Nice hotel and setting I found the hotel very impersonal. We weren't informed about the boat which goes around the lake as a form of transport, when we asked the best way to shops etc., we were told to use a taxi which cost €30 for a short trip. There is a stop for the boat, which is much cheaper to get around and far more pleasant, just in front of the hotel.
Bar staff was wonderful, friendly, prompt, attentive etc. Relaxing in the bar was very comfortable and enjoyable.
Great room and facilities perfect
beautiful site of hotel. we had a room overlooking the lawn and a view of the lake. the maitre d'hotel at the restaurant helpfull and efficient. the quality of the bread was not so good. 15 euro per day parking fee felt a bit steep considering the hotel rates;
We had a marvellous time and were well looked after. The staff were attentive without being pushy. The lakeside restaurant is a particularly idyllic setting. Not a dislike, but a suggestion - an individual daily paper delivered to the room (albeit a day behind if English).
The location is excellent. Right on Lake Como. Staff was very helpful. Piano bar made the nights much more fun. Great restaurants, we had a fantastic dinner.
The hotels location and the Imperiale restaurant The hotel arranged the transfer back to the airport. It was the most hair raising experiance we have ever had
The hotel staff were excellent in all egards. The location was spectacular. The food and bar service were of particular enjoyment. The hotel could use better signage regarding what to do with your car upon arrival. I initially used a pay lot that I thought was connected with the hotel only to learn that the hotel has its own parking structure, but it was not well marked.
You had to pay for a wifi connection - unbelievable considering how much you pay per night
Great cocktails in beautiful bar Beautiful views of the lake and gardens Very well located close to Cernobbio and Como All services available All amenities were functioning well. Comfortable spaces. Quiet rooms. Outdated style and decoration
The staff are helpful, but not too intrusive. The location is fantastic and it's great to have the pool as I'd certainly never swim in the lake! The rooms are a bit sparsely furnished which makes it feel a bit cold.
location, lake view small television in the room
The hotel has an excellent location on Lake Lario (Como) with easy access to water taxi services
This hotel is in a beautiful setting, right on Lake Como, with the Ferry adjacent! A wonderful place to relax and breathe!
The lake view is spectacular. The beds were not very good. Creaky and thin mattress.
This hotel was the best....the staff always going the extra mile to help you...the view is breathtaking...the breakfast was delicious and varied. Best hotel in Italy in our trip.
Easy atmosphere, well run, well staffed and overall very friendly place to go to. None.
It's not as touristy as the other cities on lake como. It was very easy to get around since the ferry is literally right outside the hotel steps. T The wifi was terrible. This seems to be the case for most of Europe, but it as quite frustrating since that was our main means of getting around.
The staff was excellent and very helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Parking was free. Breakfast was good. Excellent location. It should be known that there are additional costs for lake views, this information was not available at the time of the booking. Also that full board was available and what was the cost of this option.
Very helpful and pleasent staff Nice large room with comfortable bed excellent location for ferry. Poor breakfast for a 4* hotel power bath and shower did not work properly Air conditioning did not work properly
Nice hotel right on Lake Como, easy walk to Villa Carlotta and Villa Barbianello. TV needs to be updated and more English speaking channels. no wifi in room.
A lovely hotel with beautiful views of Lake Como. Free parking and a beautiful buffet breakfast.
Lovely hotel and very nice staff.
I stayed at Hotel Aurora with a group of friends. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the restaurant on the lake was lovely and we all felt we would love to stay there again!
Access to swim in Lake como. I didn't care for the music all day down at the Solarium. Sometimes, I just want to relax with nothing in the background.
Everthing, location, really helpfull and friendly staff speaking fluent English, the decking by the lake, their excellent restaurant. Noise from restaurant late on Saturday night Sunday morning
Great staff - helpful - very friendly
A peaceful alternative to Bellagio - nice staff - new seaside building is very charming with great views and nice rooms. Breakfast could have been better - but if wasn't below average.
the owner could not do enough for us and even drove us into bellagio to get the boat and also helped us to plan our days and printed out timetables nothing at all
They were so helpful and accomodating. Ferries only in that area a few times a day but a safer way to get around instead of driving.
nice surroundings, picturesque environment and an excellent restaurant with local specialities but international wines; great views from the garden only Italian is spoken, breakfast was finished at 9.30 on a Sunday morning
Very friendly and helpfull proprietor. Excellent cooking. The hotel has obviously had a lot of investment in the infrastructure and the quality really shows. It is located in a quiet location away from the busy roads and train lines around Lake Maggiore. Barking dog through the night spoiled the advantage of the quiet location.
It gives you the feeling of isolation up in the mountains and still it is cloce to the town and the lake. The atmosphere is of a big lovely family. No
the hotel provides a wonderful panorama to the lake comer, there is a small chapel next to it and the morning view with lake and grass is indeed mind blowing. hotel restaurant offers authenticated italian food, most of the visitors are locals, and food is great. not easy to find it, our navi almost led our car to crash.
Charming, quiet hotel about a 10 minute drive up the mountain from Lake Como. Large, clean, and comfortable room. Good buffet breakfast, and popular dinner restaurant in evening frequented mainly by locals. From hotel, great views further up mountain and also down to village of Argegno, on the lake, from which there is a good ferry service to all around Lake Como.
Our stay was first rate in every respect. We were attending a wedding in Argegno so did not use the facilities at La Griglia as much as we might otherwise have done.
Hotel restaurant serve really delicious food with good value of money. I had the best spagetti that I ever had before. I notice that even local people come to have dinner here. Hotel location itself is on the hill with lake view and have a nice garden. Only 25 mins walk to city center.
Very friendly people and a fantastic restaurant with excellent authentic food. The restaurant in the glass conservatory was lovely and the atmosphere was vibrant and authentic italian,
the place and the atmosphere nothing
very good service, didnt feel like a number..very personal, great value for money for the location no kettle in room
The very friendly staff and the location on the lake
Friendly people, Excellent kitchen (the best in the area), it is a real traveler hotel. The rooms can use an upgrade
Attached to a very good restaurant. Limited but good parking in a town where parking is almost impossible. Excellent breakfast. Run by a very friendly and helpful family. Strongly recommended! Rooms decor reminiscent of the 70s, but perhaps this is part of its charm.
A lovely family owned and run hotel on the Lake shore. Located across the road from the ferry wharf. Food in the restaurant and service was exceptional. Room was very comfortable with lake views.
staff very frienly, good food .For everything you need they have they help you as much as possible.
Great place to stay with good view of the lake. The breakfast was excellent. The bed and pillows were hard.
We loved the Management and Staff (all owner and family) were excellent, as was the food and beverage, service and attitude, facilities and parking, location, and view. Better pillows would be about it! Loved the place.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was excellent.
The view to the lake was fantastic, the food in the restarant was very good and the staff was very sweet. Breakfast: no bread left when we arrived for breakfast at 9.00 a.m. Location: a bit far away from everything, would only recommend the hotel as a one night stopover.
Well situated. Very noisy room under the kitchen. Also lot of noise coming from the street. Poor breakfast and very bad pizzas.
It was a great hotel just in front of the lake and very convinient location if you have a car, very nice resto, clean, value for money!
Hotel staff is very nice. The breakfast was very good. The room was not vacuumed when I arrived or during my visit. The street noise was very loud. If you don't have a car, getting around is a drag.
It well-suited our requirements for comfort and ease of access. The breakfast was good and plentiful and the staff were very helpful. However, if travelling there from Como by local transport (20mins journey) be sure to ask for Hotel San Marino, Laglio bus stop directly opposite the hotel - (follow the route by a local map). We had a very unco-operative bus driver who told us to get off 1.5km beforehand and placed us at a very vulnerable location (extremely busy, unwalkable road) in a serious thunderstorm. Thank goodness we had the hotel telephone number who arranged for a taxi to come to find us. No
Loction was excellant with fantastic views. Local transport to the main town was good.Staff at the resort was very helpful, room was very well furnished and the meals were great.
Cleanliness Breakfast, not enough
The views, the dining room and an extremly nice and helpful couple running it! It's situation is a little isolated but served by a good bus service. The road infront of the hotel is very busy but did not spoil our stay.
everything, except the "new" part of the hotel yes, I booked because I liked the rooms and the atmosphere inside of this hotel, like the pictures on the website, but when I arrived they gave me another room in the "new" part of the hotel, round the corner
The view!!! No
We were pleasantly surprised with the accomodations at the hotel argegno. our balcony rooms on the second fllor gave us an awesome view of lake como.
Good; the staff were very friendly, and Argegno is an excellent central location on Lake Como! It wasn't quite 5 star, but then I wasn't paying *that* much cash...
The room was clean, good view of the lake from our balcony, free breakfast that was pretty good in the morning.
The owner was friendly The TV in the room is so small and old.
The room was very clean and comfortable (great bed), and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was included and was good. The bathroom was very clean and the shower had fantastic water pressure. Overall, a great place to stay for those on a budget.
Too many to mention, the hotel, staff, accommodation, food, scenery, room, decor, value for money all excellent, will reccomend highly and look forward to staying there again None
Beautiful location, very children friendly, excellent food, friendly staff, clean, nice room with fantastic view. After 8 straight holiday-days with rain in Norway, we wanted to escape to somewhere warm and nice, where our kids aged 2 and 5 could enjoy themselves. This hotel was the perfect choice. Now we are back in the rain, wish we had stayed longer. No.
The rooms are very clear. The dinner is delicious. The manager,Anna-Lisa is very polite and helpful. We made a new friend. We'll strongly recommend this hotel to all our friends. The place is unique. We promise to visit it again. It would be much better if the price of appartments included cleaning service.
+ The friendlyness of the hotel manageress is first class + Room No. 4 is very "tranquillo" (silent room), we can recommend the hotel to everyone. Safe car parking warranted. Nice garden with pool. The italian style food in the restaurant made our mouth water.
Our stay at La Torre was made special by the wonderful and energetic hostess who speaks multiple languages fluently and who takes time to chat with each guest/group of guests individually. The room itself was spacious and clean. Our room was at the front and this can make it a bit noisy due to the road that runs right in front of the hotel. However, it's a mountain road, so not too busy during the night.
Good hotel, the manager really wants you to feel at home and will do her utmost!
Great place, excellent staff and service. Very reasonable prices in the restaurant. The recommended direction to reach the hotel coming from Switzerland leads you via very small and winded mountain roads. Difficult for larger cars and easy to get lost. Much easier to come up from Como - even if 10 km longer.
The restaurant is excellent as well as the hotel staff. Breakfast was also good. Good value for money and the staff really do their utmost to make your stay as convenient as possible.
Analisa , the hotel manager is an amazing woman !!!!! the rooms are clean , the food ( breakfast and dinner ) is tasty , to make this short : this the place that I will come back
Andreea’s hospitality and friendliness, knowledge of the area and helpfulness in providing directions, traffic details and area events, etc; Location- up in the mountains but only 7 km from Lake Como, great view of the surrounding mountains ; excellent restaurant and service; private parking- very rare feature for most of the hotels in the area. The rooms facing the mountains are the best, where the rooms facing the road(great view from the balcony!) may be affected a bit by the noise of the traffic. Noisy bathroom exhaust fans!!!( in process of being fixed!)
Loved everything about this place. Stayed in a superior room with a fireplace and small balcony. Great views of the mountainside, especially on the hiking trails. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was great, fresh ingredients and romantic atmosphere. The breakfast was a typical Italian buffet breakfast but with special touches like the fresh grapes and honey. Staff/owners were very friendly and accomodating, including their bear sized dog. Definitely use the coordinates in your gps, the roads on the way there a veeerry small and twisty. Although the drive is difficult, it is more than worth it!
Staff people The bed was "double bed" but it had two mattress, therefore it was not confortable
Friendly personnel, with nice rooms and a good atmosphere. Nice fresh products (from the farm). A nice place to be.
very friendly, good people, lovely local food , very rural but non the worse for that. good value for money, room was warm and cosy, not too fussy- just right.
The view is very beautiful, the place is quiet and peaceful, breakfest is homemade and very good, the location is close to Como lake (about 10 minutes by car). The room is a bit small.
Great Service, great food, great views, I enjoyed every aspect of the stay. I recommend taking z good walk around the farm to meet the animals :) It is a long drive to the Hotel but the road is a nice adventure.
The ambiance of the place is just wonderful, owners and people who work on the farm are friendly and really kind and a great laugh. Position is just fabulous right up in the hills around Como. You can't see the lake but there are great walks starting very near the B&B that take you to great views across the lake (you have to be a bit fit), with little refuges where you can get a good coffee (of course!) and a bun. The food in the B&B could not be better almost all sourced from the farm, home cooked and fantastic value. The breakfast with its homemade cakes yum yum.. Its 5 steep miles uphill from the lake and when your on a bike thats a bit of a disadvantge :o)
The hotel was in an interesting area in the hills surrounding lake Como. However I feel that this hotel would have been better described as a working farm. Unfortunatley you get things that are associated with farms such as flies and other unwelcome noises and smells. However there was a good atmosphere with very helpful staff.
the location is more than great, the staff is nice and the rooms are great. the fact you had to pay extra for the fire place and that they charge 7.5 (!!!) euro for wire less internet.
Rare location for disposal of hotel, very beautiful scenery, nice view, pretty wild place. Kind hosts, who served homemade and delicious food. Pleasant conditions in the hotel section. Very difficult access to the hotel, especially at night, a narrow road with many bends.
nice uphill location with a fantastic view to the Lago di Como, good breakfast, quiet, spacious bathroom missing mosquito net at the windows, rooms could be a little bit bigger, paper thin walls,
Friendliness and service were excellent. Good menu and nice wine cellar 'bar'. The location in the mountains was ideal. Air conditioning was not effective but it was not really necessary.
It was situated in a pleasant, quiet area. The food was excellent and do try at least one evening meal at the hotel.
A very friendly hotel in a nice location just up the hills from the village. The food was very good and they had an excellent wine celler were you could taste some gret wines,
Arhitecture of hotel-local area-driving to the hotel-room-food-staff.
It is our second time in this hotel, and we again enjoyed it very much. Very near to the Como lake, very familiar, very clean and nice food!
Fresh picked raspberries for breakfast, nice secluded hotel in the countryside along a creek. Old world style. Secure parking. Facilities are new with an old look to them. Very nice. Fun road to drive to get to the hotel. Everything was excellent. A little out of the way, but that is the idea. Bring a GPS.
The quite location and tasteful presentation of the property and the availability of a restaurant. The room was very dark with few windows. The restaurant was unavailable on a Sunday. One of the meals we had was inedible.
Fabio, the owner, is a friendly and wonderful host who loves to share thoughts about Italy and especially food. A charming guy who makes you feel at home. The rooms are pretty thin-walled, but that is only a minor complaint since our baby was the one making the noise!
Very rustic room, familiar ambience and extraordinary food.
The hotel was really fresh and the staff was very nice. The mountain view was breathtaking. The properties around the hotel did not match the feeling of the hotel.
Very relaxing location. Highly recommend the restaurant.
The location was amazing and Fabio (the owner) was great. Definitely recommend having dinner in their restaurant as well! The walls were a bit thin and we had noisy people next door.
Fabio was an excellent host and made us feel as if we were spending time with friends. He went out of his way to be hospitable and to make suggestions for a day trip. The food at the hotel was outstanding and very reasonably priced. After a busy day of sightseeing it was wonderful to come back to the hotel for a lovely home cooked meal with a charming host recommending good wine to go with the meal.
