My boyfriend and I enjoyed our room. We were luck enough to be able to reserve a smoking room which is a very nice luxury to have. The continental breakfast had some good choices and was a nice way to start off our day. The hotel was located close to a Walmart which was very convenient. I did not think that the room was worth was nearly $200 we paid. The location was 20 minutes away from the parts of Hocking Hills that we were visiting (Ash Cave and Old Man's Cave). While the room was nice, the shower drained slowly. I was standing in over ankle deep water at the end of each of my 15 minute showers. And channels that my boyfriend and I consider pretty basic, like Cartoon Network, were not available.
Staff was great. Very clean. Pool/hot tub was a nice touch. Loved the deck that overlooked pool No DVD player in room or complimentary soda which was promised.
Absolutely nothing. Please, do yourself a favor and pay the extra money to stay at the Baymont. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot I knew I couldn't stay at this place. First off, it's a motel- don't let the pictures fool you. And if you think it looks sketchy from the outside- wait until you get your room key. I was booked in a non-smoking room, however the smell of cigarettes and must took over the moment I stepped inside. I had read previous reviews about the "cleanliness" of the place so I did a thorough inspection when I entered. I didn't freak out about the dead flies in the window sill or the random/disgusting smudges on the wall, however, when I saw a giant dead bug on the carpet I knew it was over. I promptly went to the front desk to ask for help and frankly to suggest they refund my card so I could seek accommodations that were a bit better. I was told by the front desk that I would have to speak to the owners daughter about the refund. When she was called and didn't answer, I was told by the woman at the front desk "she's not going to call back, she never does if it's about the hotel." I decided to suck it up, lose one nights rate, and check myself into a much cleaner and nicer Baymont down the road. Best decision ever. Here's the bottom line: this place is dirty, smelly, a tad bit sketchy, AND the employees (and apparently the manager/owner) are both rude and unprofessional. Save yourself the trouble and stay anywhere else.
Clean and updated room. Friendly staff. Easily accessible. Fuzzy TV.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. Hocking Hills State Park is right down the road and easy to find. The wifi signal was, as with most hotels these days, very weak. Room decor was a little dated, if that kind of thing bugs you. Downtown Logan was right across the freeway, and I thought the city was kind of a dump. There really isn't much to do there other than the State Park, which is beautiful and the main reason to go to this area!
