The pool & suana, the view. Bar area could have been more "cozy"
Great pool. Great location.
Staff was very helpful.
Room very clean and location was excellent. For the standard of the hotel we thought that the food was disappointing.
A great base for seeing the Swiss mountains.
The Eiger staff were very friendly and helpful, and from what we could tell, the location is unbeatable (across the street from the train station, but with an unbelievable view). I wish our stay had been longer, but we'll certainly be back.
This place was amazing from every standpoint. Location can't be beat. Views are incredible. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful pool and sauna. Room was great and the beds were comfy! I like it all!
Helpful, professional staff, ideal location, beautiful view, excellent food and service. the in-house sauna and pool facilities were A++ The beds were uncomfortable.
Food was excellent in the Stublie. Staff were very helpful. Room had a beautiful view Main resturant and bar were a bit basic
The service and the food were excellent.
We stayed at the Eiger Swiss Hotel for 3 nights of our 2-week honeymoon throughout Europe. This was the BEST part of our trip. The journey to Murren is worth it. The views, hiking, food and alpine spring water are absolutely spectacular. Last, the hotel was superb. The staff is friendly, the hotel restaurant is wonderful, the breakfast is perfect. We stayed in the James Bond 007 suite and it was worth every penny. We will return to this gem of a hotel!
The facility was clean and exquisitely located with a beautiful view of the Alps.Susanna and other staff were so very professional, polite, and willing to go above and beyond!
Beautiful views, clean room, friendly staff, newly renovated.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in. The view is out of this world. The staff are uber-friendly, and the prices are reasonable (for Switzerland).
The hospitality was exceptionally warm and helpful from the owners and staff. The room was very comfortable and the view from it could not have been more spectacular. The traditional Swiss cuisine was fun. Total experience could not have been better Not really
Wonderful views, Good breakfast We had the feeling our children were not particularly welcome.
Fantastic view from room and dining room . Price of hotel very reasonable. Also had friendly, helpful staff. No complaints!
Breakfast was very good and the views from our hotel bedroom were spectacular. Location was extremely quiet but suited us. Didn't sleep well for the 4 nights we were there, mainly down to the beds and pillows!
Stunning location, good resaurant.
Hotel Edelweiss was absolutely perfect. Warmer, more welcoming and accomodating people I've never met. The price was very attractive, the food was delicious and the room was very comfortable, but most of all the staff made me feel like family. N/A
Great montain view just from our balcony, it's wonderful.Warm room, wooden style room, all of these all good. Breakfast just so so, except for the montain view, the price maybe too high.
Used as a stop over whilst walking part of the Alpine Pass Not really! it's ok for a budget hotel
We had room 108 which is a brand new addition to hotel. Room was fabulous and had a great design with hardwood floors, balcony and large windows overlooking valley 4000 feet below and mountains 8000 feet above. The best view from a hotel I have ever seen! You can sit in bath and look out at the mountains. Cannot speak for the older rooms as I did not see any of them.
Breakfast was nice and the view from the breakfast room was wonderful; linens were clean; this is a very old hotel Did not know that we reserved a room with twin beds and no bathroom; bathroom was down the hall; no person at the desk when we arrived; & young man was not very kind when we found him at the bar; There are many other options in the wonderful town of Murren which are much better, but we could not get out of our original reservations.
The views out of our south-facing room was spectacular, the hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was good and served out of a nice dining room with mountain views. The wireless internet doesn't reach the rooms, it's only in the lobby. But this didn't prove much of an inconvenience anyway...
Gorgeous view made up for lack of private bathroom
The room was good and the view from the balcony was brilliant. The room and the bathroom (we had to share) were clean The breakfast was not good, 4 slices of old bread in a basket and if we wanted an egg, we had to pay extra. We wanted to change our reservarion but that was not possible. In the evening we couldn't find any staff in the hotel. The hotel was nog cheap and than we expext a much better breakfast and service.
Although there are more expensive rooms, shared bathroom was a clearly stated option in the reservation system. The room was renovated, but still retained some of its charm, like the locking mechanisms on the doors. Old Old World European elegance with a view of the Alps. We had stayed at a lot of contemporary-styled hotels and this just felt different, particularly the breakfast. Lovely dining room and deck looking right out onto the Alps. Just soaked in the feel during our breakfast, we loved it here. Emailed in advance that we would have a late check in and they were very accomodating to our needs.
The room view is excellent and it does reflect from the hotel website. The breakfast room view is good too and it just like a picture with a window frame which is impressive. The toilet facilities is newly renovated whereas the room appearance is very old which does not match with each other. Perhaps we arrived late and the front desk was off and we searched around for the hotel staff and walking through the dark area made us scary and this may give a negative impact to the overall stay.
Former grand hotel. Rooms very simple but very clean. Shared or nonshared baths.Half pension in grand dining room facing Alps was European highlight: extraordinarily fine food beautifully presented.
It is good belle epoque style. You just imagine maing some great mountain holidays some 100 years ago. The view is beautiful
Wonderful location, easy to find and close to hiking and town. Spectacular views! The hotel was too expensive for what it offered (shared bathroom, older facilities, etc.). Internet in lobby only.
We did not enjoy our stay at the Regina. The hotel has a very "institutional" feel. It was very loud. The hall corridors and rooms are tile, and there is a terrible echo from other doors, people, etc. The staff was not at all friendly or welcoming. For the same price you can go down the street to the Hotel Alpina and receive warm and welcoming service and a quiet room.
Hotel Alpina has spectacular views of the mountains and the Lauterbrunnen valley. There are numerous trails to explore as well. Breakfast was good and consisted of cold cuts, cheeses, breads, fruit preserves and hard boiled eggs. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful; everyone spoke English and were more than wiling to help me expand my German. We would absolutely stay here again!! Our only complaint was common across Switzerland: the double consisted of two beds shoved together and not really secured together. There were several instances where I would be in the middle snuggled up to my wife and I'd wake up because the beds had started sliding apart and I was sinking between them. I just wish they would tie the beds together. Luckily, this was a minor frustration.
The view was spectacular. The balcony of our room was big and we spent a lot of time admiring the view . The room was clean and staff very helpful. The hotel is also not too far from the Murren cable car station. The breakfast could have been better
The hotel setting had a spectacular view of mountains and valley, the staff was very friendly and the room comfortable.
The food and the staff were very good. This was a friendly family hotel and was a very pleasant place to stay. There was nothing I did not like.
The view! Our balcony was on the edge of a cliff 5,000 feet up in the Swiss Alps! Don't expect "luxury" very plain rooms, just unbelievable views!
Location was convienient for exploring the alps. View and scenery was exceptional. Staff was very friendly and helpful
Very nice (small) room in a well-located hotel and at a great price.
The view was excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful. No full time receptionist. Internet access without own computer is limited. No ice or vending machine. No elevator. Limited ambiance.
The Hotel Alpina is situated right at cliffside and has marvelous views. request a room overlooking the Eiger, Monch, and Juanfrau ranges.
Breakfast was fantastic. Could not be a more spectacular view with a better cup of coffee.
The staff, location, and breakfast
We liked the view and the large room.
Reasonably basic hotel but centrally placed in Muren to give full access to all the fabulous hiking this region offers.
Hotel is beautiful and our room was spectacular with a balcony with an amazing view. The hotel's restaurant is one of the best in town. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Hotel Bellevue to friends.
The location and view were fantastic. The mountains were spread out before us from the deck of the restaurant and also our room. So quaint. Very roomy. I think it had one of the best views in Murren. I loved to check the web cam before we came.
Lovely and friendly staff, fantastic little restaurant, great food.
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, excellent restaurant, great location, comfortable room
The staff went out of their way to help us, the buffet breakfast was great, and the hotel and its views were beautiful.
I enjoyed the staff and food. The food definitely made up for the lack of comfort and ammenities. The outlets did not work. The bathtub was tucked into a corner and not really usable for a nice bath after a long hike. The bed was a little hard and uncomfortable for our tastes. The pillows were the worst. If you like really soft pillows, you will enjoy them. There was just an overall feel of neglect to the room; however it was clean. I think the rooms and hotel are in need of a renovation.
To have a room in a little Chalet next to the hotel
The location was excellent. I was very touched by the hotel leaving us a breakfast for the following morning as we were leaving very early. The staff had made coffee and left it in a flask with bread, cheese, meat and juice - all with a special table, tablecloth and silverware, it made us feel special and was more than expected. I think if we had stayed longer or used the restuarant for dinner we would have enjoyed the staff more.
Great mountain views, center of town, easy walking. The hotel restaurante was super! Breakfast was tasty.
friendly staff and owners
Superb situation Good food in the restaurant We were in the new chalet which was very comfortable We would have liked to have seen a kettle in the room to make tea/coffee when we wanted it
Restaurant was excellent. The location was good, generally quiet and convenient. Breakfast was very good. Room didn't have a view, but we didn't spend much time in the room with so much to see in the area.
By far our best stay in Switzerland.....everything about the hotel is good.....The staff are very friendly and helpful....Special Thanks to Frank.....the only challenge is its a good 5 - 7 mins walk from the train station/.....which is a bit inconvenient when u have ur baggages......but this is extremely a negligible part.....
Very comfortable for a 2night stay. Staff very helpful and breakfast very good. Liked the sitting room with coffee and tea available all day ( for you to make yourself). Disappointed that no TV in room. There was one in the sitting area which the staff helpfully tuned for the England-Switzerland match.
Frank was extremely helpful. Excellent buffet breakfast and free WIFI very handing for planning activities. Balcony with view of waterfalls very pleasant in both the evening and with morning sun on the valley. Single beds pushed together to make a double and decor somewhat outdated.
View from balcony, very helpful staff with local information, complimentary tea/coffee, close to restaurants, parking
The customer service at this hotel is super. Everyone from the receptionist, to the food service to the manager are very friendly and willing to help. They have great suggestions on things to do. The breakfast is plentiful and the location is great. The rooms are basic, but the space is more than adequate. We had two closets with plenty of space for clothes. The shower didn't look like much, but it gave plenty of hot water and lots of pressure. We really enjoyed Hotel Staubbach. I would absolutely recommend it.
Good welcome, beautiful position.
Big balcony with amazing view of the Jungfrau, Monch and Eiger. Good water pressure in shower. Very, very close to the train station. Very friendly staff (who seem to speak at least 6 languages). Clean room. Lots of good hiking in the vicinity. Breakfast good (bread & cheese/cold meat variety).
The staff was awesome and very friendly. They were very caring and gave us great info to have a better vacation.
Room small and basic (think student room) but clean and had everything required. Fine as an overnight place to rest head, not for honeymooners. Wifi available. Bkfast fine (breads, cheese etc). V close to train stn (2mins) which is good. Didn't eat at hotel restaurant so can't review but ate at eiger guesthouse next door and was excellent.
We had a wonderful stay. We would recommend this spot to anyone traveling to Murren. Janet and her husband are great host's.
It is in the middle of the mountains in Murren. So, the view of mountains is very good from the hotel.
Location, quality of food, helpfulness of staff and owner.
Spectacular view of the mountains. No lift.
Loved how close it was to the train station. There is a wonderful walking/hiking trail was right next to the hotel. You can go as long or as short as you desire. The views are incredible. The breakfast was better than anywhere else in Europe. My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon and they decorated our room for us - nice touch! The owner is also a chef and the dinners here are amazing! The Carrot Soup is delicious! Wifi was spotty in the rooms, but worked great in commons area. They are upgrading the wifi soon it sounds like.
Heidi and Fritz, the propriators, were excellent. Very nice, helpful and genuine. Great property, comfortable room and the world's most beautiful views! I highly recommend this property - it was a treat! The train goes by the front of the property.
The hotel is in a great location for all sorts of hiking and climbing in the mountains around Mürren and on the Schilthorn. The view is just wonderful. The breakfast each morning was tasty and filling. We had to leave early on the last day. Jeanette made it easy and even packed us a lunch bag. That was very kind and thoughtful.
Mr. and Mrs. Fitz are a marvellous couple who run a very professional business. They are helpful, kind and very warm. Their hotel is perfectly clean and has wonderful views of the mountains. The restaurant is excellent as well. We were made very welcome and Mrs. Fitz's impressive knowledge of languages surely makes an international guest list feels very much at home. The breakfast is a tiny bit limited in choice.
We had newly renovated rooms, whihc were much much more comfortable than the 4 bunk-bed rooms. Old and in need of renovation
Incredible views. Spartan rooms like dorms, but the views make up for it.
The hospitality of the staff makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive. We chose a small but clean room with an awesome view of the mountains. I recommend eating dinner in the hotel at least one night. It is easy to relax in this cozy, casual hotel. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and chatting with staff--they gave us maps and recommended the perfect hike for us.
Very friendly staff, fantastic room, great view, great location.
Great staff. Friendly, helpful, thoughtful about dining and lodging satisfaction. Wonderful spot high in the mountains with beautiful scenery yet the utmost in comfort. Good budget choice with extras (hairdryers) not usually included. Nothing. Would highly recommend it.
Very helpful and friendly staff. steep stairs to carry luggage
Great location, lovely old building and amazing views. Would recomend for skiies or boarders coming in the wintertime to enjoy the snow.
staffs are nice, food is good, mountain view is perfect
We stayed 5 nights at this hotel and had a great time. Besides having clean rooms, they have a great restaurant. We ate dinner there 3 times. Breakfast is included. I have had better, but still good. Emma and Robert are great people who made our stay more enjoyable. The view of the Alps are spectacular from Murren and I recommend this town if you are going to have a mountain vacation. nothing major, we were given the code for wi-fi to use laptop in room, but it did not work.
The staff and owner were very attentive and helpful. The facilties were very adequate, and Murren is a beatiful place with spectacular views of the Alps and wonderful hiking for all:
extremely friendly staff, flexible breakfast voucher at schilthorn, discount card for travel, restaurant food quality/service and views
Staff helpful and well informed, food good, view fabulous!
The staff are very helpful The exchange rate in the hotel euro:franc is not good, better pay by card!
This hotel has a spectacular view. We paid extra for mountainview and it was well worth it! If you are considering going up to Piz Gloria on Schilthorn do it is worth the cost of the ticket up to the top. You can take a pass from the hotel for breakfast at the top, do it! The food was great and the experience wonderful. If you aren't familiar with 007's first movie "Her Majesty's Secret Service" which was filmed mostly at Piz Gloria and Schilthorn, the hotel runs the movie around 9pm.
The location was great and the view from the room was beautiful. I hope to return in the spring or summer.
Idyllic mountain side location, unexpectedly fabulous gourmet restaurant, great place for walks in the countryside or serious hikes in the mountains.
Facing the mountain . Good scenes and huge balcony Rooms are very small
The location of the hotel is near the cable car from Stechelberg so it was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely be staying here again if I visit Murren. Murren, by the way, is a very picturesque town.
Good location and friendly staff. The restaurant meal was delicious.
Clean comfortable rooms situated in great location with fantastic views of snow covered mountains. Great breakfast buffet. Great hotel. Having to leave
The hotel is a very attractive building combining traditional chalet-style architecture on the outside with a modern interior featuring beautiful woodwork, subtle, restful and harmonious colours, excellent layouts in both public and private rooms, and interesting art throughout. Christian Aumont, the general manager, is a wonderful host - friendly, attentive, helpful and discrete. The food and wine were excellent.
Small and friendly with hands on management
Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely return for another visit.
An excellent, well run hotel.
very comfortable and free soft drinks a nice touch
I liked the location, the service, the food (especially the salad buffet at dinner, and the breakfast buffet, and the balcony (which actually faced west, not south as stated - in fact, west-facing suited us better).
Superb location, the hotel had thought of everything required for a comfortable stay even down to providing an umbrella and shoe horn in each room. Manner of the staff at breakfast
The staff, the swimming pool, the location were all very nice We were offset by the fact that the picture of the room we booked on the bookin.com site showed an upgraded version of the room we actually turned out to have booked, the management was kind enough to give us a discount
Location was great. Close to train and gondola station. Great view of the mountains and Lauterbrunnen valley.
Plesant room, very friendly staff, beautiful town, wonderful meals Small bathroom, no ice
The hotel staff were very lovely and the restaurant served good food. The double room had two single beds put together and this was not ideal nor was it comfortable for honeymooners. The interior of the hotel also needs some work done. The carpet was old and smelly and the rooms looked like a backpackers rooms.
Very cosy place. Good hotel
Family run hotel in Alps. Convenient to train station and gondola. Hotel very friendly and willing to help. Restaurant excellent. No elevator but they are willing to help with luggage to upper floors.
The staff, location, and breakfast
The hotel was in a great location. It is close to everything and there are beautiful views all around. The room was clean and comfortable at a good price and had a great view with a balcony. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The view from the hotel was fantastic - esp on a clear night, when the moon shines down at the mountain. The room was comfortable and dining at the restaurant at the glass wall area was really quite amazing with the view. Staffs are friendly and helpful - will recommend this place for pure relaxing and hiking to nearby attractions
located close to 'top of europe' and piz gloria - check weather first, fantastic food, would defo go half board next time and defo stay there again, parking at hotel, close to rail station, staff are superb, family run, great experience. nothing bad to say
Very comfort room with great view and balcony. Food was great and friendly receptionist lady. Just near by the station with 5 mins. by walk. Price reasonable as well. no elevator
Food For the first night we received a room (we named it "the gardener room") that didn't look like the ones on the pictures.Too little for a hotel room and with mould in the bathroom.
The room was very comfortable with added armchairs and balcony furniture. The Staff were all very friendly and helpful, particularly the Reception Staff. We had a good time and would go to The Silberhorn again! We are Vegetarians and the choice of the Vegetarian option on the Dinner Menu was very rich. The Stuba Menu suited us better and we had a wide choice of breakfast dishes. We certainly didn't starve!!
internet services is expensive and make no sense to pay that much for it
close to everything in Wengen
The location It is questionable if this really is a four star hotel????!!!! The food was of low quality.
Fantastic rooms and great location!
It is a nice hotel.....with friendly staff..... Do not go to this town Westen in May......The place is dead in the evening time. Their was one restaruant open and no bars......You would be better off staying in lauterbrennan.
Location of hotel good for town, train and cable car. Good ski and boot room.Helpful staff We were advised repeatedly by other locals not to eat dinner in this hotel as their evening meal was said to be poor!
Please write at least 15 words
Very good location and very friendly staff, the room was perfect for a family
no ventilation in the bathroom,no window net,we could be overseen by people in the main street, having to keep the curtains shut is not a good option, and the service at breakfast was poor
The location of this camping provides it with outstanding views of the valley. The overall atmosphere is very cosy, and the staff is excelent.
I have cooked in the kitchen. I couldn't cook anytime. Between 2pm-5pm I could not cook.
Great value accomodation in a stunning location
Friendly staff, clean and quiet place, good view of waterfall Far from railway station, have to walk for 15 minutes
Nice scenery - near to a waterfall, clean hostel/cabins, clean shared toilets/shower, kitchen with all utensils that you can use, shop in the camp Arriving times - just certain times in the evening
Camping Jungfrau has various types of accommodation and good facilities(bar, supermarket on site, selling cable car tickets, renting a bike...). It was quite safe, quite enough for family trip, good mixture of young groups and families and easy walking distance from everything. We stayed in a mobile home for six people. Everything there was quite good but the stove was too week to cook and no hot water in bathroom so we had to take a shower in the shared bathroom (it was good....enough hot&high pressure water).
It is cosy bungalow, suits for family. It is opposite Staubbach Falls, the view is terrific. It is very easy to explore Jungfraujoch or Shilthorn. We have very happy time here. The room with bunks bed is quite small.
very very clean, nice staff, good location(littel bit far from station,,you'd better request to hotel for pick up if you don't have car), nice restraunt etc... nothing.
location was excellent, stunning scenery. very comfortable lounge area with open log fire and comfy chairs, huge picture windows. the room did not have a kettle/coffee making facilities. no spa or swimming pool, even though it was classed as 4star. they gave you the option online to pick a more expensive room with a balcony and view. when we got there, the scenery was sooo stunning and readily available from any angle, that paying for the view was uncalled for. the alps were on the hotels doorstep. the balcony was tiny and consisted of 2 hard chairs, no table.
Breakfast was superb and hotel staffs were very kind. Hotel rooms were mainteined in very good condition. Teh room rate was very reasonable in Switzerland.
Everything is much below my expectations....NOT Recommended unless u dont mind to pay 4 stars but get 1 star services. Duvet is very small and not suitable for adult. Not much choice in Breakfast Buffet table(s)...
I liked the location and freindly service.
Great view, well located (although this can be said about 90% hotel in Alps), really good restraunt, excellent home-made wine. Hotel is "ancient" and this is it's main feature There was a dust on the furniture, bad was increadibly uncomfortable, not enogh towels in the bathroom
Staff were very nice; restaurant was excellent bathrooms were not fantastic; no duvets; linen sheets not as comfortable; breakfast should have fresher fruit
The view from the room. The old-time atmosphere. My review reflects the fact that I stayed at the hotel in summer time, when it seems that the staff is at a minimum and everything is reduced as much as possible (personnel, lighting, food). The gourmet restaurant was closed (but it was not mentioned at booking time) and the breakfast was barely essential.
Great location. The Breakfast was great. For 300 per night it was a bit expensive. Once upon a time it was a grand hotel in the mountains. But it has become a bit rundown. It is in need of some fresh paint and new pillows The rooms have been cut up into small rooms with a maze for hallways, which of course takes away from the feeling of a grand hotel. Some of this inattention may be because of the poor economic times. Very few travelers in Wengen this summer.
View side from the hotel was really good, hotel is above arround 1100 m. and you can see the the top of montain from the hotel facilityies of the hotel was really old and bad. I take two rooms, the refrigrator in the first room not working propapely and there was no available in the second room. Staff are very limited. i.e. the one whose working in the front office responsible for house keeping, room services and there was only one serving all of customers during breakfast!
The hotel view and staff were excellent. We would recommend this hotel. Bathroom was dated.
My prior visits were when prior owners there. Very warm atmosphere. Excellent food. Mattresses were 'rock hard'. This interfered with sleeping.
The food at Jack's Brasserie was very nice. It was a ski in ski out hotel. It was comfortable and friendly if a bit faded glamour. The rooms were a little dowdy and could do with brightening up.
The staff and service were above my expectations. The sauna and steam room were not as hot as they should be
The beauty of the hotel, the wonderful garden and the kindness of the staff
The staff was amazing, never experienced that level of service before.
We loved the spectacular view of the mountains from our very comfortable room and balcony.
The lovely setting and the very friendly staff Wireless internet would be appreciated
The hotel is very nice and lovely views. It has a wine list fantastic bourdeux at honest prices. The mattresses of the beds are very bad
We found the room quaint, slightly old but very well kept up. The room and surroundings were quiet and the breakfast outstanding. The service at breakfast was very good, the staff very happy and went out of their way to provide efficient service
The hotel staff was excellent -- very friendly and accommodating. The hotel rooms were large but the decor was vintage 1960s with mismatched wallpaper and furniture and bathrooms in desperate need of renovation. They did not correspond to the reviews on your website.
Food was excellent Room was very small - although when we booked the reservation had said 'smaller north facing' .....but it was very small.
The reserved seating for breakfast was a little over the top. It only made for bad feelings and served no purpose other than make the people who were aware they could request tables feel important and those that were not aware, slighted.
Location. Scenery was very nice everywhere including in breakfast room. Breakfast can be improved.
Friendly staff and clean comfortable beds (feather pillows and duvets)
Very friendly staff. great location, beautiful, peaceful and close to center. Goof breakfast
Friendly staff, good location The 5 minute walk uphill to the lift/ station with full ski gear! Not that bad really
The view of Jungfraujoch and the mountain scenery from our window was excellent.
Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent views, clean rooms, food very good. The final bill was even less than I expected. There is a steep walk of a few hundred metres up to the station from the hotel which may not be suitable for everyone.
