Pros: The photos on the website.
Cons: They do overbooking! Very unprofessional. We are highly dissappointed.

Cons: Although the room was very nice, and the bathroom good, the bed was not as comfortable as it might have been.

Cons: Everything was good but, strangely, the floor of my room was dusty which I only noticed on walking about on bare feet and then getting in the shower.
Pros: The reception staff were all really lovely, the bedrooms are great (modern and with stylish shower room), the breakfast was superb and the location is ideal for hikers and river swimming
Cons: After five minutes in the shower the water goes cold, it's clearly a policy of the hotel and needs to be reviewed, ten minutes after a day of hiking would be more reasonable. I had the degustation...

Pros: Great location away from the town in a green setting. The rooms with their balcony were perfect to escape from the hustle-bustle of city life. The breakfast was great and the staff exceptional

Pros: Very clean and quiet. Great location. Very near to shops and plenty of bars and places to eat. Friendly Staff. Beautiful hotel
Cons: A little over priced for food/drink if not purchased on half board/bed & breakfast rate. No pool - possibly due to time of year we visited
Pros: A very pretty location

Pros: The hotel stands in its own grounds and is well away from the nearest town which has absolutely nothing to commend it. The reformation of this historic building is very interesting and makes for an enjoyable experience, and is a nice change from the typical new hotels that seem to be everywhere.
Cons: The breakfast was acceptable, but certainly not up to the standard that one would expect at a four star hotel.
Pros: The location was excellent, in the countryside near the North slopes of Sierra de Gredos. The room (double level) was luxurius..
Cons: The double level room is not appropriate for a family with a very young child (3 years), especially when it was no possible to place the 3 beds on the same floor. Use of swimming pool was extra charged !!. Breakfast was also charged 15 euros/person extra. Staff do not speak English at all so communication was difficult even for simple requests.
Pros: The location is very peaceful; the rooms very comfortable.
Cons: Our lack of Spanish and their lack of English made ordering dinner, and an early breakfast, a bit of an exercise!
Pros: We selected the hotel Izan Puerta de Gredos for its location close to "Sierra de Gredos". The atmosphere and the location of the hotel were excellent, relaxing surroundings and the access to the mountains, nature and picturesque villages was easy. The room was comfortable and the breakfast had a good selection of products.
Cons: The spa.
Pros: I stayed one night booking.com and a further 6 nights in conference.I think the hotel is poor. I cannot imagine anyone staying there in the winter. It is a gracious building and in a pleasant area. Possibly good for walkers.
Cons: The majority of the rooms are not 4 star quality - no views (obstructed by fire escapes) - at least one with only a skylight. Mine was ground floor with a path outside and no curtains. Cleanliness is dubious -ants among the breakfast bread, and on the floor of the dining room. Dead flies in my bedroom not removed for three days. No outdoor pool or any kind of exterior seating seating. To say that it has gardens simply isn't true. There are areas of roughly cut field. Indoor pool/spa/gym poor and expensive. Should be free. Local village is typical, but it is too far to walk comfortably and offers little entertainment. Not much in the way of local information and no newspapers of any kind.
Enjoy your visit to Barco De Avila with a stay at Hotel Izán Puerta de Gredos. Guests indulge in spa services, then grab a bite to eat at the restaurant. There's an indoor pool and a bar/lounge, and rooms at this upscale hotel offer 24-hour room service and LCD TVs.
Pros: I loved the location, the breakfast, the energies. it was very relaxing. very close to a castle, and a 5 minute drive away from a place where you can ride a horse through amazing landscapes.
Pros: We were there in mid-week in Winter and only very few other guests were there at the same time. That didn't stop the excellent and friendly staff to heat up the whole place including the excellent...

Cons: lack of flexibility of the reception and the owners (said breakfast was only at 8.30h and then was earlier), bad breakfast, noise between rooms is horrible, you can not sleep. the toilet seat was broken
Pros: the location & views
Cons: It was last week in June, although hotel open for business, it & services in area gearing up for holiday rush so very quiet, swimming pools, restaurants etc were closed & full menus not available.
