clean,friendly personal,very good location
Lovely hotel, great location. The room was a good size and there is a good gym at the hotel. A very good breakfast buffet. I was given a 'city view' room which faces Nevsky Prospect. I asked whether the room might be noicy because of traffic but the staff confirmed it would not be. This was not the case at all, the traffic noice was very audible all through the night. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room facing the courtyard. The service attitude of some staff is not at a five-star level altough other staff members were absolutely lovely - so a bit mixed there. Another small thing to note there was no kettle & coffee in the room which I found suprising for a hotel of this standard.
This hotel ticks all the five star boxes, but what stands out are its staff. They are superb and make you feel genuinely welcome.
Exceptional staff made this jewel shine even brighter.
Excellent location, great service, new and confortable
I liked the best location and the good rate fixed for my stay period of time. Also staff was more than welcome and the hotel facilities are luxury. N/A
the location was great, the stuff were very helpfull and kind, breakfast was very good, room service was very affitionet.
Staff was very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Somebody was heavily smoking on my floor.
Excellent location: walking distance - between 10 and 20 minutes - to most touristic attractions, and two minutes away from the Metro station. Very attentive and courteous hotel staff. Rooms are spatious, confortable and clean. Very expensive comparing to other European major destinations but not expensive comparing to similar hotels in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Very good Lobby, nice but small rooms, very good bed and bath staff. Easy to find. Prices for minibar are crazy (peanuts - 18$ !!!, small bottle of cheap shampain - 140$ !!! Rooms are smaller then on photoes (we stayed at Delux room).
The hotel overall was great, well located for tourist as most of the interesting historical sites and museums are within walking distances or public buses are available right in front of the hotel. There are many good restaurants around the vicinity of the hotel. No
Great location. Good access to bus and metro. Room was clean ans spacious. Excellent buffet breakfast. Contrairement à ce que nous avions lu dans les commentaires des voyageurs (mais peut-être est-ce parce que nous sommes hors saison), était compris dans notre formule le buffet à l'Imperial Room. Abondant, très varié, excellents produits. Very small bathroom.
Everything, and when i come back, i come in this hotel.
spa zone, swimming pool, restaurant, receiption services nothing
Excellent location, near city center and all tourist attractions. Very good SPA is free for hotel's guests. We came to hotel early in the morning, at 7-30. Check-in was very fast.
the Spa the reception did not give enough informations to be a new guest
The spa facilities were excellent and the design of the overall space meant that nothing felt overly large. Having to pay for the spa/pool facilities. It was free from 7-10am which in UK time was 4am to 7am! As we stayed for four days it cost us 4000roubles to swim..
Quality of the room, spa and swimming pool facilities, design and location. The food was terrible in the 24 hour bar.
This hotel is a perfect place to enjoy the wonderful city St. Petersburg. There is one small disadvantage: the hotel is located on an island. During best night hours (for night-birds) the bridges to the main part of the city are not passable.
The standard of the hotel was very good. The quality was very good which made the time spent there very relaxing.
Hotel itself is very nice, new and well designed with contemporary interiors. Staff are helpful (by Russian standards) Location is not very central and there is not much outside the hotel. It's a 10-15 mins walk to the centre. I was planning to use taxis but unfortunately taxi drivers overcharge tourists and the minimum fare even for a short hop over the bridge was 500 Roubles (gb£10). The hotel doormen were not at all helpful in helping us get a fair deal and I think the hotel management should do something to ensure that guests can easily have a taxi at a fair price. We ended up walking all the time which gets tiring considering how much walking is involved in sight seeing and museum visits. Beware: if you plan to be out after 1am ask staff about bridges closing at night or you will be out all night!!
The hotel was modern with an excellent breakfast, spa facilities and pool. The rooms were clean and confortable. The hotel is in the center of the attractions with a English speaking friendly staff. The resterant served excellent food. This is Russia and you have the some of the old Soviet attitudes still lingering but it is moderated by the customer driven attitude Solo Sokos is known for and with time will improve.
the saunas were the best on earth. The staff was great and breakfast very good. Not a five star hotel but a four except pool/saunas/Jacuzzis which were worth the trip and stay alone Location in between Metro stop. Long walk to any transportation. Taxis were thieves
nothing to complain about , very good and always look forward to staying . looking forward to log fire downstairs ,it was not on ,oh well next time
Location was fantastic. Nice and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Although very good hotel, a bit expensive. And breakfast was not included...
Rooms were spacious!!! Very nice rooms! Was very bad service in breakfast! Much too expensive, better to eat someplace outside for better price and better quality!
Location Breakfast is not included in the room rate
Comfort and the place where it situated
Unbeatable location, just off Nevskij Prospect, close to Hermitage and the river. We stayed in a standard room which was quite stuffy, it had a window but not one that could be opened so zero air and the room was sauna hot. When you stay in a standard room you also don't get access to their sauna/jacuzzi - just in the morning until 11am - after that it's only accessible to guests staying in higher room categories so if anyone is thinking of staying here avoid the standard room and get the deluxe room.
The position of the hotel is excellent, some of the personnel was very friendly and tried to help, the tours organised by the concierge desk were excellent. The rooms are rather noisy. We could clearly hear the guest in the adjacent room. Cleanness of the rooms was fine, but could be improved.
Walls very thin not enough electric points for shavers/mobile phones
The location is good. very close to all the museums. This hotel got 4* name obviously because os bribe. Otherwise I do not understand how this hotel can be considered as 4*. Maximum 3*. The rooms are tiny and dark, room service starts cleaning the room at 7.30-8.00 what I find absolutely ridiculous especially on weekends when guests are sleeping. Room service was very noisy disturbing hotel guests resting in the room.
hotel's location is great. staff is anglophone and willing to help. room was large and clean. walls were very thin; we could here people next door talking. window of our room was up high and sealed so we neither could have fresh air nor see any view.
The location of this hotel is simply outstanding, a minute walk from Nevsky Prospect and five minutes from Admiralty/Winter Palace/Hermitage. Wonderful location, without a doubt the best part of staying here, however the hotel itself is a warm and comforting hotel as well, with an amazing Sky Bar on the 7th floor looking out over St. Petersburg. Very conveniently you can order taxis through the concierge service and they will charge this to your room bill so you don't have to worry about stumping up cash when you need to head to the station or back to the aiport. However their fares are much higher than standard city taxis. As a comparison it cost us 700 RUB from the airport (17km) and 800 RUB from the hotel to the station (5 mins!). Much more convenient, however much more pricey.
Location is very central to Saint Petersburg, all around appearance is pleasant, nice bar and restaurant. Breakfast is not included in room rates, Internet is charged extra and is expensive. For the price of the room you would expect a bit more
Excellent location. The staff is not well-trained. The room does not worth such a huge price. Internet is very expensive. The interior looks cheap. There were no bathrobes (5* hotel).
Really close to the Moskovskaya train station; good price for St. Petersburg. - When we arrived the hotel hadn't received the reservation from booking.com; Air conditioning in the rooms wasn't working and temperatures were pretty high; water on toilets smelled fish.
specially for business trips - breakfast should be erlier as 07:00AM
I liked the hotel staff and the location of the hotel. The room was very cozy. The room wasn't cleaned in time.
I had some discussions re wifi with one of te receptionists who was rather rude! but it was solved to my complete satisfaction by Alexander. Bed was super comfortable cupboard in room too small for a couple staying 6 nights.
The location is close to the railway station, but anyway, rather far from all main attractions. Breakfast is quite various. Terrible noise of air-conditioner made both of us, my wife and me have head ache. And even if we switched it off, nothing changed. Reception staff was a bit out of adequacy and not friendly. One evening we came back to the hotel closer to midnight and security asked for my room key, i shown it to him, after that he watched my wife in kind of strange way and asked her same question. Ok, maybe he just did his job, but don't they think it looked like meddling in my private life? Wasn't it enough to watch only my key and let us, tired and frozen after long walk go in our room in peace, without bothering also my wife? So, we had a very distressing impression then.
Polite staff and clean room. A splendid summer terrace. A magnificient view and a convinent location to improve noise insulation in rooms
The breakfast was good and the view from the breakfast room was beautiful. Value for money was good. The hotel looks a bit dark, lobby and hallways. It is a big hotel. Easy to reach by metro and walking, but further from the centre than other hotels.
A good hotel in the center of the city with wonderful panoramic windows overlooking the symbol of the Russian Revolution - the cruiser "Aurora" and the main river of the city - the Neva. Friendly staff. Frugal breakfast. Usually in other hotels of choice food more.
Breakfast was good. We were put in an old room with rust water coming from the fasset at first, however it was changed to new remodeled room upon request. New room was good, clean, nice view, but no safe box.
view on Neva from our room the girl at the reception can be friendlier it is their job
very nice location of the hotel, wonderful view from the window. very good breakfast, friendly personnel The building needs renovation , especially plumbing to remove bad odor and water leakage from the shower door. we would prefer softer mattresses also.
The telephone number in the room, lift, breakfast, bankomats, souvenirs in vestibule of the hotel It was very cold in the room. The hotel isn't situated near the underground. The cost of the number was changed and the stuff want receive new payment when I leave at hotel. But when I arrived about changed the cost of number the stuff nothing say.
The city and river view from the rooms facing the Neva river is just excellent.
Brilliant river view from the window! best in city staff is absolutely unfriendly. No hairdryers.
Gorgeous night river view with lightened erected bridges Personell may improve their english
Very kind view from the window to Saint-Persburg historical center epecially to river Neva. You can see the famous view with drawbridges at night from room. Internet, TV, breakfast, decoration, personal, safety - all need to be improved. Nowhere I see about 200 people around table in seach of any food at breakfast time.
Friendly, clean, historical hotel. Excellent location by the river.
Nice hotel, not far from the city center. Probably too expensive without special offers. At least breakfast is 3-4 times expensive than in cafes 3 mins away. Rooms are neat and furniture is new. Ask for a room on the highest floor to enjoy the beautiful view - Sokos appeared to be one of the highest buildings in the area
superb interior and comfort nothing I suppose
I liked everything but the price. breakfast was too expensive.
Wireless internet included in price. Good breakfast. Good air conditioning of the room. Good bed. They have to include price of the breakfast in the price. Lack of TV programs.
Nice Finnsih quality Hotel
The bed and spa The location!
I liked the design of the restaurant, especially the fireplace. The food was excellent. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The only small minus, not all menu dishes were available.
My room (on the 7th floor) was quiet, had an opening window and was not too hot. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept very well. As my stay was during 'White Nights', the thick curtains were appreciated! Room fittings are tasteful and high quality. The spacious 'Provencal' style restaurant/bar area is relaxed and cosy - good selection of tasty dishes to suit all appetites and... No complaints!
My family stayed there for one week. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is conveniently located close to the Metro, just two stops from the Nevksy Prospect. You can get to Nevskly Prospect in 15-20 minutes by metro or in about 45 minutes by walking. The hotel staff was very helpful and they talked good english. The room was very clean and spacious. Compared to other hotels in St Petersburg, this was reasonably priced. The free wireless access was very convenient. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was quite expensive, so we ended up not getting it.
The dining facilities were convenient and well presented with pleasant and helpful staff. Ambience good. The sink in the bathroom did not drain well so it was hard to get any hot water to shave.
Top service, location We didn't get the room we booked. The prices were untransparent.
You feel ourself like a tsar! Great service in the hotel, very good sommelier in restaurant Taleon. Beautiful swimmingpool with great view. You feel that it cost more then you paid. nothing
Exceptionally good service, decor, comfort, cleanliness and efficiency. All staff friendly and helpful. Very good location. First rate hotel taxi service to and from the airport. This is probably one of the best hotels in Europe if not the world. -
location is fine - price is too high overpriced
Hotel staff was wery friendly and changed the booked room for a larger one without any charges. We enjoed our staying there very much. Everything was excellent.
Service is very good. The hotel is extremely beautiful and really worth to spend time there. I highly recommend this amazing hotel.
I like it it was really good close to everything difnetly I well come back , see I'm from Emraits we do have 5 sarts & 7 starts hotel so I know what i'm saying . Nothing to say
The staff was unfailingly pleasant, friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and well furnished, if smaller than other hotels of a similar standard in major cities. There was no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
The staff shows absolute incompetence as far as client satisfaction is concerned
the room are to small. facilities does not match 5 star hotel.I am totaly dispointed. size of room and room facilties ver poor.No swimming pool. no coffe machin in room.
It has an excellent service!
We lived in a very quiet room with a good view of Vasilie Island. The hotel is close to the Winnter Palace and the Metro. The beds are not comfortable. They are too soft.
Spacious room (for St.Petersburg), soft comfortable beds, LCD TV with numerous channels, wifi internet is quite fast, complementary drinks for guests central conditioning that can't actually provide comfort temperuture during sleep (rather hot) and window won't open (no handle). Too hot blankets for current weather.
You actually offered better rooms than we had booked. The staff was friendly and tolerant with children. The hotel was at walking distance for the main sights.
Stayed for 4 nights. Very comfortable rooms, modern and clean, beds were very good. Friendly staff with good english. No problems. Helpful with visa support. Good location. Not in the centre where it's touristic and busy, but in a quiet location and easy to walk to the centre. Right by the river. Only used the hotel for sleeping, never ate breakfast there or anything so can't comment. Didn't particularly like that the double bed, was two twins pushed together, the gap in the middle was annoying. One morning there was no hot water for showers, but this was fixed by the afternoon. No idea if this is a recurring problem. Rest of the time it was fine.
Third time we have stayed here, enjoy it every time we stay here. good value for money. Friendly helpful staff. good location close to great shopping and near to tourist attractions.
Lack of toiletries
Clean, very good room, good service
I liked our bed) nothinghttp://www.booking.com/review/a93af21870730bb7.en.html?label=review_im;aid=304142
Good location near the city center. The staff was mostly friendly. The room was clean and everything in it worked fine. Bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows available. The double bed was just two beds pushed together. The gym was under renovation and no information was given about that beforehand.
Excellent, professional staff. Very courteous and helpful wit requests. breakfast buffet was splendid and with plenty of choices. The made-to-order omelettes were delicious! The room was clean and comfortable. This hotel is located to many excellent attractions and is a very good choice for exploring the beautiful city of St. Petersburg. Highly recommended!
Absolutely fantastic, lovely hotel, helpful staff, clean, cosy rooms and good location next to the river. Don't worry about getting around, the concierge can order you city taxis which are very reasonable and the hotel is within walking distance to the fortress, Hermitage and centre.
It's the 4 Seasons)) This is an odd criticism I know, but Russia can be cold and sometimes it's nice to stay in and watch a movie. I had never heard of the movies available for rent (they all looked pretty bad) so I looked them up. The reviews of most were like 'basically unwatchable' and not one of them was a movie that anyone would actually want to watch. They were all made in English, which I also thought was unusual.
Very good location, near the underground. Some rooms are after capital repairs and they are ok, but my one was old-fashioned, so I didn't like it. Breakfast was rich. Old-fashioned rooms.
For a person who did not speak any Russia they are excellent with communication in English - the hotel is very elegant in the entrance and they are very helpful. Lovely place to stay and see St Petersburg. NO
location in he center of SPb,good renovation
It was good combination of location and service for that money I'd like receptionists would be friendly sometime
Location: metro, supermarket, nice vieuw (stayed on the 8th floor river side) Breakfast was ok. Quite large room and bathroom (double comfort room). Check-in procedure took too long. Internet is quite expensive– you can better go to McCafe next door, take a nice coffee and use free WiFi. One of the days airco was not working (+37c outside) in whole hotel, fortunately they fixed it late in the evening ( after many complains). I would expect some personal care kits in the bathroom for this price – at least some shower gel, it was almost nothing there. However location of the hotel is convenient, it is located above huge roads so is very noisy even with the window closed. Don’t think I would stay in this hotel again.
At Pyb.4320 (EUR.105) for 2 nights including breakfast, this hotel is/was for Russian standards very cheap and excellent value for money. There is for me in the future no reason to go to other hotels in St.PB costing EUR.200-250 for nearly better quality. From outside you fear an old fashion Soviet-Union boring hotel, but inside all is new and very clean. My room was small but it was enough and the matrass was excellent. Empty minibar. Why? I could not wash myself because water in bath was brown ... that needs to be dealt with.
The room I rented was very silent and comfortable The hot water for bath-tub was yellow and smelled poorly
Good value for money hotel. Breakfast buffet has enough choice and flexible hours. It was very busy, as there are always busses passing through as well.
breakfast, restaurant small room and bathroom
Nothing Comfort rooms are not in the main new building but in the old one (4story offices building, very old, scuffed, maximum no stars at all). Awful spring bed. Yellow water in the bathroom. No WiFi at all. The worst I've ever seen...
Everything is ok!
Availability of WIFI Inadequate lighting in the room and non availability of fridge.
Breakfast Not clean water
On arrival we were upgraded to an apartment room with a huge bedroom! That was really nice, breakfast is really good, the choice is very wide, although the variety of food could be more different everyday, but still this hotel a good value for money. Hotel is situated not close to the metro station, nearest is about 10 min walk. It was my 4th time staying in Azimut and i will go there again, because its the cheapest good accomodation in the city with good breakfast and friendly staff. If you have more money, kindly advise you to book Business room, Comfort room is more simple and furniture is different. Bathrooms must be upgraded.
The breakfast Hot water is brown! No air conditioner.
Good rooms, good location, nice restrant I thing bath is to old - from soviet union time
Rather nice Sky bar on the 17th floor. There is some smell on the first floor and red carpets.
