The Castello was charming and tasteful and located in a setting that was so bucolic and beautiful as to almost seem unreal. A memorable stay.
The location of the hotel was fantastic, set in a castle with its own vineyard. The rooms were very large and well decorated and equipped. The hotel provided great views from the pool. There is a wine shop on site and a wine museum. I believe the staff are the owners and they were all very helpful and attentive. The breakfast was excellent. Overall this was a really great place to stay and left you with the feeling of having stayed somewhere very special.
The family is wonderful. We arrived after midnight and when we finally were able to locate them they graciously came right over and helped us into our room. This is a wonderful location to use as a base to explore the Piedmont area. The rooms are very beautiful and comfortable. The grounds are lovely and there is a gorgeous swimming pool. The Relais is also a winery where we had a great tour and wine tasting. Breakfast is included and it was delicious. We can't wait to come back and stay longer!
It was a spectacular location. Very quite and relaxing and I felt rather special staying there. There was no bar, however wine from the winery was on sale. There was also no restaurant on site and you had to drive to the nearest one.
The Hotel is really good. Everything was perfect. I liked everything: staff, breakfast, room with a nice view, very clean, very confortable, nice bathroom. Great.
Nice, relaxed and wonderful surroundings. We loved the size and style of the Maxi Suite.. Wonderful pool area.
fantastic location & pool
the location, the wine, the building and the people....very gentle and authentic! breakfast
Great location! staff excellent
The staff is awesome and the rooms and hotels grounds are very very nice
Nice, cozy, friendly, quiet. We were in Cocconato for three days, the staff was very helpful and friendly. We were traveling with a little child, who really enjoyed his stay, and was treated like a king. The food is excellent. The room comfortable, well furnished and well equipped.
very nice small hotel in heart of city, near Torino, perfect for a few days in Piemonte very small breakfast, no good bakery products
The best Italian breakfast I have ever had. Their own make of Vermouth Classico
It was incredibly beautiful -- both the town and the historic building the hotel is in. The staff is soooo nice and speaks English, even remembers little things you liked the day before. The food was some of the best I've had in my life. It was a little hard to find -- get gps! The bell tower tolls every hour starting at 7am!
This locanda deserves its high rating. We found the owners to be helpful and hospitable. We stayed in a Junior suite (choose that as its marginally more expensive than a standard double). The room was very large with beautiful views over the valleys. Condition of the room and bathroom was excellent. We suggest you book for dinner. The food both for dinner and breakfast is of a very high standard. In fact after 4 weeks in Italy, I nominate the tagliolini with summer truffles as one of the best dishes I have had in Italy. It was sublime. The chef is obviously a master of pasta making. We would highly recommend this hotel for a weekend away in montferrato wine country.Lunch in the local trattoria was also excellent. The internet reception was not very good in the room, but we understand it works in the lounge area. Be aware that you need a car as this hotel is in a hilltop town, 30 kms from Asti.
The food, room, view, lounge, area, etc. All wonderful.
Food at dinner especially was excellent and so was wine. Breakfast was very good too. Location was beautiful. Room was very basic. Walls were simply rendered, not painted and ensuite was a cubicle built into the room. Ok for students - but not the type of accommodation I was looking for. Pool was not open despite it being warm enough (especially for English visitors!)
