Traditional architecture and furniture
great rooms and setting...
Friendly, clean rooms. Quiet surrounding for walks, nice village.
The town was a nice one near the castle ruins. The owners were very nice. It was close to Bad Duerkenheim, where we enjoyed a great day. The beds were uncomfortable. No washclothes and no garbage can. No TV and no Refridgerator. The last two are nice to have but not necessary. The room size was good for our family with 3 small kids.
Nice manager, very helpful and accomodating. Location was great for feeling like you're away from everything - only 10min walk up the hill to a beautiful little village with great restaurants and wineries. Need a car to get to any other town for supermarkets etc. Hotel room was nice but only beds and ensuite. A kettle and basic utensils would be a great addition for the 4 person room since there's nothing very close for an easy breakfast otherwise (luckily the manager could lend us some while we were there!)
breakfasts were very good; enjoyed the complimentary thermal baths they wanted to charge us the price of 8 euros per hour for Wi-Fi!
Quiet and convenient to town centre
Very clean and good quality accommodation. Nice pool, etc.
The location of the hotel is great. Encourages walking!
This hotel has excellent facilities and is situated in very attractive grounds. As I was in a wheel-chair I was glad to have ramps and a lift available for entering and leaving the building.
Very nice atmosphere. Great breakfast. I enjoyed a nice massage too
A nice hotel in a nice town. I wish I had had more time to enjoy the area. I didn't use the spa this time, but I will if I ever get back to that area. The lack of air conditioning is a problem. Because of the heat, I had to open windows, which then meant that I had to listen to everything going on outside. That, and the heat, cost me a few hours of sleep. Despite that, I think it is a nice hotel, just not in the Summer.
It was central location for the Wein Fest! The carpet in the room had some stains on the floor...but overall the room was very clean.
no air conditioning in the room. Very small pillow. I've found pretty unpolite the request to see the fridge to check it...after I've already payed the bill...
We are Canadians living in Europe (for 2 years now). We have done a lot of travelling and this hotel is the best by far that we have stayed at. Well done to the staff and thank you!! Not a thing.
The front steps literally open up right into the Winefest. Our room was surprisingly quiet with the festival going on. The door to the room seemed a bit flimsy/unsecure.
The swimming pool complex, and the massage at the Spa. Breakfast was quite good, but dinner did not have a similar quality.
Nice reception gives useful information, bathroom very good. Swimmingpool excellent (50m!). breakfast very OK. Currently there were construction works nearby (closing the windows did shut the noise out), this is a temporay problem.
Very pleasant staff, all spoke English well. Had a mixup with the booking and the hotel comped us 2 free drinks at the bar for the inconvenience. Parking was a hastle during the Wurstmarket because the hotel is right in the center of the festival. Hotel access via car was blocked because of the festival. Would recommend other hotels outside of the main festival area.
Nice staff No free wireless internet
Nothing The salinary is awful, the hotel is old one and the smell is bad.
This hotel is perfect for the Wine festival Werstmark. They also have a huge pool.
The indoor connection to the swimming pools next door, free of charge for guests and the late opening hours of this pool. The location of the room, there are many rooms with an obstructed view of the roof of the hotel or additions of the hotel or where you've a terrible view on a parking lot and waste land. While on the other side (not for booking.com clients}, there are rooms overlooking a historical town, mountains, the park and the outdoor pool.
Closeness to the pool; the in-hotel massage- the dinners were absolutely outstanding.
Good breakfast Lack of easy access to gardens
The overall appearance was very nice. The check-in time was 1200, the room was not ready until 1245. There was a terrible odor in the hallway. The picture on the net did not accurately reflect the room. Parking was very tight and hard to manuever and the signs indicating parking areas were insufficient.
the staff were great and in a good location for evening walks.
Friendly and the room/bathroom was clean. Only the hot meal at the restaurant in the evening was the usual thing, with exception of the buffet and breakfast wich was great. see above
Pleasent quiet location, friendly staff who directed us to excellent local Weinstube rebstockel pulsating with life just up the road when the inhouse restaurent looked underfilled!! Eat the specialities of the house and drink their white wine spritzer. It will not disapoint. Hate duvets and no separate top sheet on beds.
close to town centre The habitual noise at night. From wedding parties in the hotel and immediate nieghbours of the hotel and their parties
Good breakfast but could be kept topped up better. Very good pool but a little on the cold side for non-Germans! Whilst the hotel was perfectly clean and tidy and the gardens very attractive, it lacked charm and atmosphere. It was not 'cosy'.
Hotel was comfortable, well appointed. Food was excellent
The pool and sauna were nice. On the second day we didn't receive the eggs we asked for but made due with other items. The server was giving eggs to everyone else and forgot about us.
The hotel is located right next to the very small city centre and a beautiful park. The view from our room was stunning and it was very quiet at night. We had a facial and that was just outstanding service and atmosphere! I can highly recommend the wellness section (beauty farm) on the 3rd floor of the hotel. Breakfast is nice and the terrace outside is beautiful. The shower curtain in the bathroom needed a change, it was very smelly and it was unpleasant to be in the bathroom. The rooms and the hotel need some renovation, but it's still a very nice hotel. The curtains in the bedroom were not dark at all, due to the incoming sun we'd wake up very early in the morning. The pool needs some cleaning, too. All in all, the wellness section in the basement is very nice though.
Front staff was really good. They are friendly. And accommodation was very good , the room has floor heating system, that is very good for relaxing. none.
Very friendly and helpful staff
We were there during the Wurstmarkt. We faced the park so it was very quiet. They don't have roladens, so expect morning sun to wake you. The room was large by European standards. We had amazing breakfast service - the maître d' somehow managed to make sure all guests always had everything they needed.
location and helpful staff no
Great location, very nice place to stay. Great breakfast. Nice sauna. no
Nice view of gardens
Because this hotel offered everythink what I expected - location nto so far from highway, but in very quiet and nice place, underground garage, excellent stuff, good food anr las but not least wellness facility like indoor pool and sauna. Sauna was cedlared to be for use from 6.30 a.m, but morning at 7.30 was not prepared ( heated).
The good breakfast, good bed, nice cocktail bar and free wi-fi. The rooms look out date
first class kitchen and food . excellent dinner rooms are way to small , beds not comfortable at all for that price , wont stay there definetely not anymore
no fuss, clean, well organised, good breakfast
A well-maintained and comfortable venue with an excellent restaurant and sumptuous breakfast buffet.
great place to stay nice places to eat and local wines none
Friendly staff. Lack of lounge area to relax.
Very freindly and helpful staff No mini bar no coffee and tea making facility .the bar shut down on the sunday night
Nice room.Nice outlook.Good breakfast.Good parking. No tea and coffee facilities in room.
Nice place to stay, with good food and helpful staff. Hotel is well-situated and the rooms are adequate, very clean and quiet.
Tea and coffee facilities in the room would be appreciated
Good location for my needs Needs air conditioning, room was uncomfortably hot
location and people no wifi in the rooms
The room was clean, large and comfortable. Parking was free and onsite, which is very convenient. Free internet in the rooms. The hotel had a wedding reception there on the night of our stay. We did not have access to the restaurant or bar. Also, the music played loudly until 4am which shook our bed and made it very difficult to sleep. We would have found another hotel to stay at if we had been advised of the wedding taking over the entire hotel.
Nice setting, good service, very clean, friendly staff Meals were too fancy and therefore too pricey. Breakfast was very good, but depended a bit as to who was on duty.
The alterations to create a modern hotel had been tastefully done. The staff members were very welcoming, which created a friendly atmosphere. Music (modern pop with lyrics) was too loud. I prefer the quiet conversation of other diners with no music. However, the choice of Mozart at breakfast was both superb and at the correct volume!
We liked that it was a charming group of buildings that could have been part of a working vineyard at one time. The cobblestone courtyard with its trees and plantings set it off beautifully. We were placed in one of the out buildings from the main hotel and it gave us a feeling of being separated So, we didn't have the friendly smiles and the casual spoken words from the staff which I missed. Also, it was necessary for us to bring in our own luggage with no assistance. The receptionist offered but I knew that her job was behind a desk and not carrying luggage so I declined her offer.
A quiet room, easy parking, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast.
Our first trip to Bad Duerkheim and this hotel was convenient and reasonably priced. We were referred to a nice restaraunt for dinner. The breakfast at the hotel was very good. The room had a nice, quiet balcony. We liked everything.
I can imagine it would be a nice place to stay in summer. We arrived at 7pm after a long drive, with many delays, to find the hotel locked and unstaffed. We picked up the keys at a local restaurant, and had no problem getting in, but the hotel felt empty and unwelcoming. In the morning we wanted to leave at 7.
Staff very nice, wonderful breakfast
Very quite location away from down town. I had no idea there were other gueats at the hotel.
Staff was incredible! Recommended their restaurant- which was also amazing. Even though most of them didn't speak English, they were very kind and helpful. Only a 4 minute drive into town! They called us a Taxi because the service only spoke German...and the restaurant booked as a tour at the Mesel Vineyards....fantastic trip!
Staff! a bit hard to find - more accurately hard to find the street, once found easy to find
Good restaurant, good location. Low continuous humming noise throughout the night made sleep difficult. Sounded like a plumbimg problem.
Initial room size was too small. After room change, the room size was OK. Hotel was stuffy. Wet smell was prevalent in hall ways. Hotel needs better air circulation.
Friendly staff, excellent restaurant. No complaints.
The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom very clean
Very comfortable, spotlessly clean. Excellent food in the restaurant (and at breakfast) and great draught pils. Staff very friendly and efficient.
Hotel room was excellent. Last time we had a very lumpy fold out bed, so this time they gave us a suite where our son slept in a separate room on the couch. Breakfast is always very nice. Dinner experience was beyond horrific!!! They had a big dinner group in the restaurant plus it was a Saturday evening, but still we waited over an hour for our first course and during this wait we were completely ignored, no apologies, no update or explanation and not even some bread to tie us over. The waitress got our drink order completely wrong and it took another 20 min to bring the "right drinks". I finally asked for some bread as our son was starving and they said yes, but once again I had to ask again after 15 min. All the restaurant guests got some kind of special "on the house" appetizer/amuse but as hotel guests I guess we were less important so we didn´T. When the food came it was good, however definitely not worth the wait.
It is a very typical german hotel/restaurant in a very pretty village. Hardly anyone spoke English which was difficult but added to the charm of the hotel and location. The service in the restaurant was a little poor but this could have been to do with the fact that they had a wedding on the night we stayed. Aside from that, the staff were very accommodating and got up especially early for us the next morning to do us a take-away breakfast as had an early departure.
Very charming setting and welcoming ambience! Clean and efficient with pleasant restaurant.Choice of local wines outstanding.
Hotel is nice, spacious, good location with free parking. Rooms are fairly new(renovated) and very spacious in excellent condition. Breakfast was good like last time with extremely friendly service. This is not a summer hotel. There is no air conditioning or van in the room and if you open the window you get eaten alive by mosquitoes. I called the reception at 11pm to ask if they could place a van in the room or had hordes to cover the window but they had nothing neither did they have another solution. Result being that we didn´t sleep all night. Dinner was also disappointing. I mentioned I was vegetarian and asked if they mushroom with rosti was vegetarian to which the answer was yes. When it arrived there was bacon in it. One of the waitresses tried to deny it, so I dissected the dish and showed her. There also was a hair in the soup. Last but not least the fold out bed for our son was extremely lumpy and uncomfortable.
Very friendly staff. Good value for area. Nice bedroom and clean. Not far from motorway system but not sure how we would have done without satnav. Food good (but English visitors note very German in style and computerised translation of menu slightly erratic e.g. sausage made from belly pork translates to "pig's stomach"). Excellent value and very good house reisling.
guest house on walking distance from hotel; good free parking place; nice spaceous room on top floor of the guest house; very clean; friendly staff in the hotel.Good starting point for Deutsche Weinstrasse only but serious comment: not enough reading lights in the room
