Pros: It’s very hard to describe this property. Everything was amazing, the location, the host, the food, the rooms. We arrived late and we were lucky to have Virginie prepare us a delicious dinner. I’m sure we had the best cherry crumble pie in the world. Breakfast included only local and home made delicious goods. The rooms are very clean and carefully designed by the owner - a really nice treat was the freestanding hot tub. Thank you for the perfect stay!
Cons: The fact that we didn’t spend more days here :)

Pros: Everything - beautiful renovation, great facilities and a really comfy bed. Plus the bonus of lovely Dalton for a breakfast cuddle.
Cons: Nothing it was fantastic
9.5 Excellent
Pros: When you're traveling in the area - while visiting Loire castles, for instance -, La Fouardière is almost like a contemporary inn (or 'auberge'). It totally fits a medieval/renaissance tour. This renovated farm has a timeless setting. It was super-quiet, breakfast was wonderful and our host a delight. We only stayed for one night, and that was excellent.
Cons: Some things look better than they're practical, like the bathtub and its taps.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, super friendly host (who kindly booked us a taxi to a restaurant and ironed our clothes!), great breakfast, great dog!
Cons: An iron in the room would have been handy, but as the host offered to iron for us, it was not a big deal!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great hostess, great breakfast, beautiful accommodation
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The converted farmhouse was a dream. The renovations undertaken by the owner were superb, tasteful, classy yet sympathetic to it's origins. Before arriving, we received an offer of a Table D'Hote Meal and i'm so pleased we said yes, lovely food made from products from the garden and a bottle of reasonably priced local wine. The bedroom had the real wow factor, a huge oval bath was the centrepiece of a modern vaulted room; we were speechless. Absolutely wonderful. Breakfast the next morning was equally good; fresh fruit, yoghurt with fruit and granola, cake baked the previous evening (whilst she was preparing dinner!), the list goes on. The best breakfast of our two week stay in France.
Cons: Nothing at all.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and stylish, with very nice furniture. The breakfast was good. The host has been nice!
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Christine, the hostess of the place, made our week stay wonderful. She helped a lot to organize our visits to the castles. The breakfasts were delicious with home made marmelades, fresh goat cottage cheese, eggs from her own farm and freshly baked cookies, each day different. The hotel is perfectly placed close to the castle but in a very quite natural environment.. One could enjoy evening with a bottle of wine at the terrace surrounded with roses. We highly recommend this hotel either for a short overnight stay as well as for a long visit. . Marina and Igor

Pros: This was easily the treasure of all the places I’ve stayed in the last weeks whilst cycle touring in France. The property is just 2 pleasant kms along lanes from the velo-Loire. From the moment I arrived, to the moment I left, I was made to feel so incredibly welcome by hosts who clearly enjoy meeting people from around the world. A delicious dinner (I was invited to a family celebration) and a copious breakfast, together with comfortable quiet room, made this a stay to remember. Simply delightful true French hospitality.

Pros: The host was very welcoming and her ability to speak English helped given our French is not as good as we would like. The location, albeit a little remote, was ideal to use as our base for sightseeing whilst in the area.
Cons: Would have been nice to know in advance that options to eat out were more limited than we had anticipated.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet rural location - perfect place for families with young outdoorsy kids. Free wine at dinner, which is always a winner!
Cons: It is very quiet - we were effectively obliged to dine there if we wanted wine with dinner (we did). Mostly ok, but main course was a bit school dinners...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very large comfortable room extremely clean. The place would’ve a great family vacation destination.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Such a lovely place in the middle of the forest, but a short walk to the village. My daughter and I loved it.

Pros: Nature. Room condition.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Diane de Poitiers room is quiet, spacious with large bathroom. Pool was welcome relief during the 2019 European Heatwave. Evening meal and wine were delicious. Hotel is close to Chateau de Chambord.
Cons: Selection of breakfast items could have included more protein options, such as hard-boiled eggs or meat; it was mostly carbohydrates and dairy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner was lovely and explained everything well in English. It is a very peaceful location with access to lots of activities if wanted including table tennis, tennis, swimming pool, bicycles etc. We didn’t utilise any of this on our trip. There is a lovely shop on site with local information and products. The hostess sold us discounted tickets for the Chateau which was great. The room was large and very clean. Plenty of parking.
Cons: No TV or tea/coffee making facilities in the individual rooms, but this was available in communal spaces, our personal preference is in the room. The hostess made restaurant recommendations which was great however due to our late arrival everywhere was either booked or closed, as a note book in advance. This is no reflection on the hotel just a piece of advice.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely Family style Bed & Breakfast! Owner was very helpful and welcoming! Breakfast was amazing and delicious! Location was a little part of paradise!
Cons: Having to leave

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Payment for the rooms is cash only and it wasn’t mentioned anywhere. Everything else was perfect.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very polite staff
7.5 Good
Pros: The lady , Anne , who welcomed us & prepared the wonderful breakfasts was lovely , very kind & friendly . We liked it that each room had its own little private terrace so we could sit outside in the evening & we enjoyed being so near to Chambord which was the purpose of our visit . It was wonderful having the pool as it was so very hot .
Cons: The many things that didn't work properly . The doors were very difficult to lock , we had a light bulb missing & , despite several requests , it was never replaced . The ventilator fan had been assembled incorrectly as had the shutter in the bathroom . The rings holding up the shower curtain were upside down making it difficult to draw the curtain . Also , it was about 30° & there was no fridge . All these small things spoiled what could have been a perfect visit . Then , we discovered on the penultimate day that it was either cash or cheque to settle the bill . As we rarely carry a cheque book it meant that we both had to scuffle around drawing out money that day & the next because of our daily limit on withdrawals . If we had not found this out we would have been unable to pay ...then what ?
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was light and very clean with own private terrace to sit out and relax or whatever. The owner was extremely helpful and recommended a good restaurant. We enjoyed the very generous breakfast with everything one could wish for. We cycled from there to Chambord Castle and then to Blois and back. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the pool which was heated and cleaned every day.
Cons: They don't accept credit cards but fortunately we had enough cash with us.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location convenient for autoroute and chateaux. Breakfast good. Private terrace a real bonus.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice Place with a nice hostcouple. Very helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Most of things was great. Facilities are really modern and comfortable. Bedroom is quite spacious. Toilet really clean and big. Breakfast quite complete and with good taste. And all spaces in one level (groundfloor, no stairs...)
Cons: Well... The woman in charge was "extremely" nice and kind. She was so much that breakfast time was a bit complicated. Food and key things was great. All guests take breakfast together actually. But the woman presence controlled the whole breakfast time, creating a kind of weird atmosphere and feeling under pressure. Dont get me wrong, she did her best.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, quiet and friendly owners. Close to Chambord.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient, near the road. We were driving from the north to the south and this was the perfect accommodation to rest and continue driving the day after. Very easy to pick up the keys even if we arrived late at night. The breakfast wasn’t bad but it could be improved a little.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast. Good price.
Cons: Could not pay by card. Drive to accommodation full of potholes.

Pros: The lake and the ducks :) The accommodation is just what you should expect. They offer good facilities like refrigerator, electric stove, microwave.
Cons: Very tight schedule for check-in (17:00-19:00). Inadmissible for a touristic location. A bit of an odor in the room (probably from the lack of fresh air). Poor choices at breakfast. Pros: + Hostess smiling and helpful, + Very quiet place with a little lake and ducks walking around, + Close to Chambord and Chevergny.
Cons: - The bathroom is not separated from the room by anything apart from a curtain on a metal cord which is not really fixed - it is not really convenient, - The stairs without handrails on one side - dangerous for the little kids.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location, the highlight being sitting outside on the terrace with drinks served by our hostess, looking out over the mill pond. Eloise really made us feel welcome and it was no problem arriving early (though we asked in advance). The room was modern and well appointed. Good breakfast around a communal kitchen table with the other guests. Memorable.

Pros: Beautiful room (the Mansard room) with the most comfortable four poster bed... we had such an amazing sleep ! the room really was beautiful and unique with lots of little special touches (soaps, shampoos, water...). Morning breakfast was copious and very nice. A real "chateau" experience which was even better than i had imagined. The family owners of the chateau themselves welcomed us. Only a few minutes drive to one of the most famous castles - CHAMBORD - and very accessible by car to all the other castles in the region too. Beautiful grounds and views too. Thank you for a great stay !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Magnificent property with ancient Blue Atlas Cedars!!
Cons: The service, history and the subtle but gracious how guests have the option to dine together and exchange stories and adventures
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the access to all of the chateau was lovely, you could choose which room to rest in and spend your time. The addition of the portable air conditioner was much appreciated as it was during a heat wave and to hot to leave the chateau until the afternoon. I liked the fact that it was unhurried and I was left to rest without disturbance after my equestrian event. I found the service perfectly French and without intrusion and the Table d' Hote meal superb.
Cons: am used to international hotel buffets so found the breakfast a little minimal when one is dieting. It was simple french fare delivered on time with coffee and a smile and interaction for the plans of the day and this was pleasant.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our night at the chateau. It was close to the Loire and we enjoyed walking down to the water. The chateau had character and the breakfast was great too!
Cons: We had lots of bugs in our bathroom, but it comes with the character of the chateau :)
4.5 Okay
Pros: Hospitality good, friendly staff and management
Cons: Very inconvenient if you don't have your own transport. No taxis, no ATM's, Taxi only want cash, long walk 2km + to restaurants and shops , most closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, hotel dirty, lots of cobwebs and very expensive relatively.

Pros: Great location and very pleasant setting. Nice calm property with well decorated rooms and very kind service. Garden is great to enjoy a coffee outside. Breakfast is right what you expect. You feel quite at home and the owner is very helpful. Bicycles available to ride along the Loire. Made a great reservation in Blois for us for a super diner.
Cons: Our bedding was a bit small and even more when you are over 6ft. Would be a good idea to change the mattress.

7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly owner. Room is nicely decorated.
Cons: The shower.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A completely different experience, like going back in time. A very interesting and pleasing place to stay. Very peaceful and beautiful. Near Blois a very pretty, historical town which has Lots of good restaurants suitable for all ages. The owners absolutely charming and so welcoming and wanted to do everything possible to make us happy and comfortable. It felt like they were inviting us in to their family. They spoke excellent English. We were also given a choice of room which turned out to be a lovely flat slightly separated from the other guests.
Cons: The double bed in our room was a little small but we were offered another room with a very large bed but we chose to stay where we were as it was a separate flat with own staircase and more privacy and also meant we were very close to our children’s room. Not a big problem, but we had to ask for toilet roll each morning. Some of the rugs on the floor very slippery, nearly fell a few times.

4.5 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Lack of interaction with hosts, no contact like in other guesthosts Badly organized, email about supper was left unanswered, offer did not correspond in many ways to reality Basic breakfast for owners of a bakery, no choice of bread The milk was sour☹️
7.0 Good
Pros: Whilst the accommodation had all or most of what was advertised it was perhaps a little misleading. eg the TV was in the lounge.
Cons: The drinks making facilities were downstairs and we were uncertain if we could use them other than at meal times. the breakfast was very basic consisting of one French stick per couple plus a croissant apiece. There was butter and a selection of jams. Tea and coffee was provided but that was it. The storage box at the bottom of the bed was falling apart and threatened to collapse at any moment.

Pros: The owners are absolutely wonderful folks. Our accommodations were comfortable, clean and well decorated. Fantastic breakfast with homemade jam from the owner's 90yr old grandmother- YUM!

Pros: Extremely clean and comfortable hotel, our room was spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and decorated, the bed was very comfortable, lovely shower room. Very kind, helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious, very fresh and tasty and in a lovely. tasteful, spacious and clean breakfast room. The restaurant in the hotel in our opinion was first class, truly delicious food and very attentive service, we simply cannot fault it and would recommend it to anyone. The restaurant is very attractive, tastefully presented and spotlessly clean, tables set out very well and the food really is excellent and fairly priced. We were extremely impressed with the entire experience of staying at this hotel, and the owners and staff should be commended on running an excellent establishment. As far as we are concerned it should be 4 star! Thank you for a truly wonderful stay.
Cons: Nothing! Everything was perfect.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Olivier is very friendly and helpful and the room was perfect for a brief stay for a music festival in Chambord. The breakfast was lovely too :)

7.0 Good
Pros: The restaurant is nice but the only choice you have. Not cheap but reasonable quality. Room was a bit crowded for the family. But the staff generally accommodating if a little gruff at times. Perhaps arriving on bikes wasn't what they would prefer.
Cons: Expensive breakfast and lack of options for dinner locally.
7.0 Good
Pros: The entire compound is very pleasing, being able to enjoy a good supper a few metres away from one's room
Cons: The room was rather sparse, although this may have been because we were allocated room for disabled people.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The restaurant was trying to be more up market and wasn't child friendly at all. We asked for the children to share a meal as they were all large and got charged an additional 5 euros, not sure what for. The room was basic, I wouldn't call it a family room, it just had an additional sofa bed. Also located next to a large power station!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Travelling with 2 dogs - perfect location and could not have been more helpful. Arrived late and they kept the restaurant open for us!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly, and very professional. The restaurant was excellent with high quality ingredients - The chef cooks on an open fire in the middle of the restaurant, a very special experience. The decoration of the good-sized room was cosy and authentic

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an amazing farm house hotel. We stayed here back in May of 2014 and had to come back to the same hotel in May of 2019 because it was so perfect. You feel like family when you stay here, like you are on your own little farm. The restaurant at the hotel has spectacular food, my opinion 5 stars isn't enough. The breakfast is a very nice lite French breakfast. I loved it, very delicious. Also the bar was always open to get a beer and sit out in the open yard and enjoy the nice country air.
Cons: Me speaking only English and no French was a bit of a language barrier, but we were still always able to communicate what we wanted.

Pros: The owner was amazing . Great little working farm which we were lucky enough to have the owner show us around. She raises a special type of goat that you get mohair from. She explained the whole process to us. She had wonderful suggestion for dinner. The property is located right outside the chambord chateau and forest. She said to watch out for deer and wild boar on the way back from dinner and we saw both! The wild boar were amazing to see If we visit the area agian we will definitely stay here. My wife bought a wonderful mohair scarf from the owner.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: The room, after protest we got a bigger room as showde on the pictures, but with a shared Bath and toilet, used by staff and others, out side the room, as we have paid for private bath facilities.
