Great Decor, big spacious room with a large round bed, beautiful mosaic floor and a round bath in the very big bathroom, very clean, The nicest stuff, a real Jem!
We were delighted with the hotel and the hotel staff were very professional and helpful. Loved the modern decor. No we enjoyed our stay very much.
The facility was like new and the was enjoyable
Excellent staff - very friendly service !!!!! Very good design. For 4 star category the standard room is rather small without anteroom but for 1 night stay OK.
We liked it so much that, having stayed two nights previously, we went back (after the volcanic ash delays). Boutique and newly fitted-out to a high standard in a modern stylish Italian way - light and airy with marble, glass and steel. Staff friendly, with basic english. Ideal location for strolling to Agrigento's main dining and shopping area (Via Atena), and for the bus for visiting the Valley of the Temples. Finding it by car is a counter-intuitive challenge. Directions, from facing the Central Station, are to take the road on the immediate right of the station (Via Empodocle). Go down hill and at the bottom (before the road rises again), you take a very tight left turn - 180 degrees. This takes you down to a short, narrow tunnel. Emerging, you go immediate left back up hill to reach the hotel (a white building on the right, near the station), which has two reserved parking places on the road alongside. Alternatively, park in the plaza in front of the staion and walk to the hotel for more advice about how to reach it!. The hotel is visible from the station car park, looking to the left of the station. All well worth the effort.
The design was interesting The room was too small, there was a problem with the parking
Nice panoramic sea view , good breakfast and friendly staff .
Well located, nice gardens and pool, good value, very quiet restaurant
The quality does not reflect a 4 star hotel. The services and hotel staff were not really friendly. They could figure how to change the room because the one we booked had two single bed instead of a single double bed. Furthermore the didn't help us with our bags. It's not in city center. You need either a car or bus to get there. The hotel changed name few times and it's quite difficult to find. There was no secure parking and Agrigento is not the quietest city where to leave the car. Maps and tourist guides do not report it properly. People know the place with the old name "Jolly Hotel".
the trooms were very neat and tidy and the facility pleasant none
Fair room decoration Unfriendly staff especially at the reception and swimming pool. Seems the hotel is empty when you need something. Despite misleading name, spa is separated from hotel and -high- charges apply
Excellent grounds and swimming pool. Very good breakfast. Parking available. Smallish room without a balcony. Twenty minute walk to town centre.
The hotel had decent rooms, very nice gardens and a pretty good pool. The staff were generally helpful and friendly. The dining arrangements were a bit disappointing. The restaurant seemed to be geared up to deal with coach parties and the waiting staff seemed too rushed and inattentive in consequence.
Excellent spa, pleasant surroundings, restaurant good. The grounds were attractive and well maintained. The rooms were also attractive They were not attentive in terms of upkeep and certainly not apologetic if something was not working. Something was wrong with the Sky tv, and, instead of apologizing and saying that it woulld be fixed for the next customer, the staff member was rather aggressive. There was no offer to change me to another room (there were plenty available). However, this experience was fairly consistent with my experience with Sicilian hotels (with some of the employees, certainly not alll). An exception (a lovely exception) is Hotel Roma in Syracuse. I highly recommend that hotel for anyone visiting Syracuse.
The staff was absolutely superb, very friendly, helpful and lots of energy. It was a pleasure just being treated well on top of an excellent set of amenities in a superb location. We will go back.
generally speaking, all facility is wouderful.breackfast is excelent.hotelstuffs are friendly and helpful. a little bit far from center of the old city, about 10min.swimming pool is too small for all guest.
Parking reasonably easy, swimming pool good, access to Valley of Temples good but not walkable in hot weather (5 minutes drive), restaurant OK, Reception desk english reasonable. bedside lighting wired incorrectly (switches controlled the wrong lights), some poolside furniture in need of replacement, room safe door closed (we never managed to get it operative). Sky TV programmes very restricted.
The room was nice, with a beautiful clasic furniture and a spacious bathroom. The garden was full of mediterranian plants, and breakfast was served on the terrace with a sea view.
Simple, and half the price of the hotels; but it was clean, had a good bed, a simple breakfast and we could see and hear the ocean, across the street, from our second-story room and veranda. Staff very helpful when my wife was ill and we asked for tea and extra blanket. No service, staff on site; minimum extras [soap, shampoo, etc]. Noisy from street. No service, staff on site; minimum extras [soap, shampoo, etc]. Noisy from street.
Absolutely no views from room other than an appartment block, but I guess for the money not much of a surprise.
The location near the train/bus station was the only plus. No hot water. No hair dryer. Reception desk did not find a taxi on request. Poor breackfast.
It's very near the center just 200mt, there is possibility to park near the hotel, and they have wireless internet for guests The breakfast is very basic, and just the owner know the password to entry in the wireless internet access, infact we got it the day after our arrival date
Easy to find; good signage. Good proximity to the Greek ruins. Owners/managers were very helpful. Stored our motorcycles, helped us significantly with a motorcycle problem. Provided a phone charger. Really nice people! A nice small hotel.
It is located on a back street right one block from the central avenue. You may find a parking space for your car almost right in front of the hotel's entrance. You are in Sicily don't forget that. Low standard hotel, small unpleasant rooms, cheap decoration, poor breakfast actually even for a 65euro double room it's an expensive hotel according to value for money scale.
friendly, quiet a fridge in the room would have been nice
Long check-in time: we had a problem with the transport and were there quite late. This was no problem at all. At least one receptionist speaks French (instead of only Italian) and the others made an effort to communicate very well. Close to the temple valley
Staff was very helpful and nice. Hotel location is excellent if you want to be close to downtown Agrigento. Couldn't get the wifi to work with my laptop. But the staff let me use their computer to overcome the problem.
A very good position inside Agrigento town: in few minutes you are downtown on foot while with five minutes by car you are in the middle of "Valle dei Templi". You are so close to Agrigento Belvedere. Hotel Staff is so kind and helps you to get wherever you want around Agrigento with useful infos and hints. It is highly better to have a small car to enjoy Hotel free parking.
The staff/owner was very friendly and helpful, The breakfast is the same as if you went to a cafe and packaged toast, a croissants and coffee etc not a buffet deal so don't expect more. The hotel décor is a little dated and the price is expensive.
You feel the care and commitment all the time. Breakfast is "continental", at this place it means that they keep bringing what you want until you are happy. I ate my best tuna steak ever in the Hotel's restaurant, where they a very nice selection of wines as well. A hint: the hotel hotel is near Agrigento, appr. the same distnce from the Valley of Temples as Agrigento itself but in Favara. From the city border the hotel's direction is very well indicated, you'd better follow the signs than use a GPS which will try to take you into very narrow streets.Car parking is on the street but video controlled. I loved this place.
very attentive stafft, clean and stylish rooms, gorgeous sun terrace, delicious breakfast... Getting there is in fact not that easy, but there are many signs pointing you there and if the roads are not closed for construction (as in our case) it is not that hard.
Belmonte Hotel is a modern boutique hotel tucked away in the back streets of Favara, convenient for exploring nearby Agrigento (and the temples). The room was stylish and comfortable, with a particularly luxurious bathroom. We had a great three course dinner at the hotel, one of the best meals we had in Sicily. Favara felt quite seedy and we didn't venture far from the hotel as a result. The hotel is extremely hard to get to by car, I'd suggest calling ahead for directions as our sat-nav was unable to find a way to the street address and it is easy to get lost in the back streets.
the concpt of the hotel was perfect no
This hotel was a very nice surprise. Design hotel in a unexpected place. Very good restaurant. The owners are also very friendly and nice. A very good choice to all travellers that are staying near Agrigento. nothing
We liked everything - modern clean room, comfortable bed, good service, really helpful and friendly staff. About 10 minutes by car from Agrigento. Quite difficult to find - GPS is needed.
An excellent hotel, friendly staff, very nice room and well soundproofed, free Wi-Fi, purified water from the tap, very quiet area. It's not easy to find hotel without navigator.
Bath White spots of the quilt (brown). Surroundings doesn't match the style of the hotel.
The townsite of Favara was a bit rundown and made our first experience of Sicily a bit of a shock. We drove down a tiny street that barely qualified as a road to find the Belmonte Hotel - a welcome, modern and stylish oasis. It is a perfect little boutique hotel with a lovely village square just around the corner that has free parking. We had dinner at the hotel - exceptional!
The location is good, just in the main street, but not noisy at all.The stuff are friendly and very helpful.Room is big and comfortable.
Lovely hotel in the middle of old quarter very close to shops and restaurants with excellent staff. The street outside is closed to traffic on some evenings so getting to the hotel can be difficult.
Big and comfotble room. Staff very friendly Berakfast was not so good
Situated in city centre. Friendly staff. Good rate (60 Euros/night) Difficult to find parking lot as driving in shopping street is prohibited during the day time
A small but comfortable B&B, ideally located in the centre of town and within easy walking distance from both bus and train station.
This was a hotel that was used by tours so there were a lot of people there. This made it seem less friendly because the staff was so busy taking care of everyone. The food was not exceptional.
- Size of the room. - Breakfast. - Parking. - Bathroom. - The hotel is very old, some external and internal walls don´t have a good appearance.
I liked nothing, especially not the value for money. Do not recommend this hotel at all.
Friendliness of staff / the food The situation was not exactly well described on the web
The parking was most adequate. The bar was most convient and the bar staff very helpful and cheerful. It was quiet. The breakfast was limited. The coffee served was horrible until one asked for a latte and then the staff got it from the bar and it was fine.
the pool is nicely situated, most of the staff is friendly but not always around when you need them. Nobody, and I mean absolutely nobody, spoke English which, for a hotel of this extend is a quite poor performance.
Free parking on site. Pool. Whole appearance was little outworn. The room didn't seem cozy.
The hotel is very fine indeed and the staff are very helpfull. The location near to the sea is perfect. The surrounding area is a bit of a bore. Breakfast and diner are mediocre.
very nice if you want just relax on the sea cost. I`ve been there when it was too cold for sweeming - so, can`t give any comments on the beach and water.
Great location adjacent to the beach. The hotel room was good, but it really shows that the price paid is for the location of the hotel. The hotel staff differs. Some are nice and speak sufficient English, others are simply rude. Breakfast and cappuccino's are superb! A bit overpriced.
food stuf... beach
Great breakfast and obviously a good quality establishment Unfortunately situated in very close proximity to a very industrial area with no redeeming features
Nice location, friendly staff, breakfast buffet well garnished, swimming pool and beach very convenient, hotel parking. Room a bit small for the category, wireless not working
very friendly and helpful staff. good food.lovely views to sea. being off-season there were very few other guests (4 or 5)
service, breakfest, room comfort the noise from another bathroom.
The balcony in the room, the bathroom facilities, beachside view, the staff spoke some english and good french, breakfast was good quiet season so maybe more atmosphere in middle of april
The hotel was well decorated and looked smart from the outside The staff were not friendly and seem disinterest in their clients. The restaurant breakfast was not up to standard, the evening menu seemed very limited and did not compare with those we found in Agrigento/San Leone. The pool was filthy and out of action and Porto Empedocle is an absolute tip, scruffy, unfriendly atmosphere at night, even had prostitutes around the port area. Not a place to stay.
Disappointing as the hotel does not quite live up to the expectations created on the website.
Foresteria Baglio della Luna is in a beautiful secluded spot within sight of the classical ruins of Agrigento. A wonderful hotel that makes use of an old forest lodge with a lovely enclosed courtyard and Italian gardens. Great breakfast! The rooms and bathrooms are perfectly comfortable and equipped. Decor maybe a little tired.
loved the restaurant
This hotel is a good base for seeing the Vallei dei Templi, and is clean with pleasant rooms, and a nice pool and deck. Beds are hard. Hotel is impersonal because of size, and the tour groups that come there are noisy and not a nice atmosphere. Breakfast is not great.
Well refurbished beach hotel. Nice swimming pool. Excelent private beach. Beautiful gardens. Breakfast needs improvement (to match a four-star hotel).Internet didn't work. Too many group tours (coachs coming and going daily). Leisure and beach activities need obvious improvement (young hotel entertainers hanging around all day contacting no guests and organizing no activities).
wonderful view, everything clean and elegant, lovely beach and very safe in general. We will recommend this hotel the furniture is almost too "grandmother" and heavy according to us. We didn't like the food. Did taste Italian like gnocchi with a thick sauce. Breakfast like in a 2 stars with undrinkable fruit juice without fruit, no bread and everything packed as in a supermarket. Not fair to sell swimming cap at high price without telling before ( when booking).
Fantastic locction and sea views No desk in the room - had to sit on the floor to use laptop. Small bathroom
Very helpful staff
Cleaness, very confortable big-size beds. Expensive and not so close to the sea.
I realy enjoyed the beach access. The breakfast was OK it is a typical Italian breakfast. The exterior of the hotel and the inside common rooms were very nice. The restraunt was over priced and the food was not very good. You were a ways from the town and the roads and the drivers make it difficult to travel arround at dinner time. The beds were OK except you could feel the springs in the mattress. The rooms were very basic with no comfortable seating. If they could just give a little comfort in bed and room I would highly suggest this hotel.
We were very happy to have a sea view room
The hotel was lovely, safety was excellent, surroundings very nice Some customers seemed to get nice coffee from the staff in the mornings. We did not like the coffee machine. We did not like the juices, would have preferred fresh.
I enjoyed the view and the spa the best The fact they didn't open the gate to the Beach just because they class October as Winter. Also one of the waiters kept adding a couple of Euro's onto the bill everytime we bought drinks! A little irritating!
Beautiful gardens are the best feature of this hotel. Staff was friendly and very courteous. Good value for the money
Excellent location with meticulously kept grounds. The garden is particularly nice and invites to quiet stays during day and evenings. The rooms are somewhat small and the equipment is basic. The water pressure is low and flushing toilets was an effort...
Hotel in front of the ruins. Nice bedroom & good breakfast.Parking. Payed internet.
room was excellent for the value it was a little hard to find it
Good location for viewing and visiting the Temples. Pleasant garden area and reasonably good restaurant
The (female) manager was very efficient, spoke good English and was extreemly helpful. The hotel has a beautiful garden. We were happy that thishotel was not crowded with (bus)groups as many other hotels in Agregento. the entrance to the hotel. Dangerous (traffic)crossing! In combination with that the hotel was diificult to find. But if you know it, it is not a problem anymore. Room was O.K./good (good bed/matress and new bathrooms) but for the roomspace ,the price it was a little bit overrated.
Our room was one of the two on the top floor with a great terrace and view on the Valley of the Temples. Breakfast was good and there was a good choice of bread, yoghurt, cereals, bacon & eggs etc. Nice 'peculiar' details in the secoration of the hotel. Free parking.
Location is quite nice, if you have a car, you are 2 minuts from the arqueological site and 5 minutes form the town, othewise you can walk to the site (15 minutes) and can eat in quite good tratorias just across the street. Personal are very cordial and speak good spanish and english. Acommodation is good, not a fantastic 4 stars, but good enough.
Excellent evening meal, good value and great view over the valley del templi.
They gave us a great room with a big terrace with view of the 3 Greek temples, the garden below and the sun-set sea not far away. The food not too great.
modern motel style, excellent with views over the temples, excellent breakfast, helpful staff nothing
Staff was excellent. Newly renovated rooms were some of the most beautiful I've seen anywhere. A perfect wedding of classic and contemporary style. Food in the restaurant was excellet and the view from the rooms and the hotel pool of the Temple of Concord, and also the Temple of Hera, was incomparable. Honestly, no.
One of the nicest hotels, and nicest settings for a hotel, that I have experienced. Comfort and friendliness.
it was quiet and the service was pleasant nothing that bothered us
We booked deluxe rooms to guarantee a terrace and view of the Temple of Concord and they were wonderful - the most perfect view imaginable with enormous terraces. All the staff were charming and although the service in the restaurant was slightly chaotic (they were rather overwhelmed by a group) it didn't really matter as it was difficult to tear oneself away from the amazing view from both the restaurant and the lower terrace where breakfast was served. One of the waiters noticed our hire car had 2 nuts missing from 1 wheel and, because it was a public holiday and no garages were open, took off his white jacket and moved a nut from another wheel to make it safe.
Well staffed and very helpful. Well appointed rooms and very close to the monuments and the museum. Ability to make tea and coffee in the room. Courtesy car to the town would have been helpful, even if the hotel offered it on a regular basis, a lot of visitors will take up the option therefore prolonging their stay.
The hotel and our room were gorgeous and comfortable I did not want to leave!!
Very welcoming and helpful staff. A beautiful hotel in spectacular setting ideally placed for viewing Valley of temples. On site parking a bonus One design fault... pale beige carpet in corridors leading to rooms impossible to keep clean not consistent with appearance of an otherwise gorgeous hotel.
Excellent hotel and unbeatable location!
The romantic location, the lovely warm welcome from the receptionist on duty and the small but beautifully appointed rooms The overpriced and very average dinner. the wine was rediculoulsy expensive for what it was and the service was very poor indeed
The B&B was close to a nice area of town, just off the Via Atanea. Staff were friendly and the room was clean and had all facilities you would expect.
The young man who welcomed us was very nice; the room where we slept was huge and very beautiful like the whole house with beautiful colours ( one room = one coulour ); the breakfast was huge and delicious ( pastries, bread, croissants + of course the normal things composing every breakfast : coffee, tea, milk, juice, jam, nutella etc ... ); you can easily park very close to the house without to pay. Piece of advice : call before you arrive, because the young man who welcomes you is not always in the place, and we had to wait and couldn't go inside ... We were afraid he wouldn't come, but finally he arrived and welcomed us very nice. He apologized a lot !!!
