very pleasant and clean obviously - owners are very proud of the hotel. Very nicely decorated with historical photos etc. No orange juice with breakfast as we had booked through booking.com
Nothing Yes, the staff members were not very friendly, and the breakfast menu very limited.
A charming hotel with character centrally located with easy access to restaurants, bars and the waterfront. There is no car park and you have to find somewhere suitable yourself which can be tricky. We parked a 5 minute walk away which could be a problem if you have lots of luggage and/or visit in the height of the season.
The hotel was beautifully furnished with artistic touches. Whilst it was an old building, it had all the modern facilities expected such as free wifi and a fridge in room. By English standards, the breakfast was a little basic, but by Spanish standards, I am sure it was more than adequate.
We loved the room we had, the decor of the hotel and the opportunity to use the Terrace (outside), the library/reading room and the living room. We liked its location.
Facilities were good; interesting touches in hotel. Staff not very friendly; breakfast only just adequate though saved by delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. We found free street parking nearby but were lucky - obviously can be difficult.
There was nice attention to detail, e'g' lillies at reception and a small water feature as you arrive, friendly receptionist. The room was clean, has windows you can open, classical period decoration and lots of hot water (good shower). Good location nr harbour and centre of town. Breakfast, was not served until 9am, a bit inconvinient as we had early appointments.
There was a relaxed atmosphere Parking could be a problem
Lovely friendly service from the two ladies that operated the hotel. Beautiful surrounds in a large old mansion like home. The most spectacular breakfast so far on our holidays in Spain - all made by the hosts. A little way out of Cudillero - but within walking distance up the hill. Not applicable.
One of the best hotels that I've ever visited in Spain. Very cosy atmosphere, friendliest staff, extremely beautiful building and wonderful garden around it.
impressive reception area, comfortable room, good air conditioning very poor breakfast in cheap and cheerful surroundings for four star hotel. difficult to find
Receptionist very helpful. Room very clean and comfortable, also public rooms (those used) were comfortable and well furnished. Would probably stay here again although there isn't much in the village so one needs a car. We wanted to stay for breakfast but the breakfast start time was late so we were unable to eat there. Breakfast starting at about 0830 would have suited us better as we had a long drive ahead of us. It's a pity they didn't offer a restaurant service.
Excellent hospitality throughout our stay.Wonderful breakfast, cost extra but well worth it
Thoughtful attention to our every need. An elegant building furnished with character. The breakfast was astounding. We only booked for one night and hated to leave.
This charming inn was a delight and my hostesses were very warm and friendly. It was near a small fishing village with great seafood and on the camino north coast. The hotel had a wonderful breakfast in a lovely dining room featuring all homemade local and traditional foods- unparelled breakfast experience in my experience in Spain! Rooms were well-appointed, clean and decorated nicely. Great value here.. No. Everything was great and this hotel exceeded my expectations.
Beautifully restored old "manor" house, lovely room and great breakfast. Parking in grounds. Would love them to do evening meals
A great deal of thought and effort seemed to have been put into creating a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. It would have been easier for me if the staff spoke better English.
Extremely nice walk, 1.5 km, down to the picturesque town of Cudillo The walk might not suit everyone. Steep footpath into town
The high standard of accommodation and the friendliness of the staff
breakfast was very good, huge, organic and home cooked. The owner was very kind and helpfull. though we had been told there was a very good resturant,it was in fact closed. The owner said she could not find a manager. There are many good resturants in the village, but the one that was closed is said to be the best.
Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent home made breakfasts. Good base for exploring the beaches, fishing port and Picos foothills. Good tapas nearby in Meson Timon. Hotel restaurant closed. The recommended alternative (Isabelle in the main square) was expensive and poor quality.
Spotlessly clean throughout. All staff were helpful, friendly and informative, without their professionalism we would have missed some gems. Maybe having to ask for the room heating to be turned on was a little demeaning, however, once on it was perfect!
The location of he hotel is fantastic and we enjoyed walking up and down the narrow streets and pathways. The staff were great
Room, facilties, breakfast area and breakfast service- the restuarant is really beautiful! Web site indicated that the restaurant was open in the evenings but they were very clear that it was closed. We were however able to eat very nearby at a good choice of restaurants . We do speak some very basic Spanish bit still found it hard to understand all the intructions offered by the receptionist when we booked in! The room key did not work .
A very warm welcome [on a very wet day!] and a spotlessly clean room, with good facilities. The steep flight of steps up to the hotel make it difficult to bring luggage up and would rule it out completely for travellers with physical disabilities.
Very nice room with large and very comfortable bed, lovely setting in the heart of a fishing village. Helpful and cheerful staff. The lack of parking (though understandable and expected) was a little bit inconvenient
visit was very disappointing due to reason below Rock concert started at 11 and went on until 4,30 am which did not make for a good night sleep.! We had intended to stay for two days but cut short the stay and checked out. It is very unfair for the hotel not to allert customers to such events, as the following day of our holdiay was a write off due to tiredness.
We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival, this hotel is such a beauty, superbly designed, we enjoyed every minute of our stay! Hotel staff is very friendly, great breakfast, overall excellent.
good access to the main coast road. Spacious room, nice pool, good breafast. Restaurant was seperate and accross a car park
Our room was very large and comfortable. The view was great, and Cudillero was a short (~20 minute) walk away.
Very pleasant hotel. Very nice big room and nicely appointed bathroom. Good breakfast. Relatively close to town - suggest driving about 5-7 minutes, walking to town is not a good idea especially at night. Request a room not facing the main highway if you want quiteness. Overall very good value for the money we paid. Receptionist didn't speak good English - made it a bit hard to communicate.
good hotel, good breakfast, easy parking, nice rooms , friendly reception thr service in the restaurant and bar could be more friendly. For non smokers it is a terrible place as the door from the seperated smoking room was never closed.
Good facilities, quiet and clean. Easy to find from road. Helpful staff.
Great location for area attractions and nearby restaurant and bars. Swimming pool welcome. Bit too far to walk into Cudillero for evening meals.
Sauna in the spa was excellent. Staff was not very professional and did not speak english well.
A beautiful old building, traditional and comfortable, centrally located. The food in the restaurant was wonderful, and the staff fantastic.
Charming and beautifullly restored hotel in a perfect setting for a quiet holiday. Staff were efficient and friendly.
Authentic Spanish feel to the hotel. Exquisite building and furnishings. Very helpful staff.
The Villa is an old house that has been very tastefully restored. Our room was large, the beds were very comfortable, everything worked well in the bathroom, the large windows opened on to a pleasant view including another period house opposite. The Villa is set on high ground above and to the east of the lovely small town of Luarca, within a 10 minute walk or a 5 minute drive and park. There is a small swimming pool with sun loungers that we used on one afternoon, plus a spa and a weights room. We had 4 very pleasant nights there. During the day it was easy to get to a number of good beaches not far away, or to visit a city like Gijon. Apart from the price, which seemed a little expensive compared with others that we found on this trip, the only small criticism I would make is of the breakfast. At a hotel charging this rate I would expect a proper buffet breakfast instead of the three different types offered. However, if these aren't to one's taste, Luarca has some very good places where you can buy exactly what you want.
LOvely room, beatiful gardens Bit out of the way and hard to find
it was relatively quiet the pool was not available, the gymn was locked, the jacuzi was unavailable
Lovely room with view over town to sea. Helpful staff
Slightly bizarre but fun
The view was spectacular! We loved the natural decor and private balcony. I noted in the Lonely Planet guide that it said the hotel was "ugly". I disagree and thoroughly loved it. All paradors do not have to be historic stone structures! The view far out-weighed the need for utilizing a historic building. I did not like the playground equipment outside the window. It spoiled the natural feel of the mountain view.
Tomas has created a welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful building with stunning views. He has attended to every detail. The excellent evening meals round the package off perfectly.
This hotel is absolutely lovely. It's a newly restored country house that is impeccably tasteful and elegant with a little modern edge. Set among lush hills with beautiful ocean views, it's an absolute gem of a place. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. An added perk: each room comes with a flat screen/dvd player and they offer an amazing selection of moves to borrow. No. It's perfection.
The building itself is superb, finished to an extremely high quality. The views from nearly all windows were glorious. The proprietor was polite and friendly. The food was fresh and superbly cooked. What more can you say. Brilliant.
Thomas the owner was so helpful and accomodating. The food and quality of this place/ experience just fantastic. It is hard to find so they need to provide better directions.Highly recommended!! Hard to find and some distance from the coast and any local village
Excellent location in centre of fishing village, clean rooms and friendly staff
Great comfortable, clean and cosy apartment. The hosts were lovely and friendly as well as being very helpful.
Room was comfortable, but the reception area cramped as was the dining room. Would say more of a pension than a hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful but did not speak any English at all. Thankfully, we did not pay for breakfast which appeared to be a packet of cake (not fresh) and cornflakes. Overall, nice room but nothing special. Cramped reception area and very tiny dining room (also used as an entrance/exit). Room had poor view.
This is the second time that we have stayed here. It is a family-run hotel and very friendly. However, it helps if you speak Spanish. The jacuzzi is an interesting yet welcoming feature after a long walk by the port which is a 3 minute walk away.
Hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room was delightful. Location was perfect, right in the heart of Cudillero.
Friendliness and helpfulness of owners was exceptional - they took us to the railway station when taxis were unavailable. Very good choice of breakfast [which cost extra]
The hotel was very well situated near all the bars and restaurants and well sign posted, the staff were very frienly although speak little english they were as helpful as possible. The hotel was clean and tidy and we would stay there again.
Location near the harbour; ease of access to the room at any time; proximity to variety of restaurants. The rather cramped location of the building with resultant lack of any view from the bedroom window. The slightly cramped bedroom space due to low ceiling height.. This was also the most expensive of the hotels we booked on this trip and probably the least enjoyable.
staff, accommodation and quality of food were all excellent. the "garden" was a small area of overgrown land with broken-down play equipment - not exactly safe or welocming for kids!
A lovely family run hotel. A real gem. Good accommodation and a wonderful restaurant - one of the best meals we had all holiday. Breakfast was great also.
Made to feel very welcome by pleassnt and courteous staff. Excellent food. Smell of cigarette smoke in corridors coming from designated smoking lounge.
The service was above and beyond expectations. The owners were incredibly nice and helpful. The food was beautiful and nothing was too much trouble. I will definately stay here again. No.
This is a gem of a guest house. Magnificent scenery and the owners help with advice to make the most of your atay.Fodd was excellent. There is nothing to do in the evenings but this can be a plus when you have been sightseeing all day.
very helpfull sister owners, with local knowlege and advice for visiting beaches near by as well as major towns breakfast could be more interesting
Very friendly staff; warm welcome. clean! Nicely designed room. Excellent restaurant: good breakfast. We had two eveng meals, both V. good. Good wine list, Mari Mar V. knowledgable about local wines. Also really enjoyed having access to the library. Nice to stay in a building with an interesting history too!
Staff very accomodating. Restaurant excellent. None
We enjoyed the food and presentation of the dining room, the decor, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff No
