10.0 Excellent
Pros: The amazing views from the pool area, the superb hosts and the top notch breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The STAFF. What an amazing staff ! It is a very nice place to stay, with a breathtaking view on the landscape, but what makes it unique is the couple Valentino and Enrico. Their sense of warm, elegant and discrete hospitality and customer service (that's a hard combination to match) makes the place leading edge in hospitality. We didn't want to leave the place. What a great week end !
Cons: Although the room was big, comfortable and very clean, the room price is a bit expensive because it has no view and no window. It has a small window in the ceiling and a door/window but you cannot leave it open otherwise you have no intimacy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the hotel is fantastic. Implacable view, wonderful food and wine, huge room (especially in France), great sheet and bed, great taste in decor, and good service. Couldn’t ask for more. Definitely would come back next time in Saint Emilion.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Valentino and Enrico are the absolute best hosts. 5 Lasserre is an absolute GEM! We were in the area to attend a wedding at Chateau Gu Garde, which was only a few minutes away. Great location. Great night's sleep. Brilliant Breakfast. We cannot wait to come back.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: We truly enjoyed our stay at Château de Courtebotte. The owner, Isabelle, was extremely helpful in making bookings and suggestions for exploring the area. She is fantastic at cultivating an atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable and at home. Our first night, we had a delicious dinner at the Château, cooked by our host. It consisted of a butternut soup, followed by a duck confit with potatoes dauphinoise, a selection of cheeses, and a chocolate tart, all with a selection of wines from nearby winery, Château Bonhoste. We had the breakfast each morning, which was a lovely spread of cheese, meat, jams, croissants, baguettes, yogurt, granola, scrambled eggs, crepes, baked treats, juice, and coffee. The other visitors were great company at meal times and this added positively to our experience. We loved all the diversions offered at the Château. It has a fantastic pool, which can be heated, but the heating was not turned on during our stay (first week of October) so we did not use it. It also has a hot tub, which we did use. There is a great pool table and lots of board games. For kids, the pool is gated and there is a trampoline and playground. We stayed in the spacious room with a terrace. It had a very comfortable king bed and pillows. The shower has a rain fall shower head and excellent pressure.
Cons: Nothing that bothered us, but our curtains were dusty and there were several small dead bugs on the floor near the bathroom window. The bathroom radiator did not appear to be functional. The terrace had sort of a side view of the river, but the main view was onto the parking lot. There is a road between the hotel and the river which isn't frequently used, but you can hear cars a bit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb in every way, with outstanding help from the owner.
Cons: We love everything about Chateau Courtebotte
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Our room was the Suite with Terrace. It was amazing! The bathroom- exceptional! Terrace and view- divine! Breakfast- just delicious! Isabelle, her family, and staff were great! Wish we would have given up another night or two elsewhere to lengthen our stay. Just a short ride into Saint-Emilion. Stay here if you can!
Cons: Absolutely nothing to complain about

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, beautiful house. The room was very large, superbly decorated. The en-suite has a large walk in shower, twin sinks, again very nicely presented. We had our evening meal at the house, all I can say is Pierre can put together a very, very nice plate of food, if you ask Pierre to cook for you, you won’t be disappointed. Pierre is very friendly and easy to talk to, fortunately his English is quite good.
Cons: We love travelling around France, this is something we’ve found in virtually every place we’ve stayed in. Not enough power sockets. When travelling we need to recharge phones and motorbike comms batteries. Four spare outlets, two either side of the bed would be amazing! But, not really a criticism, the room was amazing, spare power sockets would be the icing on the cake! First world problems
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a delightful two days at the property surround by vineyards, with beautiful food served by Pierre each night, with perfectly matched wines. Breakfast was a treat also.
7.9 Good
Pros: Service was very Special. No Standard proceedures. The owner was polite and open for any Special wishes.
Cons: Air in the rooms
7.9 Good
Pros: The hosts are very friendly and provided us very good suggestions for trips Quiet area if you are looking therefore Nice Pool area Clean and spacious room
Cons: A bit of variety at breakfast would have been nice (if you stay more than 3 days like us). Maybe some savoury things like eggs or cheese... We needed to empty our bin by ourself. Room was cleaned just 2 out of 5 days...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful guesthouse run by a lovely couple (Pierre-Yves and Laure) where nothing was too much trouble. Our bedroom was beautifully decorated with lovely touches and a superb bathroom. There is private secure parking in the grounds. Dinner was a fixed menu that Pierre-Yves produced with aplomb and wasn't phased when informed my wife was allergic to scallops and offered an excellent alternative. Breakfast was continental style but just as delicious as dinner. A real gem of a find and worth venturing a little further out from Bordeaux.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Overnight stop on 6 cycle day ride from Bordeaux to the South. Loved the sense of remoteness, set in local vineyards. Couldn't have been better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location in the middle of the vine yards was excellent. Pierre and Laure were perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble and Pierre spent time with us each day to plan our excursions. The food and wine were of such a high standard that we ate in every night as we would not have found better value in any restaurant. This is a very rare find and can’t recommend it enough.
Cons: Nothing

With a gorgeous view of the Dordogne river, the pool and garden are delightful. Our hosts recommended a fabulous local restaurant and local villages with markets. Breakfast is exceptional. Would thoroughly recommend their hospitality.

Pros: The hosts were fantastic and enabled us to arrive early to prepare for a wedding. We were also offered a late breakfast option to help us recover after the wedding. The place itself was beautiful, overlooking Branne and with a nice terrace next to the swimming pool. I would thoroughly recommend staying there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The proprietors were very welcoming and helpful even getting us into a restaurant that was booked. The breakfast was the best we experienced anywhere on our trip through four different countries. The view from our room amazing! Centrally located to explore the Bordeax wine region, truly a high lite of our trip!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We liked the owners ,they were so friendly and helpful. We liked the big bedroom with seating area and faboulous views. We loved the breakfasts We liked the old house with such a lot of art and history. We liked the view of Dordoyne and the deer in the garden in tbe morning We liked that our hosts advised us to do guided tour of church in St Emilion . Only 6 %of tourists get to see the vaults in the underground church.
Cons: Limited choice of restaurants in the village although we did have lovely meal in the restaurant there. We eat with our hosts on the second night which was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dom & Brigitte were the most incredible hosts, welcomed us into their lovely home & couldn't do enough to please us. They gave recommendations of places to visit, looked up information for us, recommended & booked restaurants for us. Local restaurant in the village a 10-15 walk, Saint Emellion only 5 miles away & other villages/towns not far away by car, so lots of choice. We had a lovely large & comfortable room with a lounge area & stunning views across to the river. Good size bathroom also with lovely view. Breakfasts were a real treat, continental, the fresh croissants were just the best, baguettes, cheeses, meats, homemade jams, fresh fruit, yogurts, we asked for eggs & they were done & duly cooked perfectly. Fresh coffee, tea & juice. So much I couldn't do it justice so be prepared! We were always greeted from our day out & offered refreshments, likewise when we returned from our restaurant dinner, keen to know how it was. The swimming pool, not heated, so was quite refreshing!! But good returning from a day out on a hot afternoon for a dip, perfect. They both speak fairly good English & between them their understanding & communication really works well, Dom has a wicked sense of humour which was great fun. Thank you both so much for an amazing 5 days in your beautiful home, Jenny & Douglas xx London (Sept 2018)
Cons: Nothing at all that I didn't like, but if I had to really had ask for anything to change it would be a kettle & a tea/coffee option in the room as my husband loves to make a cuppa when he wakes before breakfast. Dom would always give me a large bottle of cold water when I asked after our day out, but maybe a couple of small bottles could also be in the room? We had no trouble finding it but GPS is a must. The road is a one way horseshoe shape & the first is a no entry, keep going & just past the sign you are leaving Branne is the 2nd entrance to the road. Their house is just on the end of the horseshoe curve, to the right. Dom will be looking out for you :)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hosts really welcoming and went out of way to add to our comfort – like upgrading the room and providing a kettle. Also assisted in choosing where to visit. Great location for visiting many fantastic places.
Cons: No problems at all. Maybe add simple egg/bacon option for breakfast as well as the extensive continental spread, but ‘when in Rome …. ‘
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Owners were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The property has a stunning view of Branne and a well maintained pool and garden which is lovely to relax in. There were lots of thoughtful touches in the room, like wine glasses and a wine opener. In the bathroom we had loads of toiletries to choose from and even miniature perfumes provided (so I spent our stay smelling like Yves Saint Laurent!). Towels for the pool were also provided which is almost never the case in a B&B! The breakfast was the best we had on our trip- excellent fresh pastries and bread, yoghurts, cheese, cold cuts, fruit. I always ate far more than I intended to! It was an easy walk to Branne which has a lovely restaurant by the river. Brigitte was very helpful with recommendations of where to eat and what to do.
Cons: The only downside was that the toilet for our room was separate so we had to walk down a small corridor to access it. It was still a private toilet but this was a little unexpected as I thought it would be attached to the room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were fantastic. Dominique and Brigitte made effort to help us enjoy our stay. The breakfast spread was something to behold. The best fruits, breads, meats, cheeses and a special dessert each day. The beautiful hilltop view offers a respite to reflect on the days' activities. Our room was actually a spacious suite with a patio.
Cons: The Branne/St. Emilion/Bordeaux area is for wine lovers. Other than absorbing a little local colour, there's not much else to do or see without a considerable drive. Three nights tops for the average wine fan. The property was a little hard to find, GPS coordinates are a must.

Pros: Absolutely wonderful! We had the family room, and it was the best we have ever seen. Not only it is very large and confortable, it is decorated in a way that makes you feel in a dream! The property itself is stunning, immerse in the green, it was very sad to leave! My kids loved it too, from the garden to the breakfast (amazing hand-made chocolate muffins and bread!). The owners are super nice. I would highly raccomend it!

Pros: The tree house was amazing! It exceeded our expectations and was an incredible experience. It was so comfortable and beautiful with a real toilet, hot shower and all the amenities of a normal guest room. Nicky and Denis have created a truly magical abode. They were also very friendly, helpful and flexible. They gave us excellent tips for Saint Emilion, which is only a short drive from their place. They had special touches like hand made truffles and the breakfast was a delicious feast. Thank you for a memorable stay on your lovely property and tree house!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was my third short visit to le Melchior in as many years. It is a little gem away from very busy St Emilion nearby. It’s a real French country hotel, where they serve home made food, interesting, and beautifully presented at a reasonable price. There is a very nice pool and a pretty garden. We had the family room with open doors to the terrace and pool area and a wet room. Two large double beds, a large TV and seating area. Highly recommended Iris from UK

Pros: We really liked the place, a typical local french house with a beautiful garden just a few minutes' drive from Saint-Émilion. The breakfast was delicious, with homemade yoghurt, jams and brioche. Ludovic is very nice, welcoming and helpful and he gave us precious tips to visit the area. We would stay there again! Thank you for everything!

Pros: Peacefulness, accessibility - parking, closeness to Saint Emilion and other places in the area. Privacy of the room at the end where we stayed. Very romantic and well equipped room and the bathroom.
Cons: Breakfast was the same for all 7 days (home made products were very nice), maybe more variety and possible eggs for breakfast are needed. Maybe more comfortable garden chairs are needed.

Pros: Celine gave us a very friendly reception, and the room was OK.
Cons: Breakfast less wide-ranging than other places on our tour.

Cons: Weak wifi, damp in the room
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Emanuel & Christine were very pleasant - they're social but don't crowd you. A very well balanced pair of hosts: bright, informative and good to talk with. Top marks! The location is wonderful too - beautifully set in Sainte-Terre, down by the enormous but peaceful Dordogne river. You couldn't ask for more. I rented a car and found getting up and down to St Emilion and surrounds quick and easy as a result. I'm not sure how accessible all of this would be to non-drivers but I'm sure it would still be worth the effort.
Cons: It may be time to upgrade the towels!
