Very nice and clean hotel just at the beach - very helpfull english speaking host and personel. - good restaurants nearby at the promenade - very few foreign tourists in area.. Only problem could be the 1-1½ hour drive from Volos over Pelio mountain to the hotel.
Location is very good! The rooms were small, bathrooms very small. Overpriced for what it offered if one excludes the location. Expensive prices for refreshments, coffees served at the bar, umbrellas at the beach.
Anything described in the Sofoklis Hotel profile is not true. The hotel is not alone on the beach but is a part of the main street hotels' line in Agios Ioanis. The cleaness of the room was very poor. The whole room's interior was in bad condition, not renovated at least several years. We were very disappointed and left the hotel as quick as possible.
Great service by everyone.
Excellent, spacious room with tremendous view. Highly recommended. The matrix was too soft for me and hurt my back. But this is just a personal preference.
Pleasantly surprised by the excellent location, service, food exceptionally good, excellent place for both business and private and very helpful and friendly personnel. Many thanks to the manager Leonidas for being as sweet as the bonbons with the same name.
The rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated, ideal for a long stay. Great bathrooms also. The hotel itself is amazing and at a good location for mountain hikes, walks, etc. Nice outdoor pool for summer. Excellent Service. The variety of the breakfast could improve, given the price of the hotel. There are views but the layout of the rooms does not allow you to enjoy them much.
That we lived practically in the middle of woods, beautiful swimming pool, wondreful tennis courts overlooking the sea, very kind and helpful staff, we felt as a part of their community.
The room was tight and comfortable, the staff very kind and helpful, at an amazing location! Unfortunately Spa was booked
Friendly staff, nice breakfast, convenient location, spacious rooms, good price
Very peaceful location with staff prepared to help when asked. Nice and quiet, even for the busiest time of the year. Somewhat disorganised for the price and subsequent organisation expected.
First of all, the director of the hotel was extremely helpful in all aspects. He provided us with better information about the local environment than the local tourist information center. The hotel fits perfectly into the structure of the whole area with many isolated houses. The rooms are really luxurious and fit the description of the hotel. The hotel offers a good tennis court and even provided us with rackets and balls, a pool and a spa. However, due to our limited time, we did not use the latter and cannot report on the quality. The breakfast and the dinner were excellent. The environment offers opportunities to swim in the ocean (about 6-8 km) and hiking at various locations. The staff was very friendly. Everything in the hotel was very good for us.
Excellent position with amazing view, beautiful room, very kind and friendly stuff, superb spa and restaurant (the best food we had in Pillio). We want to say a big thanks to the manager for the superb accommodation we had.
The location is incredible ~ right on the beautiful blue beach of Agios Ioannis. The family that owns and runs the hotel is very nice and acommodating. The screen on the bathroom window was broken allowing bugs to get in. The bathroom window would not close and lock at all since the entire window frame has warped over time. Breakfast could be better.
The location is excellent, a few steps from the beach. Tavernas are very close, with big variety. Our room was very spacious, with nice design, excellent bed (Cocomat!). The girl at the reception is very helpfull. Inexistant breakfast (cold boiled eggs, no hot water for tea -we had to ask for it !!!- no fruits etc). Room without window shade -our baby was waking up at sunrise!. For the price (more than €100/night) I was waiting for much more, maybe there is good intention but not a good result after all. You feel like they are amateurs (family business but not very efficient). Luck of cleaning personel. No wifi in the rooms, poor TV reception, no international channels.
We found the staff rather stand-offish and not nearly as hospitable as all the other places we stayed in during our month in Greece. Also, my friend had her gold watch taken from our room whilst we were at the beach one afternoon.
Next to a beautiful beach, near restaurants and mini markets. Great view from the balcony. There was no way to keep the room shading. The curtain was almost transparent and there was no shutter. We had to wake up at 9 because of the sun. The personnel did not help us at all on this issue.
