Pros: Breakfast was very good in contrast to most of the breakfasts we’ve had in Yucatan. The pool is very nice and perfect to cool down after visiting the nearby ruins of Uxmal. The host is also very friendly. Recommended!
Pros: We loved the localisation! After long and busy day it’s nice to stay in place calm like this. It’s very green inside. Breakfast delicious.
Pros: The room is in fact a personal hut so cute ! Typical palm roof and apart from the others surrounded by a tropical garden. The staff speaks English (uncommun in small towns). The owner was very nice to us. We really recommand the place !
Pros: Cosy bungalow with hammock, nice swimming pool, correct staff, very tasty breakfast, ... we asked to stay one extra night but unfortunately this was not possible :)
Cons: I loved the margerita's and the dinner was also tasty, but it did not exactly correspond to its description on the menu... however it was good :)
Pros: We loved the vibe at this chic little hotel. The gardens were beautiful and the pool very inviting after a hot day at the near by ruins. The rooms were cool and equipped with a fan and AC, each with a balcony with a small table and chairs. Valerie the owner is very ‘hands on’ and wants to know that you have all you need and are comfortable. The Magaritas were the best, the dinner very very good. We will return.
Pros: All over this property, the vegetation and foliage is labeled. It was really fun to walk around and try to identify the plants on our own, then check the signs to see if we were correct. Not sure if there was anything we didn't like... Have to go back and see! Honestly, this place was fantastic. Such a jem tucked in the jungle.
Pros: We love the location, really close to Ruta Puuc to visit the archaeological Maya ruins, we love the style of the rooms "Maya House", the food and the name of the hotel. We had a wonderful time. The rooms were comfortable with AC and fans, the swimming pools was great
Pros: The staff is very friendly, valerie is a really sweet lady with two super funny corgis. We only spent one night there on our way to bacalar but we suggest to stay 2 nights at least to enjoy more Sant elena, the place with the swimming pool and the amazing food they serve. We totally reccomend this place.

Pros: Very nice staff, nice breakfast, the room was clean and nice. Perfectly located for the ruins or even further for celestun.
Cons: The pool was not clean, the hotel was almost empty during our stay.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and efficient. The breakfast offered many delicious options. Room was well appointed, quiet and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and well taken care of.
Cons: It would have been nice to have more than one bottle of water per day left in the room.
Pros: Everything - location in the quiet corner, surrounding, the personel, rooms - it was fantastic experience :)
Cons: Everything was just perfect :)
Pros: When the three of us arrived, we were given a glass of lemonade and shown a comfortable chair in the lobby. When we were ready, the host escorted us to our rooms and showed us the swimming pool. The conversation with the owner and the breakfast were both refreshing. I would definitely return to the Flycatcher!
Cons: Flycatcher was faultless.
Pros: Great breakfast. Lovely setting.
Cons: Loved the colored LED lights in the pool. The food was terrific. Make sure you have a meal here as well.
Pros: Friendly staff, lovely grounds and pool, tasty breakfast and 15 minutes to Uxmal.
Pros: Friendly staff and owner. Nice quiet place, but only a short drive away from touristic highlights like Uxmal.
Pros: All ok. Nice house, cozy and clean.

Come and enjoy a vacation experience unlike any other at Hacienda Temozon, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Temozon Sur.
Pros: This location is amazing! Really nice and huge hacienda. The combination of old and modern is really cool and you can wander around the premises and see a lot. Also the service was good and what you can expect for this Luxury hotel and price. The people are super friendly.
Cons: The hacienda is surroundgeluid by a small village which caused some noise in the evening but also during the day when hanging around the pool. The staff is super friendly but sometimes a bit too friendly. We felt a bit uncomfortable at times as it can feel like your are constantly on the radar. Other than that, nothing!
Pros: Beautiful, authentic Hacienda in a fantastic location
Cons: The final price did was higher than the booking price as taxes were not included, nor a service fee imposed by the hotel. We were negatively surprised by how much higher the final price was and this was our only disappointment with the Hacienda. Pricing should be more transparent in the booking price!
Pros: We especially enjoyed the hand-drawn hot tub/bath just outside of our room. Also the staff in the restaurant were especially nice and gave me a free dessert because it was my birthday! Very sweet!
Cons: There could have been more pipian sauce on the chicken pipian.
Pros: Staff was very friendly
Pros: Great setting in old hacienda. Room well equipped and spacious.
Cons: Gardens not as well tended as four years ago. Horse-drawn trolley to cenote no longer operates.
Pros: Best place to stay at! Beautiful Hacienda! the service is excellent! the whole atmosphere is very peaceful. Wonderful restaurant, the food is amazing! I completely recommend this place
Pros: The property is an old peaceful hacienda, which has been adapted and remodel to create a hotel. It is surrounded by nature and you could hear the birds singing in the morning. The rooms are big, the bathroom is huge, and it has its own private small pool. The decoration is nice, with attention to details. The pool is big. The massages are good.
Cons: The price for the stay, the spa, and for the food in the property is very expensive. Considering the location, which is a property surrounded by nature, the room has a lot of insects. There are small cracks in the borders of doors and windows that allow insects to crawl into the room. The food quality could improve, there were some dishes that were on the menu but were not available when ordering. There was a lot of dust in the room. The internet signal was very poor throughout the property.

Featured amenities include a computer station, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Nice place, big rooms, beautiful pool! Great location for seeing the Uxmal Ruins first thing in the morning and having them to yourself!
Cons: The actual Casa de Mago obviously is not in use anymore! You have to go to the Hacienda Uxmal! They will tell you that you get an upgrade although the rooms are exactly the ones on the pictures! Everything additional (water, breakfast, dinner) is very expensive!! If you booked with Casa del Mago you will pay a smaller price but you will get the cheap treatment!!
Pros: Very nice location and upgrade to room in hotel cor no additional price
Cons: Terrible food at the restaurant, largely overpriced dir the quality
Pros: We've been upgraded by the very nice manager as it was low season. Very nice place and very good location !
Pros: The surroundings
Cons: Price for the food
Pros: The staff and grounds were excellent
Cons: No electrical outlets in room to charge phones
Pros: SUPER friendly service !
Cons: Can't stay longer :(
Pros: Place was very beautiful and the manager Nicolas was extremely nice ! We got a free upgrade in the Hacienda, which is very neat, well located and with a beautiful pool! We recommend !
Pros: Amazing. Beautiful. Comfortable. Attentive staff. Amazing location directly across road from the archeological zone at Uxmal. Great pool. Great bar.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Great hotel, close to the Uxmal ruins. We had a very relaxt stay here, in spacious rooms. The whole atmosphere was nice and you still feel the old hacienda vibe. Next to the big road but you never hear it from the hotel. Definitely recommended.
Pros: Location for early morning access to ruins
Cons: Water supply was intermittent (on/off) due to building works. Cocktails and drinks were poor (weak).
Pros: Fantastic hotel. Just outside the Uxmal archaeological site. Wonderful staff, great service, delicious food. They kindly accommodated our request for a room with private balcony. Can’t say enough good things about the hotel.
Pros: Staying @ the Uxmal Hacienda Plantation is as magical as the Uxmal archaeological site. We were in the Jackie Kennedy room. We enjoyed the photos from her visit that added to the decor of the room. The breakfast was delicious and the coffee divine! We asked for a recommendation for a personal guide— and Javier was outstanding.
Pros: Nice swimming pool. Hotel with a rich history Proximity to Uxmal ruins (5min walk)
Pros: On arrival we will told that due to renovations we would be staying at the lodge hotel. The Lodge was fantastic, each check in, friendly staff, very nice suite and location was great (just across street from Uxmal ruins). WiFi in rooms was also good and pools were both nice.
Pros: Very nice location with walking distance to the pyramids.
Cons: Most of the time hot water didn't run.
Cons: This is far from what it calls itself, a “hacienda”. It’s very commercialized, a bit too much, and on a busy road too so you hardly get the sense a hacienda would provide. We booked the Princess of Monaco suite, very nice room but ridiculously overpriced for what it was. Although this is a sister property with Mayaland at Chichen Itza, everything is considerably more expensive here, for example the Margaritas were double price and half the quality too. Upon entering our room we found a TARANTULA- yes it was a tarantula -in the corner behind the door! The staff was responsive and immediately came to remove it but I mean, can’t you at least check the room beforehand especially when you know that insects in the grounds abound? Later in the evening we found a lizard crawling on the wall and called again for someone to remove it. All in all, we wouldn’t stay here again.
Pros: The landscape
Cons: Breakfast at 10:00am
Pros: Location, food, rooms, environment
Cons: Price of food is expensive
Located in Santa Elena, The Lodge At Uxmal is in the historical district, within a 5-minute walk of Uxmal Archaeological Site and Pyramid of the Magician. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Planning an event in Santa Elena? This lodge features 9903 square feet (920 square meters) of event facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: It is right in front of the site.
Cons: The hotel restaurant (the only one around), was truly terrible. All the food had been cooked in old stale oil that should have been replaced most likely months ago. As a consequence all the food tasted of that. I mysteriously got food poisoning a few hours after having lunch there...still going after 3 days.
Pros: Beautiful room, lovely grounds, exceptional service from concierge Luis. The Uxmal tour with Jorge was amazing.
Cons: The biggest problem was Booking.com who insisted we had made a reservation for a date we had not made using a confirmation number we did not have. It took many emails and several of their customer service agents to correct their error.
Pros: Nice hotel with fairly basic rooms. Ideal for exploring Uxmal.
Cons: Catering a bit limited.
Pros: Very pretty architecture, at the entrance of the Uxmal site. Nice big palapa restaurant.
Cons: Pool not clean enough. Too many moskitos.
Pros: This is an exceptional hotel. The location is perfect for visiting Uxmal (1 minute away) and the staff could not have been more attentive. Large swimming pool. Highly recommended.
Pros: The mezzanine room was stunning. The place is beautiful and quiet (except for chirping birds) and right next to the archeological zone. Staff very friendly. Loved the Mayan breakfast with Luis.
Pros: This is a lovely hotel located within walking distance of the ruins at Uxmal, which are magnificent. The hotel has beautiful lush gardens, lovely swimming pools and palm trees. Also with in walking distance of the Choco Museum. The dinner buffet was WONDERFUL. Literally one of the best buffets we've ever had - and it was mostly authentic Mayan dishes. Our concierge, Luis Felipe Chan Herrera, provided excellent service to us. If you can, ask for the Mayan breakfast at the little Mayan village they have reproduced near the hotel. It was very nice and the food was delicious!
Cons: No issues with this hotel.
Pros: Very nice room. Friendly people. Very good location. Large swimming pool. During our visit, there weren’t many other guests. Good food, but not cheap.
Cons: 1 arrogant waiter. No WiFi in the room!!

When you stay at Eco-Hotel Nueva Altia in Santa Elena, you'll be 14 minutes by car from Uxmal Archaeological Site. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: This is a real oasis surrounded by nature. To get here, you have to take a country road for 800 meters - so it's quite isolated, but if you're looking for a calm place this is it. The room was big and very clean. We stayed there for dinner: they have a fixed menu (three courses: soup, main dish, dessert) for a fair price. Breakfast is good, fruit and eggs. The staff is kind and very helpful and they provide you with towels for the swimming pool. Super nice!
Pros: Room was clean. The location was not exactly a forest like they said more like bush land. It was quiet location that you need a car to get too.
Cons: No hot water, no air conditioning. Breakfast was small. And they charge extra for a coffee. Swimming pool didn’t look clean. Out of 10 electric sockets two worked.
Pros: Great place to relax in the middle of the jungle ! We had a great time there. The hotel is very close to the ruins of Palenque ; the swimming pool is very welcomed after a hot day at the ruins
Pros: This is one of my favorite places to stay. It’s a dream come true for jungle lovers who like comfort. I was there while pregnant and now with our little one and the cosy rooms and mosquito nets make it a fantastic place to sleep. Very kid friendly and the perfect location on the magical Ruta Puuc. Highly recommended!
Pros: I liked everything about this property. They are authentically eco w/o compromising comfort. The grounds are beautiful and I like that it is off the road into the jungle about 1km . The land is sacred and you can feel the energy. The owners and staff are splendid.
Cons: Can’t think of a thing
Pros: The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We loved the location, and this hotel was probably the best option in the area that was authentic and eco friendly. There are other more luxury options, but those felt like tourist traps. These ladies are running a clean and confortable place to stay in the Mayan jungle with an emphasis on eco that we really appreciate. At light you can hear all the jungle sounds and if you go by the pool to see the stars you’ll also see bats flying around. It’s a great place to disconnect and relax. The breakfast was so good too!
Cons: Couldn’t figure out if there was hot water, but it wasn’t a big deal. The Temezcal was really expensive (and we’ve done many others through Mexico), otherwise we would’ve done it.
Pros: Wonderful location for visiting the local ruins and cenotes Comfortable, clean rooms at a nice price Friendly, helpful staff and pretty grounds Tasty breakfast and good WiFi
Cons: It was a bit noisy in the mornings...however, to be fair there was a minor maintenance emergency that seemed to require immediate work with power tools
Located in Uxmal, Uxmal Resort Maya is in a national park, within a 5-minute drive of Uxmal Archaeological Site and Pyramid of the Magician. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The shower
Cons: Nothing very special
Pros: Everything was really good. Staff were kind and helpful, big rooms, nice breakfast and really good restaurant!
Cons: It's a bit hard to get to without a car, but that's not really a negative - just bear it in mind.
Pros: I appreciated how everyone was able to or really worked hard to answer my questions, then search our room for my sunglasses after we had vacated. The swimming pool was lovely - set close to Uzmal.
Pros: The staff were amazing, and really helpful and polite - the rooms super comfortable with a HUGE shower and great pressure. The meals from the restaurant were a reasonable price, delicious and decent portions - try the milanesa!! It was fantastic having a pool, spa and massage parlour all in the same grounds also. Thank you for the wonderful place to relax and recharge!!
Cons: The only issue was with the curtains, they didn't cover the whole window.
Pros: The hotel offers a unique experience of country idyll and full resort facilities. The rooms have huge windows with large balconies so the views are wonderful. Staff are wonderful as well, the grounds are beautiful, in short it's the perfect place as a base for exploring Uxmal and the Ruta Puuc.
Pros: I booked two stays at Uxmal Resort Maya during a two-week exploration of Yucatan's Mayan archeological sites and my time there was great during both stays. The American breakfast is ample and tasty, the restaurant offers a good range of dishes and the grounds are large enough to afford place to walk and feel like you're in a park. During the second stay the number of guests was small and I felt like I was at a private country estate. The trees on the property are lovely -- many flame trees (Delonix regia) that when flowering would make a spectacular show, and a beautiful ceiba (Ceiba pentandra) as you enter the parking lot. A treat all round.
Pros: Good view over the area and uxmal on the horizon. Otherwise good hotel in the Middle or nowhere, but nothing special. Friendly, funny and helpful staff.
Cons: Beds are a bid hard and not the most comfortable ones.
Pros: The place was great!!!!! You are surrounded by the trees and you are feeling like you are living in the jungle. The view was really nice. We got a room with a balcony and with the pool view. At the hotel you can also play pool for free. It is near Uxmal archeological site (3-5min with a car) or you can go there from the hotel by walking. It is a great stay for 1-2 nights because later yo simply won't have what to do. By the way, if you are afraid of insects - don't be. We ,,met'' more mosquitos in Cancun as in the jungles. There are also some hammocks near the swimming pool so you can chill out there. Drinks and food aren't expensive if you don't have any with you, you can have a lunch or dinner at hotel's restaurant.
Cons: 1. There wasn't any breakfast buffet. You can order breakfast from the menu but there weren't many choices. 2. It is not a disadvantage but there is really no civilization. So have cash with you and food if you would get hungry, because there are any supermarkets near the hotel.
Pros: The pool, comfortable bed and close proximity to ruins made this repeat stay worthwhile. Reasonable prices at restaurant we thought. All foreign guests which is good to share experiencs.. Well light room with full wall of windows to pool view are great.
Cons: Dispute my being recognized as a multi time visitor the manager would not honor the reduced rate offered to me in my last visit. He had me laboriously take the time to make the reservation over the internet . It was a real hassle and dispute me showing him the confirmation of the reservation he delayed giving us the room key. They wanted to take my phone and produce a copy if the Reservation which I would not allow. No one has ever asked for this! They just don't understand or trust that once you have the confirmation number they are assured payment. They even asked me to pay the full room rate before getting the key. Fortunate for me the relented and gave me the key but the wait with my 95 year old mother who suffered in her wheel chair left a bad taste. It us a great facility but they need ti be educated on how to treat guests. We booked on the internet and the hotel made less money then if they had accepted my offer. We were going ti spend a week but left early and headed back to great, cheap accommodations in Merida. Hope this helps other travelers and hope the hotel learns about how reservation come in. U work in the travel industry and live in Mexico. Thus hotel is good if you need air conditioning and pool.
