We’ve spend 6 days in one of the beachfront bungalows and had a wonderful time. YES - the way to get there is not the easiest one but worth the trouble more than double. The clean and comfortable wooden bungalow was located directly on the beach. Our private bathroom was made out of stones – nice natural look - and the interior was very functional. The ocean was amazing for swimming, tubing and also snorkelling there and I liked the beach shower in front of each bungalow. The beach and the private sun chairs were perfect for sun bathing – mostly it was too hot for this in the mid of April :) The restaurant had very good food -Western and Burmese style and also breakfast was very good. In the surrounding of G7 Plage you can find a lot of things to do. There is a pagoda on a little hill, a lot of different beaches, you can do fishing or snorkelling trips and there are a few villages with very friendly locals. We were this lucky to stay there during Thingyan (the Burmese New Year water festival) and have had one the “parties” for lifetime :-D We feel like blessed to be part of this family, water, spreading, dancing, funny, lovely, warm heart celebration, thank you. Hope to get the chance to come again to the paradise G7 Plage at Gaw Yan Gyi. Greetings Flo & Ina
Relaxed atmosphere and garden with sun beds, bungalows are spacious and comfortable. Snorkelling gear that you can borrow (although the snorkelling isn't that impressive). Beach was alright. Brownie at the restaurant is pretty good. The peninsula doesn't fully give you a castaway feeling as it is becoming popular with local tourists and it was nice to interact with them.
We felt a bit mislead by the term sea view bungalows they are 150 meters away from the sea, a better term would be garden view. Only the tents really have a sea view. Take an towel with you, the one provided is a hammam cloth which doesn't absorb water that well so we used this as a beach towel. It was all just a bit pricey, food/transport/accommodation. Recommend to walk out to other restaurants as well for meals.
