Small and compact room, but perfect for our stay. We only had one night in NYC and got in fairly late and had to leave early which was a real shame... the hotel's communal areas are GORGEOUS and I would have loved to just hang out by the chandelier in the lobby! Also doormen plus an escalator up to the lobby/reception made me feel all fancy! Staff members were very polite, super helpful even though it was late when we arrived. There was a communal area to eat on the lower floor, vending machines and a little store that sold some snacks and souvenirs. All the areas were super clean and quiet. There were also plenty of elevators and although there's lots of rooms it's like a little maze so I never heard anyone walking by! As for the room; clean, cozy and the closet is the perfect size to hide away your suitcase(s), great selection of bathroom goodies, night lights and stand on either side, little desk and chair.
Although they weren't necessarily negatives for me, things that I feel others might find a downfall so I wanted to note: The room we stayed in is super modern... and by modern I mean you can see into the bathroom from the bed/bedroom by a glass window. However we "fixed" this by simply pulling the shower curtain across. We checked before going pee pee but once you pull the curtain across privacy is restored. You can hear the city even when you're super high up. I feel like this is a given ... you're in the middle of New York city - a seven minute walk from Times Square. This didn't bug me at all, I was out like a light but I know some might struggle if they're light sleepers. Maybe this should be a given, but if you're a light sleeper and coming to NYC... grab some earplugs :). We couldn't figure out how to turn off the bedside lamps but you could turn them to face the wall which dulled the light massively. I feel like we were just being silly not being able to figure it out but... we had had a long day!
Small, dingy and weird lighting
Just a dive hotel making an attempt to be posh lol. The price was right and the location was perfect. I would recommend the staff bring the egos down a tad ...
