WLan is included. The staff is very friendly. 5 km far from the next restaurant. A little dirty, but enough for one night.
Easy to find, good value breakfast, friendly staff Rooms very close to the function room so unacceptable noise for a lot of the night as there was a function in progress.
THe family room is very spacious and large. The hotel is perfect for either a stop over on the way to other places or as a place to stay for visting the surrounding areas.
very pleasant staff good value for money
No air conditioning is aproblem
Directions to hotel very poor
Hotel staff are helpful with information about direction to the local places, restaurants. There is a free computer available for customers to use in the lobby of the hotel. Bathroom is small and uncomfortable to use. They should provide free hotel parking instead of charging customers.
The size of the room and the cleanliness were very good
The breakfast and some of the staff. However, staff with little English were sullen and sometimes rude. Rude staff, particularly in the restaurant. My wife had a tea bag thrown onto the table after dinner
Staff is very nice and friendly (especially that they were serving dinner and doing reception). Rooms are clean and reasonable size. Is a very good hotel for 2 stars. It is not in the center of the town (there are restaurants very close, and the prices displayed do not include tax) but for us it was a very good location in exploring the Loire valley.
easy to get to from A10; food available on site; menu in English was same prices as in French (another chain it wasn't!) should have been advised to book a table for the evening meal
Had a comfortable overnight stay on our way home to the UK. It had every facility we needed. Will use again
Leaving was the best bit. It was over-priced and offered nothing. The room was small, cramped and airless, smokers frequenting balcony outside rooms made non-smoking rooms a joke. Noisy. Fan in bathroom didn't work.
Friendly approachable staff most of whom spoke English, easy parking, restaurant, good sized room, complimentary tray, WIFI,close to the motorway and some shops, and for me personally it is close to Trousseau hospital. I would prefer to pay for WIFI and have a secure site but this is a minor detail.I always choose to stay in a Campanile hotel if possible when I am in France as I like Campanile very much.
Beautiful chateau/rooms/space/countryside and quiet. Excellent food.Professionally managed. It took over 1/2 hour to get our wine opened even whilst our 1st course meal was served on the table. The sommelier ignored us deliberately whilst he bigmouthed/chatted about himself to other tables with the focus on him not customer service. We were very upset by this attitude.
The hotel has beautiful public areas that can be viewed by all. The staff are extremely friendly and charming. The restaurant did not meet my levels of expectation; I did not feel that I got value for money and the atmosphere was strained. The degustation in the cellar was an extreme disappointment- 3 tastes of mediocre local wine that was limited to still white and did not reflect the area's potential.
A beautiful chateau in a beautiful location. Nothing
The room was lovely, with fantastic views. The staff were superb and dinner amazing.
Lovely location and building. Room was finewith a large, comfortable bed. The food was well cooked and nicely presented. The practice now in France (but not in Paris) whereby one has to order desert at the start of a meal.
Services at the restaurant as well as at the bar were disappointing. The bar was too noisy for such an "expected" atmosphere.
Lovely location Excellent restaurant great breakfast good helpful staff Pillows could be better
Decor was attractive, staff helpful, setting nice. I thought dinner in the restaurant was a little over priced, considering that we were able to find other restaurants within a few miles of similar quality with lower prices.
I thought your Chateau was gorgeous and well manicured I thought your breakfast buffet was lacking with only one hot item--eggs and the selection of pastries was fair, no availability to order from a menu. In addition, we ordered room serice of pasta and salad. The pasta portion was very soft and inedible. Because of this room service we chose to not eat dinner at the chateau.
The room and grounds were beautiful With a few notable exceptions the staff was unfriendly to the point of rudeness. They would ignore you when you came in, never smile, and were outright rude if you asked a question that made them actually work. I asked for a receipt showing that I paid at the end rather than one showing an outstanding balance and they refused!!
The hotel has been renovated from an old horse changing station, where travelers would have changed horses or spent the night. We like that you can still imagine that past within the hotel; it isn't hidden and it adds charm and character. Everything was clean, the rooms seem to be named after Loire chateaux (we were in the Amboise room, which was beautiful), the staff were absolutely wonderful and very attentive. We had the breakfast buffet, which we thought was very good: ham, choice of cheeses, yogurt, fruit (fresh and dried), croissants and baguette as well as assorted pastries, hard boiled eggs, toast, coffee with warmed milk, juice...all plentiful and delicious. We would happily stay here again; it is a good base for exploring the area with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Plus it is literally a 5 minute walk to the Azay-le-Rideau chateau, which is not to be missed. We felt welcomed and very comfortable here. Recommended!
The unusual accommodation, the ambiance, the restaurant, and the beautiful crocuses flowering in the hotel grounds. the quality of the shower in our room.
Fabulous experience. The staff were so helpful & friendly. The bedroom decor and fitting are of a high quality. The food in the restraunt was firs class as ws the service Shower screen was not ideal - got the floor wet, but tha was it!
# Restaurant excellent - menu, quality, staff and service. # Hotel staff pleasant and helpful. # Convenient location for exploring the Loire Valley region, close - by car - to Tours, airport, train station, main chateaux etc. # Limited drinks range in hotel bar. # Lack of atmosphere and facilities meant an evening in the hotel/bar not a realistic alternative to travelling to town (which requires driving) # Lack of full room service facility. # Rooms (in outbuilding), while clean are somewhat tired and in need of overhaul and updating # Insufficient car parking spaces meant footpaths and public areas were full with parked cars.
The Domaine was a beautifully situated chateau with large, comfortable rooms, a great restaurant and very friendly staff who provided great service. Only quibble is that breakfast was quite overpriced.
Peace, calm, lovely staff, location, and beauty of chateau and gardrns Food
It was like stepping into a romance novel. The room and the view of the Loire Valley was superb! The cuisine was some of the most enjoyable "gastronomique" that we have tasted. Coming during late September we got a glimpse of the fall foliage. Outstanding! Easy access to all the other chateaux of note. We are eager to return.
Excellant restaurant Over priced compared with other accomodation in the Loire.
The location. the building. the breakfast. the staff. the fires the view No kettle in the room to make tea and coffee. Hairdryer not strong enough
Everything I expected from the website: a very impressive building, delightful grounds, very attentive staff, a comfortable room and an excellent restaurant. None
My wife and I did not like the shower or toilet,it was very small,it was cleaned but there was a lot to be desired
We used the hotel as an overnight on a trip from the UK to Spain. We only had one night booked originally. Unfortunately my friends car broke down in Tours and we ended up staying for three nights. The staff were excellent at re-scheduling our booking and also finding us space for all of our luggage. Very, very helpful.
My partner is disabled and had requested disabled room. This was not possible and the wheelchair didnt go any further than just inside the door. This we found was politicaly incorrect.
value for money everything ok
Hotel intéressant tant pour le prix que pour la facilité d'accès, nuit reposante au cours cours d'un voyage Lyon-Brest Système de fermeture de la porte des wc-sdb cassée
central location to visit the chateau's arround
Bedding seemed to be infested with bugs
Close to Tours Airport was it's only good point. Tiny rooms Miniature cabin bathroom
Check in was fine. Friendly staff The bathroom was basic, like on a cross channel ferry
breakfast poor directions about locating the hotel
Staff were excellent - polite and helpful at all times. Room was basic but clean and good for a one night stay. Location good because easy to find so it meant we could continue with our onward journey the next dauy with ease. Hotel is also close enough to go into Tours City centre for an evening meal.
Staff was very helpful and the room was clean. We had a car so we could travel easily into Tours and into the Valley to visit the castles. Without a car, some research would be required to figure out transportation into downtown Tours.
The loction was good for us/ as we planned to go outside Tours. The Room and the hotel were very pleasant. It is a new hotel, but there is no lift. It was very hard for us to get to the room with all our laggage!!! We were really disappointed....
It was an adequate hotel to suit our purpose. We were on the way to Calais from Spain and it's a great stop off. Very easy access from the motorway. Not the kind of hotel you'd spend any time in but simple and clean. Literally only used the room, we ate out as didn't really fancy the restaurant in the foyer.
The room was basic but clean and was perfect for a 1 night stopover. It did have the facility to make coffee or tea in your room, which was nice. Wifi worked perfectly in the room and the carpark is secured by a gate which closes at midnight. No extra charge for parking your car. Easy access from the motorway. The restaurant was closed for dinner but this was not a problem because the neighbouring Campanile restaurant was open which is a 2 minute walk.
Friendly reception staff willing to translate anything in English, decent breakfast buffet. A pleasant surprise for a 2-star hotel. The "how to use the internet" instructions in the room were plain wrong (and seemed to be for a different hotel/chain?); the restaurant served a daily menu dinner choice with two options, but the regular menus were still on the tables, resulting in a bit of false advertising.
The hotel was modern, with some touches of design elements. The room was rather small, but served us well for one night. The hotel is convenient for guest traveling by car and offers free parking. The breakfast was a little too basic, but was presented very delicatly.
helpfulness of staff under stressfull circumstances on outward journey to UK better choice of menu for both evening meals and breakfast and the possibility of being in englisThis is just a personal opinion.
all of it, the view, the owners, the room the service the location and the quiet delightful pool. well initially the small limited menu all based on a salad style. But the salads are their speciality and are big bold and very satisfying in terms of differing content of say meat or fish
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the restaurant food was excellent. They didn't have tea or coffee making facilities in the room
Secure night car park with much wine in car-- nice pool in late Sept still in use. Good buffet breakfast On a Retail Park industrial estate -- no other choice to eat apart from Ibis next door. Drinks price hiked up !!!! £ 12.00 for a beer & wine Limited economy menu -- Kyriad knocks spots off their deal
Very efficient and professional reception when we arrived. The receptionist was happy to speak English which was a relief after a five hour drive. The hotel is conveniently located close to the motorway for an overnight stay roughly half way between the Toulouse area and Cherbourg. It might have been difficult to find the hotel without the aid of a satnav.
Always a marvelous welcome from your staff. I hope your cleaning staff can switch to unscented products soon.
the staff was kind and the room was clean, the city-breakfast was good and served quickly the staff in the restaurant was not prepaired for the number of clients to serve the first night and so our meal was cold and the meat (poulet) was cooked to much and dryed out when we where finally served
Very big room and this is so hard to find when going to France. Very good breakfast included in the room rate. Pool and playing space for the kids. Big parking space. Away from the city. AC was automatically settled to a very low lever and could not be sent in the room.
Great location We were charged extra for parking in the hotel car park and were not told until we paid at the end.
The location is fine close to the centre of the charming village of Azay le Rideau. There are some excellent restaurantes to eat at within a short walk and beautiful scenery along the Loire valley a half hour cycle ride away. Hotel staff were friendly and met all our requests promptly. free wi fi a bonus. The rooms are rather small ( though clean ) and we had to ask for facilities to make a hot drink. Rooms at the front of the hotel are pleasant with the balcony but are subject to traffic noise from before 7 am (particularly those irritating mopeds) a problem made worse by the location of the hotel on the main road out of town. Breakfast is 11 euros per person - perhaps to discourage.
Convenient location for local sights Aircon not working for some time in my opinion
Convenient location to visit local castles. Sweet little town.Staff helpful, but spoke little English.
Close to town centre, but immediate surroundings disappointing. Noise from toilets being used in adjoining rooms along with the noise of guests arriving and leaving the hotel resulted in a sleepless night.
It was not so big hotel so there was no elevator. It was hard to bring up heavy luggage to second floor.
Centrally located with free parking. A 5 minute walk to the Chateau, cafe's restaurants etc. Good wifi connection and comfortable room. Breakfast was OK but a little overpriced.
Friendly helpful staff and lovely breakfast including some home baked cakes. Our room was pretty small
The location was excellent. It was within walking distance of the chateau and there were plenty of places to eat dinner. Room had an odor, walls paper thin and we could clearly hear the people in the next room and across the hall. Bed very short.
The hotel is a rare gem of a place. Stay there if you can get in. Breakfast is wonderful, rooms are as comfortable as they can be, coffee and tea are always available. The atmosphere will revive you like no other place.
charming location, helpful staff
Rooms were very comfortable , staff were very friendly and having an english speaking person was very helpful as our french limited. The tea/coffee facilities downstairs are a brilliant idea and very much needed after long journey.
A delightful hotel situated very close to the river. Hotel staff were very friendly. Room excellent, bathroom had no shower, only bath with shower attachment. Very good rate (off season deal?). Did not sample breakfast which they said was very good. Would have preferred to take a shower than a bath. Thursday is their market day and they set up just outside the hotel, so it was noisy in the morning - not their doing.
A marvelous little hotel. Very welcoming by reception. Tea provided on arrival. Very large room. Very modern and clean bathroom. Very good breakfast. More expesive hotels could learn a lot from a place like this.
Excellent accompanying map made finding hotel easy. Friendly and helpful service.
Location was excellent for visits to local chateaux; good restaurants in town. Bath only available - a little dangerous to get in and out of; shower is preferred (but not a small shower - in a small shower you either knock of the water supply or cannot showere properly. A small shower is one less than 1 metre x 1 metre)
Friendliness. Breakfast Did not serve dinner. Garden could have been better.
The bed was extremely comfortable. Lovely high ceilings and lots of light in our room. Not able to get good TV channels.
quiet, efficient staff good english spoken and nice breakfast no
The chateau was stunning, set in amazing grounds. We dined at the restaurant at night, lovely gourmet food, unfortunately we were surrounded by an American tour group, which unfortunately did not help the ambience. Our room was nice, but a lovely large bathroom. Would recommend, was excellent value for money for a chateau in the area, when booking through booking.com.
A most beautiful Chateau set in a wonderful park. The food was superb and the heated swimming was a delight. All very comfortable and I would highly recommend it if you visiting the Loire area.
Everything was superb, the drinks that I ordered at reception on the night we arrived did not however, get delivered to our room as requested. Which was the only dissappointment. Same as above and also I was not able to get a cup of English tea. I suggest Yorkshire tea, if you are interested, strong and tasty and available in Carrefore.
Beautiful building. Excellent food and hospitable staff. Building not in A1 condition, but still very good.
The setting was superb and the staff were very friendly. We were given a room within the Chateau itself as I requested, but I did feel it would benifit from an update as it was not as modern as the pictures on the website.
The owner was very pleasant and welcoming. The room we stayed in was very spacious. The pool and grounds were very lovely. The breakfast was wonderful.
The chateau is beautiful as are the grounds. The staff were very accommodating The linens were wonderful. Our room was the size of a large broom closet. There was no coffee maker in the room.
Quiet location No room service.
Loved the setting. Thought excellent value for money. However, not suitable for those who may not be willing to spend a small fortune on their evening meal as the hotel restaurant is the only place you can have a meal for miles. If, on the other hand you are after a luxurious feat, this is the place! no
Good fairly modern hotel on the outskirts of town. Good bathroom. Good restaurant. Good car park.
Modern, very friendly and helpful owner and staff. Excellent food combined with very comfortable rooms, excellent secure parking, quiet and yet within walking distance of town and its famous chateau
Great welcome, very clean and modern and reasonable price.
Clean, comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff and owner; good location for exploring the chateaux of the Loire valley. Our room was on the 2nd floor and there was no lift, but to be fair it was classified 2 star so couldn't really expect one.
Very good quality 2 star hotel (only the limited hours of its restaurant stop it being 3 star) refurbished in 2009. We had a 4 berth family room with a double and 2 bunk beds which was very comfortable. The room was perfectly decorated with new carpets and was spotlessly clean. It is a beautiful hotel building, lovely wooden entrance hall and staircase, probably a 4 star hotel in a previous life now brought back to life and refurbished on a smaller scale. We recommend the hotel and would stay again. We paid EUR76 for the 4 berth room. Breakfast EUR9.50. Dinner set menus from EUR22 but plenty of alternatives in town. Receptionists were friendly and helpful. A few downsides: (1) The hotel is a little further out of town than many others. Azay is a very small town but this hotel is off from the main road leading to the town, about 15 minutes walk to the Chateau. If you have a car no probs, and you prob won't beat the price. (2) Strangely the bath didn't have a shower screen so it was necessary to use a spare towel to cover the floor. Others have mentioned the same in other rooms but otherwise the bathroom is perfectly decorated with modern fittings.
The hotel staff was very friendly and went out of their way to see to our needs. When they saw us looking at tourist fliers, they came up and handed us a regional map with Chateaus highlighted. Its location is very central to many of the local attractions The room was basic, but comfortable. Would have liked a shower curtain for the option to take a standing shower but the bathroom facilities were clean and adequate.
It's a perfect hotel to discover castles situated not far from it. English speaking management. Room is rather big.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The room was large and very comfortable. The room was very clean and the tea making facilities were a nice surpise. The indoor swimming pool/ sauna and steam room was a very relaxing. The restaurant provided great meals and service.
Room was excellent, large bed, nice bathroom/shower, very comfortable. Restaurant was good with a good selection of food and wine. Outside patio area was a bit shabby, needs some updating
Restaurant staff very friendly, comfortable room and really enjoyed pool/spa facilities Booked the hotel to attend conference in the centre of Tours - Mercure Tours Sud is relatively far from the town centre and taxis forming only transport.
Food was excellent, the service provided was professional and polite. Questions asked were answered accurately. The coice at breakfast was limited
Marvelous food and wine in beautiful surroundings
Large rooms, friendliness of staff, good facilities, excellent food and location was handy for touring the region, especially the Tour-Blois route. Lack of coffee/tea facilities in room. Saturday night was very busy due to a function and dinner service was extremely slow.
Friendliness and professionalism of staff. Quality of food. Building and decor
great location. missed the airco
Attractive location Overpriced, particularly the restaurant.
It was the best. Nothing was to much trouble. If you are looking for superb service food and rooms this is the right place.
Excellent service, dinner was great.
The pleasantness of the staff, their willingness to please, the beautiful hotel and surroundings, the superb decoration in our room. 45 Euro for a measure of Martell Cordon Bleu Cognac is ridiculous.
