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, convenient, great restaurant and room was cozy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was great and the bed was comfy.
Cons: We tried to book an extra night but the price skyrocketed so we were forced to spend one night in a nearby hotel.

Pros: This was a stunning hotel in a beautiful location. It was more than I was expecting and worth every extra cent!
Cons: The weather. But I can’t blame the hotel for that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Luxury, comfort, friendliness, beauty. Just a couple words that come to mind about this majestic place. Best place we stayed during our entire Ireland tour and HIGHLY recommend it to everyone.
1.0 Poor
Pros: There is so much to love about the Glenlo Abbey - the property is beautiful. The structure & design is really lovely. The bellman & the concierge are dressed in formal Irish/hotel attire - wonderful detail. The people who work at the Abbey are supremely kind. The breakfast is superb - truly superb. The views are spectacular. The rooms are spacious & lovely (we had a view of the golf course & the water behind it).
Cons: During our stay, the hotel was undergoing extensive & VERY LOUD construction. That construction was taking place on the other side of the wall of our room. Think jackhammer noise directly on the other side of your room. We took it in stride initially & went down to the beautiful sitting room where the fireplace was lit & we could order a beer. In the sitting room, several men were "installing a speaker" which required removal of a good portion of the ceiling - wires, boards, ladders & a LOT of noise intermittently throughout the time we spent there. Again, we took it in stride & enjoyed our Carlsbergs. We read & ignored the noise considering it would be temporary & if it became too much, we could just go back to the room to get away from the noise. Not the case - when we had reached our noise threshold there, we tried to go back to the room. The construction noise had gotten louder. (I have video) At that point, we asked the staff. The front desk said the construction would end at 6pm. I asked how early it would start the next morning (we were incredibly tired & needed the rest desperately). They said it wouldn't begin any earlier than 10am and assured me they were "sorting it out". Such good news-we could sleep in. So we waited it out in the sitting room - luckily the speaker got fully installed & the room was back in order after about 90 or so minutes of work & noise downstairs. After 6:30pm, the workers on the other side of our room were done for the day. We enjoyed dinner in the cellar restaurant that night. Good food, service & atmosphere. That night we set our alarms for a late morning (as late as possible to still enjoy the breakfast). Sure enough, 7:20am came around & the work began. LOUD. Jackhammer level with a combination of a T-Rex approaching our room. We couldn't leave the hotel fast enough. The staff comped our evening meal.

Pros: Great breakfast, large and convenient room, really nice staff, sitting room with free coffee machine, generally feels like an hotel

Pros: The beauty and Peace.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: There was no breakfast available!
Cons: Would have appreciated a breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying in the Hotel during Storm Lorenzo was a good alternative, because of our comfortabel, clean and warm room, where we could watch TV and take a warm bath. We had a wonderful Breakfest and a comfortable and clean room. Everything was perfect!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our room was spacious enough to allow relaxation and to do stretches on the carpeted floor. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. Breakfast was really good, with choice of cereals and yoghurts, hot breakfast and a variety of cakes. The location is lovely and convenient to Galway city and surrounds if you have a car.
Cons: We could hear other guests talking and closing doors as they came in at night and when going downstairs in the morning. Lights were shining from a house behind (seemingly attached to Atlantic Lodge) and we could see them shining through the curtains all night and another light from a place next door came very brightly through the bathroom window.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Great breakfast! Great Quality stay
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was spotless, airy and spacious. Bed linen white, crisp, ironed pillowcases and sheets. Large and shiny white bathroom with sufficient toiletries. Sms message was sent how to get into the house in the event the owners were unavailable and the directions how to enter the house were straightforward. Parking free and available in front of the house or on the street.
Cons: Complete lack of personal touch. Not sure if this is the usual practice, or one off case. The Sms advised us how to retrieve the key as the owners might be out for our arrival, but at the end the proprietors had not showed up at all. It would have been nice to be able to have some human contact at the place, even if to ask for some local recommendations. An old fashioned map of Galway would also be a welcomed addition. Very sugary breakfast, sugar laden cakes and pastries in large selection, cereals, pancakes, Tesco brand yoghurts. No fresh fruit, tinned fruit only.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were happy with quiet location and the view from our room. It was clean, friendly and communication was most efficient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious with full amenities. Breakfast was outstanding - the cook is attentive and extremely capable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great Breakfast and lovely location if you wish a quite place to relax not too far from Galway night life :)

7.1 Good
Pros: Decor interesting and good looking. Playful furnishings. Attractive chairs and wallpaper in rooms. Bathroom very clean and modern. Shower was strong and tile very clever. Bed and linens very comfortable. Room was quiet. Beautiful wood Floor. Bar inviting with lively lighting.
7.9 Good
Pros: Reception Staff excellent on our arrival. We were offered a fruit juice while we were checking in which was welcome. Our room was in a quiet area of the Hotel which I had requested. Excellent Comfy bed and a nice big room which also had a safe and a fridge.
Cons: We were disappointed with Breakfast. I had requested to substitute the cheese in my omelette with tomato but got the tomato on the side. My husband had the full fry-up and was also disappointed with his eggs being hard on the edges and overall not a good breakfast. We had a power cut on Saturday evening for well over an hour and a half and as this Hotel had not a Generator we were left in semi darkness for this time. The power came on again at 6.30pm. I thought the Hotel would have taken on this inconvenience and given us some sort of compensation eg a Lunch Voucher. The rate for this Hotel of €190 B/B for 2 people is totally overpriced and certainly would not pay this rate for this Hotel again.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Bar in the room. Food was good.
Cons: Low seating for evening meal uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved every second. Food amazing. Staff amaxing. Room amazing. A pleasure from start to finish!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: “West” Restaurant is great. We dined there twice.
Cons: Terrible hotel — noisy, most rooms look over the parking lot, sewer smell in the bathroom and hallway, ugly mismatched chairs in the bedroom, room not made up until late afternoon. The place has supposedly won awards, but I have no idea why. Staff confused about everything and could not even get our bill correct on checkout.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff especially the bar staff were very attentive and on the ball. Nice atmosphere.
Cons: The main course haddock and chips was quite greasy with an odd smell from the batter. Think the cooking oil probably needs changing . The bed mattress was quite thin and not that comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From start to finish 5 star treatment, from staff to the room and the food excellent. Bakery next door gorgeous. I could have brought my little dog as they are a dog friendly hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The reception staff were amazing - super friendly and helpful and they really make the place. The bar staff were great (especially Dylan), really friendly and attentive.
Cons: The only downside is that there is no common quiet space to relax and unwind - there is reception, bar and restaurant but no lounge per se. Breakfast was a bit of a miss with the staff not staying on top of the various tables and orders - after being asked to seat ourselves we were then left waiting for some service and ended up having to get one of the staff's attention. This happened on a couple of mornings.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Twelve Hotel is extremely stylish, comfortable, and has a lively bar with a great selection of beers, wines, and drinks. We didn't eat in the restaurant but heard it was superb. The breakfasts were excellent. There was covered parking that was adjacent to the hotel and easy to access.
Cons: The Hotel is about a 15 minute drive from downtown Galway. In some ways, that was a plus as it got you away from the traffic and the crowds, but we did have to drive or take a taxi to/from dinner and the evening's entertainment.
