Although this hotel looks stunning, the rooms miss the character and personality that we do find in other paradores. The spa is rather expensive and, more importantly, the pool was closed (in september, 30 C degrees))
The historic setting and proximity to the palace and gardens, and the beauty of the building and its imaginative restoration. The dinner menu was pricey so we avoided it, but the breakfast was to die for. Every imaginable item was available. Sadly we had overslept so had little time to exploit it to the full. The hotel was also peaceful and the rooms large and well equipped, and the views great. The booking was a bit confused. Our internet booking had come up as for the following month (or so they said) although on returning home and checking emails, booking.com had correctly confirmed it to me.
We asked several staff members to direct us to the pool and then again in the spa area so that we could take a swim but were told that unless we purchased a spa treatment we could not enter the pool area. We never did get to see or swim in the pool.
had a wonderful nights sleep in comfortable beds with completely blacked out rooms, I came to visit my daughter in nearby segovia and feel that it is a great place to stay providing you have a car
Beautiful hotel, large comfortable rooms, friendly efficient staff
Wonderful facility. Surpassed our expectations!!! Staff was quite unfriendly. Professional, just seemed like they did not care if we were there or not.
Excellent location for visiting Segovia as well as the local palace and gardens. Easy access from Madrid airport and also easy to visit El Escorial via very beautiful mountain road. Usual excellent Parador buffet breakfast. Unlike other Paradors I have stayed in this has no outside terrace ro grounds.
The location was fabulous - surrounded by mountains and beautiflul countryside but in the lovely town of San Ildefonso and only 10km from Segovia. There was nothing to fault about the room - it was clean, sound-proofed and everything worked well. The reception staff were all unfriendly and unhelpful - they seemed more concerned about their paperwork. We never ate at the hotel as there were restaurants in the town serving breakfast and dinner at a much more sensible price.
The rooms are spacious, clean and have lots of light. The small town is charming and the hotel a good mix of comfort and pleasure.
The hotel had the most reasonable rate to the quality of the room when compared to all of the other hotels we stayed at in Spain. The room had a patio balconey, mini-bar, safe, huge bathroom. Ask for rooms # 16, 14 or 18. If traveling by car it would pay to stay in this hotel as it is very close to Segovia. Excellent buffet breakfast which was included in the rate.
Everything is excellent. I strongly recommend this hotel.
Very nice bar to have a beer in the sun. Nice store of stuff from Africa. Excellent room and good breakfast included in the rate Had to book to use spa and stay limited to 1 hour. Should inform previously that swimming cap is mandatory
The ambience and room were lovely and the restaurant was outstanding. It was a great place to recover from our international flight before touring Spain. The town is very small and there was no place to stroll and walk around for more than a short distance.
Very stylish, comfortable, clean hotel. Excellent value for money. Room as good as paradors. Restuarant very expensive but Taberna on site is good value basic food.
no food of any kind on the night we stayed.bar/lounge closed 9pm so we had to retire to our room with no english t.v.channels
Spa and interesting setting
Beautiful setting, spacious accomodations, fantastic pool and very very friendly and helpful staff. We were impressed at the speed of laundry service and other benefits of staying at a quality, quiet and serene hotel. The manager and his team made his feel very welcome and gave us excellent dining and sightseeing advice. Breakfast was generally good -- would be great to have a better variety of quality cereals (muesli, granola) and dried fruit in addition to the heavy sugary and meat/cheese selections.
we could not stop as long as planned but the time we had was wonderful As we are English we found it hard in the restaurant to understand the menu. It was also quite expensive
The young lady who checked us in and out at the hotel was very friendly and helpful and was making sure that all her guests had everything they needed. She was extremely capable and professional. Room was lovely and perfectly presented.
Lovely room with beautiful view, and balcony, on which we had our very acceptable breakfast Car parking
An excellent hotel and may be thoroughly recommended Reservation made by Internet direct to the hotel for two rooms, but the request was automatically transferred to Booking.com who informed me only one room was available. On checking again direct with the hotel, a second room was in fact available. Booking.com did not do the necessary research to see if a second room was available.
We liked the staff, the facilities and the breakfast. We had a pleasant stay, which, definitely, was good value for money.
We enyoyed a pleasant relaxing stay at this lovely hotel in an excellent location. The stork nest and family just outside the window was especially entertaining One weekdays in the off season there only appears to be one restautant open in the whole of the town
Nice room but airconditioner not working; breakfast pretty measly. Generally overpriced. Your site said "Double beds only on request" so we assumed we´d get 2 singles. We got a standard double. See above
Since there were no visitors, we had the hotel to ourselves and they gave us one of their best rooms-suites. We had a great view to observe the storks feeding their babies!
This is a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful setting. Very friendly and welcoming staff and great food served on a very lovely terrace overloking open countryside.
Exceptional hospitality in a very attractive house in rural location. Great food and fenominal sunset view from dining balcony. Charming hosts and staff.
The most charming hotel I have ever stayed in; had the feel of home. The internet was reliable and a nice, homey breakfast was included. From our room, the view of the countryside was spectacular. Parking is on the street and free, as is the internet. Nothing.
Very kind and friendly owners. Amazing view on the surrounding landscape. Not easy to find the location. Check-in from 14 to 18 and breakfast from 9 to 11 is rather unusual for travelling people. Nice room but expensive.
Hotel staff, very friendly, extremely helpful
Owners very atentive and excellent information about local sights and what to see. A very pleasant stay.
This was a lovely bed and breadkfast. The owner, Madonna, was very helpful and she provided excellent restaurant recommendations and directions. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable and the house is charming. This bed and breakfast is located in a small community just outside of Segovia, so you do need a car to access it. The country location is very peaceful and quiet.
A wonderful country-house in a very nice and peaceful location. Each one of the few rooms has its own personality, and we enjoyed ours for the comfort and the tranquillity. The buffet-breakfast in the garden has been a true moment to remember. Above all the owner, Maria, is wonderful in taking care of the guests and made us wish to be back here as soon as possible. 20 minutes by car to visit Segovia.
Very clean and well maintaned, good breakfast included in price. Staff very helpful and plesant. Car parking location.
a good comfortable hotel in a superb setting The walls seemed thin and the sounds from the next room kept us awake Better sound proofing required
Excellent position in a most interesting village. We were the only guests I think so it was very quiet, but we enjoyed everything about the hotel
The hotel is simple but very nice. Well located and comfortable. The couple who run it is really helping and friendly. No wireless Internet.
Friendliness of owners, ´personal´ touch, feeling part of the family, superb quality/specifiction of the 8 bedrooms, (mix of modern/traditional) cosy andl very clean and comfortable, Central Heating very efficient even on a cold night, nice ´touches´ with sweets and bedside chocs. Informal but very efficient and a small well-run family Hotel, quiet location in centre of historic village with superb castle ruins and fortifcations. Easy access to main Route South. No dining but several Bars Cafes small Restaurants Shops (and ´chocolate y churros´) in easy walking distance, and simple breakfasts available on request. A Gym available for fitness fanatics! A great place to stay, lots to see and do in and around the village, and the area No
Friendly service, comfortable and very clean, handy for sightseeing.
