the rooms, the location, the beer garden The bar
Exellent quality, spacious, recently decorated rooms. Luxury facilities, Very pleasant terrace overlooking the river for a drink and food. Pleasant, helpful staff. Peaceful village close by that provides alternatives for eat & drinks if you want. I advise you to do your best to get a room on the river side of the hotel. The other side overlooks a road. There is no noise because of good insulation, but of course it is less attactive as a view.
Nice environment along the Mosel River and nearby vinyards. Nice and confortable room. The breakfast (that was included in the price) was excellent. We booked a room for 2 adults and one child. When we arrived at the hotel the reception told us not having received the information about the child. As a result we got another room (which was a nice room) but not the one we initially booked.
The situation room airconditioning was not very efficient
Friendly staff in hotel, large rooms and all in all a lot of space everywhere. Spa had no pool nor jacuzzi this is rare. Hotel should also mention that kids are not allowed to enter spa area. My family didn't visit there at all. Restaurant with dinner and service was not on same level as hotel rooms
Its position on the Mosel A little soulless. Hygiene in the breakfast room was a concern on one day with uncovered cheese and meat attracting flies.
All the staff was very kind and most helpfull. The food was very good and the location on the bank of Mosel beautifull. No nothing.
Friendly Staff. Great location and beautifully decorated hotel. menus only in German.
excellent surroundings and very relaxing no wi fi access after repeated attempts and asking for assisitance from reception no problems at other hoterls
Very well located on the Mosel river banks, good base to explore the wine region.Rooms have been beautifully refurbished to very high standard. Plenty of car parking. Food of a good standard, especially the breakfast buffet. A dinner menu in English was not available and dining room staff on duty in the evening spoke very little English. Breakfast staff did however speak good english.
This has all the ingredients of a top class luxury hotel. The staff (mostly young girls) were pleasant and professional. Breakfasts (with Sekt) and bar meals were also very good. The slight drawbacks mentioned below were therefore all the more frustrating. There seemed to be no "joined-up" management, and no-one really in overall charge. On two occasions we booked at reception for meals but the restaurant did not get the booking. The gourmet restaurant also did not allow guests to eat indoors in the evening (away from insects), so we were forced to eat in the bar, and on another evening we were told we could not eat anywhere in the hotel, and had to find a meal elsewhere. The junior suite we booked was very nice, but surprisingly did not include a bath but only a shower, and being at the dormer level with no airconditioning it was also uncomfortably hot. This hotel has a lot going for it, but seems to need a shake-up to reach true Relais et Chateaux standard.
Excellent service and very nice and beautiful hotel. Many free extras such as borrowing a Porche for free and free entrance to beautiful spa area. The breakfast buffet and the restaurant were excellent.
Fantastic lady in red jacket on reception, very helpful. Lovely hotel The staff on the bar for the outside garden needed to be quicker and needed more training
The Restaurant and the charactere of the building The room had thin wall which means that you clearly hear what'a happening in the next room! However I slept well.
Friendly competent staff. Comfortable, spacious room. Excellent restaurant.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Service very good. Fantastic hotel if you are looking for a romantic and relaxing holiday away from home. Web-site advised golf was 3km away however the closest course was half an hour drive to Trier.
This hotel was by far the best one i have ever stayed in!!! The stay began with a receptional greeting that was superb. From there the experience just got better. The Mosel river was a 2-3 minute walk away and the dining was of top chef status...very gourmet. Looking for a great getaway for Valentines day or an anniversary...you have got to go here!!
The spa was lovely although it didn't have a pool. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel's location was a little too remote for us. Mulheim is a small village with very little in it.
Location, restaurants and rooms Lack of AC and minibar
Quality of breakfast and diner was excellent No bar/frigerator in the room
Location could not be better - Right in Frankfurt Hahn-Airport. Clean, efficient, warm and great breakfast.
The hotel's location right in front of the airport terminal makes it ideal for passengers catching an early morning flight from Hahn.
Access to aitport. We missed the last bus from Frankfurt main station (10pm) and had to catch a taxi.
Minimal necessities, shower barely had water coming out, convenient location Shower, lack of amenities
New hotel located just in front of the Frankfurt Hahn airport and with a very good price-quality ratio.
Free web few intarnational tv chanels
service attitude Telephone was not really usable--or at least no one seemed to know how to use it!
The location is just awesome - it´s literally in front of the airport. If your morning flight is delayed you can conveniently wait in your room as we did. Besides the price is good also!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Their mascot was a very cute mutt of a dog. It was bare basics, no soap in bathroom, no hairdryer, no frills but very clean. Also no restaurant even though it advertised as having one.
Ok hotel just across the airport. rooms really minimum size Size of room and only seating for one
Room fine, however noisy early in the morning with the sound of showers etc probably the fabric of the wall construction
good hotel,romantic atmosphere
The ultimate hotel hideaway! Trapped in a time warp somewhere on the Mosel. You expect Baron von Richtoven or Hercule Poirot to walk into the restaurant at any moment. Even the toilets are like an art gallery. Food excellent. Our room was designated as in the main body of the hotel but was actually in an attached part over the public toilets.
Fab big room & spotlessly clean. Very nice staff. Over excessive selling of products in the beauty spa....very of putting. Would have used it again except for that.
Very good service. Food and service in dinning room was outstanding
The service very hospitable
We had a beautiful junior suite. The breakfast is excellent and so is the food and service in the restaurant.
We loved the view over Mosel and watching at a beautiful castle wile eating breakfast. Excellent food and restaurant and lovely Spa. We thought the city where a bit boring, everything was closed and did not know oct/nov. was off season.
Great location near the wine festival
Only stayed one night but was very comfortable and river views were lovely. Staff helpful would stay here again. Appartment very spacious. Not quite sure our dog was welcome seemed to be a lot of restrictions. Was not able to book a table to eat at hotel which was a shame.
The greeting on arrival was very welcoming and genuine. The food and service was superb. Stunning art deco hotel.
We stayed in a suite, downstairs was a kitchen, dining and living area with a balcony overlooking the Mosel river, upstairs a large bedroom. The room was very clean and the hotel itself was remarkable with local paintings on the walls. Very nice. Hopefully we get to go to Traben-Trarbach again just so we can stay at that hotel. Highly recommended. (We had to pay a little more to upgrade to the suite)
we liked the room, the terrace and the wine pub. And it was also in a place that you could walk to other restaurants and the little village.
Very helpful staff with fabulous views from river side, very romantic.
Hotel staff was very helpful. The hotel is located in an excellent area. The food was not what we expected. We thought they would have hot foods as well as more variety.
excellent location, excellent rooms and service. restaurant pricey
The room was spacious, the kitchenette a nice touch for when we didn't want to eat out. The staff was very friendly and professional. The restaurant food is incredible. The scenic location, directly on the Mosel and across from the Ruin Grevenburg is beautiful even in the winter. It is also a short walk to the train station. The bathrooms are a bit on the small side for a four star but typically bathrooms in German hotels aren't very large.
Location, atmosphere, car parking Restaurant and bar expensive
Good location close to Mosel River. Room is comfortable. Tasting at thier winery was quite impressive. All staff are very kind and friendly. But some of them are not fluent in English.
The wonderful view, quiet peaceful locatopn, very large room, staff helpful, good food The hot food at breakfast could do with some attention.
Very pleasant staff, wonderful location, breakfast very nice.
The location was perfect for a trip up the Mosel valley and the hotel was excellent. Just wish we had more time on the trip to linger.
peaceful and very beautiful location, wonderful, big rooms no
The location was great. Being almost of the river with picturesque villages surrounding it The owner was not very friendly and breakdowns in service (TV and Internet) were not attended to before we left.
very large and comfortaable room
The Manager was very friendly and cheerful. The surroundings are stunning as is the building. Could do with a few signposts around the place directing us where to go - we went to a few places before finally finding Reception via the back door. Although we had been told where to go for breakfast, again, we had to ask how to access it. Just a few clear signposts would have helped. Other than that, couldn't fault it and would highly recommend it and come back again.
Charming little property with large rooms. Nice breakfast spread. No kettle in room but provided on request. Would stay here again if returning to area. Internet access, and a self-serve laundry would be nice. No air-conditioning, so may not be appropriate in summer (was fine for October though).
The spaciousness and cleanliness of the rooms, the location of the hotel, and the guest services
Everything - the quality of the fittings, the huge bed, the bathroom, the size of the room, the warmth etc etc. And the breakfast was excellent too.
spacious, bright room, with Danish influence in design; lovely location along the Mosel river; breakfast was ok, although it could use more variety; very efficient staff; good starting point to visit around (Burg Thurant was a charming and less touristic experience). pillows; internet access
Extremely spacious, well appointed, comfortable rooms. Breakfast could have had both greater variety and quantities.
Although we only stayed one night, whilst breaking our journey, the welcome at the hotel was fantastic. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable, and the evening meal was out of this world - the choice on the menu was excellent, together with the choice of local wines to accompany it. We wished that we were staying longer.
A delightful hotel. We received a warm and friendly welcome from the family owners. A complimentary glass of wine with our (excellent) first night's dinner led us to buy some of the Conrad's own wines, which I can recommend. There's not much to see in Brauneberg itself, but nearby Bernkastel-Kues has a lovely centre (Markt), a spectacular castle and several cafes and restaurants
food good staff friendly booked a room with balcony with a view of the mosel , the hotel is on the wrong side of the road , there is no view of the river. The manager tried to get us to move on the last night so she could allocate the room to another guest by telling us there was a defect in the room.
This hotel was very dog friendly which is a definate plus for us. We also enjoyed the walking trails and pool. The decor is a bit dated and it seemed like everyone was smoking - at least we had a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor.
Staff was nice and friendly, restaurant at the down stairs was also nice and we had there a good family dinner. There were just terrible the smell of tobacco in our room!!! Argh!!!
Great spa facility that was not busy the weekend we were there. recommend a walk down thru' the vineyards to the river and the challenge of walking back up. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Good free wifi and use of fridge in room restaurant is badly run, poor follow up by management of our food complaint.
I stayed for a very short time, but the hotel is very good. None.
Plenty of parking; good sauna/pool. Boring & outdated room, worthless pillows, confusing hotel layout.
Swimming pool is very nice and also the sauna area. Very helpful staff.
1. WiFi in room (for a fee) 2. Use of Business Center computer to access internet 3. Nice breakfast buffet 1. Lack of ventilation in room 2. Major convention descended on hotel second night 3. Drunk attempting to enter our room early morning; same drunk leaving a mess in front of our door in the hallway
Staff friendly and accommodating. Ample spacious rooms. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. the hotel was not completed, still working on completion, this is understandable. The only really negative was that they would not take my credit card, they stated they were new and that service was not working. I did not take enough cash to cover the Euro 75,00. My husband and I had to scrape together our additional cash to pay and that left us with little to purchase fuel and eat for the last day of our trip.
Cleanliness, friendliness of owners, and modern amenities with wonderful breakfast. Location was perfect, walking distance to town.
The stay at Burgblick was extremely enjoyable. The service was what stands out the most as well as the quality of the hotel. There were gummy bears on your pillow when you arrive. The staff was very informative and provided useful information. Breakfast is included in the price for your stay and was really delicious with fresh fruit, bread, pastries, and meats. I highly recommend this hotel.
free wifi,breakfast,staff,location, christmas market
excellent breakfast reception is closed to early in the evening
Very nice staff. The towels were very luxurious, the white walls and purple colors made a nice environment.
Nice friendly staff, very designed hotel.
We had a really nice time staying at the hotel.
We love Ralf and the place itself. Away from the Bernkastel side, it's just a short walk across the bridge. Quiet and pretty but close enough to all the Bernkastel action!
Nice selection for breakfast It is quite a walk from the centre
the position and setting
Breakfast, location to Mosel None
the calm, and the food !! people there also are rather nice a bit lost away from any twon, shops.....without a car it is a bit more difficult
The food It seemed a bit "tired"
-the rooms are are clean and simple, nothing special. the reception isnt open 24-7.
The situation of the hotel was ideal. It was in a quiet area with views of the Mosel and lovely river walks and the river ferry station was also very close. It is situated within easy reach of the bustling Bernkastel. Breakfast was very good. We booked a vineyard view but was placed in a room overlooking the Mosel and we appreciated this much better view.
It was near to the vineyards for a nice walk. Free internet service. We were received just as numbers and not as people. Straight forward, no careing. The room was small, the bathroom minimalistic. We had asked for a twin-bedded room, and got a room with two standard beds in a row after each other. When we complained we were told that this is the way it is in Germany! And certainly, the hotel had nothing like that we asked for.A simple walking-map, fre on most hotels, was 2.5 Euro. The hotel's restaurant (nice) had an excellent menu outside but inside it showed up to have avery limited menu on Wednesdays. The good thing was that we had a low-cost evening. Good service in the restaurant. The hotel's parking garage was almost impossible to enter and even worse to get out of. Parked finally on the municipal P.
dining room no fans to cool west facing hot sunny room even with balcony doors open
The room was very clean and well laid out. It was a welcome relief after the previous 4 days staying in Paris! The restaurant had a small menu but the food was very good at a very fair price. We could not park in the hotel parking lot. There appeared to be a number of staff cars there and the hotel was very busy.
The owner was great!!!! I left my credit card and she went out of her way to work with me to get it back to me. The shower was just ok. The door kept opening and the water temp kept changing
food excellent, staff helpful and friendly, cleanliness also excellent disappointed in size of room considering the cost involved.
Very good value for money...simple, no frills.
The location was good, with easy access to Berncastle K.We found the Hotel Volz to be superb, from the warm welcome of the owners, excellent accommodation, charming staff and first class food.Information on the area avalable on site with the owners only too willing to offer advice. We found no fault with this excellent Hotel.
clean and comfortable. friendly service
It was quiet and modern. Bathroom was large. Bed was comfortable Location from town centre. Did not have satellite TV for English channels.
Very modern decor and extremely clean. Excellent view of the castle, although was not in walking distance to the town centre.
A pleasant Hotel located a short stroll from the centre of a very picturesque town. Staff were friendly and the continental breakfast did not disappoint. A kettle in the room would have been nice.
Our double room had a wonderfully large bathtub with jets which you don't often find in European hotels. The breakfast was quite nice. The service at dinner was somewhat slow.
Very good, modern spotlessly clean room with jacuzzi. Bathroom was really great too. Good breakfast. The only slight disappointment was the bed. We had asked for a room with a double bed and what we actually got was two singles pushed together. In principle not a problem, but these beds were light and with the parquet flooring, they tended to move around quite easily! This could result in some embarassing moments with one of you disappearing in the gap which suddenly opens up between the two beds. Other than that....great!
They have an excellent restaurant and offered good value for money Although there was a view of the vineyards from the balcany there was a main road and industrial buildings in between. Consequently I was slightly disappointed with the view but overall this was a good hotel offering value for money.
Great location, good food and portions, because we stayed out of season some facilities were not open which can be expected. Will stay again When we arrived the hotel was shut.A Note on the door to say please go next dooor for a key would have made it so much easier. Not good
our room towards the street was a bit noisy, and very hot due to some kind of heating underneath our room!
The restaurant staff are very friendly and the food is first class. It may be a little expensive but portions are large so the main course alone is a good meal. The situation in Bernkastel is about as good as it gets and the town is really delightful and makes a good touring centre for the Mosel.
Room 23 that we were in had mold on the celing in the shower! Not acceptabble!
I can't say enough good things about this hotel, was clean, perfect location, great price, comfy beds, breakfast was unreal.
The relaxed atmosphare and the service Nothing specific
Location Bernkastel is a delightful town and we really enyoed our stay
breakfast and dinner in the restauraunt access by car was not easy as the street outside the hotel was very narrow and easily blocked
Location Several items one room broken, such as ceiling exhaust fan in bathroom, since stopper and burned out light fixtures
Very convenient for the airport. You can walk to the airport - 12mins, or take the mini-bus after returning a hire car. The rooms are modern, and the breakfast is good value.
Close to airport, clean, big room, free parking
It was quiete. Cappucino
shuttle into airport Frankfurt/Hahn breakfast can be more better , coffee was very bad :)
The hotel is very near the airport, and they make it very easy to start your trip off in a friendly manner.
Very convienent to Hahn airport. Family room was very large and clean - Bathroom very large. Staff friendly and helpful.
Extremely friendly, helpful staff. Quick, comfortable transfer to and from airport. Hotel very close to airport. Very comfortable, lovely room. Excellent breakfast. Couldn't have been better!
Great staff. Nice material choice and cleanliness of rooms.
the staff were very friendly The bar was awful
The room was very spacious - especially for Europe. We had a large bedroom, large sitting room, and large bathroom. The owner was very accomodating. I wish the hotel had internet access.
The rooms were very comfortable en have enough space - it was nearly directly in the center of the town - we had a very fine 5 course dinner in the restaurant - professional serviert and with the neccessary explications. The parking was about 300 meters from the hotel. It is situated in an historical town at the bordfers off the mosel (wine region)
Friendly personal. Cleanless of the rooms and everything. Large and nice rooms. The kitchen of the restaurant has a good reputation. However, the breakfast was quite short (but good).
Clean. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Parking in locked area. Funny Shower. No Fire escape exit.
Charming hotel. Very kind and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Perfectly located in Bernkastel. It would have been nice if they got internet available at the hotel.
the rooms was very good and the food was very good. the red colour in the room was not nice.
It was in a lovely area with a kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom
The room was very nicely decorated and very clean. The breakfast was excellent, as was the dining room itself. Overall, very pleased with our stay. Not applicable
Wonderful breakfast...location was great!
Nice location and staff and a very spacious room. The hotel also has a good restaurant
Friendly staff, airport shuttle, comfortable beds excellent food in restaurant. when I forgot an item and rang them they searched and found it for me and agreed to ost it home for me . Nothing.
the hotel staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. They helped me in brinnging back the rented car in the middle of the night with snow. Dinner was good and price reasonable.
Obviously a brand new hotel that still has some finishing touches to attend to; however very convienient to the airport with a magnificent breakfast. None
Spa and very clean room; extended parking and shuttle service. None
Beautiful, modern decor. Great interior--lovely restaurant Wonderful spa area and sauna Room extremely small, no instructions on telephone, unable to reach front desk. No clock in room, no glasses for drinking in room.
Very clean, comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
Excellent service We order honeymoon room, but did not get it, but when we have to pay - we have to pay about honeymoon room :(
Staff were excellent, situated within 3 -5 mins Drive of HAHN terminal, regular shuttles
Very clean. The sauna and relaxation room were lovely and the receptionist was very helpful and obliging and also had very good English, which was a great bonus. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. The coffee etc. for breakfast was well done and there was a very good choice and likewise for teas. Nothing too bad - tea and coffee in the room would have been lovely. It was very wet when we arrived and we were a bit soaked, so a cuppa in the room would have been good. The breakfast was good but the milk and fruit area could have been colder. I am not sure if the fridge was working or not.
Staff were lovely and free shuttle bus anytime we wanted was excellent service. Would definately stay again. Food was great too. I liked everything about it
The owner was very friendly, and very arranging to the problems... The breakfast was ok. Never book a standard room, it's really bad equiped and noisy... I was put first in a smoking room though I asked for a non smoking room... I couldn't use the sauna arriving at 9pm, though I was told on the phone it was open till 10... For the room I got another one and then it was ok.
Position & staff friendliness Restaurant meal (dinner) was not to the standard expected
Herr and Frau Nicolay are charming proprietors of this very pleasant, civilized family run hotel on the banks of the Mosel. Rooms are comfortable and immaculately clean and we had most delicious and beautifully served 5 course dinner (wines particularly good - try the Mosel red, a revelation). On top of this, bikes, swimming pool, sauna all available. Very highly recommended indeed. No
Great breakfast buffet and exquiste five course dinner.
Great view of the Mosel River. Just blocks to the wine festival. Nice breakfast. Nice pool, sauna and breakfast.
Staff speaks good English, good location, value for money Too close to main road and is noisy at night
Hotel is right on the busline. Very convenient to the BernKastel winefest. Full - hearty breakfast
Herr Nicolay Sr. was very friendly and kind. I think the hotel should think about offering a van/ pick up service. Especially for those coming in to town for the feast or special occaisons.
Everything was great! Amazing room, good view, the surrounding are incredible and build in pool and spa facilities were an excellent addes bonus. Plus the staff was extremely friendly and the breakfast deliscieux
Excellent hotel and staff. Our room with a balcony over looked the Mosel River and was big fantastic. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel. Food in the hotel restaurant was also very good. Restaurant prices were slightly above average for the region, but the food was excellent.
A great hotel, full of charm and character. It is located on the quiet Kues side, just across the bridge from the picturesque Bernkastel. This location means that there is ample and free parking - unusual in the twin town. Our room was spacious and airy. The king-size bed was comfortable with a memory-foam mattress. There was a safety-deposit box installed with no charge for use - nice touch. The buffet-style breakfast provided wide selection - cold meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, etc. The hotel's restaurant is excellent, well-priced and the menu is available in English which is unusual in the area - a definite added advantage. The hotel has its own wines too! We recommend this hotel and we will be back! Our only quibble was with the shower - pressure was poor, temperature a bit hard to regulate. Also, there is no reception and the front door is locked!. Once we were shown our room, it was explained that patrons use the rear entrance off the car-park. This works out well but the practice, unfortunately, gives a bad first impression.
The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Also, the restaurant was excellent. The parking
Very pleasant staff. Comfortable rooms. Gracious surroundings. Quiet location. Convenient parking. Pet Friendly.
it was clean, comfortable, food was great and staff excellent
Very clean, bright modern & comfortable rooms. Food first class and good value. Stuated in a quiter part of the town. Would certainly stay there again.
The staff were very friendly, the hotel seemed like it was 4 star rather than three, we did upgraded to the better room, superb bathroom and all very clean. Good location and I would certainly go there again. We were unable to see the wine celler and taste the wine, we also did not recieve a glass of wine on our arrival which we did expect.
The Hotel was very clean and the staff very freindly. Good valve for money.
we paid the extra for a comfort room, which was nice and airy. The hotelstaff were very good and treated us with nothing but kindness. The hotel itself was spotless, nicely laid out and presentable. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the dinner menu wasvery limited, if you did not want fish or pork every night it would havebeen a problem, also it would have been nice to have an english translation of the dishes rather than us having to ask all the time. Butthis did not spoil our enjoyment of the holiday.
Nothing Old bad equipped room, very poor breakfast, hardly possible to drink in the bar, the restaurant was more Mc Donald style, serving as fast as possible to get rid of the clients, to use the table for the next meal. Not German at all!!! We go very often to Germany because of there superbe quality, this was a big disappointment.
the hotel was nice and handy for the centre and river mosel, the restraunt and court yard were nice, it was easy to park the car front rooms may be abit noisy thrrough the day with the road outside food was good, they should have there dinner menu in english . but the waiteress could speak english so she helped us with the menu. but they should have english menu
