beautiful lakeside view from restaurant area. We were given a room in the old section. Had booked a deluxe room based on photos from internet. Disappointing for the price. Old uninviting room with outdated decor and minimum of facilitiies. No mini-bar. Not what we expected from a 4-star hotel selling deluxe double rooms. Ordered extra bed for our 3 year old child. Bed was of poor quality and unusable. Breakfast included was mediocre.
Food is excellent
Location Limited parking
The area is nice with the view of the lakes nearby. The rooms we had facing the streets was very noisy. Traffic seems to go on well pass midnight, and started early in the morning. Rooms very warm in the summer which meant we had to open the windows.
The rooms were very clean. The staff was very friendly. The food was great. Good location.
Clean, Good Breakfast, Helpful staff, wonderful setting, close proximity to the town. Not easy to find. SAT Nav required. The signage for the hotel should be improved
Relaxing atmosphere, comforatble room, nice view from room, good dinner a little bit old style, no Internet!!!
Slightly impersonal feel.
Great location, friendly staff and large rooms
Room big and comfortable, breakfast and evening meals excellent The location was not as expected. Web site indicated Lake views but Hotel firmly in the centre of the town with view of opposite houses only.
Perfect staff, very good dinner especially ice cream in restaurant We did not like breakfast in the hotel
Unlike some other visitors I found the room & bathroom size to be plenty large enough (however I was in a "double let as a single"). I especially enjoyed the on-site Pub - much nicer than the typical hotel restaurant I was expecting. The pub building looked suitably old, though I expect the internal "rustic" fittings were much more recent. The Pub had a good atmosphere, good beer and interesting Westphalian dishes. There seemed to be at least two poltergeists - one in the main block flicking the fire doors open and shut every few seconds and one in the pub - constantly rattling the door to the rest rooms - ok, I think it was a trick of the ventilation - perhaps I will go back for Halloween just to check. I could not connect to wifi in my room - there was a signal, but no connection. I think others had this problem as there were several of us camped out in reception with laptops. €14 Euro for breakfast - wow! - ok for a leisurely Sunday brunch but all I wanted was a bowl of muesli - so I stopped off at aldi the night before and bought 1kg of cereal, 1l of milk and a nice plastic bowl and spoon - and all for much less than €14!
