The value to invest
Location is excellent. In the historic district, in front of a caffee, near the Convention Center, the Mississippi, and the French Quarter. Very safe zone to walk, enjoy the parks, and see the historic houses.
The building is fantastic but lacks refurbishing. The floors, the ceilings, the carpets (that I will take away). The cleanning is fair, but you can see a lot of little things to improve. If the owners will invest in one area, they couild start renting the space, more expensive, and with that money continue remodeling. The historic importance of the building and the area, could make this place, something very special for customers, that would be gladly spend much more for it
The price was good. wifi was strong. Hot water. Nice staff. Close walking distance to many restaurants
Wifi was $4. Parking was $5 Mattress was horrible in building #1, room #9. FYI.
Nice hostel like facilitfacility Garden district location..
Too Scared to Stay
Price was right
General feeling of location and staff greeting did not make me feel comfortable enough to stay. To be fair I checked in much too late and that was my fault. I would stay to anyone who wants to stay here bring a friend and be prepared for a haunted house type of experience.
Not as cheap as it should be
The room was rough, comfortable enough, the house is a cool old building, and the location is very close to the Convention center.
The internet is a weak slow signal available only in the common room, which is full of people eating smelly food and watching TV very loudly. There was almost no hot water on the third floor. Expect to take cold showers.
New Orleans flair
It's an orphanage from the mid-1800s that was converted in the 1990s to hotel/apartment living. Beautiful old NOLA vibe with great employees. Lots of antiques and old south charm. Very safe part of town. I was out walking at 11 p.m. and had a great time.
The bed was hard as a rock.
A1 Flop house.
Finding another hotel to stay at.
Broken bed. No phone in room. 1 towel and 1 wash cloth for 3 adults. Half full drink cups on window sill. Dark hallways. Front desk staff eating at front desk. Pool filthy. Two different taxi drivers and dozen local residents stated property was a flop house in worst part of town.
With a stay at St. Vincent's Guest House, you'll be centrally located in New Orleans, steps from Magazine Street and within a 5-minute drive of Mardi Gras World. Featured amenities include express check-out, multilingual staff, and an elevator (lift). Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
