It was a beautiful location and landscape was covered with snow. The food was excellent. It was great value for money. The downside was that the owner was in hospital and the staff seemed unable to manage the guesthouse. A bit like Faulty Towers!! We were relaxed though and made the most of it all. Put it down to another type of experience.
They were very understanding of our poor German vocabulary! Charming hotel.
The staff were very understanding of poor German vocabulary! Stayed because son working in area.
A delightful hotel with an excellent restaurant. The location above the Lahn was good despite being situated alongside a busy road. The hotel only accepts EC card no Credit Cards. This is a problem for UK travellers who don't carry large amounts of cash. The hotel indicated this might change in May 2009
A nice hotel at a very affordable price. The hotel is located near the river Lahn andf close to the Nassau castle. The hotel is unfortunately a bit remote from the highway, and for that reason not very suitable for my purposes. If not, I would go there a lot. Francesco
Friendly owner food exeptional the new years buffett was unbelievable Rooms had been worked on to provided comfort Would stay again Slight problem carrying luggage up stairs
The friendliness of the staff
The location is nice outside the village with nice walks close by, why it is supposed to be romantic I do not understand and the river Lahn is not particulalry close by. The restaurant is just ok...
Very nice place to stay. No
The location - town at fromt, open country at rear - is charming. The 600 year old building is full of character.
Very friendly staff and environment. The room was big, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was great!
Excellent breakfast No English spoken
Everything from the landscape to the breakfast...absolutely lovely!
the hostes were very kind warm and very helpful. the breakfast was exellent the room was queit and very comfortable.
Delicious breakfast and cozy room. The owner of the hotel do'nt speak english. So if you don't speak and undertand german, it's a little bit dificult to make out sometimes, but as they are very good and friedly, it's not much matter.
I would have loved an internet connection.
The atmosphere in the hotel was very good with a very friendly host. While enjoying a delicious breakfast one has a beautiful view of the castle on the hill opposite.
Convenient for the town, river and railway station
Only stayed overnight and decided to walk in to Koblenz in the early evening, unfortunately, the rain beat us, and we had to return. The view over the Rhine is stunning. Difficult to find.
I got what I was looking for. Single room that I stayed in is newly furnished and enough comfortable. Owners were kind. Breakfasts could be made with fresher bread and coffe milk.
Cleanliness,Food was good and sensibly priced.Location in a country town/village and close to Koblenz with the rivers mosell & Rhine (10 miles)
nice beergarden under large and old tree. Rooms are renovated and are better than appearance of hotel from the outside.
Old fashioned spa-hotel, very atmospheric. Good spa and sauna facilities. Bathroom had a stale smell; needed airing.
Staff and Breakfast. This is an old resort slowly coming to an end. Terrible furniture, worst sheets. One room smelled, another extremely dark (had to upgrade it). Bathrooms were fine. Only for older people interested in hot spring.
Friendly staff, good food, good value for money Not bad as such, clearly refurbishment is underway - but my room had dated look
We loved our stay at Häckers Kurhotel. The hotel is placed in Bad ems a really small town, and it felt like you were seperated from the rest of the world. Time stod still. The hotel itself was wonderful, the staff was really really serviceminded and the breakfast was excellent...So if you are looking for a hotel and surroundings to completely relax in- this is the place..
Everything is excellent...I would recommend this hotel to everybody who likes thermal spa facilities.
very good hotel very good foodgood
Excellent breakfasts, good location Parking was a problem, particularly for my disabled wife
The pool and the Sauna Landschaft - the beautiful setting of the hotel. We loved the Sauna Landschaft, but it was closed one day, and we find it strange that nakedness should be compullsory (seems a very strange German wish for strict rules) - anyway neither we nor several others stripped our swimsuits!. We came mainly for the Offenbach Festival Concert, but we thought it strange that the restaurant doesnt adapt to the times of the concerts: no way to have dinner at the hotel before or after concert. An improvement would also be to have easy access to Internet even without bringing a laptop. But we had a lovely time! Karl Johan Danell
upgrade me to a better room as the original room was not ready the spa should also be opening in the morning
We loved the Spa and Welness. Room was very nice and breakfast excellent. A place to relax. Nice view also from the room.
one of the best spa hotels I ever visited
Central riverside location in a quiet attractive town, and a very good evening meal in the pavement terrace restaurant.
It is in a clean and quiet town located only 18 minutes by train from Koblenz Station. Because it is a little further out from major tourist attractions, I found my hotel room to be very spacious, well-equipped for the price with free Wi-Fi and the quietest of all the hotel rooms that I stayed in during my trip. The restaurant at the hotel also served pretty decent food for dinner and the waitresses can speak a bit of English. If you want to visit Cochem, Koblenz (or Bonn / Cologne if you have a Eurorail pass), then this is a good hotel to stay in as a base for your day trips: quiet, well-equipped, clean, and well-priced. Nothing bad about the hotel, but make sure you check your train schedule as to when you catch your trains. Sometimes, there can be as few as just one train every hour or so.
Didnt like being charged 25 euros for putting some sheets onto a sofa. Should have been advised the cost in advance. Didnt like being told we couldnt use the free parking opposite and being told to use the paid parking some distance away so they could make some more money.
Pleasant staff. Good bar. As the room was at the back of hotel and facing a cliff, it was quite dark.
the food was very good, choice of wines was perfect, and the cook/owner was very attentive. the staircase to the rooms upstairs is a bit difficult for older people who carry luggage. maybe the hotel can assist older people carry their luggage upstairs. one small problem with the breakfast buffet where guests can make fresh orange juice themselves with a squeezing machine: the idea is nice, but in practice it does not work very well to squeeze the oranges. It takes a long time and it is easy to hurt your hands.
The staff is top! The restaurant is also very good. Great value for money. none
Great location, great views, extremely quiet and restful. Food and wine were excellent, service and friendliness were wonderful. We speak very little German but the staff were very helpful.
A very nice privately owned hotel in a picturesque place on a hill with a view on Bad Ems town. The restaurant is very good. The staff is very amiable. The place is quiet, excellent for having a rest and a good sleep. The hotel is isolated from the town on a high hill, and it is possible to get there only by car. But that was not a real problem for us however.
The breakfast was amazing and so too were the staff! I can't say enough good things about this place. It was perfect for anyone looking to get away from a busy work life. There is ample parking and great roads for the less adverterous. We went on foot from the train station which is possible but its an uphill walk for 40 mins. The rooms are cosy and the view into the valley is superb. I would definitely stay here again.
it's a very quiet place, with a very nice viewpoint on the valley. the food was excellent. gorgeous breakfast on the terrace The deco was dated and the pictures of the rooms on the site didn't reflect the reality
Staff really friendly. Staff really friendly. Beautiful scenery. No lift, rooms all on the 1st floor, not suitable for handicapped.
Nice quiet location (after the owner's son had finished his short drum practice in the basement!), right by the river as you'd expect from the name
The staff is very helpful and kind, the apartments are clean and comfortable
Excellent price for value, breakfast in your room is just great!
Room with a Rhine view. parking lot. small balcony. very kind hotel staff. a little bit dark bathroom. no mini bar.
The staff were incredibly helpful. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, and the room was very clean and comfortable.
The staff were very friendly and helpful :)
Great location and superb restaurant. Not all staff spoke English but all went out of way to help us. The hotel allowed us to store our bikes in their storeroom free of charge. Good value. In it's day the hotel would have looked very smart but is now clear dated. Avocado bath suits! B'fast basic compared to many.
the room with view on he Rhine the breakfast hall
The location along side the Rhine was excellent. The food was good. The noisy rail lines close by.
The new owners are very dedicated to their guests. Warm and friendly service. We thought the reserved table for our included breakfast was a lovely touch, and our two dinners at the Krone were excellent.
This is a well run family hotel. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The breakfasts are good and the room was most comfortable. The location is on the banks of the Rhine, giving wonderful views.
a good spot to stay for a night or 2 to see the Rhine Valley, river boat stop 100 metres away, reasonable food in the restaurant It was quite warm when we were there and there is no air conditioning as we found with most hotels in Germany. Good ventilation with the windows open but quite noisy from nearby train line and houses
