Pleasant hotel, close to the facilities we required, clean and pleasant, bathroom adequate and breakfast sufficient. Air conditioning did not produce enough cold, although our friend next door had no problem with his. Noisy when we opened the window.
Easy to find, good parking lot. Clean. Very cheap. Facile trouver, bon parking. Propre. Excellent rapport qualit-prix. Narrow bathroom, bad pillows. Salle-de-bain troite. Oreilliers mdiocres.
Open environment made the outside look bright and airy. Rooms were dimly lit, making it difficult to read maps preparing for the onward journey. 2 pillows per person would have been more comfortable. Better surface on the approach and car park would have been safer as we arrived by motorcycle.
Excellent cuisine.Lovely family room with mezzanine.Beautiful scenery.Welcoming staff.Would definatley return .
Very friendly staff and also an excellent restaurant! We slept near the stairs so the room was a bit noisy.
The staff were very helpful and the rooms were very clean and tidy each day. The menus on offer were excellent with a high standard of presentation and a variety of local produce and dishes available. Excellent wine list too.
Fabulous view from room --so close to all the Cantal valley tour routes-- some roads scary--not the hotel fault-- Wonderful evening meal and wine for the set menu, one of the best regions in France and worth the detour away from the main routes-- will return
Clean room, friendly staff, secure parking at rear.
Although we arrived late and the restaurant was very busy, we recived good service. The hotel is ideally situated for hil/river walking. No
Excellent shower for elderly people. Decor new. Comfortable beds and effective double glazing. Lavatory miniscule and difficult.
Beautiful location. Good value for money. We ate dinner at the restaurant too but when we ordered our wine it was unavailable. We were offered a replacement but when we asked if it was similar price, the waitress assured us it was. When we went to pay on checkout we discovered it was double the price for a very poor wine.
The hotel was ideally suited for sightseeing and was in a beautiful surrounding. The beds were comfortable. WiFi, although advertised was not available - we suspect the owner turned it off. He was not helpful in this regard. We used the hotel next door.
The hotel was easy to find, in a pleasant location. The room was nicely decorated, and the bathroom was spotlessly clean. We ate in the hotel restaurant on the evening of our stay and were disappointed by the meal and particularly by the rudimentary and rather chaotic service. Also when we were given our bill we had been charged twice for dinner.
Helpfull friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Excellent food. A good base to explore the Auverne.
The hotel staff were friendly however the room was disappointing. The bed did not have a headboard which led to disappearing pillows. The showe was almost bigger than the room.
Clean, good sized room. Good restaurant albeit breakfast bit limited No air conditioning so window open overnight-some local traffic noise
Centrally located, free WIFI, good value.
Warm greeting on arrival. Helpful and attentive (but not intrusive) staff. Everything was very 'stylish'. Website said that the rooms were very individual - and they were. Our 'Comfort' room overlooked the courtyard/terrace (bit intrusive having a path right outside your ground floor room window, but the rooms have nets and automatic shutters) and had a brown and cream butterflies theme throughout, with a four poster bed with light net 'curtains'. Even at dinner, the salt and pepper are stylish 'sculptures' of two figures in an embrace. Lovely. Would recommend. Its quite a way from the town centre and, strangely, in a 100% residential area. But perfect for an overnight stop if you are passing through.
Helpfulness of staff and quiet situation out of town Rooma quite small
Simple family hotel. Nice swimming pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are still adequate but will need renovation soon. Location within walking distance of city centre: 30 minutes going to the city, 40 minutes coming back (because of steep hill). Not very convenient, but there is no better alternative. Slightly smelly rooms.
receptionist very helpful &lbuffet breakfast booked a triple(3 beds,) given a double bed + a single. For 3 men. not pleased
A modern, clean and spacious hotel with welcoming staff. It was easy to find and although on the main road into Aurillac was very quiet. Easy to find good places to walk the dog who was travelling with us. Breakfast was ok. It is a short drive to get to the centre of the town for restaurants but other than that the hotel is good value.
Staff very helpful made good recommendation for food locally. Cheap budget hotel ideal as a one night stopover on way South. Good breakfast well presented
Sleeping, after a very long drive from Montpellier Despite directions, finding it in the dark, with two roads with similar names, was an unwanted challenge
Location is pretty as a picture... the true France. The owner is very attentive... excellent in every respect No
This hotel is impecably clean, in a beautiful location and has excellent facilities. It was fairly hard to reach so you need to head to it early in the day. The pool was spotless, staff courteous, and overall excellent value. Everything was perfect.
Location, friendley staff Lack of air conditioning in restaurant and rooms. Room very noisey from road traffic
The rooms were spacious, clean and modern. The bathrooms were very nice. The restaurant was excellent and very reasonable. The spa and fitness area were adequate and children friendly. The location was excellent.
Arrived at 7pm no one on reception but eventually a rude member of staff came and handed us our key. We booked a superior room but were told that the hotel was full so were given a standard room on the main road as last room available, no air-con and because of road noise had to keep windows shut. Also told that the restaurant was full so to walk into town to get food. Overall not a great experience.
Poor Hotel Not Clean, Limited services, Not Tea and Coffee, Cold, Not hot water at night, small room
River setting and helpful,friendly staff.
Everything! Amazing location, Lovely clean, fresh hotel. We stayed in over 20 hotels across Italy and France on our trip and this was the best. Very helpful staff, lovely food and wine, the best pool of our trip and idyllic location. Deserves 4 stars.
The location and the room were wonderful - our room had a view of the bridge which was spell binding. Sadly the restaurant was very disappointing
hotel room quiet at night lot of noise in the swimming-pool area due to unattended children
The staff and the food were both excellent
Friendly and welcoming staff. Good facilities including an excellent swimming pool. A good well appointed restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. A good place for a weekend break.
Nice pool, very large and never full. Parking easy. Food in restaurant good. Room was small. Not possible to use the shower without getting water everywhere. Sauna costs €5 extra, bathrobes cost €5 extra unless staying in a more expensive room. Kettle, tea, coffee, etc have to be asked for at reception - as do toiletaries. Stayed 2 nights and room wasn't cleaned during the stay.
Pleasant staff. Good, if slightly expensive food Room overlooked council yard and local supermarket. Woken at 04.40 for 40 minutes as delivery van noisily unloaded supermarket supplies
Nice staff, clean and efficient service.
the welcome and helpfulness of the manager and all her staff rien
Price performance is very good. The staff was outstanding.
Nice clean hotel with swimming pool. Good food in restaurant. Friendly staff
the room was up to expectations and clean - we had a triple room under the roof, but even in summer the temperature was ok with the window open; the indoor swimming pool looks ok, but the hall needs to be freshened up; the hotel personell was friendly only at one occasion : when we checked out and paid the bill.
Comfortable hotel in a picturesque location. Excellent restaurant. Lack of signage made it difficult to find.
we liked the view of the valley and the surrounding mountains, and the outside terrace. The lack of staff, the size and furnishing of the room and the general grubbiness of the hotel.
Position Room lighting
Comfort of rooms Tried to offer us same table d'hote menu two nights running
The location and setting were absolutely superb. The pool was very clean and the view from the restaurant was stunning Coffee at breakfast was dreadful - a bit quiet for our liking - everyone spoke in whispers
perfect restaurant and swimming pool in nice calm landscape
The hotel was everything we hoped for and the views from the grounds and our bedroom amazing. The food was first class . We enjoyed the fitness centre as the swimming pool unfortunately was closed at this time of year.
sprendid view from the hotel windows and beautiful attendance of the owner of chateau. there were few guests in the hotel due to out of season,so restaurants menu was a bit poor.
the setting and history were exquisite.
The accommodation and setting. Our welcome was very poor. We were not shown our accommodation and had difficulty finding it as there were no available staff and no signs. We were not given any information regarding meals, dining room, or facilities. We did approach the manager in charge with our complaints and he was very pleasant. They did try to make amends but unfortunately the initial impression was very poor and lasted
the care and attention of the propriator and his wife. the comfort and effort made to improve the hotel impressive the meal provided in the evening could be improved although not unacceptable.
The friendly proprietors, the pool and the food provided Proximity of the road
Very helpful, friendly staff. Clean, functional facilities. Good position for ramblers, tourists. Nice swimming pool. Noise of traffic from nearby road.
the couple that own and run the hotel made us feel very welcome from the moment they came out to us as we arrived untill we left food nice rooms nice lots of outside places to sit and relax by the river by the pool nice break
the people were very friendly and everything was clean much noice in the rooms you hear everything from the other rooms the bed was very bad
The staff were all extremley friendly and were very helpful. They also let us leave our case in the hotel for a few days while we travelled and then we stayed there again in a different room ( see reason below). They had a lovely parc to sit in which was part of the hotel. The shower holder was broken so we had to hold the shower head. We mentioned this to the staff when we arrived ( I can speak fluent french) and 24 hours later nothing had been done , so I asked for a key to another room for the 2nd day to have a shower. later that day they fixed it. Also in room 212 ( I think ) the toilet was so close to the door that you could hardly close the door when you sat down..Breakfast was 10 euros which was quite expensive , so we had breakfast in a nearby cafe for 4 euros.
Good location, nice garden.
The outlook from our window of the courtyard and garden; the quietness of the town and hotel; the lift (we both have arthritis and find it difficult getting heavy bags up stairs - we generally stay in France for a month and have quite a bit of luggage). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The fact that we had free parking. No - the food was good, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean - we do have trouble getting into bath, so it would have been better for us if there was a walk-in shower.
Beautiful setting; lovely outdoor dining facilities
The location alone sells this place! It deserves 5 star status for the location alone! Not a huge choice for breakfast but was quickly forgotten about with the views and the driving roads to and from this hotel!
Nice accomodation close to the lac + simple but good food. The lac is reserved for fishing, so no bathing and even no walk way around.
location Lack of ventilation in rooms. Unable to open any windows.
The menu was somewhat limited
The location is great - very relaxing and no traffic noise. The mist on the lake in the morning was magical. Food was basic but plentiful and staff were pleasant and helpful. Twin rooms only had 2ft 6in beds which are quite narrow for adults, although very comfortable. Also, in very warm weather, a window would be a great asset for night time ventilation.
Friendly comfortable Hotel with spacious grounds and beautiful scenery with views overlake and mountain. Accesible walks of every kind. Food is excellent with good servings and interesting choces When the room door is closed at night there is no ventilation, because the night vent is covered by a curtain over the glass of the door. There is no window.Shower has no curtain.
Staff very helpful as we do not speak French, and the food was very good.
position, staff,an excellent visit, will return, have already recommended to family for the summer no
The rooms were very comfortable and the location of the hotel was very nice with great views. We arrived late due to a flight delay and a long journey by car from Bordeaux and the restaurant was closing, although they were kind enough to provide us with a limited menu of very palatable food. The following night when we returned the place was completely shut up with no staff available. We wanted an early check-out and struggled to make ourselves understood and get out of the hotel on time on the final morning.
The hotel was comfortable and in a good location for our journey. The food was good and one of the staff was very friendly and professional Our stay was marred by one extremely unwelcoming member of staff who seemed to resent us staying in the hotel.
Good location and good value for money
Clean rooms, friendly staff, value for money, fabulous location, peaceful atmosphere, wonderful views. Would definitely stay again. No late bar or refreshment facilities,no hairdryer
