The extra salon which was at our disposal for making hot drinks. It was nice, and unexpected, to have that space. A good location in a quiet area but within easy walking distance of the town centre. St Geniez is an interesting and picturesque town which we could easily have spent more time in. Highly recommend this establishment, particularly for anyone on a cycling holiday. 9.6 Excellent
Pros: They had a large garage and charged us 5 euros per night to put our bicycles in. We have been cycling in France for 25 years and have never, ever, ever been charged for keeping our bicycles secure.
Cons: Making a charge to keep bicycles secure. Breakfast not available until 10.30 a.m. - far too late. Noisy industrial kitchen fan spoiled a tranquil room at the back.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was clean, tidy and comfy. The bar downstairs had a good atmosphere and the food was delicious.
Cons: We were charged an extra 11 Euros above the price we had paid when we booked it. The reason behind this was that they had upgraded from a 2* to a 3* and we had to pay for the privilege, which I thought was a bit of a cheek.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, atmosphere, excellent staff and food
Cons: No air con could be an issue if hot
6.7 Good
Pros: Its a beautiful part of France.
Cons: We had booked to have breakfast but this was not provided. The cost of breakfast was taken off the bill though. After 16 hours travelling this was not good news! We would not have booked, knowing breakfast was not provided. The rooms are above a pub so was quiet noisy late at night. No A/C so had to have windows open which didn't help.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Easy location , nice atmosphere , clean , comfy beds lovely staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a nice stop for traveling through I have never had before - even a bit idyllic!
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous hosts, wonderful cooking!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were lovely, conscientious people who made an effort to create a welcoming experience. The setting was spectacular, real, and a great reflection of what is interesting in France- a love of land and seriousness about food (sausage made by her father, for instance) and sprightly beds of flowers everywhere, in a pastoral setting along a bubbling stream nestled in the valley. Very beautiful! The hosts worked hard to include all in the conversation, a somewhat lost cause with our group (frankly, we were tired and not up to it, except my brother who had more French) though we are all well-travelled and I have lived out of the US in Mexico for 42years. We were served dandelion aperitif, homemade. The table was gorgeous wood and windows looked out to the spectacular valley.
Cons: We arrived exhausted at 2:15 and had to wait until 4 to check in- there were chairs and 2 lounge chairs but I badly wanted to soak my feet and rest. Once we were shown to our room I had the feeling we were supposed to stay there until the supper hours later, making me feel a little claustrophobic. There were cats, not a favorite for a person with allergies, though I don't think they affected me. This is the "gite" experience- 4 pm check in, dinner with hosts in communal setting, though it was not advertised as a Gite. They served a delicious lentil salad and then meat- ham, sausage, and more sausage with the cheesy potatoes that are regional specialty. Plus bread. I was craving vegetables and fresh food and wished I had ordered the quite lovely and delicious casseroles they prepared for my vegetarian niece. Dessert was chocolate mousse with a touch of coffee and whisky which gave me insomnia. And when you are exhausted from an 18 mile walk, it's hard to struggle with your poor French to converse. The walk to the place added 2 kilometers to our Chemin walk, not ideal. Bed a little soft, and room okay but a bit cramped. The breakfast was a disappointment, more bread and Nestles Quick (!) hot chocolate for the teens. Good jam, homemade, and homemade yogurt though! That said, it was admirable that these serious people made so much effort to create beauty and tranquility for their guests, despite perhaps finding it difficult or not pleasant to deal with non-French speaking people. As someone who has been in many service and hospitality situations for work and pleasure, I would say they were great- clearly good people. The dinner at 24 euros was a little pricey, as the wine was not great and too much meat!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The place was far from town and we could only arrive at 4PM on a rainy day. One of the rooms was very big, the other quite small. The view from one was pretty, limited from the other. The bathrooms were fine. Clean and plenty of hot water. There are stairs to go up so this is not a place for someone with problem knees or balance. The meals were absolutely wonderful, the bed excellent and the place very clean. we had a nice discussion with our hosts at mealtime.
Cons: We actually didn't realize in advance that the location was off the road three kilometers between Aubrac and St Chely. You have to go back up the road to reach the GR65. And then the phone contact beforehand was not so pleasant but once there the hosts were very nice.

Pros: Large and very clean room and modern bathroom. Excellent shower and a good view from balcony. Quiet location.

Pros: The room had been beautifully renovated, it was modern, clean and extremely comfortable. Extremely good value for money. Giles is the owner and Chef, and takes pride in his establishment. The food was brilliant in the restaurant, and breakfast was one of the best we have had on our trip.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Check in was simple, there was an elevator to take you upstairs, paring was free and easy (straight out front) . Our main reason for staying here was to go to Sebastian Bras restaurant a few ks out of town. We asked the young lady at reception to arrange a taxi there and back for us. We wanted to leave the hotel at 7.15pm. When we turned up she told us that the taxi wasn’t running but her sister was there to drive us and someone from Bras would drive us back to Laguiole. This was above and beyond great service. Things like this give this hotel a great rating. Breakfast was simple but nice. We thoroughly recommend Gilles Moreau.
Cons: It was all good.

Pros: The host upgraded our room to a huge suite. The outside of the building doesn’t lead you to expect such a wonderful interior. Very individual decor and fantastic public areas. Great breakfast. A memorable stay.
Cons: The place didn’t open to 4.00 pm and we went to a nearby hotel for dinner. I wasn’t sure if it does dinner or just bed and breakfast.
