Location very good. You get what you pay for.
The restaurant was excellent! Our room was in an adjacent building on the second floor with no lift.
Excellent location; interesting town, excellent dinner, pleasant staff Poor room, poor towels
Very good food, if a bit expensive
The manager tried very hard to overcome the shortcomings by whizzing around and being very pleasant and helpful The room was too small and claustrophobic - lovely old building had been gutted and filled with plastic box type rooms
Receptionist when we arrived was particularly welcoming and helpful. food was good - very old historic town was most interesting and well cared for photos of the hotel did not show that it sits right on the pavement of a busy high street and the noise that generates. also there is piped American/British style music all day in this High Street which is only turned off when the Town Hall people go home!! 2. The outside of the hotel is over 300 years old-------but the inside has been 100 % gutted - and the man made furniture moved in along with low ceilings - all very clean and tidy - fine for the business man, but as far as we were concerned all character had been lost.
Traditional French style. Good food. No hairdryer in room.
The helpful staff and food The negative selections above reflect the urgent need for the forthcoming rebuild of the hotel-clearly long overdue. The rooms, and we saw several, were very poor. When rebuilt, if the quality of staff is a marker, the hotel will be very satisfactory and can then be recommended
Clean and modern. Quiet location Did not realise it was on the outskirts of the town
The staff were friendly & helpful. The parking was good. I think the decor here is looking a bit tired.
Large secure car park and good breakfast Evening Meal
The hotel was very pleasant and the staff very helpful and welcoming. The air conditioning was also very welcome! The restaurant was poor - we had salmon which was not cooked properly and there were no apologies offered. Also rooms did not have hair driers / irons although they were available from reception.
Hotel is accessible most hours ,stakff very good.
offensive language It smelled throughout the hotel. Mainly old stale odours. The paint scheme was funerial and oppressive. It did nothing for the beauty of the building - I think you are missing a trick here..
Beautiful building and very comfortable room.Nice staff Everything was good for us
Staff was very accomodating and restaurant was quite good
Good restaurant, Good size clean rooms, Late Breakfast starts at 7am
Salies de Bearne The hotel room was very basic, even down to no hooks to hang your wet towels. The standard of cleanliness could of been better. The majority of the rooms are south facing, and as a result are overly hot. A sun canopy should be standard.
The hotel was lovely and in a beautiful spot, in fact we would have like to have stayed a few nights but our travels did not allow it. The receptionist was very charming and helpful.
This hotel has nothing to reccomend it other than the view of the golf course. The room was laughingly described as a 'comfort room'. It was not clean and was poorly furnished. The carpet edges were not vacuumed and there was litter behind the set of drawers. Beneath the single pillowcase the pillow was filthy. The shower was black with mould and the glass and tiles were thick with grime. I could go on....... We stayed in eight good hotels on this holiday but this was one foul.
Beautiful location wonderful views No shower curtain in triple room always mopping up no hospitality tray no choice of beer
A very nice and quiet place with a friendly atmosphere. Good, spacy room and a nice pool outside.
The welcome we had from the owners couldn't have been better, warm friendly atmosphere in a beautifully renovated property. This family really care about making sure their guests enjoy their stay to the full. We were also impressed by their environmentally friendly attitude. An absolute gem of a find! Nothing negative about this hotel at all.
A warm welcome. Well appointed and comfortable room. Good atmosphere and nice location.
Beautifully restored barn convertion excellent food, very friendly British owners, very relaxing
The peaceful vinyard strewn walks. The quality of the renovation of a Bearnaise barn into a modern hotel. The very helpful, but unobtrsuive owners. Leaving.........
Very friendly and helpful owners, lovely room in a beautiful setting. Nothing
This is a beautifully restored farmhouse that is comfortable and has very welcoming innkeepers.
Friendly hosts. Swimming pool. Clean room but a bit small. Many moths came into the room at night if windows open and light on.
Excellent value for money. A pleasant peaceful location. The pool was very welcome after a long journey. Very friendly and helpful staff. The meal provided was plain but good with bottle of wine included. There was no air conditioning in the room as stated on the booking form. The window had no mosquito screen. I was a little disappointed that the owners were not French. I had been looking forward to a French experience ,being our first day in France , however the french guests were very friendly and made up for this . No lift.
nice big clean room for very reasonable price. Personal touch friendly hosts none
The food is unbelievable, for a very very good price (but the remoteness of the area explains this as well). The hotel itself is nice but for a break or a holiday, I think it would be lacking some amenities for most business travellers (internet for instance).
The setting, the garden, the lovely furniture and confortable bed. The overwelming smell of cooking all over the hotel, especially in the bedroom, all pervading day and night. Lack of fresh air and poor ventilation. The heater in the bathroom was not working.
The surrounding landscape and scenery. The abrupt attitude and unfriendliness of the staff. The power was disconnected in our room between 12 midnight and 3 am. No reason given and no apology.
Friendly staff good facilities good food nice location well maintained One or two staff could do with customer training!
The food, the pool and the large family room Some of the staff were not particularly friendly or helpful
The peaceful setting was delightful and the food was excellent. The shower facilities were not quite of the standard one expects in quality French hotels.
The restaurant was exceptional - one of the best. The setting is idyllic
Our room was beautifully clean and spacious, with everything we could ask for. Peacefully located overlooking the hotels beautiful garden. I have very difficult dietary needs, and the wonderful chef was so accommodating, thoughtful and resourceful....I Would like to say that the other staff were wonderful too. So friendly and cheerful. We will certainly return. There was nothing to dislike.....I Would have been nice to have a tea making facility in the room as it was spacious and comfortable to sit in for afternooon tea, but this was provided in the lounge and we were never charged for it.
The room was a good size. The quilt they gave us for our baby was stained and dirty. No tea / coffee facilities in the room. DId not say on the website that the restaurant was closed on Friday and Saturdays.
Air conditioning in the rooms. The restaurant was expensive
Hotel in nice grounds. Nice garden, pool and terrace. Good food. Parking on site. Not far from the church and pretty town.
Friendly Hotel, good restaurent and service.Very convenient parking.
Leaving Arrived to find that 2 rooms had been reduced to 1 room as the hotel was overbooked.
the best thing about this hotel was leaving it within minutes of arrival. we decided not to stay at the hotel after arrival, even though this meant losing the cost of the booking. Our room overlooked the car park and was most uninspiring. this is really a motel. the situation of the hotel is dreadful. it faces onto a very busy main road and is miles from anywhere. once in this dreadful place you have to dine in the expensive restaurant or drive miles. we decided to abandon the stay and headed instead for Pau. Much better by far.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our evening meal was traditional and very good.
Very comfortable, breakfat was good, gym facilities I think the possibility of getting some hot water in the evening to makr a drink would have been appreciated
Although the restaurant was closed on the night we stayed. The owner of this beautifully converted chateau made us a delightful meal as we had been travelling all day. Small intimate hotel run by a husband and wife team that made us very welcome. Well worth a visit.
friendly owners, excellent food, beautiful rooms, very quiet a little bit out of town on the by pass
The helpful staff, swimming pool, delicious breakfast and dinner.
Welcome was excellent we were sorry not being able to stay longer. Definitely a place to come back too. (Next time we will ask for a larger room!) Too little light and sebsequent some difficulty closing the external shades from the windows.
Everything was perfect - a wonderful place and wonderful value for money
The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The hotel had a swimming pool and a nice garden (and donkeys!). We had the set menu in the evening and food was fantastic. We only stayed one night but I would definitely go back, if only for the food.
The nice staff, the garden and the pool. The animals. Noice traffic in room towards the road.
Situation and ambience
the hotel proprietor was very welcoming and charming, the room was nicely decorated, pretty and cosy.the evening meal was excellent and the pastry to die for! my only slight negative was the price of the wines which I thought were a bit on the high side
The charming owners were extremely helpful and welcoming. The accommodation was most attractive and comfortable.
