The views no matter were you were within the real state. Room was excellent. Palomino Island was outstanding, beautiful and majestic. Jet ski and horseback riding a great amenities during the stay. Parking is a nightmare for visitors driving there on their own. Parking lighting may be even considered dangerous for first timers. Reported an incident at the front desk and told me that the concierge would take care of it in the morning, not even a call. Three days later I reminded them about the issue and nothing. At check out, I reminded them for the third time and the lady took care of it in seconds. Service is a 3/5.

The location was great, the views were great and palomino island was pretty cool. everything was overpriced and low quality. Let me clairfy: 1. Ate at two of the resort restaurants and paid 200 bucks for frozen fish while we were right on the Caribbean. 2. The resort itself was not well maintained (closed/vacant buildings, closed/vacant pathways, aging ferries etc.) 3. The "convenience" store which sold various groceries was comically overpriced. 25 bucks for a bottle of 5 dollar yellowtail, come on. I ended up driving 5 minutes to the local CVS and spending 5 bucks on a six pack. 4. Valet took at least 30 minutes to get your car. 5. Weird credit card/prepaid room charge of 100 dollars/night that we probably wouldn't have spent had we not had the money prepaid. 6. Drinks were weak and expensive 7. Staff was marginal at best w/ the exception of the bell boys. 8. Coqui water park is 20 bucks/person for 2-3 water slides 9. The only reason to stay on the resort is because it was so difficult to get off the resort. (from our room we had to get on the fenicular (sp?), walk a mile, get on an elevator, and walk another mile, then wait for 30 min for the valet to maybe get our car. 10. The fenicular (sp?) had a security guard inside whose presence was unnecessary. Being situated in the middle of the track, half the time we had to get on going in the wrong direction to go to where we wanted AND there was no way to just walk/take the stairs from the marina to the main resort area that we could find. 11. Free hotel wifi was nonfunctional. The list goes on, but to summarize, overall the resort had a thin veneer of luxury which was quickly unmasked by simply walking through the campus. I will not recommend anybody stays here longer than the day that is required to check out palomino and palominito islands and furthermore believe that this should be demoted to a 2 or 3 star resort as it doesn't come close to any 4 star resorts I have been to in the world.
The hotel is beautiful but I was treated very bad by two of their seller, as soon as she realized that I was not interested in to buy their package of vacations for the next 50 years!!, she went so angry with me and almost told me that I was a poor guy and this was not for everybody. We were a honeymoon couple and Im still amazed of their lack of professionalism. I sent an email to the direction of Sol melia and currently waiting for what they have to officialy say to me about this matter. Yes, they sell packages of vacations, like some special membership, for the next 50 years or so, they offer you something to go and listen but if you dont buy they went so angry and unprofessional, at least this was my experience.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our first room smelled strongly of mold, had a noisy bathroom fan that had to be on to have light, a shower with absolutely no water pressure (because I think the water was going into the wall, hence the mold) and an air conditioner that wouldn't cycle so we had to just turn it off for the room to warm above 65 degrees. After discussing with the front desk, they moved us to a room in a better location that didn't smell of mold, had decent water pressure in the shower, but it's air conditioner had the same issue. The room didn't feel clean but we made the most of it because we had to. The property's foliage is all old and sparse, just sort of pathetic. We were at this property in 2011 and thought highly of that experience. It's gone downhill. I've heard that if you have "red level" that it's a different experience. We didn't have that opportunity because we purchased last minute through kayak.
This place is paradise. Not enough snack or lunch options.

Hotel facilities are great. Especially pool is great. You can spend a whole day. It is also very close to El Yunke and Biobay activities. You should not expect foods in the hotel restaurants. It was actually awful. Also the hotel staff are not accustomed to booking.com system yet and they actually charged my credit card twice ! I called them to cancel one of them afterwards but they made me wait for half an hour over the phone and their reaction was so slow..
It was isolated and very picturesque Had to walk around in the rain because the rooms were a short distance from all activities.

Everything, from the villas to the enormous pool, the long serene beach, the extreme privacy, well manicured property, wonderful staff and luxurious settings. The pool bar and beach bar attendants were terrible. Stood at the pool bar looking to order drinks and literally not even acknowledged we were there ...walked to beach bar hoping to get better service. Nope same thing, he didn't even look at us.. Walked away empty handed two times.
Everyone was sooo nice at this hotel. Even though the hotel was packed - particularly the pool area - my husband and I enjoyed our stay, especially the beach areas. Beautiful and romantic place. Don Raymond and the manager, Felipe Cervantes were very helpful and friendly. We've never been so pampered in all our lives. Great choice. I thought the drink and food prices were expensive and did not enjoy the Puerto Rican restaurant, Pasiones (I think that's the name). We asked for a mojito without sugar and it came so sweet that I couldn't drink it. It was the worst mojito - and the most expensive - of all my life. But the Italian restaurant, Tempo, was great, very pleasant, with excellent service.
I was sorry they closed the casino. And I would like for them to have parties and band for the guests.
A multi-colored gem in a lush setting of greens and blues...everything was first class...the only drawback was a screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeching jacuzzi by the infinity pool that maintenance said was working fine...oh well...
The studio apartment was in excellent conditions. The view the staff. I dont have anything negative to say I will be visiting again next month.
Staff at Las Casitas were very accomodating. They provided water and ice as requested and did not limit the supply. The golf course had a fantastic view. The view from the cliffs were breathtaking. This is a perfect place for a quiet getaway, close to El Yunque and it was an easy ride to Old San Juan. The only thing we didn't like is that the shuttles doesn't bring you to the entrace of the hotel and the taxis charge you $15, one way for less than a mile down the road.
MY HUSBAND AND I STAYED FOR 5 NIGHTS , THE ENTIRE PROPERTY WAS BEAUTIFUL AND THE VIEW FROM OUR ROOM WAS SENSATIONAL. IT WAS A VERY ROMANTIC ATMOSPHERE. WOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN
We have 2 elementary school age children and travelled with another family of 4 with similar age kids. We stayed a week in August 2010. The 1 bedroom condos are spacious, nicely decorated, very clean and the full kitchen is awesome! You'll need it though, because the food at every single place we ate on property is very average and very expensive. Breakfast was included in our rate, so we did take advantage of the buffet they put out every morning by the upper pool close to the Golden Door Spa. It was fine, but lacked variety. There are several very good restaurants close to the hotel, so plenty of options to eat off-site if you have a car or don't mind a short cab ride. There are also grocery stores very nearby or the concierge will take a grocery order and deliver it to your room. Even with the less than stellar food, we had a wonderful time. Palomino Island is a kids' paradise with snorkeling right off the beach and plenty of sand for castles and volleyball and anything else you might enjoy. The restaurant on the island was the best we tried. Service was prompt and the food was above average. This resort is about 45 minutes east of the airport, but we didn't find that to be an issue. It's right next to El Yunque and the marinas where many of the snorkeling excursions and Bio-bay tours meet. It was nice to be away from the crowds and traffic in San Juan. We had our kids with us, so we weren't really looking for night life.
The staff was great to us, and our ocean view room provided an excellent view, day or night. Kitchenette was well-stocked with pans, glassware, and dishes. Food at the resort wasn't all that great, but there were 3-4 excellent restaurants within five minutes of the resort. The beach is a bit of a problem to get to, with the ferry and all (and might be more so during peak season - we went during July), but the beach was very nice and being out away from the main island makes the experience more pleasurable, I think.
We traveled in from JFK, Thurs-Thurs... very smooth and easy trip. Rent a car! Taxi prices are blatant extortion. We got a great deal w Enterprise. Hotel is 1 straight road from airport (40 minutes). We booked Las Casitas, ocean-view. The views, property, landscaping and grounds are stunning. Presidents week vacations have always had their challenges due to high occupancy, over booked facilities and stressed employees. Not the case here, it never look crowded, no lines, no chair/towel issues. In fact you would not think they were at all busy. Traveled with 8 and 15 Y/O boys, plenty for them to do and we all felt safe/secure at all times for them to wander on their own. Property Pro's: Views, diversity of property (shopping, private island), pristine grounds, superb, efficient well trained staff on all levels!! F & B: NYC prices. Poor menu design in casual dining/poolside/room service outlets, very limited and mediocre at best. Heavy fried foods and bland salads poolside. No healthy options. BORING! The dining restaurants were costly. The Striphouse and the Italian rest were of very good quality. We passed on the others. The villas have full working kitchens. Stock up at the local megamarket 5 miles away from the hotel. Amenities: rooms are a bit old and dated. Wi-fi never worked properly, TV's are from the 80's, all electronics are obsolete. Its almost laughable, after-all it is 2012, not 1992. Beds/linens are just OK. Does not live up to the brand standards nor 4 Diamond quality. Service: with the exception of the aforementioned restaurant managers/ wine stewards (they had no knowledge of food or beverage, I was confused as to what their purpose was) . Otherwise the staff was great. . . everywhere. Polished, personable and caring. The senior Management also takes a hands on approach to guest satisfaction. Both the hotel's GM and Hskpg. Very nice resort. Villa was perfect for our family with small kids away from hotel. We enjoyed all the amenities that the hotel had and the staff was always very helpful and friendly. We will definitely come back to Puerto Rico and we will stay at Las Casitas Village again.
I could have stayed at this resort for a month and not gotten sick of it. Awesome staff and location. Private beach is great for snorkeling and relaxing. I went with my fiance, but most of the guests seemed to be families with young children.
Is a good hotel if you rent a car to move around It Is very clean and quiet I did not like the gym as I travel solo and needed fhe gym for mornings The gym is super small and located in a ackward room next to the spa. Would help if they moved that up and have you workout viewing the water. Lots of people used the gym while I was there so it needs improvement. The beach was always with waves. The water was not blue but more green. If you walk too far towards east you hit the river and the small mosquitos called "mimes" will eat you up. Restaurants were good but pricey. No cash acceptance so need credit card for all and the bank fees are high if you withdraw money in PR for any Chase person. Overall is a nice property hotel but not for singles unless you rent a car and move around.
The entire resort is clean and well maintained!!! We will definitely go back! Not much privacy on the balcony. Over looking busy and noisy pool area.
The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The estate is gorgeous and includes beautiful pools and a fantastic 2 mile beach. The service at the pool was a bit slow and needs to be improved. The room service menu was somewhat limited and should include a few more options. However, overall this is a place I'd visit again.
We enjoyed 5 nights in this lovely hotel. Everything that you read about the prices is true. The food is very expensive and not really exceptional, but good. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The beach is really private and great for long walks. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is really secluded, so having a car is helpful.
The staff was great, the housekeeping real good. The hot tub was poor. The beach area needed more attention. We asked for two queen size beds and got full size.
Bed was comfortable. Showers were good (although a coworker had no hot water). Pool was excellent. Staff particularly management not responsive. Would not answer questions about my bill despite 3 left messages over a week. Number of questionable charges.A few room maintenance issues. Room thermostat was not adjustable. Noise insulation for teh room was poor (had trouble sleepiong over the weekend due to noise).
air conditioning would not cool sufficiently; hotel "engineer" came after our third call. he turned fan to higher speed which did nothing. turns out that when set below 70 the compressor shuts off; problem is that 70 (at least on the thermostat in our room) only cools the room to the high 70s.
