Clean, friendly, comfortable, decent breakfasts, big rooms, nicely decorated. The food exceeded expectations, but the chemically treated pineapple was discolored and tasted fishy every day.
Every Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in has been very clean and comfortable. I think these are the 2 most important things concerning any motel stay, in my opinion. Hampton Inns are kind of pricey. I'm sure this is a factor to many traveling people. On the other hand, "you get what you pay for."
Clean, comfortable, friendly housekeeping. pool was under construction. No notice. Was scheduled to be open a month prior to our stay. Breakfast ended at 10 and on vacations that means no sleeping in. I know for a fact I left shorts and headphones in the room and they are gone. Called te hotel to go back and retrieve them and nobody found them. Only one day of wifi when I booked 2.
For my purposes, the location was perfect - right on the strip along with Lowe's, WalMart, Kroger's, and chain restaurants. I could make a grocery store stop, hit the restaurant for dinner, and then crash in my room at the end of some very long days. All the hotel staff were friendly. I'm an older woman who does a lot of solo traveling, and I felt very safe in this location and in the hotel. I'll probably stay here again if I return. The room was clean, but everything was dusty. Even the bathroom counter was dusty behind the coffee maker supply tray. Several times, the TV had only a blank screen when I turned it on. A hard reset (unplugging for 2 min, then plugging it back in) did the trick, but it was a bother. The front desk clerk told me it was a recurring problem with their TVs, so I understand they wouldn't be able to afford to replace them all when they aren't really broken.
the bed was uncomfortable and sagged in the middle. it was difficult to sleep.
Had to unplug the fridge in our room because it was so loud and the hot tub was broken.
My room was clean, had a fridge and a microwave. Bed was comfy and I wanted to steal the pillows, which I didn't and not just because there was some dye pack thing in them. Breakfast was typical, a carb fest, but the hard boiled eggs were a nice go to. The walls are paper thin and my fridge was noisy.
Beautiful location, scenery, rooms. Great value. Restaurant food was reasonably priced and tasty. Because we were there with the Outdoor Women group we used the buffet and box lunches. No complaints there at all. The paint peeling on the bathroom ceilings. The accumulation of cobwebs in various places (lights, windows). The employees' poor grammar, visible tattoos, cigarettes placed where guests could see them, and their use of mild swear words. I think some in-service workshops could really help them.
The room was clean and fresh looking. The beds were comfortable. The HVAC unit worked nicely. even the late night check in was friendly (1:25 am)!!! This is now our go to place when visiting Athens! Towels were thin. Breakfast only until 9 am, after our 1:25 am check-in we missed breakfast. 10 am would have been nice but this was not a deal breaker!
Outskirts of Athens near highway, room had all basics Room smelled like stale smoke even though it was a non smoking room; the air out of the AC, which is ancient, smelled awful; the water fixtures were old and did not work correctly - literally pulled off the handle at the sink when trying to turn it on; clothing iron was missing; booked online, so they didn't want to give me a receipt and then the one I got didn't have a price on it. It had all the basics, but could really use a good cleaning (bleach, carpet clean, aired out)
Distance to Ohio University wasn't bad. Paid for room with two twin beds or a king. Got a room with a single and a roll away. Had to have staff fiddle with the shower to get it to work - it was "quirky". Towels were all the quality if floor towels. Battery on tv remote was dead.
Absolutely nothing. Please, do yourself a favor and pay the extra money to stay at the Baymont. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot I knew I couldn't stay at this place. First off, it's a motel- don't let the pictures fool you. And if you think it looks sketchy from the outside- wait until you get your room key. I was booked in a non-smoking room, however the smell of cigarettes and must took over the moment I stepped inside. I had read previous reviews about the "cleanliness" of the place so I did a thorough inspection when I entered. I didn't freak out about the dead flies in the window sill or the random/disgusting smudges on the wall, however, when I saw a giant dead bug on the carpet I knew it was over. I promptly went to the front desk to ask for help and frankly to suggest they refund my card so I could seek accommodations that were a bit better. I was told by the front desk that I would have to speak to the owners daughter about the refund. When she was called and didn't answer, I was told by the woman at the front desk "she's not going to call back, she never does if it's about the hotel." I decided to suck it up, lose one nights rate, and check myself into a much cleaner and nicer Baymont down the road. Best decision ever. Here's the bottom line: this place is dirty, smelly, a tad bit sketchy, AND the employees (and apparently the manager/owner) are both rude and unprofessional. Save yourself the trouble and stay anywhere else.
Clean and updated room. Friendly staff. Easily accessible. Fuzzy TV.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. Hocking Hills State Park is right down the road and easy to find. The wifi signal was, as with most hotels these days, very weak. Room decor was a little dated, if that kind of thing bugs you. Downtown Logan was right across the freeway, and I thought the city was kind of a dump. There really isn't much to do there other than the State Park, which is beautiful and the main reason to go to this area!
Staff was great. Very clean. Pool/hot tub was a nice touch. Loved the deck that overlooked pool No DVD player in room or complimentary soda which was promised.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed our room. We were luck enough to be able to reserve a smoking room which is a very nice luxury to have. The continental breakfast had some good choices and was a nice way to start off our day. The hotel was located close to a Walmart which was very convenient. I did not think that the room was worth was nearly $200 we paid. The location was 20 minutes away from the parts of Hocking Hills that we were visiting (Ash Cave and Old Man's Cave). While the room was nice, the shower drained slowly. I was standing in over ankle deep water at the end of each of my 15 minute showers. And channels that my boyfriend and I consider pretty basic, like Cartoon Network, were not available.
Internet, a/c, tv, bed, shower, slept fine. The non-smoking room smelled like cat urine and the carpet was damp by the sink and bathroom but literally wet beside the bed. Couldn't do my morning stretched in the floor. Wouldn't call the coffee, juice and little muffins offered breakfast, but the host did offer to make hot water for tea which I declined.
This place could have been cleaner and better maintained.
Very clean room. Had fridge and microwave. Pretty dated. Rough sheets. Had a slightly odd smell.
Great location near the bike path and farmers market. Friendly staff. Very good price Na
I usually try to avoid hotels under a certain price because you just don't know what you're going to get. But the cost of this hotel was half of what other hotels were and I got a clean and comfortable room. I was staying for one night to visit my son at Ohio U so all I needed was somewhere to sleep and shower. I stayed in the back building which is newer than the original main buidling. THere were not many frills, but overall I was very pleased and will definitely stay here again.
The beds were very comfotable and the location was excellent. The breakfast choices were limited but fresh and storef properly. Rooms needed updated. Front staff person could have had more patience as we were checking in.
Everything was very clean. Front desk very helpful. Rooms are a little outdated.
Friendly stsff Need to update electrical outlets to accomodate 3 prongs
