Pros: Really nice place with friendly staff (even though communication in English was limited, it was ok).
Cons: There was some extra few EUR fee compared to price here.
Pros: The rooms are very cozy and clean. They only have about 3 rooms, which makes it feel more like „family“. The staff is very welcoming and offer great hospitality.
Located in Sebnitz, Pension Am Finkenberg is in the mountains, within a 15-minute drive of Saxon Switzerland National Park and Obere Schleuse.
Pros: Beautifully renovated house, nicely furbished bath. Fabulous garden area. Excellent breakfast. Kind hosting.
Cons: No private parking. Street is very steep. Not sure if air conditioning is generally unavailable or just at some rooms.
Pros: The room had lots of windows, so it was light and airy. The terrace was a treat, with lots of flowers and fresh air. The hostess was very friendly despite my terrible German. The location wes great--very near the center, but quiet.
Pros: The location was great for what we wanted. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and the room was a good size, plenty of room to move around. Having breakfast included was a plus. The food was really good with plenty of variety, the dining room a good size and we liked the area outside where we could sit and have breakfast.
Cons: No fan or fridge in the room

Pros: The apartment was really big, nice, clean and well-equipped. The hosts were very helpful and kind. There are a lot of touristic attractions around the property. The National Park is really beautiful !
Cons: The property is very close to the road and can be noisy sometimes, but fortunately at night there isn't so much traffic.

Pros: Very nice and peaceful place, big apparment, high cleanness everywhere, wide range of meals for breakfast, great and fast WiFi, kind and helpefull owner.
Pros: The staff was very friendly, the Pension was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was great, fresh local products. The garden was beautiful and the surrounding nature amazing. We enjoyed a very peaceful stay.
Pros: Great Location. Size of room is good. Very clean. Adequate breakfast for starting the day.
Cons: No tea and coffee facilities. The double bed was actually twin mattresses. Internet slightly slow when uploading.
Pros: The garden was very nice and there was a trampoline for my daughter to play on , so that was good!! Also, having a café on site was a bonus.
Cons: The internet was very slow and the bed was uncomfortable.
Pros: Very-very kind owners, who were very-very friendly with the guest! I send a big thank you from this platform also. The accomodation was very quiet and a very nice place, close to my goal. The room was big and like a new, clean. The breakfast was perfect and delicious. Everything was perfect! Thank you very much! It was nice time.
Pros: A family owned place in the Saxony national park , great cafe (from Wednesday to Sunday) , one can also bring own things to grill. All main locations like Königstein fortress, Bastei, Bohemian Switzerland are within 20 km radius and there are also good public transport from Bad Schandau . The host is often very busy and may not answer your calls immediately. But he calls back always. We had some questions and they were happy to clarify. A quiet place and very scenic.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike. However there should be a couple of things to keep in mind. The place accepts only Cash. A couple of other travellers had problem as they were not aware. There are only two places , one a bowling bahn and other Hotel Berghof(serves really good food) to eat. The nearest ATM and grocery shops and restaurants are in the town of Bad Schandau. The pillows were a bit uncomfortable and breakfast was pretty basic.
Pros: Great place to stay, everything in Saxon Switzerland reachable in 20 mins by car.
Pros: This attractive converted farmhouse is ideal for a stay in this beautiful part of Germany. Although located in a rural hilltop village, there are regular bus services from almost outside the guest house into Bad Schandau. There is a beautiful walk down through fields of sunflowers into the valley, where you join a car-free road and can walk to the Lichtenhainer waterfall. Here there are a couple of restaurants and you can catch the period tram into Bad Schandau. The village itself has a nice restaurant with a terrace overlooking the valley, a lovely setting for an evening meal or drinks. Ronny, the host and owner, was extremely helpful both before and during our stay. There is a nice garden with trampoline and a paddling pool for the kids. Our son was also delighted to find a football and a small goal to practice his shots! I can't speak too highly of this stay and would love to revisit some time.
With a stay at Gaststätte & Pension Am Weinberg in Sebnitz, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Bohemian Switzerland National Park and Saxon Switzerland National Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The room was beautiful, the staff were very nice, the food was very reasonably priced. The included breakfast was fantastic, one of the best I've ever had.
Cons: There was no soap, showergel, or other amenities in our room but we were able to get some at the desk.
Pros: Super nice, privately run guesthouse. Moderately priced restaurant serving tasty local food. We got apartment #16, which was very cosy and spacious, balcony had a nice view. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great starting point for nearby hikes into the Schrammstein-area. Would book it again!!!
Pros: Very clean and friendly staff.
Pros: Staff were freindly and helpful and the location was witin 30 minutes by car to several interesting places to visit.
Pros: Very helpful and hospitable staff. Christina deserves special mention for her friendliness and speaks good English. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The resturant served large portions of delicious traditional food. The location was excellent for hiking access into the National Park. Would highly recommend this guesthouse.
Pros: People there were really very nice, they allowed us also to leave our baggage there after checkout and they had solution for everything :)
Pros: Tasty breakfast, nice owner, very good food for dinner or super,
Cons: In the room it was plenty of dust, especially under the bed and on the bedside table, very old and creaking beds, and floor. Better location is Bad Schandau.

This charming hotel is set in Dresden. There are a total of 16 accommodation units on the premises. No pets are allowed on the premises.
Pros: Beautiful Castle in "Saxon Switzerland". Simple, but perfect. Excellent value for money. Good dinner and breakfast.
Pros: - it's an old medieval castle!!! - staff was friendly though not very English speaking (still no problem to discuss what was needed) - breakfast is basic but good, you won't leave hungry - price/quality was good - parking is free next to the castle
Cons: - no wifi and the cellular reception was pretty bad
Pros: The staff was very friendly, the rooms were comfortable, the bathrooms spacious and clean, and we enjoyed both dinner (ended up getting the buffet, as the regular kitchen had closed for the night) and the ample breakfast the next morning.
Pros: We had a spacious room with a great view overlooking the main part of the castle. It was very clean and quite comfortable, but feels a bit like a hostel rather than a hotel. Breakfast was basic, but tasty. There was no decent coffee though!
Cons: There was no wifi in the room amd only basic coverage in the cafe, which makes it difficult to research places, book accommodation and correspond on a longer trip. It was a little over-priced.
Pros: The view and area is pure awesome, breakfast and Dinner Buffet were also quite nice and healthy.
Cons: Only Minor issues, especially considering the Price: The beds were not quite Perfect for our backs, Internet was poor to non existent which might have been due to 2 school classes residing at the time.
Pros: Interesting heritage accommodation in a lovely town.
Pros: Great place to stay. Something different. Great breakfast location and history. Very friendly and helpful staff
Pros: Rooms and the atmosphere of the castle are wonderful.

Pros: Free parking Very kind and great reception.
Pros: Location, location, location!!!
Cons: Very very basic. We also had some dead bugs on the walls.
Pros: Awesome panoramic location just at the end of Stage 2 hike(Stadt Wehlen - Hohnstein). Decent breakfast, Kind and accomodating staff(we were late for check-in).
Cons: The room had a stuffy smell
Pros: The staff was super friendly and helpful!
Located in Sebnitz, Berghof Lichtenhain is a 5-minute drive from Saxon Switzerland National Park and 8 minutes from National Park Centre.
Pros: Breakfast was good.
Cons: The hotel has a problem with insects - at night from the ceiling, from behind wardrobes, from under the carpet, dozens of beetles came out. Sleeping in this hotel was a horror movie. The hotel staff said it was normal for them and they couldn't handle the vermin. Despite the complaint, they do not want to return the cost of accommodation. We didn't sleep all night. We were unable to find another hotel at 11pm. The second thing, parking is about 700 meters from the hotel on some lonely square. If you have a light suitcase, it's ok, but if you have something heavy ... you have a walk.
Pros: Nice place in a great location! fields and animals right outside the windows and pretty hills to look at in the far!
Pros: Amazing view from restaurant and really nice area of old "hof". Really good start for exploring mountains tracks.
Cons: We were told that restaurants kitchen is open until 9pm, when we came 8:40pm we heard that kitchen is already closed. After few minutes ladies decided that will cook for us - so on the end bad impression was removed.
Pros: Tasty breakfast, big choice of food. Cousy, very clean rooms. Wonderfull view
Cons: Wifi - we couldn't connect during the stay
Pros: Location and the breakfast in nice view of mountains.
Pros: Beautiful hotel in a quaint town. I don't speak much German but the staff were lovely and helpful so there were no issues. Fantastic dinner menu and excellent breakfast, lovely views from the restaurant. I was hiking along the Malerweg and it was a perfect stop.
Cons: The blanket was a bit too warm for summer!
Pros: The terrace and restaurant have an outstanding view as long as you enjoy gazing at the tree covered sandstone hills which I do. It's located on the edge of the village so is very quiet. A very good breakfast. I'd like to return to enjoy the view once more.
Cons: The only problem was that for some reason I was booked in twice so I ended up in a single room although I had booked a double. The single was adequate though if I wasn't so tired when I arrived I would probably have argued a little more forcefully.
Located in Neustadt in Sachsen, Parkhotel Neustadt is just steps from Mariba Freiseitwelt Spa and 3 minutes by foot from Arthur-Richter-Park. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very quiet and clean
Cons: Beds are not comfy at all
Pros: Drinks and Coffee can be consumed at terrace, also on Sunday. Sauna and small pool are good and open until half past nine.
Cons: Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on Sunday, as all other restaurants in the town.
Pros: The owners of the Guesthouse were really friendly and helpful. Restaurant was open only for the guests which was nice because of the quite remote location of the Guesthouse.
Cons: Due to the same names of the streets and postcodes in four villages in the area, finding the right place was challenging.
Pros: The Lady who owns the place is very friendly and tries to meet the guests need. Breakfast was included and good. Broad variety of cold cut, eggs, cereals, fruits.
Cons: The beds were terrible to sleep in.
When you stay at Hotel Steiger Sebnitzer Hof- Adults Only in Sebnitz, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Saxon Switzerland National Park and Obere Schleuse. Featured amenities include luggage storage and an elevator. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and limited parking is available onsite.
Pros: - Location was good - Spa was relaxing - Staff are good
Cons: - Not a four star hotel by standard published EU criteria; think more 3 stars - For example, bathrobes are an additional 6 EUR each (you will want them for the Spa) - No tea or coffee making facilities in the room - No mini bar in the room - In our opinion, evening food and drink in the Weinstube was not good (beer was the exception)
Pros: Big rooms and a comfy bed. Good breakfast (all 9 yards)
Pros: Newly renovated spa area. Friendly staff, quiet big room, pretty good breakfast with opulent cold cuts and cheese platter. Definitely worth the 5 euro
Cons: A little too much decor overall.
Pros: Super friendly staff, cleanliness, quietness Loose tea for breakfast (environmental friendly, yay!)
Cons: Very few options for vegetarian and especially vegans during breakfast. Food isn't even marked when containing meat (e.g. omelette with "hidden" ham). I would also suggest to add a vegan spread and almond milk. This could be improved. Apart from this, breakfast choices are quite good. Hotel could get rid of packaged tea (reduce plastic waste), as it offers loose tea anyways
Pros: The hotel was really comfortable and had a lovely ambience with great amenities. The bed was a good size and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. The dining room was lovely with a street outlook and there was a good variety for breakfast. It was in a good location and was central to everything.
Pros: The location is right in the heart of Sebnitz and the staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation has a lovely atmosphere with a nice breakfast room overlooking the square. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom was nice and clean.
Pros: Staff friendliness, wellness area, location and confort. We went in Saxon Switzerland for a week end of hiking, and appreciated this hotel with two restaurants and a spa area, perfect after a long day outside.

Pros: We had stayed here before in 2011. We heard that it reopened in the spring of 2019 after being closed for refurbishment over two years so everything was in excellent condition. We found all staff were excellent and enjoyed our stay. I used the outdoor pool in mid September. The sauna facilities were excellent and little used.
Cons: Nothing really but considering the total recent refurbishment the beds were a poor choice being incredibly soft.
Pros: Clean rooms, nice view from the room, friendly staff.
Cons: The location is good for hikers on the Malerweg, but a bit outside at the end of the village. The food was average, bland.
Pros: Beautiful location near the national park
Cons: Swimming pool is too small, exterior needs work
Pros: These rooms were lovely and spacious! Absolutely gorgeous location, paths into the local national park just at the edge of the grounds. The sauna and cold outdoor pool were heavenly, even nicer than the images online. The staff went out of their way to provide a vegetarian dinner for my family on short notice when we arrived early evening, possibly the best local fare we had in all of Germany. The breakfast buffet was 5 euros per person, unreasonably reasonable! In addition to the standard (wonderful) buffet of northern Europe, there were amazing jams made by the hotel (lavender infused, for instance). The staff was friendly and helpful and the lobby/dining area was well thought out. Per day parking was also reasonable at 6 euros.
Pros: Breakfast was good. The hotel is located in a very nice place.
Cons: Sauna closes at 7 pm. You have to pay for parking.

Pros: * Proprietors were nice and made us feel welcome, they helped plan our trips & suggested which buses to take. * Good public transport to hiking locations (Malerweg, Panoramaweg). * Nice neighbourhood, reasonably quiet. * Good value for money, met or exceeded expectations.
Cons: * I never got WiFi to work but my friend did, so perhaps this was some problem with my device. * Restaurant serves a very traditional regional menu which is nice at first but after some days in the area (and every other restaurant in the area doing the same) I craved for some change.
Pros: Personal service, in-house restaurant (with fixed seating based on room number)
Cons: Standard room far away from town center
Pros: They were very kind and provided help out of regular time. Also helped with some additional services we needed
Pros: Perfect service. Great restaurant with delicious food

Pros: Frendly waitress.
Cons: Lacks vegan breakfast
Pros: Location right at the edge of the national park, which was very convenient during our cycling trip, very friendly staff with Czech cook who helped with communication as our German is far from perfect; dog friendly; good food and beer; spotless rooms, quiet location
Pros: Great location in National Park, with lots of walking nearby. Dog friendly. Attic room quite small.
Pros: Location, room design, food. Breakfast was ok.
Cons: Too pricey for what we got.
Pros: The food in the restaurant - Gasthof zur Hoffnung - was great! The have an awesome cook with excellent cooking skills. The had some local microbrewery special that was great. The place itself is very romantic close to the great hiking trails of Czech - Saxon Czech Switzerland.
Cons: We would prefer the menu to be available also in English, not just German. But we managed to navigate the food and drinks offer with the help of the cook and the server. :-)
Pros: Clean Good restaurant Friendly waitress
Cons: Very small room

Pros: Great place to explore the area
Pros: Host very friendly, good value food and drink.
Cons: Rather stuffy in top floor bedroom. Bed not very comfortable, toilet awkward to use.
Pros: Very kind staff and a beautiful view!
Pros: Apartments here may not be first class, but the friendliness and welcoming nature of the host more than makes up for that. Tasty meals, good beer and nice location not far from the famous Bastei Bridge.
Pros: The location was perfect and peaceful. 30 min to Bastei and Dresden. The Room was very clean, and HUGE by European standards. We were on the ground floor, you can walk right out your door to the patio where you could order food and drinks. The owners were extremely friendly and sociable (as were the other guests). The gardens were gorgeous. Would highly recommend to friends and family! This what not what we expected for the low price we paid.
Cons: Owner over familiar. Frankly, I wasn't interested in seeing his photos of Chelsea Football Club, and when I ordered an evening meal, I didn't expect him to sit at my table and eat his meal before mine arrived. Neither should he have been handling his pet duck immediately before serving at table.
