Great value for the money in the heart on NYC. The room was good size and clean.
Not much of a view.
The accommodations were very nice! The beds were large and comfortable and the decor of the room was nice as well. The staff (front desk and room service personnel) were very nice as well.
The room, although nicely decorated, was small for a family of 4. We could have done well with more sitting space. The person who set up the room never left a 4th bath towel and wash rag in the bathroom for our 4th guest, although the room had been cleaned once during our two-night stay and it was clear that 4 people were staying there. There also could have been more hangers in the closet (again, it was 4 of us and that was clear as we stayed in a quadruple occupancy room).
The location was ok
The room was dirty. The stand up shower floor was gross looking. The room I had had a wardrobe to hang up clothes but no place for underwear or socks or anything. And it was broken and scratched
The Roosevelt is my go to hotel when I'm in NYC. Central, near transportation, clean, pleasant, terrific guest service, and wonderful staff. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The lobby bar mixes a perfect martini. The rooms are always clean, well appointed (even the low priced online reservation ones), and very comfortable.
Nothing negative to say. Always a great stay.
It was perfect me great location easy in easy out just worked
Room was dirty, staff was not helpful
ROOM WAS EXTREMELY DIRTY
Location is very convenient.
Bathrooms are in need of an upgrade, faucets leaked all night, showers stopper did not work when using lever. Peeling wallpaper.
Great location. Close to Grand Central station, Times Square and Rockefeller Center.
The windows are thin, so you hear EVERY horn honking.
Insane tapping sound every second from within the walls. Made it impossible to sleep even with earplugs. Staff, junior and senior manager did nothing. Not a real hotel. Avoid this place.
No fridge No tea and coffee making facilities in the room No free wifi facilities.
When we booked through Kayak we actually routed through "Getaroom". When we arrived no reservation could be found. The staff did not stress us out at all and gave us the room key and said that they would sort it out and we should check in with the desk the next day. I fully expected all kinds of issues, however when we went back to the desk they let us know that everything was taken care of. Color me surprised! The location was spectacular, the lobby was beautiful and the room was bigger than I had suspected. When I read Queen/Double, I expected a double but was pleasantly surprised by a comfy queen! Soooo good!
Can't really say a negative thing about it!
The lobby and the bar was good
The rooms are old old old. The A/C unit was moldy and old. Bathrooms are old looking. Not something I expected. Its a bit disappointing.
Entire staff was professional and courteous
Very run down, dirty hotel (apart from lobby) with small rooms. Wallpaper is coming off, carpet is stained and tiles are chipped. Stayed next door to a noicy group and security told us it was not their job to tell them to be quiet. We moved!
The room/bathroom were clean and the location is great.
Upon arrival our room wasn't ready so we had to wait 3 hours in the lobby. I imagine this happens often because there were many people/families with their luggage waiting. When we arrived in New York, it was 55 degrees and raining so we wanted the heat turned on in our room. The hotel wouldn't allow this because it's summer time. There is no actual "bathtub" so when you shower the water floods the bathroom. I used all of the towels right off the bat due to this and when the maid came around to ask for more, she didn't speak any English. I brought my concerns about all of this to the front desk to more people who barely spoke English and they were very rude.
Location was great, very central to all the sights. Breakfast buffet was good! The entrance and main floor was well kept and beautiful.
The room was rather run down, the air conditioner was really, really loud and rattled, and the bathtub was a mess, with many chips out of the enamel where you had to stand while showering.
I love the room
I hated the staff terrible service
Dated hotel needs many touchup and some major renovations. The ice machine was out of service and I was told by the front desk they couldnt send any up but I could try other floors. Tried two floors below me and both were also out of order.
Location is good. Very close to where my meeting was
Room was smelly, everything is old and tired. Bathroom was small and no counter space (literally). Not worth the cost.
We liked the age and history of the hotel, convenient to all the sights, a roll-away bed was comfortable and large enough to accommodate two grandkids, and the lobby area was impressive to my grandchildren.
No free wifi in room, no complimentary coffee or water.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was small; but what do you expect?! IT'S NYC! These other reviews need to get smart! Where are these people from? NYC is small piece of land, builders must build up, not across. And why are you spending a lot of time in your room? Get out & enjoy the city! Overall, I had a great experience at the Roosevelt and would def come back.
The maids were so loud in the morning! Like at 630am I heard them cackling to one another. I know how important it is to have fun at work, but maybe by 8am? Also, the rooftop bar is nothing special. There were 2 doorman who were treating it like it was some exclusive party where only celebrities attend. Um no! The views weren't great and neither was the atmosphere.
grand common room & bar have great old fashion style ! There are many other elegant details from the old days through out the hotel.
Rooms are fairly small - some are quite nice others less so. We switched rooms and got one that was pleasant.
Great lobby area
Old style luxury feel and nice lobby.
It was a dump
It is a classic old hotel midtown Internet FREE not included in the rate breakfast no included in the rate
Location and price.
Free Wi-fi isn't available not even in the lobby without cost. When paying for the internet service it is only available for one device. Cleanliness is mediocre.
I only stayed here because of the location and the price.
For what I paid for the hotel room was extremely small. The staffs could have been more welcoming and half of the equipments in the room were broken
Lobby is nice and is in a good midtown location.
Staff just doesn't get the customer service business at all. Terrible From the front desk to the doormen who don't know how to get a cab to the front door! Too much to type here. Their lobby is nice but don't let it fool you. Rooms are nothing great and their staff just doens't get it.
