Unik design, tasteful room and bathroom. Good breakfast, free internet. Cellphone could not be used inside the hotel
The hotel is beautiful, very well located and comfortable.
The hotel has an excellent location in a very old palace in the best part of Bergamos old town. Rooms are new and tastefully decorated. A pleasure to spend the night in such surroundings
What I like most is that we got stuck in the elevator there. A lot.
Nice decorated and friendly personnel
L liked the location of the hotel as it was right at the heart of the old town of Bergamo. I thought the breakfast was vastly overpriced and we had a street light shining directly into our bedroom with no heavy curtains to exclude it.
Wonderful location in the old town; large lovely modern bathroom; comfort, convenience and charm. Unfortunately, at check-out, the hotel's credit card connection was 'down' and we had a last-minute raid on the cash machine. As we were told the problem had been on-going for two days, a note to us the night before might have made check-out simpler.
The location was perfect. Room was clean and well appointed. Price was reasonable. 10:30 check out especially when the hotel is not very busy seems early.
the hotel was well located, had close car parking both free and paid, access to internet at no cost,a good breakfast and a good restaurant. no
The perfect central location in the old town. The hotel is small och run by its owner. Nice and clean, good standard and comfort.
the location was great for city alta, right in the thick off all the action, with the best restaurants and bars within a stones throw trip advisor
Central to Citta Alta with easy access to Milan with good public transport Although it was stated there to be tea/coffee making facilities in the room, this was just a kettle with 3 tea bags, no milk or coffee. Had we known this we would have taken provisions with us.When we asked for more we were given 2 more tea bags but the gentleman was not very friendly.
The location in town was fabulous, views of the mountains from the terrace, quirky layout, and faboulus bathroom. There was always a smell of cooking when you came in, usually fish!
Nobody from the Staff speaks English fluently, Communications are therefore difficult. Got assigned a car park by the Hotel (with a large sign behind the windshield) yet still got a ticket for 74 Euros by local police. When asking at the hotel for assistance on the subject I received a shrug and the recommendation to throw the ticket away; followed by the promise that they will straighten it out with the police next week. Lets wait and see if hear from the Italian Authorities with a hefty fine in the future.
Great location in lovely setting-- small hotel- nice room- with lovely bathroom. Great triple glazing when closed cannot hear church bells which are otherwise lovely to hear. If staying a few nights a fridge would be useful, and a full length mirror.
**location, ease to check in and check out, they provided parking at first come first serve and the restaurant below was very good. you pay for what you get. is this hotel top notch, no, but it does fill a need for an overnight stay or 2 nights. i can not say anything bad about it. it works on a 7/10, especially if budget is a concern than it's perfectly quaint.
Wonderful little hotel with an extraordinary polite and personal service.
a wonderfull accommodation managed by a lovely family ... nothing to complain
Was very noisy as on corner of two streets. Expensive. No staff on premises.
We just returned from an incredible vist to Italy. One of the more memorable stays was in Bergamo, at the B&B Alba Chiara. It's a quaint/charming Bed &Breakfast in the upper city. The room was spacious as we were traveling with our two adult children. The owners are a delightful couple, Angela and Alfonso. Angela speaks excellent english and was very helpful with any questions we had, while Alfonso creates the most beautiful and delicious Italian breakfasts. The B&B is right in the middle of town overlooking a main street, with shops all around. We took Angela's recommendations for good food, and were not disappointed. One excellent recommendation was Columbina's- a modest walk from our room- the food and service were outstanding. We ate on the patio overlooking the city lights of the lower city. We highly recommend B&B Alba, and will stay the next time we visit Bergamo.
Nice old building, a bit of charm. It is an old 3 bedroom apartment with ensuites. The staff were very accomodating about everything. Breakfast was nice. The shower handle wouldn't stay up, and I had to tie it with a string. It was a funny ensuite built into an old hallway. The street was noisy, but fine when the windows were closed.
What a kindness! The owner and his wife were very very friendly! Hospitality number 1. Pleasant room and bathroom. A lovely old house but very comfortable. May be the noise of 'the evening stars' outside.
The room was delightful with several personal touches (such as fresh flowers) and the owners were charming. The location in the centre of the old town was great.
Fantastic host! Beautiful, spacious rooms and large bathroom with painted ceilings in the bedroom and lovely decor. Situated in the heart of the old village. Fabulous stay! Breakfast the best we have had on our travels! Parking is a short distance from the guesthouse but the host takes you to the location and organizes for the appropriate permit so that the parking is free.
Very charming hosts, extremely helpful. Great location in a beautiful town. Parking difficult.
Very cozy place to stay, with the atmosphere of a medieval inn. The staff was friendly and helpful (good coffee and comfortable transfer to the airport). P.S. Good pizza across the street :)
Excellent friendly service, owner even ran us to station in morning.Lovely old house in great location.Room and bathroom spotlessly clean.Nice to have breakfast in the garden.Great value.
I can only strongly recommend this B&B, not only for it's ideal situation in the centre of gorgeous old Bergamo, but also for the kindness of it's host, Enrica, who is trully devoted to her guest and makes everything so that everybody feels comfortable and at home. Also, the B&B is located in a very charming old house and the spacious rooms have been very nicely renovated. An ideal place to enjoy old Bergamo and italian hospitality.
Manager was extremely friendly, efficient, and always concerned and helpful of our wellbeing. Noisy car and truck traffic in front of the building.
It seemed expensive compared to other places we stayed in Italy.
Location was good and ideal for sightseeing in the Citta Alta. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Good service re. airport pick up. I felt that the breakfast room was rather basic and that the bedroom could have benifited from some form of wall decorations. i.e. pictures
Close to centre of Bergamo, pleasant staff and at a reasonable cost in an expensive area. The room was clean and comfortable. Next to a main entry into the town and this could be noisy during the summer with open windows. No facility to pay by credit card was available.
Very appreciative of arrangements to be met at the airport. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Lovely room. Delightful courtyard setting for breakfast.
A great location in the old city with easy access by funicular and bus to the train station. We arranged to be picked up at the airport by the owner - this was very helpful since we were arriving late in the evening. The B and B provides a very substantial breakfast.
Hotel was better that we expected. We had 2 bedrooms apart with exit to garden. Very clean and very friendly. Easy to find as Old Bergamo is very small. Would recommend to people who want to have romantic holiday far from big cities crowd. Thank you to hotel owner Enrica. She was very very helpful.
