Cons:Found a hypodermic needle in the parking lot. Door didn't latch well and pushed in when tested for safety. Peep hole was dirty and couldn't see out of. Manager was unhelpful and could only offer a different room. Wouldn't have helped because the hotel is old and safety features haven't been updated in decades. So all rooms would have been like that.

Cons:Didnt have our room ready, rude over the phone was told they legally didn't have to have our room ready till 3pm and was not told before hand or we could have planned accordingly. The choice was simple to wait in a hot car or waste gas driving around. Will never recommend.
Pros:Great check in process
Pros:Convenient location to San Antonio and San Marcos. It was once a quaint and adorable German themed inn, and from the outside still appealing.
Cons:Property is in horrible disrepair. Both inside and out, it's obvious that only the very necessary upkeep is being done. The room had an awful stench that is reminiscent of a homeless person's cardboard shelter. Bathroom and vanity were unclean and require new grout, caulk and paint. Air conditioner was not working enough to cool the room, though it was not a particularly hot day for the area. Room was dark and all the lighting had different color temperatures. Sadly, it appears that the owners and staff have no interest in providing any more than a place to sleep, if one can manage it, which I couldn't.
Pros:Close to river.
Cons:Water never got hot. took 29 mins to just get warm.
