The quality of thr room and friendliness of staff The escalators leading to the exhibition hall were not in operation on Tuesday morning.
We thought we were royalty
Lovely hotel with spectacular views and very comfy beds. Service was excellent apart from one barman and would recommend thoroughly although not cheap.
space, heating archaic very noisy
Excellent standard of hotel Price!!!!!!!!
The hotel is huge. Wonderful lounge areas with great service. Only used the pool(not Spa) but our kids loved it. Highly reccomend for families. Great location for Millenium Stadium (20 min drive).Thank you Celtic Manor for a great weekend. Up Munster!!!!!! Loved everything
Very large comfy bed, nice buffet breakfast, very friendly staff
Room design, friendly staff, good breakfast, service on arrival was excellent.
All of it! Perfect accomodation.
The food at the Olive Tree restaurant
Room clean good excellant carvery evening meal Variety of price and choice for breakfast
Nothing The whole experiance was awful. The Room was filthy Light in Bathroom was not working. Overall the hotel was very disappointing
The rooms were spacious. It took a long time to get served at the bar in the afternoon/evening
The room was really nice and spacious and the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast's were really good. We stayed in room 275, the bathroom could do with a bit of updating considering it's a Hilton Hotel.
me and my parter stayed at the hilton but would never stay angin kids running up and down the hall ways load music late at night rowing in the hall ways to would never stay there angin in all the hotel we stayed in we have never had that.
The stairs were damp and smelt damp
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful The hotel needs a complete re-furbishment in my opinion
Friendly staff, comfortable room and very enjoyable breakfast.
Excellent staff at the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and they should all be commended from the coffee point staff to the excellent receptionists Bathroom was dreadful! Needs total overhaul
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Not a great selection for breakfast but the cooked breakfast was good. The hotel is in desperate need of a refurb. Our room whilst large had a very out of date bathroom, stained carpet, not particulary clean and no inroom safe or minbar .Our stay in this hotel was for my Husbands birthday present to attend the Welsh Golf Open so I was extremely disappointed with the room. We had a meal on the 1st evening and we ended up not paying due to the quality of the food.We didn't eat in the dining room again.I Have stayed in 3 Hilton hotels recently Kensington, Swindon and Islington all of which were excellent standard
Location was good for m4 motorway but no noise could be heard from motorway nice modern rooms At breakfast not enough tables for diners, no opening windows in bedroon
Excellent new Hotel in very convenient location for m4 Evening meals limited and transport necessary to get to local pubs/restaurants, etc. (don't have the fish!)
Excellent hotel. The staff were fantastic & couldn't have been more helpful. 5 stars for the standard of rooms & the cleanliness of the whole hotel. Would fully recommend this hotel. The location suited my needs but the hotel is in an area that is currently having building work done, but this did not cause any problems or inconvenience during my stay.
Clean and fresh accommodation. All essential equipment present like shower with adjustable hose, iron, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities. Excellent breakfast, comfortable bed. None.
The staff and the fitness room The food at breakfast was not great
Bed was very hard
new, clean comfortable with close access to motorway (could be better signposted). Staff very pleasant and keen to make sure everything OK.
Comfortable, warm, pleasant, clean room. Hard to find the entrance from J23a. Not enough seating in the breakfast area - stressful and unpleasant trying to find a table.
Thought the hotel and staff were very good. Free breakfast with your booking which is not the best breakfast but certainly gives you something to start the day. Smoking area, because everytime we walked out of the main door people were smoking there. They could put a smoking area to the left of the front door with a roof on so people could smoke in there rather than outside the main entrance. Children running around at 2 in the morning, which was not the hotels fault.
The location was very convenient being right next to the motorway. The hotel is fairly new so everything was clean and tidy with very well appointed bedrooms. The cost was only 50 pounds for the room including breakfast which was very reasonable. The hotel is situated on a business park which is currently under construction so not ideal. The windwows in the bedrooms do not open so you have to use the air con - something I didn't realise until I woke up at 5am being really hot and having difficulty breathing ! We got the air con working and things improved. My wife also found the bed very uncomfortable - too hard so had to use the spare duvet and pillows to try and make it more comfortable. The breakfast area was chaotic - a very poor design in my mind. Had to wait a long time for toast and cooked breakfast which never came. Made a complaint at check out and they said we wouldn't have to pay for our stay.
really enjoyed stay and the pool area was the highlight. Brilliant pool and sauna area. The fact that nearly all the desserts were bought in except trifle and crumble.Very surprised that 4 star hotel should serve these. Steak etc lovely.
Swimming poole and staff at the leisure dept. Was brilliant. When checked in I was asked if I wanted a newspaper. I said Sunday Times but never received it. We hadd breakfast room service and it is the first time that I have been charged £5 for this service. My daugther was given a very poor bed and I complained. The duty manager was useless and I had to almost beg for a replacement. This was sort of ok but very thin mattress. The pillows were also poor. Also, it was very noisy during the night a couple of times with poeple chatting and laughing outside our room.
Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and positive, from reception staff to housekeeping. The rooms were well appointed, the food was extremely tasty and plentiful and the leisure centre was excellent - our children particularly enjoyed the indoor pool. The hotel even had a couple of singers in the bar on Saturday evening! We wished we could have stayed for longer!
Restricted bar menu but food good. Nice open log fire. Pool and leisure facilities very good.
Very nice pool and spa area. Restaurant offers value for money. Spacious reception area where you can spend a rainy morning with the kids and play a boardgame. However, focus of the hotel rests with pensioners - not with families. The music in the restaurant was a bit outdated. Facilities (lounge, rooms) are a bit dated.
Clean and tidy Food service stopped at 10pm, and only sandwiches until 10.30pm!
Very modern clean well kept very plush nothing too much trouble will come back made to feel like a vip cwmbran here we come very soon wales is great this hotel made it better None
The staff were all first class, friendly and efficient. The tv was getting on a bit.
The rooms are nicely appointed, easy parking, a decent breakfast and use of the pool/sauna/etc facilities Price of drinks, not much a facility for smokers, poor booking process and staff that had no authority or access to it.
Bar staff were very friendly and helpful, as were the housekeeping staff in the morning. Check-in was very efficient.
Go to this hotel if you want to stay in a typical ' country house' . Think 'Homes and Gardens' and you have it about right. It is a large Georgian House in a lovely setting with pleasant gardens and the rooms are comfortable. The whole house is filled with antiques and there are large sitting rooms and an honesty bar so you won't be stuck in one room. We've been back twice.
Glanryney is simply charming.
Gorgous house and gardens, good level of information on local attractions and walks, selection of books appreciated due to poor weather at the time. Fine selection of fruit, cerials, jiuces and yoghurt if a full engligh breakfast is not to your taste. Tv reception very poor as aerial connector damaged but as we are not fond of tv we were glad to find the radio worked for Radio 4.
beautiful country house, quiet and peaceful location, individual character, good service, walking in brecon beacons, lovely pub nearby. The bed was very comfortable. Romantic place to stay. My partner prefers a more contemporary accomodation but I loved its charm and character with chairs by the fire and old books to flick through, and free standing bath to soak in
Quiet, relaxing, beautiful surroundings, comfortable bedrooms, excellent breakfast, pleasant staff.
A nice welcome and hassle free stay No evening meals , but the staff gave us directions to a nice place near by
The staff - they were excellent - professional and friendly - I felt as though I had stayed there numerous times and not that this was my first visit children running around
Effective and efficient staff at check in and check out. Easy parking. comfortable bed and good room.
excellent service price was a little expensive
location and excellent service fire alarm system needs a better method of false alarm[ie smoking in non-smoking room, staff need more time to source and rectify!!] also surprised at lack of aircon in a new hotel,at least there was a fan in room
clean and comfortable good service no
The room was comfortable, and the pub next door was great, felt very safe here on my own and would definitely stay here again Lack of free internet access in the room
Everything in room was neat tidy and easy usable
The receptionist was extremely helpful getting me directions and printed off a route map for me. When I got back she enquired if I found it all right. Excellent pr. The coffee in the morning was week and tastless. I like my coffee!
The cleanliness was very impressive. Also very impressed with the cleanliness/decor/size of the room Drink prices at the bar were on the high side. £1 difference for a pint of Guinness between you and Newport pubs.
breakfast was brilliant could n't get telly to work on 2nd night.
Helpful friendly staff. Good breakfast. Not having a restaurant means having to go elswhere to eat evening meals, as a business customer that's a bit of a nuisance.
Friendliness of staff
Very clean bedroom & bathroom, in fact pristine. Good sized bedroom and en-suite, well laid out. Very neutral, tasteful decor. Very comfortable bed. Excellent parking facilities. Beautiful rural location. Excellent breakfast. There was nothing I disliked about the guest house. I selected the guest house for the location. I would have preferred a hotel with lunch & dinner on the premises.
informal and friendly atmosphere nothing
Rooms were clean and modern and the breakfast was good No hot water at 6.00 in the evening. No access to the hotel when we arrived on Saturday afternoon (having been told that the earliest check in was 2.00 we were surprised to find a note on the door at 3.00 saying " back in one hour"). We found somewhere to have a hot drink at the nearby national park but had quite a lot of time to kill which was not ideal after a long journey.
The B&B Is spot on excellent clean rooms with excellent service.
Very well looked after thank you - really good breakfasts!
Accommodation was well appointed and newly decorated to a very high standard. Staff very helpful and efficient. Ate in the adjoining restaurant both nights and meal was excellent & good value (worth booking a table in the restaurant as the bar area gets very busy at weekends). None
The friendly attitude of staff along with super food nothing particular
Secure room access, good decore, good food on site, helpful staff No internet or tv first night. was fixed by morning. Related to electricity work possibly.
Very clean and tidy Room was very warm even with the fan on
We thought it was good value for money, well located for touring Newport/Cardiff area, with particularly meals Nothing to say
Excellent welcome, beautiful room and wonderful breakfast Tad too close to the M4, some road noise as a result
Warm welcome, good quality room with freeview tv and very comfortable bed.Welsh cakes[biscuits] a nice touch. Ground floor rooms directly by car park so had to pull curtains for privacy - no nets/blinds for screening. No greeting in the restaurant so had to wait to attract attention to order.Restaurant "system" for ordering not explained ie order drinks at the bar and food at the table.
Very friendly staff & comfortable surroundings - would recommend
Pleasant and helpful staff, good facilities and food, enjoyed our overnight stay Wash basin tap in our room difficult to operate - needs silica grease to make easier to control. Bathroom extract fan noisy and long running - suggest shorten timer run time
The modern room was warm, the bed comfortable, the bathroom facilities were good too and the staff pleasant The pub/restaurant area seemed like a different place, unimaginative decor and a breakfast chef that liked cooking on a dirty griddle.
the room was lovely, spacious, clean and very comfortable
The rooms were sleek, had all the expected comforts, the lobby was welcoming, and the staff was very friendly.
The food was good as were the rooms. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. After a long day in the mountains and moors it was disappointing that food could not be served in the rooms.
Beautiful surroundings and very friendly and efficient staff. Excellent restaurant which you should not miss!
Great breakfast, friendly staff, big room, excellent decorative order, newly furnished None
the room was huge. the shower was very hot and I couldn't get it any colder
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The restaurant meal was very good and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the bar afterwards. Our room was very comfortable and the parking was close to the accommodation.
The hotel was very clean and most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had the impression of a family-run business and things ran very smoothly. There was a good choice of meals in the restaurant and the food was good and not really expensive. There was a wonderful choice of breakfasts included in the price. I was disappointed that there was not a hair dryer in the guestroom but this may have been due to previous bad experiences on the part of the hotel. Both myself and my husband thought that the room was a bit on the expensive side for a quiet country town like Abergavenny. However, this may in part be explained by the poor rate of exchange between the pound and American dollar.
Lovley large room separate from the main hotel and the busy road. Lovely garden to look out onto from the restaurant. A few things didn't work that well - the TV, the lights in the bathroom and the facilities in the bathroom - small basin, nowhere to put your things.
Friendly, good service, comfortable, good value, good 'Welsh' breakfast (i.e. no baked beans because they don't grow them in Wales . . .) Bit close to the A40. Main hotel sign should be black-on-cream not vice versa (looks like a blackboard).
Comfortable good sized room, staff friendly, service good, breakfast very good. although it was february the heating in the room was rather overpowering and the heating/water pipes were very noisy.
Beautiful setting with lovely grounds. Excellent breakfast although coffee was a bit weak. Creaky floor upstairs meant you could hear people moving around. TV not fully functioning in 'annexe' bedroom (Only some satellite channels working). No room service breakfast menu.
Bathrom had wallpaper hanging off the walls and a crack in the ceiling. Would be upset if the room rate was not dicounted
The fabulous peace and tranquillity of the setting There was a minor problem with the heating in the room
helpful receptionist nice grounds restaurant staff not particularly polished or attentive. Shockingly weak grey tea at breakfast in flasks ; needed several more teabags
The owners of the cottage are excellent. Very welcoming, friendly, helpful, wonderful people. Area is quiet, green, relaxed, the house is so cozy, interior is just more than you expecting from the pictures. I enjoyed every minute of my stay and definitely would pick the same place when i go there next time.
Very homely and comfortable. None
Excellent accomodation, vith absolutely beautiful views.
Very warm and remote None
The cottage was lovely. The under floor heating was excellent and the I really liked the decor. We normally eat out every evening but we just wanted to stay in and enjoy the cosy cottage. Location was great if you enjoy rural surroundings with the added bonus of a Tesco and Asda just a 10 mins drive way. The cottage could do with a clean lots of cobwebs.
Lovely environment. Returned for the fourth time now. The cottage (Glas) represents excellent value for money and is nice and cosy. We always enjoy lighting the log fire burner. There are walks in the local area where we exercised the dog. Richard is a lovely bloke and will go out of his way to make you feel welcome. Shower and kitchen tap were a little erratic but worked fine after leaving them on for a bit.
Very pleasant owners. Excellent views over the valley. Good parking off road outside the cottage. Good walks for dog owners and walkers alike. Sat Nav says you have arrived half way up hill when the accommodation is at the top. The actual signs for the cottages are very small and could easy be missed.
I would say that the bed mattresses would have to be changed they are quiet bad to be honest. It would have been perfect to have propper loggs for the fire.
