Madame thomas was a top hostess, the room was very chic, bed very comfortable, great view Air con would have been a plus
Amazing design and wonderful hostesses and best massages...
The kindest staffs and a luxurious hotel in the small mountain village. But you should have car and take 20 min to get there. No
A nice spacious room, a lovely breakfast, a fabulous view and very kind staff. The location is quite isolated.
Cas'anna Lidia is a lovely place in the mountains. We liked our room and bathroom very much! The staff was also very helpful and friendly. Check out the pizzabistro on the corner of the street.
very romantic place set in a small village, our room was beautiful, spacious, overlooking the pool and garden, very generous sweet breakfast, big parking space and a wonderful little water spring (water tasted so good)
Extremely nicely decorated new hotel (modern, but still warm and home-like) in a romantic environment. Clean and good beds and shower. The breakfast with a fixed assortment of bread, jam and cheeses and daily changing fresh juice, fruit and sweetmeats and the way it was served were gorgeous. Personnel and owner were friendly, caring and polite. It didn't feel like a hotel at all, but rather like an unexpectedly inherited villa. Good base for making walks and visiting the Balagne/Route des artisans. By car (you need one!) it is about 30mins to Ile Rousse or 40mins to Calvi. After we left, we felt homesick for this hotel.
This is a new "Chambre d'Hote" with only five rooms. Everything is done in good taste and the views from the bedrooms across the valley are lovely. The lady proprietor is absolutely charming and very helpful. Breakfast on the terrace, taking in the view, was delightful. Calvi is about half an hour away by car, otherwise there are a couple of places to eat in the village of Felicito or about 10 minutes' drive away in nearby villages. We would definitely stay here again, given the opportunity.
Spectacular location and stylish hotel, the service could not have been more helpful. Room very comfortable.
The view, the lovely breakfast on the terrasse, the friendly staff, the beautiful room and fresh air - and the sweet little black dog!
Wonderfully decorated rooms, great location in a small charming village 15 km from the sea, nice and friendly staff The breakfast could have been a little more abundant.
Style and elegance for a reasonable price is what sets Mare e Monti apart from other corsican hotels. Located in the picturesque mountains it's a perfect place to escape the crowds of main holiday resorts. Wifi works properly only meters from the reception desk.
The location of the hotel in a small village at the end of a valley below 2000 metre mountains, still capped with snow in early Spring was fabulous. It wasn't a dislike but it is worth noting. We stayed in early April before the tourist season had really started. The hotel restaurant was not operating and the nearest place to dine was about 15 kms away. If we wanted any choice we needed to drive to L'Ile Rousse or Calvi which were 20 and 30 kms away respectively. At night on the narrow windy mountain roads it was a tricky drive. The village only had a small bar with coffee (and pastries for breakfast). However in the main tourist season there would be many choices for dining and the 'escape' to the quietness of the village would be a real bonus. We had a double room with bath. The bed was small, there was only one bedside light and the room felt a bit sparse.
Ok but small room people starting chain saws in felicetu at 6:00 AM
Well renovated and preserved old mansion, beautifully done. The weather.
front desk staff spoke english and were helpful the room had a bad odor that they could not remove.
Very good hotel, within a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Rooms were very clean with excellent air conditioning. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Great location - by beach, close to supermarkets. Clean with excellent air conditioning.
shot way to an excellent beach, short way to the city, the balcony and the view, the room was redecorated in nice colours I did not like the ants biting me during the night. I had read bites all over my body when I came home. You must get rid of these beasts. It was really (and still is) unpleasant. My rating below are given as if the ants was not there
Nice concept of design: individual entry to each room, large room (huge by French hotels standards), large private parking place, relatively close to the beach, internet access, late check-in posible, large balcony (ours facing the sea), next door building self-operated washing machines and bakery shop open from 07.00 - a miracle for sleepy Corsica, two supermarkets at 3, respectively 5 minutes walk, two gas stations with washing facilities at same distance Internet acces limited to reception desk area. Very low band.
We enjoyed our stay at Calvi Hotel. It's nice, clean. Very close to the beach. The personnel is friendly and helpful.
the room was large and comfortable If you arrive after 10.30pm you have to pick up your keys from another hotel and hope everything is fine with your room. we got in at 11pm with 28 degrees outside, the AC was set to 18! No elevator, with a baby they put us on the last (2nd) floor.
The view and position. Staff were very helpful.
very close to the sea (with beautiful beach), free parking the interieur of the room was a little bit old
Good sea view, friendly staff Expensive Internet
There's an outdoor swimming pool, but no bathrobes and slippers and big towels. The Room was clean, renovated. Free parking. Is definitely not worth the money we payed. The room was small, from the early morning we could hear all the sounds in the corridor and the hall, conversations of the guests going down the stairs. The breakfast was rather poor. The hotel is 800m from the city-centre.
everything was perfect... tout était parfait... :) No, non... :)
Excellent reception and service
From our terrace we enjoyed fantastic views to a small and beautiful beach in front of the hotel. Fantastic sunset with the evening light giving a very beautiful view of the citadel. Room was big, comfortable, and nice
Great and very styleful place - especially garden and building are impressive!
This was the nicest place we stayed in during our 5 week trip! The staff was helpful, the rooms were large and luxurious, and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend it!
We had booked a room with a view of the sea but were initially given one with no sea view. The hotel was able to correct this mistake. The breakfast was too expensive, so we had breakfast out of the hotel.
Attractive old building converted to Hotel. Quiet rooms. Pleasant staff.
Very Nice breakfast, bathroom was spacious and nice- aircon did work as it should- very nice garden area. Great location near city center and beach. Good parking area next to hotel. Ok- I know we are in France- but a little more english knowlegde would be fine.
Very helpfull reception, easy booking process including cancellation. Expensive breakfast
Beautiful room (quiet and with a large bed!!), nice bathroom and clima. rich breakfast but very expensive! There isn't the restaurant in the hotel.
Rel. low costs at very best Quality. The best Hotel out of 7 at our Journey. Very recommendable! Bocked due to bocking com guest evaluation.
The staff were very pleasant, the room was beautiful. One would feel a bit intimidated if returning from the nearby beach covered in sand. However, for a night or two just to see the sights of Calvi, this hotel is perfect. Only a few minutes' walk from the waterfront with all its restaurants. There is also a delightful garden area to sit out in under the palm trees. Lots of notices in the room along the lines of "don't do this" or "don't do that"
Great Location and setting. Just between beach and town.Great breakfast and gaden for a drink before you headed out in the evening None really
Excelent position in town well appointed room with avery helpful and friendly staff
the window-lock was wrong. We asked to repair it at the reception but we had no follow-up on this. the walls of the room were not completely clean
its in the middle of the old town the wifi doesn't works really; the very beautyfull restaurant bar at 5th floor with the panoramic view has only very restricted open times; breakfast is really poor
Hotel is in city center - close to shops, beach, port. Always same breakfast - and only sweet one. Quite noisy enviroment. No fridge or table in my room.
Very quiet, central hotel close to downtown, very friendly, nice staff, clean rooms Very old hotel, old rooms need to bee renovated to keep its three stars, the price was expensive due to standard, we stayed at many other three stars hotel in corse who had a much nicer atmosphere and standard, expensive and not very great breakfast but great view!
Great location right in the middle of the City. Rooms were airy and clean. Check in at 3pm was too late
Nice view from the hotel terace. No parking.
The location Were given a very smoky room despite requesting non smoking
Convenient location for our purposes and helpfulness of staff.
The hotel is located in the centre of the town and very convenient to shopping, bus, railway, restaurants and the harbour.
excellent.young staff professional, smiling, and friendly.very good relais et chateau this hotel deserve one star michelin . breakfast too expensive !!!!!
The room with a jacuzzi and sea view, swimmingpool, hamam There is a rather noisy road just in front of the hotel, the entrance for the car is very steep
Staff very friendly and helpful Horrendouse decor.
We found the false information re: beach photo, looking to be at hotel, not near to hotel! Also pushy staff too aggressive to sell drinks by the pool. The staff member kicking the hotel dog, and the male shuttle driver not answering to a woman, last time I checked Corsica was part of France, not a Middle Eastern country treating women as second class citizens.
Liked the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, table tennis and bowels. Good breakfast. Very pleasant and attentive staff. Nice room with good decor, balcony and view Would like some extra choices for evening snacks, E.G. wraps, salads, deserts - fruit, ice cream.
A very good hotel in a quit surrounding.Impression on arrival : to far from Calvi , but the free shuttle until midnight makes all the difference..Really worth a stay. Good breakfast buffet, better than in many hotels. The tiles around the swimming-pool are dangerously slippery
Stayed at Best Western Corsica for one night prior to flying out very early next morning. Enjoyed our brief stay. It was comfortable, clean and very quiet. Would certainly return. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Bedrooms, view, overall cleanliness Located too far from town despite free shuttle, no lounge bar, breakfast too expensive/coffee awful, chambermaids noisy at 7am banging doors etc. Not good value, at this price you expect better facilities.
Pool; Navette to Calvi; Quiet & efficient; High price of incidentals (e.g. expresso coffee 3 pounds); Breakfast not included despite high room rate, no alternative possibility for 2km; Beach area associated with hotel poor standard with poor facilities
The hotel is quietly situated in foothills close to the pretty town/port of Calvi. It is very accessible. The hotel is set to enjoy views of the fortress at Calvi and the surrounding hills. The rooms are well maintained and the quality throughout befits its 4* rating. All the staff are helpful and bi-lingual on recpetion The breakfast was mediocre given its price of 15E and for the rating of the hotel
Beautiful spacious room and great view to the sea and piscine. Very helpful friendly staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner.
Great location and helpful staff. We arrived right at 10 PM and the front desk manager made sure we were seated for dinner. Lovely rooms and beautiful views of the Bay of Calvi and surrounding country. Perfect outdoor terrace. .
The room was of a modern design, spacious with beautiful colours and the bed was big and confortable. The bathroom was big cleen. Excellent service. The price of the one star michelin restaurant. Very expensive. And (this applies to corse on general) thé car is not an option its a must.
It was a very clean smart and stylish place to stay. Staff were very helpful. There was no choice to eat a reasonably priced meal - locally there were no restaurants and there was only a very expecsive dining optiop at the hotel
cleanliness and friendliness of staff twin bedded room not available although we were willinglyaccomodated in a suite / family room instead .
Comfort Position near the main road, price for food
I liked about everything, in fact. The personell was very helpful and friendly. Food and wine of very good quality. Lovely room-service and breakfast on our terrace, with a fantastic view of the mountain tops. We were not received by anybody in fact, when we came. It gave a bad first-impression, and we started to "fume" a little. (It seems everybody is doing a little of what is necessary, and there was a lot of guests in the dining room.) They should improve on that, we did tell them when we would arrive. I would also have like to have some sort of transport service, to go to Calvi now and then. it would make it possible to stay longer at Charles. Because of the distance to Calvi, we now split our stay between two hotels. Also provide some walking routes/maps?
New and modern hotel, very stylish with large rooms. Staff were good. There was no place to hook the shower handset so you have to hold it while you shower and sit in the bathtub (it doesn't stretch to standing height!) Also, no toilet roll holder, just a roll of toilet paper. Very strange to have a new facility without such basics. Restaurant very expensive so didn't try as the menu was not appealing.
The room was near the street, therefore it was impossible to get sleep with a open window
Had a great stay. It was a bit of a walk to the city center but the view from the hotel was just stunning. The chef was very friendly. The room was decent size, very clean and modern looking. We spent evening watching the sunset which was beautiful. The breakfast for 10 euro was quite a lot for one person. Overall recommend the place.
Very comfortable clean and friendly hotel.Very close to quay, shops, resteraunts etc. Only breakfast served. Rooms at front of hotel can be a bit noisy.
Great location, really close to the city center and 5 m walkink to the beach, great staff and the room was very confortable. Could have a handle to the shower, was kind of uncomfortable to take a bath holding the shower.
The service received at Hotel Le Rocher was excellent, nothing seemed too much trouble. Ideally situated in the town close to the port & all the restaurants.
Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms Small rooms, poor beds
Very Nice, Very Clean, Very sympatical Managment
excellant locarion. relaxing,friendly staff, no
Well positioned, well-appointed. Balcony to every room. Very comfortable. Breakfast a bit expensive in comparison to those available at harbour- side restaurants.
so clean .aircond.super. most comfortable bed. the breakfast is not to be missed ////. such a range and all very fresh.
Very friendly and helpful manageress who made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. She arranged car parking at a sister hotel and a room upgrade which was a pleasant surprise on arrival. Daily cleaning of room was excellent. None.
A very clean hotel with a high standard of decor and furniture. The hotel staff were extremely polite and helpful. It was also very quiet, but at the same time in a part of old Calvi which was perfect for shopping, eating and visiting the beach and ferry port. A very pleasant experience. Hard to find any fault although breakfast seemed an expensive extra.
