10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this posada. What a treat to stay in a historic property like this one. The lady at check in was amazing. She knew we had to leave before breakfast started and so she made some sandwiches and snacks for us to take on the road. I loved staying here. Nos encanto, gracias por todo!

Pros: The building is like a trip back in time. Wonderful atmosphere and very friendly staff and owner. Nothing too much trouble. We had snow whilst we were there and it was magical in the courtyard. Would recommend.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: It is a useful distance from Bilbao if you are traveling to the South. House is fascinating. Village is old not developed. Host was charmeing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a really beautiful old house. The owner asked us to indicate a time of arrival, and she was waiting for us outside as soon as she heard the motorcycle coming up the road. A very warm welcome. The old house reminds me of some of the beautiful old houses I’ve stayed in in Nepal, with a large balcony around a courtyard. It feels like you are stepping back hundreds of years into medieval Spain. The room was very comfortable and warm, spotlessly clean and furnished with old artefacts. It’s a superb place. The village is fascinating and well worth a few days stay, both to explore and walk in the region. Superb.
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely old historical building, comfortable bed, nice soft sheets, nice breakfast
Cons: No problem with the hotel itself, but we would not recommend staying in Sepulveda in mid June unless absolutely essential!! We found it very difficult to find anywhere to eat as everywhere seemed to be closed for holidays. We found it quite depressing - a very unfriendly bar (Casa Paulino) for a really overpriced stale sandwich for lunch and a pretty diabolical meal at night at Señorio de Sepulveda - the only restaurant we could find that was open but with a limited menu. Sepulveda has been voted one of the 'pueblos mas bonitos de espana' (most beautiful villages in Spain) and therefore will attract many tourists because of this. It doesn't seem to care for those tourists however, and if people visit but, like us, find no facilities available, they will not return or recommend that others visit.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It had real old world charm, just what I like. The room was spacious with nice views. The hotel had a good car park.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Historically stunning
Cons: Perfect

Pros: Excellent location, near to the main square in the town.
Cons: Café/restaurant wasn't open in the evening for dinner and also restaurants in the Square were not opening until July.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Unfortunately, many of the restaurants in the town were not open due to the time of year.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was just perfect for a solo traveller. Only one comfy and roomy bed, enough space for me in the room, and an excellent bathroom. Hotels should have more rooms like this. The attention to details in this hotel is extraordinary, especially considering the price. 4 and 5 stars hotels, watch out! Superb breakfast included. Excellent if you are travelling from north to south Spain (or viceversa) and don't want to enter into Madrid. Roads around the hotel are fantastic for motorbikes.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Decent choice at breakfast. Extremely clean room and breakfast.
Cons: No kettle in the room. Drink making facilities were down the corridor.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: An unexpected find. Friendly helpful staff. Great location. Hotel car parking, to access car park, drive past hotel and parking is on the left. Breakfast was ample, good choice of hot and cold options. 2 minutes walk into main square.
Cons: Hotel was in old part of town, access with car might be difficult for nervous drivers as it is through one of the gateways in the old town walls. We had a room on the first floor and could hear some sort of machine, this may be annoying to light sleepers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Second time I stayed here, need I say more, would go again.
Cons: everything was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and the welcome feel of the hotel made us at ease. It’s position in the heart of the medieval town was superb. Our room was super high standard along with the bathroom, everything was spotless. Breakfast very satisfactory, good quality, typical Spanish. Easy Parking a few metres along the road.
Cons: Nothing. But just be aware the restaurants Sunday evening are closed for food . Difficult to find something to eat 16- 9- 2018 also the hotel restaurant and bar were closed.
7.5 Good
Pros: Bedroom
Cons: The dining room we down a steep staircase with no handrail plus it was dark The village was stupidly expensive to eat out, we refused to be ripped off. Car park was bad as I got boxed in, if I had to catch a plane I would have missed it, roads very narrow near hotel, Would not visit again
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We were late because of delayed flight but they kept the reception open until after midnight for us, even gave us sandwiches and fruits at arrival. The room was huge and clean, beds a little bit too hard for us. Simple but nice breakfast, good and easy parking. Beautiful village, a shame we didn’t have time to explore it. Very good value! We enjoyed our stay very much.
Cons: WiFi didn’t really work.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The warm welcome and the very personal attention.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Mariano, the host welcomed us in a familiar way, that came from his hart. Well Hans, stay focused and formel, because it is facilities that counts, isn't it ? First of all, the old house is restored in a almost perfect way, so tastefull and sober in every detail. The bed was vide and the mattress of a good quality. Jacuzzi, what about that ? I newer use it, but it was there. We dined at the restaurant and had this authentic, hornets experience, and guess who was in the kitchen, of course, it was Marianos mother. But before that, we was invited 7 meters underground, under the house, into the wine cellar, to taste the lokal stuff. Mariano did tell jokes in spanish and we did in danish. Nobody really caught the points, but we laughed a lot. Some places are rune by brain only, and some by hart. This was a nice combination, and it is not a question, if we will be back, but when.
Cons: This place was CLEAN. Please do not use air-fresher (synthetic parfume) It ise unnecessary and poison to human and environment. (I tell this to everybody who use that stinky fluid).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The most friendly owners and best Spanish experience I have ever had will definitely return
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly. Felt like at home. Lovely people, lovely food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for an overnight stay as we drove south from Santander ferry (10 min off main road). Very friendly welcome (owner's son), fabulous rooms, surprise wine tasting before dinner in the 200-year old cellar and then a really nice dinner. Nice breakfast, very good quality food all-round.
Cons: Nothing!

Cons: Nothing. Everything was OK

Hostal Romi - Cantalejo - Building

9.2 Excellent (146 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Marino, was amazing - so hospitable, friendly and helpful. He gave us loads of useful information (and even a welcome drink!) The bathroom appears to be new, with a modern shower unit and nice tiles. For a simple hostel it was excellent. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
Cons: Nothing. There's no parking but as it's a small town it was easy to park for free nearby
Hospedería de Los Templarios - Sepúlveda - Building

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel and the views to the mountains from the room is amazing. The breakfast with handmade bakery (due the owner has a bakery too) is excellent.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The old day that received us is really nice. The house is in an old building with charm and location is perfect. The breakfast has quite a wide variety and the quality is good.
Cons: the room is a bit small but it is fine for short stay.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very generous and excellent with fresh bakes from the bakery below (owned by the same family), variety of pastries, biscuits, cakes, very good ham, freshly squeezed orange juice and superb bread. Excellent location at the heart of the village with restaurants and bars nearby.
Cons: Rooms facing the square are noisy. The one we had on the first floor on the back of the building was noisy too due to the bakery machinery located just below. Also, the room had no aircon and was very hot (perhaps because of the bakery oven). Also, it is located just opposite of the breakfast area, which was noisy too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice, lovely lady, location is in the main square and the parking very close.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect and the staff were lovely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything of this place. What isn't there to like? The staff was friendly, the room very cozy, comfortable and clean, the breakfast was incredibly good. I love that the owners also run a bakery adjacent to the hotel and the lobby often has a recently baked almondy smell.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a small quintessentially Spanish village. No English is spoken in the hotel but it was straightforward to check-in and checkout. Water, tea and coffee are available throughout the day in the small seating area where breakfast is also served. Pastries from the bakery next door are also provided by the hotel. There was an excellent restaurant next door serving succulent lamb roasted in a clay oven for three hours, excellent for a relaxed long lunch. You can park in the square in front of the hotel most evenings but on the weekend there is parking just down the hill behind the hotel or in side streets.
Cons: It would be helpful for the hotel to get someone to write a guide to how things work in the hotel. Thankfully others had written information in reviews like this one.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delighted to stay once again at the Hospedería, our usual stopover on the way back to the UK. We have now sampled most of the rooms and all have proven to be most comfortable and with good bathrooms. The breakfast as usual was excellent with plenty to choose from. Really good value for money and nicely situated in Sepúlveda, a beautiful small town. Highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our usual stop on the way north and as usual, a splendid experience. An earlier than usual breakfast was provided with no hesitation and as before, a superb selection of pastries, bread, orange juice and excellent coffee. The room was comfortable, clean and with a good bathroom. We unhesitatingly once again recommend La Hospedería de los Templarios!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and lovely breakfast. Loved it!

7.5 Good
Pros: Nature
Cons: Location too isolated
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location, was chosen as I had booked to go Canoeing down the Gorge, created by the next door dam. Was pleasantly surprised by how good the hotel was, with rustic Spanish decor. Staff were very welcoming. The owner had informed me before that the restaurant would be closed by the time of my arrival, and even offered to have food prepared and put aside if required. Excellent breakfast. I will definitely use again as a stop off on route from Ferry to southern Spain.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: At first when I saw the downstairs restaurant, I feared for my peace and quiet. But I couln't have been more wrong! It appears to be family owned, and everybody was friendly and willing to help. The hotel has lots of charm and charater. The view of the room was to the most adorable indoors courtyard. Our dog was treated like a queen. The breakfast was really good, with plenty variety, specially after driving through france where all you have is a sweet breakfast. The food in the restaurant was also delicious.
Cons: Serving hours for the restaurant are a bit late. Same with breakfast. Understaffed (But there was a 'help wanted' sign so it's something that it is being taken care of).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very warm welcome . We had our young puppy with us who was made most welcome. We could eat in the bar area with our dog but not in the restaurant which was perfectly fine. The hotel is lovely inside , the location is very peaceful and scenic. You can take nice walks along the river right outside the hotel. Our puppy loved it as it was perfect and safe for being off the lead.
Cons: Nothing to dislike
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice village house, good breakfast and tasty dishes in the owners restaurant. Very quiet place.
Cons: The was like an air conditioner in the room but it works only in heating mode, we used a regular fan and it was very hot. The duchess was not convenient at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Where do we start? Our dog was pampered by the staff, and he made friends with the owner's Boxer. Many people had dogs with them, and we could eat our meals with our pets just off the main dining areas. The staff were exceptional. Don't expect to be speaking any English, so this is a great opportunity to practice your Spanish. The restaurant put out some excellent dishes, with grilled and roasted meats being the focus. Desserts were interesting too. If you are travelling with a group, ask in advance about the roast suckling pig and the lamb. I think you need to order in advance (pig for 6 persons, lamb for 2). The surrounding area is a beautiful nature reserve. The hotel is at the foot of a dam for hydro power, with a lake behind it. The river runs in front of the hotel. Mountains are behind the hotel. Our room was very rustic, clean, and well appointed. The windows had screens to keep out the insects. As often happens in Spain, our car's GPS did not recognize the hotel address. My iPhone (Google Maps) did take us there. The GPS coordinates at the front of the hotel in the parking lot are: N 41.339044° W 003.886527° We can't wait to go back for a few days with our dog, of course...
Cons: There is nothing negative about this place, other than having to check out and leave...

Pros: If you need to stay in this area for any reason and want to be near the A1 Motorway then this property is perfect. You get a lovely little home of your own with a large double bed sitting area, kitchenette and large bathroom with also your own garage. the property is gated as well so felt very safe leaving car at night with luggage in, good restaurant on site as well as a swimming pool. the motorway is literally in view but not overly noisy so no complaints about this. Also greeted with a lovely little welcome bottle of drink, pastries and chocolates when we stayed and finally lovely breakfast as pictured!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything excellent
Cons: Can't think of anything to improve
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is ideal when driving to Southern Spain as it is located just off the motorway, but very peaceful. Although limited English was spoken, we were able to understand each other and were given a disabled room due to mobility issues. The facilities were superb, with a great kitchen, bathroom and main living area with the added bonus of our own garage and terrace. The restaurant wasn't open that evening but the friendly staff made us very welcome and we had a wonderful meal in the cafe that was great value for money. Due to dental problems, I was unable to enjoy the standard breakfast included in the deal but the waitress managed to find me something I could eat. We believe that the lady who checked us in was the Manager and she made us feel most welcome. We will definitely use this place again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great to have a garage so we didn’t have to unload the car. The facility is extremely secure. So much so that it was extremely difficult to get out. The gate is operated by buzzing reception - which is not manned. There is a telephone number to call - not answered. The doors into the main building were all locked so we could not reach reception. We were locked in and it was nearly 20 minutes before we could get hold of anyone to let us out. Not great.
Cons: See above. Reception not being manned and requiring someone to go to reception to open the gate - this being the only way to get in and out of the facility. It would be helpful to be able to open the gate using the garage zapper. On check out had to wait in the busy cafe to get someone to go to reception to open the gate.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful place, fantastic individual apartments that are beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean.
Cons: Needed an early start but breakfast and staff were only available at 7.45

Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely rustic property
Cons: Cold room until heating came on properly, it didn’t come on in the morning and the bathroom was very cold. I was the only staying in the hotel I didn’t see anybody else. Food not very good and expensive, duck was sent back as it was cold, reheating duck doesn’t do it any favours, I had to shout into the kitchen before staff came to sort out problem. Staff very nice but could have tried harder.

6.8 Good
Pros: Clean rooms, very helpful owner
Cons: Smoke odour in the reception and breakfast area Dogs barking in the streets at night
6.8 Good
Pros: Nice place right in the center of the village. Very silent and clean.
Cons: We were given a room in the attic, where it was 40 degrees warm (the sun had been shining all day). It was imposible to sleep there even with the open Windows since there was no air running at all. When we told the staff that we were going to leave since it was imposible for us to sleep, they told us that they were going to charge us the room anyways, so it was up to us. That was very rude, since they should have never rented that room; they even told us that it was their fault that they didn't open the Windows earlier. A pitty because the room was very cosy.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: This family run hotel was excellent in every aspect. Our trip wasn't planned, our car had broken down and we were taken to this town and had to get emergency accomodation. What a gem. Although they spoke very little English, and we spoke very little Spanish, their help in trying to get information on our car repair was wonderful. They allowed us to keep our rooms for the day in the hope our car would be repaired by the evening and didn't charge us for such a late checkout. Lovely family, lovely hotel. Would highly recommend.
Cons: This town is on a hillside surrounded by beautiful scenery, however the hotel is just a few minutes walk outside of the centre, which is an uphill walk. Fine if you dont have any mobility problems but a struggle if you do.
5.8 Okay
Cons: It had a restuarant, but it was closed and so were all the other resturants in the town because it was Viesta Week We had no choice but to leave the next day, although we had booked for two nights. They still charged us for the two nights. I complained to Booking.com and they contacted the hotel but they still refused to make a refund. Fortunatley Booking.com refunded me the money

Pros: Grajera is a tiny town with 104 residents. The room was spacious and comfortable with a sauna. Very clean. Secure. The town has very little for tourism we visited Sepulveda nearby. It is beautiful. Nonetheless our room in Grajera was great. We had to go to the local bar to find the staff and get the key.

Pros: Excellent, comfortable, clean and spacious hotel. What a find through the website! Staff were so friendly and helpful. Opted for early dinner at the partner hostal just metres away. Tasty and filling as we did not a full evening meal. Just loved the place and wished we had time to have spent several nights because we'd have loved extending our stay. Many thanks for everything.

Pros: Very unusual place very Spanish the room was very big and warm, we loved it and would go again
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Used before and met our expectations in comfort and value. Would use again. Convenient for A1 autovia, but unsure for snowy winters. Very peaceful location.
Cons: Too many flies in restaurant bar area for comfortable eating. One steak was good, generous and juicy - but poorly trimmed and unable to cut due to poor quality knife, other not up to spec for best beef fillet (solomillo). Latter comment is from a person qualified ( as a meat scientist) to make that judgement! Could improve on both counts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A gem of a place. Quiet and exceedingly comfortable. Very spacious accommodation with superb facilities and interesting aspects to design. Enjoyed excellent steak dinners and plentiful breakfast. Would return without hesitation. Useful air con.
Cons: Seasonal pesky flies! An attractant killer would be a good investment!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Menu del dia good value
Cons: Having to walk across to the restaurant in the rain!
7.5 Good
Pros: We only had toast and jam
Cons: Probabitly ok in summer nothing open in winter
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice rustic B&B with lots of character and charm. Extremely clean & well kept. The room we had was a big suite with a lounge area, TV and sauna. We had room no. 113. Excellent value for money as we stayed a few days before Christmas on route to Southern Spain. Staff at the bar and restaurant were very nice and the food was delicious!! Would definitely come back especially in the summer.
Cons: Wasn’t so easy to find in the dark. Sat Nav took us to the right location but couldn’t see any signs in the dark. It just looks like a big house from the outside. Check in was across the road at the bar and restaurant.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything! The hotel was lovely, and Javier, our host, was just incredibly helpful and friendly. He spent some time getting us a permit for walking in the local national park, and made meals for us at the times we wished, rather than the normal spanish times! He even gave us a little liquid present as we left! Just remember if you come here that it is a very small village, with no shops, and a minimal number of bars/restaurants.
Cons: Nothing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: great breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful town, and decent, rather spacious rooms.
Cons: Our room didn't have a view, and that really was a huge disappointment. A room with just one tiny skylight can feel a bit like a cell.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The area is beautiful.
Cons: The room has no air conditioning and the breakfast was pretty poor (low quality food). We were charged for the breakfast 20€ when for an amazing dinner closeby we paid only 38€. Also it was very noisy in the night with kids screaming in the streets. And paradoxically this was an adults only hotel!

Pros: The owner, despite not speaking English, was very helpful and friendly. She made coffee to order with breakfast. Her restaurant was not open for dinner the nights we were there, but she suggested a place that was excellent. All in all a very comfortable historic property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service and friendly staff! So clean and fab location
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. The bed was extra comfortable. It was great value for money too. The view from Our window was fantastic, especially at sunset. (Picture included)
Cons: The only downside was that the wifi was more difficult than necessary to sign into. The restaurant choices were limited and vegetarians would have a tough time eating there.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice, if basic, room. Central location. Great architecture and views and excellent hiking.
Cons: Everything was basically fine but the breakfast, which is typical in Spain, left me hungry afterwards. I was there out of season but was still surprised to find most restaurants and the tourist office closed on Monday AND Tuesday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly. Quiet room. Nice building, nice balcony :)
Cons: The breakfast is fixed. We were still a bit hungry afterwards.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Well located and the breakfast was to my taste and represented the Spanish style breakfast with some additions.
Cons: The room was a little bit dark and too close to the other room opposite to it. Therefore, the curtain had to be kept closed. However, if you just sleep there it's excellent, because the mattress was really good, the room and bathroom clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful historic town set in the hills with stunning views. Very friendly and helpful Hostal owner.
Cons: Nothing really could have been better, but it is set on a hill with many steps, so make sure you are ok with this.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Wonderful hospitality, great meal, very quiet location. Extremely easy to park. Perfect for our first night in Spain.
Cons: Awkward shower but many are anyway.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was friendly and gentle. Sebulcor is well located with all you need in a small village. We liked the food, it was real home made.
Cons: We visited the place in july, so the temperature was above 30 deg. C and our room didn't have air conditioning, only a fan. If you open the window you will let flyes get in the room making the nigth a bit uncorfotable. It's not a big inconvenience because we knew that it's a village.
5.0 Okay
Cons: No air-conditioning which, in the height of Summer in the middle of Spain is less than ideal. We decided not to stay and we forfeited our non-refundable room charge!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable.
Cons: I felt like I was the only guest in the hotel, in a small town in the middle of nowhere. Perhaps the hotel and area is busier in peak season.

6.3 Good
Pros: Close to motorway Good restaurant. In centre of interesting village. Good breakfast included.
Cons: Dark, very basic room. In need of refurbishment, light switches not working etc.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was easy to find, just a few miles from the motorway exit and yet far enough to be out of earshot from the rumble of the traffic. There was plenty of off street unrestricted parking spots around the Plaza beside the hotel. Our drive north had been been delayed, so we rang the hotel who made a specific arrangement for a late entry after the usual 23:00 closure of reception in the bar. This was very accommodating and very much appreciated. Finally the room, accommodation for us and our dog plus breakfast for £35 represented exceptionally good value for money.
